Loading point optimization

Hi,
My client wants to schedule  the loading point and loading time automatically. For example, if the loading time is 4 hours and if you create two sales orders continuously, then it should propose the loading time with the gap of 4 hours during delivery schedule in order to eliminate the unnecessary waiting time of trucks. How to achieve this. Pl share your inputs.
Regards
Sankar

Hello Sankar
You may resort to delivery scheduling- see below-  and maintain loading time for the Shipping Point in hours. Let me caution you that SAP is not a scheduler/Optimizer though.

  • In BI 7,in loading point of view what is the difference

    Hello All
In BI 7,in loading point of view
Upto the first level(upto PSA) we use infopackage and from that layer onwards we use DTP's.
My question is why do we want to use DTPs there? Why cant we use infopackage only?
What is the advantage by using this DTPs for loading the data within BI
Please let me know in this regard
    Many Thanks
    Swami

    Hi Swami,
Although not recommended you can still use infopackages if you want in BI 7.x. The introduction of the DTP was to overcome some disadvantages of using infopackages up to and including release 3.x to load the data targets (especially with datamarts where one infopackage loads several data targets,
if something goes wrong with the load to one of these data targets then it can be very difficult to correct).
This section contains some arguments in brief why the DTP was introduced with BI 7.0 :
Transfer from one source to one target
    BW 3.X
One InfoPackage / Request supplies data for several data targets
Fixed sequence of steps (DataSource / transfer rules / update rules / data target)
Fixed source type: Combination DataSource/source system
Fixed target type: Cube or ODS object or master data
No init selection for extraction from infoprovider
One request can produce several error requests, depending on the data targets
No error handling into ODS Objects
    Delta management
BI 3.X: The Receiver for DataSources is merely a logical system, which makes it impossible to have a separate delta management for several data targets within
    one system
    BI 7.0
Data Transfer Process transports data from one data source to one data target; new source and target types can easily be defined
Arbitrary number of steps (filter objects/transformations) between two persistent objects
    Init selection available
Request produces error records stored in generic error stack
Error handling into ODS Objects possible
    Resume from persistent buffer
    Delta management
BI 7.0: The delta management is maintained by the data transfer process which connects arbitrary sources and targets
    I hope the above helps.
    Des.

  • Authorisation object to the loading point

    Hi, Experts,
As per the requirement we have configured the Weigh Bridges as loading points  from where the TRUCK empty and Gross weights  can be taken to create the delivery and these loading points were  assigned to multiple shipping points. Again each Shipping point also assigned to multiple loading points.each weigh bridge i.e. the loading point is being operated  by the end user.As the shipping point is assigned to multiple loading points, system  is allowing the user to select any one  of the  loading point assigned to that shipping point.
Now, my requirement is to restrict the end user to operate one loading point only by providing authorisation object for that loading point. what is the authorisation object for the loading point.
    Regards
    Sam

the loading point is being operated  by the end user
Through which transaction code, users are executing this loading point.  I think, the authorization object for this is L_YRD_MTHD

  • Shipping Point Vs Loading Point

A little clarity is needed btn the two...I think shipping point could be equated to a control office where all deliveries have to go through. Loading point is a physical location that deals with specialized (eg within car spare parts divison - sensors, belts, lights...etc) handling and could be at every plant location where goods are loaded onto the shipping vessel. How accurate is my understanding of the subject?

    Hi,
<b>Shipping point</b> : The physical location (for example, a warehouse or collection of loading ramps) from which you ship the item.
    Use
You can predefine shipping/receiving points in the system, based on different combinations of
    plants
    shipping conditions
    loading groups
During delivery processing, the shipping/receiving point is the most important criterion that you use to select deliveries.
A delivery can be shipped from one shipping point only or received at one receiving point only.
If you want to provide more detailed information about a shipping point you can specify a loading point (for example, one of a number of different loading ramps).
    Example
If, for example, you want to ship refrigerated goods to a certain customer by rail, the system proposes a shipping point with a suitable location and equipment for loading refrigerated goods onto rail cars.
    Procedure
The system can propose a shipping/receiving point. If valid alternatives are predefined in your system, you can change the shipping/receiving point manually.
You can define a user-specific default value for the shipping point in the user parameter VST.
<b>Loading point</b> The exact physical location where the loading of a delivery item takes place (for example, the number of a specific loading bay).
A loading point is a subdivision of a shipping point.
The loading point can be entered manually in the delivery header.
First enter the shipping points for which you want to define loading points.
To define the loading points for this shipping point, enter a two- character, alphanumeric key and a description. In addition, you can enter a short text for each loading point to indicate the area of responsibility.
Hope it helps. Pl reward if useful.

