Loading Photos onto iPod Nano

I'm trying to load a few photos onto my iPod nano. Right now, Itunes is telling me I have 53.6mb of free space, and windows says the contents of the folder I'm trying to load is only 6.61mb. But when I try to load the photos, I get an error message that there isn't enough room.
Is there something I'm missing here?

    Hi JJelder,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    How much space do you have one your iPod left. In your iPod go to Settings (in the main menu) > About and see what it says. How are you putting them in your iPod exactly? Did you look at iPod 101: Put Pics on My ’Pod?

    Connect your iPod and wait for iTunes to see it.
    Then, in iTunes, click Edit > Preferences
    Click the iPod tab
    Click the photo tab
    Tell iTunes where to find the photos
    Click OK
    iTunes will then transfer the photos to the iPod the next time you update it

    Message Two: Some of your photos were not be copied to the iPod because they cannot be displayed on your iPod.
    What is going on? What kind of photos, videos can I see on the iPod?

    hmmm idk. i checked for an update but it said that the version i have was the latest version. i got my ipod in the last week of december/first week in january. i opened up itunes a minute ago and it said a new update was available, which i downloaded. now it says i can put photos onto it, but then that error message on itunes pops up saying 'The iPod could not be updated. THe disk could not be read from or written to.'Would it have anything to do with another error message that i get, ever since the first time i plugged it in, reading 'Failed to locate supported file types or there are no photos found on this device'. That one i havent seen in about an hour, and i have been able to edit which photos i put on my ipod for about an hour.
    Sorry its so long! You can see the photos on your ipod nano right? I only have slidshow settings when i go into the photo section. No pictures loaded onto it yet. Any ideas on whats goin on?

  • IPhoto[v 9.5.1] on MBP won't load photos from iPod touch Gen4 32GB, even if let run overnight

    iPhoto [v 9.5.1] on MBP won't load photos from iPod touch Gen4 32GB, even if let run overnight and don't let machine go to sleep.
    MBP has 8GB Ram and separate video card using 2.3 Ghx i7 processor ... so i don't think it is a hardware issue.

    Hello A_MadDog,
    It sounds like you are not able to import photos from your Camera Roll on your iPod touch.  I recommend following the steps in the article below for the issue you described:

  • Transferring photos from ipod nano to mac mini

    I cannot transfer my photos from my ipod nano to my mac mini. I have connected my ipod to the mini and opened up iphoto but I don't have the option to import my photos.

    An iPod nano is not a camera, so you can't do that with iPhoto.
    There is a setting that relates to your question.  Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Photos tab.  There is a checkbox there, that says Include full-resolution photos.  If that setting was checked WHEN you synced the photos to your iPod, then the iPod will have a copy of photo files at full-resolution.  To retrieve them, Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab.  Open the iPod's storage as a "disk," and look for the image files in Photos folder.
    If that setting was NOT already checked, then the iPod only has a low-resolution database of "thumbnails" instead of the photos; they are optimized to fit the very small screen on the nano (and save storage space).  They are not in a format that can be used directly on a computer.  There may be third-party utilities that can retrieve the images as individual files, but they would look terrible blown up to computer screen size.  The way they are converted and stored on the iPod, each image is only meant to look decent on the iPod's tiny screen.

  • Is There a Way to Load Photos onto an iPod Nano

    I'm a Windows user who bought an iPod Nano for Music and Photos. Since there is no iPhoto for Windows, and maybe never will, is there another way to do it? If I knew the file format for photos maybe I could find a way to load them. Otherwise, I wasted my money buying a iPod Nano. My huge company is PC committed. We have no Apple computers. I don't see this type of PC community using Apples and using work PCs just to get photos. That's to much to keep up with. I'm already having problems keeping up with Unix, Linux, Windows plus mainframe O/S's.
    Maybe someone will invent a PcPod for Windows that fits in my ear.

