Loading songs 2 or 3 at a time

My iPod will only load 2 or three songs at a time so I have to keep unplugging and replugging it back in to get them all loaded. It is taking FOREVER!
My sister has a new second generation nano and the same thing happened to her last night! She has lots of songs to load and it took us 30 minutes or so to get the first 25 songs. It was ridiculous!
Any suggestions?

Which programs did you use to check for malware?
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Wow Itunes 11 *****.  What were they thinking?  How do I load songs into it?

It is mind boggling how back Itunes has become.  I've been working for 30 years with computers and I cannot use that software.  Once I get it to install correctly (if it ever does), how do I get my songs into the library.  I used be able to select whole disk folders at a time and it would load them all.  Now it seems I can only load them a song at a time...say it ain't so.  I have thousands of songs.
Ah, I said, I know what I'll do, I'll connect my Ipod touch and load the library from there.  I did this before I attempted to update to 11.3.   When I connected my ipod and tried to get ITunes to sync the with the library on the ipod all it would do is ask me if I wanted to delete everything on my Ipod....NO! I want to copy the IPod library in to Itunes on the PC.  Since when does sync mean only in one direction.  Blocked.
    Install of 11.3 failed....blocked.
I bought my wife a new ipod nano 7g (wonder if I can get my money back).  Guess what? can't load songs onto it from my Macbook cause I'm running OSX 10.5.8 and it requires a later version of Itunes that won't run on my mac.  Blocked.  Have to look at updating to OSX 10.6.8 which I don't have a lot of confidence in given the way apple has mucked things up so badly with other thing (e.g., changing connector to lightning, Itunes, etc.).  That's why I'm trying to use windows.  But alas....blocked.
Apple Soft has gone mad.  No better and maybe worse than Microsoft and Google Soft.
Can you tell I'm frustrated at having to wrestle constantly with this stuff.
    Any hope someone can help.

Enable the menu bar with Ctrl+B. From here you can use File > Add Folder to Library.
Enable the side bar with Ctrl+S. Makes navigating the library easier.
iTunes has always had a limited sync feature, media syncs to the device, ratings, play counts and purchases can sync in either direction. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
For general advice installing/updating iTunes see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Itunes Problem with loading songs

I'm trying to load songs into my itunes. I select "File" then "Add File to Library". I have to do it 4 songs at a time. If I select more then 4 songs the stupid program just goes back to the main screen and loads nothing. I've updated my itunes to the latest version. No change.
Is this a "Feature" of the software or just a bug?

You can go to File -> Add Folder to Library, and then highlight a folder, and iTunes will import all songs that are in that folder, or subfolders of that folder, that it can recognize the format of.

  • How do I go about deleting mulitple song files all at one time as opposed to deleting them all individually off of the latest version of iTunes

How do I go about deleting mulitple song files all at one time as opposed to deleting them all individually off of the latest version of iTunes?
Also I have tried authorizing my computer to play the songs I purchased off of iTunes when I had an iPhone 4 and it will not allow me to play them whatsoever. I now have an iPhone 5 and wish to load these past song purchases onto my new phone. How do I solve this issue?

what you're missing to export multiple files is the batch export command available in the file menu or by control clicking on the items in the browser.  You can export multiple sequences/clips at full resolution with this.
This has been available in fcp for a long long time.
Wow, you are right.  Now that you mention it, I can't believe I never noticed that.  Thanks.
Only if you have the 'Self-Contained' box checked.  Otherwise you'll end up with a reference movie.
Correct.  That box is typically checked by default.  There are other default settings you could change that would not result in a full-quality version, but what I meant was hitting that option from the pull-down menu, then changing nothing and hitting ok.

  • IPod won't load songs

Since upgrading to iTunes 5.0.1, I can't load songs on my iPod.
I did disk utility, reset to factory settings and now it will load a few songs then hang up.
Tried auto update, manual and still the same. Loads a few songs and then locks up.
Tried it with my laptop running tiger and iTunes 4.xxx and it loads songs no problem.
I've looked at the forums and see this is a popular problem with iTune 5 and fixes?
Apple screwed the pooch on this upgrade.

My ipod wasn't allowing me to load songs, then did and now it is stuck again it will load a couple of songs and then it will say it is updating but just freeze, the time also freezes on the computer. It will not stop the update if I ask it to and if I try to force quit itunes it does not work and the computer then will not restart - it is driving me demented! Does anyone have a fix? I have a 2nd gen ipod and am running the latest version updater, I have tried resetting and reformatting the ipod - it did nothing but delete what songs I was able to transfer to it! Am using tiger 10.4.3 and have run all the latest updates....

  • Loaded songs are erased when I try to download movies

HELP!! I am having trouble figuring out how to down load my purchased movies without erasing my loaded songs.....every time I load all my songs again and move on to movies after it tells me ok to disconnect everything is eresed???? I am just about ready to cry!!!!! Thanks Donna Jean

A decompression failure usually indicates a bad download. Simply delete the bad download files and then re-download each file that wouldn't unzip. Most of these download files are very large so if you have a slower or unreliable Internet connection, we highly recommend that you download only ONE file at a time. The templates and artwork kits are hosted on Amazon.com servers which are some of the most reliable in the world to help ensure successful downloads. • Unable to load songs onto Ipod from Intel Imac

