Loading previously purchased WMA songs

I recently bought a 4gb Ipod Nano after having used Creative products for several years. The whole headphone jack issue led to me try out the Ipod and so far it's been great.
I have quite a few songs that I have purchased from other online music stores such as Napster. When I tried to load it onto my Ipod, I get an error regarding protected WMA files. I saw a couple of posts stating that one way to get around this is to burn the songs onto a CD and then add it to the Itunes library. Is there any other way to do this? I don't have a CD burner available. I think it kind of ***** to lose songs that I have already paid for because I switched to a different player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I understand that you do not have a CD burner, but you do have a CD drive on your PC. If so, copy the songs onto a blank CD, take it to a friend that has a CD burner.
The only thing is that your friend will have to have a similar setup that you have or some type of music sw in order to burn the CD.
If that is the case, once the CD is burned properly, you can then read it into iTunes from your CD drive.

  • Loading Previously Purchased Songs on New Computer

I'm looking to load previously purchased songs onto a new computer. My old computer received a virus (those people are going to ****) and I want to recapture all the music I previously purchased. Is that possible?
I tried the "check for purchases" under the tools button but only two songs came through.

Assuming you have an iPod - hook it up to your "puter & you should receive a dialogue box which states that there are songs on your iPod that are not on your "puter "do you wish to transfer them?
Press Ok & sit back & relax. If not call apple & explain your plight to them, they can do this as I found out ( before I sussed connecting my iPod up though!). However they will ask you to detail all your purchase dates & order No.s etc. but you will be able to get this info by logging on to your iTunes account. Tiresome but it worked for me!.
    Hope this helps

  • Have a new computer and want to down load previously purchased movies how do i do this

I have a new computer and want to down load previously purchased movies but can't find them. How do I do this.

Install iTunes. Login with your apple ID and click "iTunes store". Click "purchased" on the right and you should see all previously purchased content to download.

  • HT201272 When I try to play a previously purchased/downloaded song, I get an error message...

When I try to play a previously purchased/downloaded song, I get an error message that states "The song .... could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" If I try to locate in my files, I can't find it. But when I go to my previously purchased songs, there isn't the option for me to re-download the song.

You are in a country where music can be redownloaded i.e. music appears as a category in the Purchased link ? If it does, and as long as that track is still in your country's store, then deleting that track from your iTunes library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' message) should get it to appear in Purchased with the cloud symbol for redownloading - as you still have it listed in your library iTunes is assuming that you still have the track somewhere and that it doesn't need redownloading. If that track still doesn't show in Purchased (and it's still in the store) then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

  • I had previously purchased 56 songs, over a year ago. Tonight I purchased 22 more. It seems that I am being charged for all 78 that are currently in the library. How can this be stopped?

I doubt that this is happening.  Why do you think that you are being charged for all 78?
    Did you buy them again?
You only buy one download, so if you downloaded them again you would have to pay again.

  • Cannot load previous purchases in iTunes 10.3

In iTunes 10.3.1 I cannot download anything from the cloud. Whenever I go to the "download previous purchases" section it always tells me " temporarily unable to load your purchased items". It's been like this since 10.3 beta was released. Is there something I can do or is it iTunes itself? I've tried searching for help and no one seems to have this problem, or at least not enough where I can find them. I've also found that when I go to the "Purchases" tab in the iTunes Store I get the error -1202. I've tried searched that error and my time and date are correct, but when I try to copy link and open in browser I get an 500 internal error. I am able to get to purchase history though by clicking the "Purchased" tab on the sidebar of iTunes and clicking the "download previous purchases" as I mentione before.

    Hi,
I have the exact same issue. I cannot view my purchases in the iTunes store and cannot subscribe to podcasts, among other things. The stuff I already tried (multiple times):
    - Checked date and time
    - Latest iTunes version
    - All Windows updates installed
    - Installed the March 2011 root certificates update
    - Disabled "Check certificate revocation" in IE(8)
    - Uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled iTunes
    - Deleted all Apple and Apple Computer folders in C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\ [ Local | LocalLow | Roaming ], thus creating an entirely new profile on next iTunes start
    - Rebooted PC several times
    I'm running Windows 7 64bit with iTunes 64bit latest (10.3.1.55)
I really hope to have this resolved soon, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    K!

  • HT201272 Down load previous purchases not listed in "Previous Purchases"

When I go to my previously purchased items in iTunes store two films which I have purchased do not appear. Can anyone help?