    I think most Apple users will ignore your question. First of all, I suggest you read the documentation. If you choose not to; rely on that all powerful two button mouse (Apple users are only now beginning to recognize the advantages of this type of device; and Intel chips).
    right click on the iPod nano icon in iTunes;
    select iPod options;
    click the photo tab;
    check the appropriate box;
    That should work.

  • ITunes won't properly upload photo/images onto iPod nano

    Everything else is working just fine and this isn't really a huge issue but just irritating.
    iTunes has just today decided to not copy photos to my iPod nano after I selected a different photos folder to copy in the preferences window. As usual it displayed the message "Optimizing Photo _" blah blah until the photos were all optimized....
    But then it didn't start copying the photos. In the information bar at the top of iTunes, it just said "iPod update is complete."
    I don't understand because I've previously deleted photos and changed the files to be copied to the iPod many times without any issues. This scenario happens everytime now and I can't get it to COPY the photos to my iPod.
    Restarting the computer does nothing, as with trying a different USB port. And it seems like too much work to reset or restore my iPod, or reinstall the iTunes software.
    I don't want to go to such drastic measures before I check with you people its not something error I have made that is easily fixed.
    So, anyone know what's up with this? Is there something I have missed?
    your input and advice would be much appreciated.

    PROBLEM FIXED!
    Solution: Restore iPod nano using the 'iPod Updater 2006-01-10' which is downloadable from this site and is a 45.5 MB file size. The program also updates iTunes quickly and without hassle.
    I have no idea what the cause was, but this seemed to fix it. I CAN COPY PHOTOS TO THE IPOD YAY!!!
    Don't worry about your music, as long as you have a copy of all your iPod songs in your iTunes Library, then its all good. After you've restored your ipod, just copy and drag all the songs you want from your Library to you iPod (in iTunes), and change some of the default settings on your iPod to how you prefer it.
    Easy.

  • I can't get songs to load onto ipod nano touch

    My brand new iPod Nano will only load 18 songs of the over 100 in my library. I tried synching several times and that didn't work. Then I tried selecting and dragging them to the iPod, which in iTunes looked like it was working, but they are not on my Nano. What's up?

    If you have a bunch of pictures or video on your Nano, you might be out of space. Otherwise, it may just be that the music is in the wrong format for your iPod. Try removing it from iTunes and adding it to the library again, making sure to say "yes" to the converting prompt.

  • Cannot delete photos from iPod nano 3G

    My brother, a windozer, has last week bought a iPod Nano. He was playing around a bit and loaded, he don't remember how, some photos on the Nano.
    He is now desperately trying to remove these photos from his nano. I suggested him to define one folder with just one photo in it, sync with that one in iTunes, with the hope that the Nano will get this only photo and delete all others. Unfortunately this does not work.
    Any hints?

    Has he tried Restoring the iPod in iTunes ???

  • Photos on ipod nano not synching correctly

    I just received an ipod nano 8g for christmas..i finally learned how to put the music on but am having trouble with the photos..i have a windows vista and have created a folder for the photos i want for my ipod..then i synch them just like they tell me to do..there are 28 photos in the folder and im only getting 8 to go onto the ipod and those are all messed up..hard to explain..lines of all different colors through the photos..i get a message that says not all photos can be synched to my ipod..but i dont understand why...what am i doing wrong...ive tried several times and different folders on my computer and same problem..not all the photos go on and the ones that do have lines all through them...im getting pretty frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated...im new to all this technology stuff..thanx again

    I think most of us are having problems with this which is annoying. If you check out the other e-mail threads you may possibly solve something for your own ipod that might work. I suspect it is looking likely though that it's not Vista compatible due to the amount of problems being experienced..very disappointing. Good luck

  • Loading photos to iPod Touch 4

    How to load different photo folders (JPEG) onto iPod Touch. Each time I load a folder, it wipes the previously loaded folder. Any suggestions how to do this, ewither by connecting via USB or via Wifi?

    You can only sync one photo folder to the iPod. You can have one level of subfolders in that one syncing folder. You just have to add new photos to the one syncing folder to not delete the old ones.