  • Transportation planning pt. and loading points

    Hi Experts,
How many Transportation planning pt. and loading points is to be maintained?
Is it to be maintained according to plants?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    shabnum

    Dear Shabnum
The transportation planning point is an organizational unit in Logistics, responsible for planning and processing transportation activities.
It organizes the responsibilities in a company, e.g. according to shipment type, mode of transport or regional departments.
Loading Point is nothing but Shipping points which are independent organizational entities within which processing and monitoring of the deliveries as well as goods issue is carried out. A delivery is processed by one shipping point only.
A shipping point can be determined for each order item. How the shipping point is determined depends on three factors:
<b>=></b> The shipping conditions from the customer master record (Shipping screen)
For example, it might have been agreed with the customer that the goods are to be delivered as soon as possible.
<b>=></b> The loading group from the material master record (Sales/Plant Data screen)
You could, for example, specify a loading group that defines that the goods must always be loaded with a crane or a forklift.
      <b>=></b> The delivering plant
This plant is determined per order item either from the customer master record or from the material master record. However, you can also enter it manually for each order item.
    Thanks

  • How to update loading point using a BAPI

Does anyone know how to update loading point in a delivery using a BAPI / function module like BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE. We could populate loading point in the structure for function module ws_delivery_update2. But it does not update the loading point.
    Thanks

Paul, I don't know if the person I'm trying to advise (who uses a Mac) will be able to do as you suggest.  However, I thought this would be an interesting exercise for me to try myself just to see if I can get it to work.
I tried your suggestion on all three of my devices, with no success (PAP2T, SPA2102, and SPA504G)...?
Once I have uploaded the .bin file(s) to my web site, are you saying that the only setting change I need to make is to just enter the exact path to the uploaded file in the field "Upgrade Rule" ?  This doesn't seem to enable the upgrade procedure on any of my devices that I tried it on (even after a manual power off/on reset).  Upgrade Enable is set to "yes" (the default).
    P.S.
My original path was using https://.  So, I just changed it to http:// on the spa504g, and this time the LCD display has the message: "Upgrading Firmware, Please do not turn off power...".  Problem is, all my registration lights stay green, and no lights are blinking to indicate an upgrade is in progress.  Then after a few minutes, or so, the LCD display returns back to normal display (Upgrade message dissappears).  All is normal, but spa504g did not do a firmware upgrade....?
Actually, my spa504g already has latest firmware at 7.5.3.  So, I'm trying to downgrade back to 7.5.2b, just to test out this procedure.

  • Loading point

    Hi,
Can a shipping point be assigned to many loading points?
    Thank you.

Yes shipping points can be assigned with as many loading points as possible and all the loading points are specific to that shipping points. The relation is one to many. All the loading points are unique to that shipping point.

  • Loading (point) features takes MapViewer 20 times sql exec time?

I have a map which contains only one theme which shows 14500 point geometries stored in a table (accessed via a view). Rendering the map takes a long time, more than 22 secs. Looking at the log from MapViewer it seems like the sql execution time is not the problem, also in a sql editor the query is fast. Labeling and rendering is fast too. CPU is not very busy while rendering the map, memory usage is under 70 MB. The problem seems to be loading the features after executing the sql query.
    This is the logging:

When I drop the spatial index and load the records by using the same control file, same data file and the same table, I don’t get any error and later I recreate the spatial index without errors. That should mean that the values in the data file are good, no “under” values.
Also, when I don't use "DIRECT=yes" loading in the control file, then SQL*Loader loads all records with no errors, but it takes hours which is too long.
I want to avoid to have to drop the spatial index every morning before the data loading process, because it is a very large table and it takes 45-60 minutes to recreate that index partition, and that much time delay is not good.
Can anyone please provide an advice or point to some link with examples of how to use “sqlldr” to load large number of records into a spatial table with spatial index?
    Thank you,
    Milan

    Hi Milan,
take a look to "Oracle Database Data Cartridge Developer's Guide" [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10765/dom_idx.htm#autoId50] (here is the 11g rel2 version but is the same with 9i)
    Domain Indexes and SQLLoader*
SQLLoader conventional path loads and direct path loads are supported for tables on which domain indexes are defined, with two limitations:
    -The table must be heap-organized.
+-The domain index cannot be defined on a LOB column.+
To do a direct path load on a domain index defined on an IOT or on a LOB column, perform these tasks:
    -Drop the domain index
-Do the direct path load in SQL*Loader.
    -Re-create the domain indexes.
doesn't seem to be possible to use "direct path method" with spatial (domain) indexes
i hope for you that there is a workaround ...
    good luck,

