Loading Project Hang

I'm having this problem:
I open a CS3 project in CS4.
I save it.
I open it again in CS4. This time Premiere hangs. The Load Project window stops at about 95%, and stays there for hours. I can move this little window, tough. Bit if I press the Cancel button, the main premiere window turns white, and I eventually have to close the program as it has stopped responding.
I've tired this in a dual boot machine, one XP (x32) and one VistaX64. the same thing happens.

It sounds like there might be a dialogue screen that is hidden from view for some reason.
A couple of questions:
1.) did you ever have more than one monitor hooked up to the system?
2.) if you choose Project New, and then Window>Workspace>[choosing a default, or known good custom], and then Close Project, Open problem Project, do you see a new dialogue box anywhere?
3.) can you shrink PrPro down to a smaller size, then Open problem Project and see anything, anywhere, if you move the smaller GUI around?
Since Windows is telling you that the program is waiting for a response, I'd consider the possiblity that for some reason, you are not seeing a dialogue screen. Do you have any sort of GUI enhancer, like Window Blinds?
Back before Workspaces were introduced, a friend came by with his Macbook to show me how well it worked with PS. He set it up, and went to do some adjustment with Highlight & Shadow. PS and his Macbook both hung. No Esc, or other would get him to working. We thought for a bit, and he menitoned that he always had a second monitor hooked up at his studio. I grabbed a spare monitor and hooked it to the Macbook. He rebooted and tried the same thing again. This time, we could see the Highlight & Shadow dialogue box, way off to the side of the second monitor. He dragged it back to his main screen and all worked perfectly. Hidden box, that he could not see, or access. That is why I asked about the second monitor, though it could be another similar display problem.

Premiere CS4 will not load project

Hi! I've been looking around the forums for an answer to my problem, but so far I haven't found one. Here's my problem:
I've been working on a Premiere project for a couple weeks now, and I've constantly been having problems. It crashes often, and sometimes does not respond. This I do not mind, I just save whenever I do something.
Yesterday night, I tried to open my project. I opened it, and the little box popped up that said, "Load Project...". The loading bar went all the way to the end and then froze. In the bottom left corner, it had said that all media was loaded. I pressed cancel and then Premiere froze. I then exited Premeire and tried to reopen, but the same thing happened. I had read on one post to try to turning off your computer and then turning it back on. So, I went to bed.
Today, the project was working perfectly until now. This time, the loading bar only loaded about 75%, even though at the bottom it said that all media was loaded. I re-started my computer, but it didn't help. I pressed shift, but it didn't help. And the last time an auto-save file was created was yesterday, and I have made a lot of progress since then. Does anyone have a solution to this?

I have 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP computer with and Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8400 2.66 GHz. The RAM is 6 GB. I don't know if this information will help you, but just in case.

I spent the day researching why my PrPro CS4 project hangs at about 80% loaded all of a sudden. Bill was right on in his suggestion to search for a corrupt or bad asset. His technique to solve the problem did not work at all though. Going back to a perviously auto-saved version of the project does not help much unless the project file itself is the bad asset. The project once saved under a new name still won't load in my experience. Also, if you try to export some part of the assets within the project, Adobe Media Encoder CS4 will fail to encode as well (another symptom of the bad asset hiding in your project workplace and sequence time-lines.
In my case, it turned out to be an avi movie asset that I changed from "avi movie with audio" to "avi movie without audio" outside of adobe premiere (using after effects cs4 in my case). So now the project thought there should be audio, but the audio was now removed.
To find the bad asset was pretty easy: First go back to a project version that you can load, then click on each asset in the project workspace area and try to copy the asset using the menu: edit -> copy.
If the asset is bad, a goofy error message will pop up including a source code file name [this has to be yet another bug in premiere to crash like this].
If the asset is good, the copy will report no error, so move on to the next asset, repeat until you find one or all bad assets.
To solve the bad asset load problem,re-import the asset under a new name. Go to your sequence, right mouse click on the asset in the time line, use the "replace with clip -> bin" command. Last step, select the new replacement asset from your bin.

Premiere Won't Load Project

From the splash Screen instead of picking from the list on the splash screen I decided to choose OPEN and then choose the file and it seemed to work.