Are they still in the store (fim studios occasonally remove their films), or are they hidden from the Purchased link (hiding and unhiding) ? Some studios also don't allow their films to be re-downloaded, in which case do you have them on your backup of your downloads ?

  • Down loading previously purchased songs

Our last home PC's hard drive crashed. All my purchased music was on there. I now have a new laptop, do I have to repurchase all previous music and apps?
    Thanks

Where is your backup? You should always maintain a backup.
If for some reason you have failed to do this, you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:
    File>Transfer Purchases
    Backup,backup, backup
"PRODUCTS CAN ONLY BE DOWNLOADED ONCE; AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED, THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST FOR ANY REASON. YOU SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR OWN SYSTEM"

  • Trying to down load my purchased itunes song onto another computer

I logged into my itunes on my pc to download a song I purchased but it says my computer has to be authorized, how does that happend?  What do I do?
    Thanks

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • Reloading previously purchased iTunes song on new harddrive

I recently had a sudden harddrive crash and had to replace it before being able to backup my itunes library. Does iTunes keep track of the purchased songs in my iTunes account so that I don't have to repurchase again?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I have changed my computer three times and I'm having trouble playing previously purchased/downloaded songs. itunes is prompting me for my user id and password everytime I click on those songs I had puchased. I had also changed my user id

I appreciate any help or assistance you can share with me. thank you very much.

Because too much time has passed I can't edit this into the prior comment, but here is the info regarding reverting to iTunes 11.0.2 (assuming you do have a time machine backup) from https://discussions.apple.com/message/22057703#22057703

    Repairing permissions doesn't fix it.
I reverted to the previous version, 11.0.2.
    1. Quit the new crash-prone iTunes.
    2. Delete the app.
    3. Restore v. 11.0.2 with Time Machine.
    4. In your iTunes folder look for a folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries", find the latest one.
    5. In the iTunes folder itself you'll see "iTunes Library.itl", delete it (or compress it and save a copy for later just in case.
    6. Copy the newest .itl file in Previous iTunes Libraries to the iTunes folder and rename it "iTunes Library.itl".
    7. Launch the older version of iTunes.
My crashing has seemed to have ceased with a revert to an older version. I noticed today that the newer crashing iTunes had been launched for hours but not playing anything, when I played internet radio it crashed within 5mins, fed up I reverted to an older version.
Btw, a simpler way to do this is to revert to older iTunes app, then hold Option when it launches and choose an older library.

  • Previously purchased iTune songs will not transfer to new hard drive on my

computer. I authorized computer through iTunes after hard drive installed and received message it was successful. When I connected iPod to sync, I then received message that items won't copy because computer not authorized. I then deauthorized and authorized again and received message it was successful. Then I tried copying again and received same message that they could not be copied because computer not authorized. Is there any other way to copy them to iPod?

It may be that the song album tracks are not checked. iTunes will not sync unchecked tracks.
Right mouse click on a track in the album if it shows Check Selection at the bottom of the popup than select Check Selection. Repeat for the other tracks. You can select all at once and still select Check selectiom.
    The Album should now sync

  • HT201272 All my previously purchased iTunes Music will not play on my iPhone 5. I am really frustrated! If anyone knows how to help, please do so :)

I cannot play any of my previously purchased iTunes songs/albums on my iPhone 5. The songs are listed as downloaded, but when I go to play them, the 'play' screen appears for about 2 seconds, and then disappears. I have followed all the steps I can find online. My phone is syncing with iCloud these days. Please help if you can!

    Welcome to the forums.
This hasn't yet been reported but the fact that it's only songs you purchased that plays is suspicious. What is the format of the other music? (Go into iTunes and select one and press Ctrl-I and report on what it says there).

  • Purchased iTune song on iPhone now it doesn't show up on my computer

I purchased an individual song on my iPhone last night, but when I went to get it on my computer the iTunes Store keeps reading that I all ready "purchased"it, but it doesn't appear on my desktop in the iTunes "Purchased" list. This is the first time this has happened. I have previously purchased several songs on my iPhone, and they have always shown up on my computer. What happened this time?? Thanks for any ideas. Joan

did you transfer the tune ? connect your device and right-click or control-click your iPhone in the iTunes Source list, then choose +transfer purchases+ from the shortcut menu that appears.