  • Application loading  time optimization

    Hi,
I have a pretty big application in flex, its loading time is more than 1 minute.
The swf size now is 1.6MB.
I have tried breaking the swf into seperate modules, but that didnt improve the performance and have also tried using RSL and referred images at run time didnt work.
Please let me know a solution to optimize Load time other than doing MVC.

I an having the same problem "Profiling can only be performed on the debug version of an application".
The application is compiled with '-debug'.
I am not sure if this is related, but in the Flex Builder console, a message appears:

  • Loading point determination

    Dear Sap Gurus,
In shipping point, to determine load time, there are four criteria in detrmining load time.
in that what is route dependent loading time, and route independent loading time.
    divya

    Hi,
In shipment scheduling, the route-related scheduling of the shipping points is used to determine the loading time and the pick/pack time. This is called route dependent loadtime.Route independent loadtime will not participate in Shipment scheduling..
    Also go through  Note 753563..

  • A whole load of optimization questions

    Hi
I am making my new website in iweb, and i am a composer with a fairly large portfolio.
I need to be able to show potential clients lots of bits of different genres to get across the idea of what i am capable of. Trouble is that i am not really up on how to get things loading fast enough to be useable. So the things I need to know are these:
    1. What bit rate of mp3 is high enough to be good enough for showing off audio (bearing in mind that i am a composer and the quality is important) but small enough to load quickly into most browsers?
    2. How long an audio clip is sensible for this purpose?
    3. Am i right in thinking that iweb converts mp3 into .mov files? If so, does this make a problem in terms of speed of loading.
    4. Does iwebenhancer help speed up loading when it simplifies the folder structure
    5. What size (in terms of megabytes not pixels!) images are acceptable to accompany audio?
    6. Is iweb the right tool for trying to do this job, or am i trying to get it to do something it is not intended for?
Hope someone can help me, because i am spending hour upon hour trying to get this right, and the site is ridiculously slow at the moment. It took 10 seconds to load a page on a machine with a 10meg broadband connection!!!!

So, I've installed, uninstalled, etc.., etc, deleted teh Vendor xml. pulled the battery and put it back in - still get the message - So, I've bought software, unzipped it into a folder, and the app loader still doesn't "see" the .alx file.
    Any ideas?????

    Go to Solution.

Have you got  your app loader pointed to the right directory (where you saved the .alx file)
    Hope this helps!
I just reread your post. Are you updating to a new OS?
What software did you buy? A third party app?

  • ODS to CUBE loading - taking too much time

    Hi Experts,
I am loading data from R/3(4.7) to BW (3.5).
I am loading with option --> PSA and then Data Target (ODS ).
I have a selection criteria in Infopackage while loading from standard Datasource to ODS.
It takes me 20 mins to load 300K records.
But, from ODS to Infocube ( update method: Data Target Only), it is taking 8 hours.
The data packet size in Infopackage is 20,000 ( same for ODS and Infocube).
I also tried changing the data packet size, tried with full load , load with initialization,..
I tried scheduling it as a background job too.
I do not have any selection criteria in the infopackage from ODS to Cube.
Please let me know how can I decrease this loading time from ODS to Infocube.

    Hi,
To improve the data load performance
    1. If they are full loads then try to see if you make them delta loads.
    2. Check if there are complex routines/transformations being performed in any layer. In that case see if you can optimize those codes with the help of an abaper.
    3. Ensure that you are following the standard procedures in the chain like deleting Indices/secondary Indices before loading etc.
    4. Check whether the system processes are free when this load is running
    5. try making the load as parallel as possible if the load is happening serially. Remove PSA if not needed.
    6. When the load is not getiing processed due to huge volume of data, or more number of records per data packet, Please try the below option.
    1) Reduce the IDOC size to 8000 and number of data packets per IDOC as 10. This can be done in info package settings.
    2) Run the load only to PSA.
    3) Once the load is succesfull , then push the data to targets.
In this way you can overcome this issue.
Ensure the data packet sizing and also the number range buffering, PSA Partition size, upload sequence i.e, always load master data first, perform change run and then transaction data loads.