Desktop Manager Will not Load. Hangs on splash screen when loading, then crashes

My desktop manager is not loading, and hangs whenever it is attempted to load. I have done a clean uninstall, removed rim registry entries, and did a fresh download and install 3 times with full shut downs between each attempt. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 with an HP Laptop. It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Product Number LY080UA. I hope that is enough information, but I will give more if asked and informed how to gather such info.
When I right click on the Desktop Manager Icon, I choose to run as Admin. Once it loads the splash screen shows. After a little bit (4-6 seconds) a small Icon appears in my systems tab at the bottom right of my screen. This stays for a little while and then goes away. After this happens the Splash screen hangs, and get a black border around it. If I click on the Splash screen it grey out and says not responding, prompting windows to ask me if I want to wait for the program or close. If I choose to wait, it will sit there and do nothing. If I close it will prompt windows to "look for an error" but has not yet been able to return an answer.
When I log into safe mode, Desktop Manager loads, but does not work well as only a bare bones set of drivers are enabled. If I turn off all but the non-essential services off using services.msc it will load, but again the services needed for it to run and the services for windows to be fully functional are not on at all.
I have attempted to turn off all but the Desktop manager in the start up, using msconfig, but that does not help either.
I am at my wits end here, and would really like some help with this. It loads up (desktop manager) on my Desktop, but I am unable to log that mammoth box around with me while I travel.

I tried to reload the data but no help, I am not sure how to reolve this issue, I also contacted to BASIS even they are not aware of this error.

Is down loading projects to DVD's a safe way to edit and save?

Yesterday I posted "Is down loading projects to DVD's a safe way to edit and save?". It got deleted. Being a newbe I got it in the wrong forum. I got it in "Post New Thread in Forum Comments". I was asked what path I used; I opened the home page. I ticked Discussions / Start New Discussion. I was so baited by the lure to post, I did not see the small "Adobe Forums" at the top and bottom of the page. I also did not understand the large "Post New Tread in Forum Comments". It was a bit confusing to me. But thanks to you guys I see the light.
I read the discussion I started in "Why do we keep moving Post?". I was branded as a lost soul. I want to thank all of you for helping find my way. No one was rude or even harsh. I have been on other Forums and if you make a mistake you get blasted.
I also want to thank you for all the answers I got for my original post. I read up on SATA and I can see that is where I need to make some changes to my portioned HD. I am sure I will be leaning on you for a lot of help for such a "Lost soul". And that I am. I am your typical 61 year old who got started late on computers.
The fact that my HD is portioned is not a good thing I learned. I am not sure if my computer has the Power Supply or the Mother Board to convert to SATA. My question is: Will eSATA work in place of the internal SATA?
Will I need two; one for editing and one for storage.
I have an outboard I Omega with about 650GB, I think. Not sure if it is SATA, but it has worked well for my backup videos and general files.

It should ALL be available with the information the system builder gave you... he DID give you the paperwork that came with the individual components?
Taking the side panel off the case and looking inside with a flashlight might also help... but, of course, you'll need to know what it is you are seeing, and it sounds like you don't know much about hardware, so that may not help much
Sadly, if the person who built this "video editing" computer didn't really understand video editing, you are left with a computer that won't do what you want, and no easy way to make it work
You may need to find a computer shop to do this for you... and make sure part of their price is giving you a written list of everything you HAVE and everything they DO in the way of additions or configuration changes

Loading project files from Logic Audio 3.5 to Logic Express 8

I have been using an old Mac and a very old version of Logic (Logic Audio 3.5) for years now. I recently upgraded to a MacBook and to Logic Express 8. The user manual tells me that Logic Express 8 will load project files back to version 5. I have a number of recording projects semi-complete, in progress, or on hold and having to import individual audio files for each will be a major undertaking. Any suggestions on how I can import projects into my new set-up quickly and easily? I was diligent about keeping all files in separate folders on my old Mac - so all related files for a given project should be found in the same folder.

Yes. Logic 7 can import Songs in version 4 format. If you have Songs in that format, it only takes a few seconds to open & re-save each Song, & when you do they will be in version 5 format, which Logic 8 can read.
However, if your Songs pre-date version 4, your task will be much harder… you will have to find someone somewhere running a version of Logic that can read these, which at a guess would mean someone running System 9.2.2 or earlier!
As for speeding up your workflow… the conversion is quick, but updating old Songs to a contemporary setup will take as long as you're willing to spend on it!
(To be clear: when you convert, nothing changes except the Song version. All your assets — Audio files etc. — will still be looked-for in the same places.)

Yes, uninstalling iCloud will allow you to create new projects.
For legacy projects, you can repair them with a patch created by a user.

What computer operating system is involved?
There is no guarantee that a project created in an earlier version can be opened in a later one. Many times it can, but...
If you do try this, then please consider working from a copy of the project 10 project file and then trying to open that in 13/13.1.
Reason: projects created in an earlier version and then opened and edited in a later version cannot be opened again in the
earlier version.
And, there is always the issue of maintaining the connect of the source media with the project file. Is this move from 10 to 13/13.1
happening on the same computer and are the source media in the same place where they were when they were first imported
into the 10 project. Disc menus consideration may enter into this depending on your details.