I am unable to unload songs onto my 5th gen ipod from my Intel Imac. No amount of troubleshooting has helped so far; SMC, restore, swapping usb ports, swapping cables, PRAM, etc.
I can, however, load songs onto the ipod from my 6 yr old Tibook. This leads me to believe my Imac has a usb port problem, unless somehow my ipod is at the root of this issue?
The tibook's usb is 1.1, not 2.0, which makes for verrry loonngg load times and I woould much rather be able to load from my Imac.
Has anybody else encountered anything like this before?
Of course my Imac and my ipod are out of warranty - if my Imac (or my Ipod) are in need of repair, can anybody recommend or anti-recommend good repair services, preferably in the Seattle area?
    please and thanks,
    dt

Yes, Itunes starts up, no dialog boxes at first but I can anticipate soon getting a whirling beachball of death oftentimes just by plugging in the ipod, definitely if and when I try to load any songs onto it.
I often eventually get a dialog box to the tune of ipod could not be loaded to for unknown reasons 1435. Thats the only one I remember right now, though it seems I have gotten slight variations on this theme.
The ipod appears both in itunes and the desktop, although if itunes freezes I cannot see the whole desktop to confirm at all times. Yes, the ipod does appear in the system profiler under usb.
Eventually the entire computer will be taken over by the wbbod, forcing a hard re-boot.
    please and thanks,
    dt

  • Ipod never played, but loads songs

I got a shuffle from my bank and i opened it on my computer and loaded songs and everything seemed fine but it doesn't play. I tried turning up the volume, different headphones and whatever, still nothing. I updated and updated and decided to try and 'restore' it but now it won't even open in itunes anymore (though it did before). When i open the program to restore, I can't restore because it says 'please plug in an ipod' even though it's plugged in!!!
All it ever does on the computer is blink amber even if i leave it for 5 hours it's still blinking. Should i just mail it for the warranty and relieve myself? or is there something i can do?

accck. okay, there's definitely a blue screen lurking in the background of this. i pulled up this info on that Event at event ID:
    System 1003
lets try setting up your PC to collect a minidump of the crash. then, if it happens again, send it through to the Apple Engineers for a look. (they may be able to determine from that what driver is causing the grief.)
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
the next time the PC crashes like this, find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing

  • Loading data one year at a time

    Hi,
We have a situation where we need to load data one year at a time. I saw this done a few years ago but do not remember the details.
What I am thinking is that we could initially run a full load with the following parameters:
    $$ANALYSIS_START: 1/1/2006
    $$ANALYSIS_START_WID: 1/1/2006
    $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE: 1/1/2006
    $$ANALYSIS_END_WID: 1/1/2006
And this should give us one year. What I am not sure about is how to load each subsequent year???
    Regards

Is the issue a performance issue (ETLs running for too long)? The problem is that if you do Year by year..and you want to do a "incremental" load for each year, that would be even more of a load..since you are not allowing for BULK load (where the tables get truncated). Either you can truncate and do BULK or incrmental..which may be an even heavier load. I think you are assuming that this approach will somehow help you from a hardware limitation standpoint..do you know for sure that it will?
If you really do want to do it, as I mentioned, you can edit the INITIAL and END parameters. It would help if you clarify the Hardware limitation...I think there are better ways to handle this than to do what you are doing.

Wow, I just checked & all the DOWNLOADED songs MADE it into my iTunes "Songs". Thanks anyway!

  • Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled. As most of these are classical, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time. Can I restore them to the original albums?

Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled into individual 'songs'. As most of these are classical and folk, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time (ie, a movement from Beethoven's 5th symphony followed by a folk song followed by one excerpt from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc. Can I restore them all to the original albums and make sure the shuffle doesn't happen again?
    Thanks!

Thanks! That has worked, but only partially - there are still some Beethovens mixed in with the Vivaldis. I'm sure I installed these as total albums.
I have noticed that too from time to time, I generally move the files into the correct folder and fix the index in itunes when one won't open, occasionally.

  • Is there a way of "merging" songs in iTunes. Several times, I have downloaded from the Internet, or recorded from CDs, then found the tracks broken up to appear as separate "Albums". I have a 5-movement symphony, which appears as 5 separate songs?

Try posting in a more appropriate forum, as this has noting to do with itunes U - the place where University/college/museums post education material.

can u give clear steps how to load 3 data target at a time by the help of parllalesim

    hi,
create the load infopackage type and give the infopack you need to load.
    create 3 similar process types.
    chain should have this flow
start -> delet index(if cube is the target) -> load target(connect the load process to start process) parallel -> and process -> create index(if cube)/actiavtion of ods(if ods)

  • I can't find my previous ??? concerning if it is possible to load songs from a "non-apple" device into iTunes

I can't fnd the question I asked in here roughly an hour ago - concerning if I can load songs from a "non-apple" device. I have a SanDisk that I'd like to load my songs into iTunes - is this possible?

    A.C.,
These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
Senuti (Mac OS X v10.3 or higher Recovery Utility)
XPlay (Software For Music Recovery &/or Cross-Platform Functionality)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation (and many other potential disasters).
You need at least two full sets of your music, not including what is on the iPod:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and only one other medium is not considered having any backup.
If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer’s internal HD, then create and maintain at least two external sets (any multiple combinations of ExHDs, DVDs, CDs).
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?
Here is a post on developing a thorough backup strategy: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=394618&messageID=1263275

  • Recently downloaded new ITunes.  Can't get my 3rd generation iPod shuffle to load songs in order.  Help????

Recently downloaded new iTunes.  Now I can't get my 3rd generation iPod shuffle to load songs in order.  Never had trouble with the old iTunes format.

I love the new version of Grid view but some of the other changes feel like they still need some fine tuning. And I miss cover flow even if I didn't use it that often...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before).
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour.
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (but perhaps it does more)
If you want to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.