I have come across a little problem where a Solo safe keeps re-enabling itself on a certain track when re-loading project.
Has anyone else come across this? I'd be interested to know if you/they came up with a solution

Error message: Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format

This monring I open dvdsp project and it happen frozen. It became not responding. So I had to force quit. Now I can't open project file. The error message said "Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format". What should I do?

This isn't quite the same issue, but close enough that it must be related:
I was working on a project this morning, added a ton of subtitles and tweaked a jpeg menu (in photoshop). Saved it, closed it down without any issues, and now it won't open. The "Loading Project" box gets 1/4 of the way along and freezes on "Loading Tracks". In Activity Monitor the DSPX_Encoder services are not frozen, although not actually using any CPU power.
Needless to say I don't have a backup...... and I thought that I had achieved a lot this morning.
Solutions attempted so far:
Disconnected the external hard drive with all the assets in the hope that I could isolate a dodgy file. Masde no difference, so the problem must be within the project file itself.
Anything else to be done??

Failure to Load Project: OA Express Datatypes not Compatible with SignalExpress 2014

Hi,
since a few days now, I am trying to get SignalExpress 2014 Full running on my workstation. I deinstalled and reinstalled all National Instruments components multiple times, but I always receive the following error (see also the picture attached) when I try to open a certain project:
Failure to load project
Installed component versions are not compatible with the version of the SignalExpress 2014. Please install the latest versions of the following:
1) OA Express Datatypes
Previously, there was also "DAQ Assistant" mentioned in the list of missing components/components with incompatible versions, but I could solve this with installaing NI-DAQmx. But I could not find anything looking for "OA Express Datatypes" --- I neither know in what package this component is located nor what the purpose of this component is.
Any help is appreciated.

Just did a downgrade and it's working again, here are my versions.
linux 3.9.9-1
linux-headers 3.9.9-1
nvidia 319.32-2
nvidia-utils 319.32-1
bbswitch 0.7-4
If you have conflicts, I found it easiest to remove those (bbswitch, virtualbox in my case), downgrade linux and then install the appropriate bbs/vb packages

Error loading project

What the heck! I was able to open this project file not to long ago and now it is giving me a message saying "Error loading project: Invalid project file format". This seems like such a simple error, but it is still baffling me and I can't open the project. I checked the individual file's info and the extension is a .dspproj which I think is right. I am also running DVD Studio Pro version 4.0.3. Could it be possible that when I used automatic update for my application that it somehow disabled this file from opening? Or is there something that I am missing that I can fix. Any input will be much appreciated.

I've had exactly the same thing happen. Mid tweak! DVDSP has crashed
In My DVDSP Project folder on the G5 there's the original file which (is probably corrupted) and then an identically named file (bar this character ~) Like the original but with a basic folder icon instead of the DVDSP version.
Is it corrupted? do i have to start again?

.............. I've fixed it!
The DVDSP labeled project file was only 16kb
the Basic one was 518kb
I duped the DVDSP icon'd file to the desktop (Just in case) and did the same with the the basic folder.
then i did "Show package contents" and checked the RESOURCES file in both. and then copied the larger version from the basic folder version over to the DVDSP labeled RESOURCES folder.
I then tried reopening it.
It took a couple of tries BUT... It HAS opened my DVD (3 Days of my life i'll have you know)
I also now have a couple of Backups...Ahemm....
Fixed in the time it took to start this question!

Can't load project after any Premiere CS4 update...

Premiere 4.0.0 works fine with my project. After updating to 4.1 or higher, my project no longer loads. Premiere shows the loading project indicator, goes away after 100% and then freezes.
Deleting all the cache directories doesn't fix the problem.
The only thing that works is re-installing Premiere 4.0.0.
I played around and noticed that if I hide the video files from Premiere before loading the project, the project will load and ask for the location of the video files. I click cancel and the project loads fine.
It seems that whatever the update does somehow confuses Premiere when loading my P2 video files.
But like I said, everything loads in Premiere 4.0.

SSDT Project hangs when the model comes up

SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition SP1 on Windows 8.1 Professional
I recently brought over a Tabular Analysis SSDT project from my work laptop to my own personal laptop. I managed to bring up the model, successfully deploy the model to SSAS on the same personal laptop (Weds).
Today when I went in to bring up the model, the system hang, CPU usage goes up to 100% and there is more than enough memory and disk space.
Any ideas would be appreciated and thanks.
