Loading sounds via inserts

Like everyone else, I have the Garage Band sounds and the Logic internal sounds that came with the program. I also have jam pack orchestral.
What's happening (or not happening) is that some sounds from each load when I pull down the insert arrow and assign them. Others don't and I get a message that they can't be found.
What's that about?

In the folder called sounds, there is a folder for ringtones. However the files will show up in all songs, so you have to create playlists.
you can store anything on the memory card and access them later just like a USB drive if that's what you're asking. Could you a bit more specific?

5230 - Loading sounds Via Computer

The instruction manual for my Nuron 5230 said I could hook the USB to the computer and access the phone as a mass storage device. If I have ringtone files that I've downloaded, which folder do I put them in when the Windows Explorer window comes up?
After I have the files moved onto the phone, how do I access them?
Also, how do I store stuff on the memory card and then access it later?

Logic Pro 9 - Not able to select plugins via Inserts / Audio Units.

I have the program Logic Pro 9 version 9.1.6 (1700.43) (32- bit)
I use plugins like for example SampleTank and Realstrat . Everything has until recently worked fine, but I now have a problem.
When I choose a plugin I usually put the mouse on the box 'Inserts', press ALT and then a menu appears. Here I, among many menu items, at the bottom see ' Audio Units ' . At this point I usually could choose, for example SampleTank , .. but now I can only choose Apple features. That is to say - I can not choose my plugins in this menu anymore.
I've been around online and search . Here I was recommended to delete a file called com.apple.audiounits.cache . I have done this, but the problem is not solved.
I also have updated the operating system with latest MacOSX10.7.5 update . This has not helped .
All my plugins are also visible in Logic Audio Units Manager, and I can see that they are being loaded when Logic starts up.
The plugins also still works in projects created within the problem occurred. That is, - I can open for example SampleTank in a track in a project that is created and a half years ago.
So the exact problem is that I, in new projects, is not able to select plugins via Inserts / Audio Units .
Can you help me solve this problem?

I do not think it is complicated at all. And you do not have to press down for several seconds. I just timed, it is 0.4 seconds of clickholding. The holding is functional: you won't load a new instrument (and possiblly loose any work you had done on your sound) just because you accidentally clicked on a slot.

You are basically saying it should be dumbed down to the level of some "any-kid-or-adult-idiot-can-use-it-out-of-the-box" smartphone app. I think you are overlooking that this is a Pro program, not a toy. I think you try to blame the software for the fact that you didn't know how to operate it. You're avoiding responsability. That's my view.

Power mac G4 933mhz keeps making that Loading sound after everything is loaded?

Everyting loaded as always. But now the continual loading sound does not stop even though everything works fine. What could it be

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

IMac doesn't deliver sound via BOSE active speakers. Why?

Tried to connect my imac with the BOSE Companion 2 active Speakers, as i always did before. Since i moved here i was too lazy to set it up again. Now i wanted to but theres no sound. Boxes have energy, the two are connected to each other and the cinch cable is connected with the imac, but it still plays sound via the integrated speakers and i cannot change this. Theres nothing to choose in the settings but play sounds via the integrated speakers. Why??

Make sure you have connected the audio cable's mini plug to the audio output jack on the iMac & not to the iMac's audio input jack & that the plug is fully inserted.

My phone no longer outputs any sound via it's speakers

My phone no longer outputs any sound via it's speakers. I can hear sound with headphones and also if it is connected by the dock connector it will output sound to whatever it is connected to.
I have tried plugging and unplugging headphones several times thinking that it is stuck in headphone mode but that did not resolve the problem. I tried a factory reset in case it was software related but that didn't fix it either. The phone is out of warranty.

For 1/11/11 expert day: can hear sounds on headphones but no sound via the internal speakers

HP Pavilion dv6135nr Notebook internal speakers have stopped working. I can hear sounds on headphones but no sound via the internal speakers. A search on HP customer care for my notebook yielded the download recommendation below, even though I had not stated my problem. However, executing this download did NOT resolve the problem. Please advise regarding resolution to inoperable speakers. I do not know if all of my sound and audio settings are correct, but the mute is not on and the volume controls are properly set. The default device is Conexant High Definition Audio output, per the sound and audio devices properties hardware tab the device status states "this device is working properly." Is it possible that a Skype or Foxfire update is in conflict with this device? If so, how do I resolve this situation?

Everytime I use my headphones for more than an hour or two, the **bleep** audio will not play on my notebook's speakers, just through the headphones. Usually restarting a few times resolves the problem, but not this time. If I knew that HP computers sucked this much I would never have spent so much money on this one!!!

5.1 Sound via HDMI in Windows 7

Hi there,
I have a MBPr and have got the sound working via internal speakers and also can get surround sound via the optical connection. I'm trying to get surround sound working via the HDMI port though, but so far have had no luck.
The system reports that there are only 2 channels available via the HDMI. Orginally it had them listed as nvidia HDMI Digital Audio, but after me messing around it's just labeled as generic HDMI Audio.
Has anyone managed to get this working correctly? If so which drivers are needed as Windows just installs the generic ones. I've tried the Cirrus Logic and also the nvidia drivers, but they aren't recognised.
Any help would be appriecated.

No sound via mini display to HDMI connector

Hi all,
I have the i7 8G ram version of the X1 Carbon (UK version) and love it. The only issue I have with it is in relation to the mini display port. I use a lot of HDMI equipment so immediately bought the mini display to HDMI connector from Grifin, see http://store.griffintechnology.com/video-display-converter but whilst video exports fine no sound is being output via the HDMI cable and end up sound via the X1 speakers which are great for personal use but useless in a large room full of people.
I already contacted Griffin support and they quickly referred me to Lenovo.
All help much appreciated.

When you have a video or sound file playing, go to Control Panel, Sounds, Manage Audio Devices.
Then when you are in Manage Audio Devices, you will se a list of devices and the external device/TV your mini display port is connected to as one of the options. Just choose the one you want and set it as your default audio device and the sound should automatically go to the selected device.

Loading Facelets via ResourceHandler

Hi there,
can anyone tell me what's the main difference between JSF 2.0/2.1 and JSF 2.2 regarding to "Loading Facelets via ResourceHandler".
I searched many articles and discussions and regarding to Flows and reosource library contracts there are some thinks that are not really clear to me and might be still in discussion
In my opinion facelets and resources are loaded the same way now. The loading mechanism is unified now. But what does this mean.
Are Resources within the Facelets or Views are loaded relative to their path now ?
E.g. a view located in /x/y/z/view.xhtml will load its resources from /x/y/z/css/style.css when using <link type="text/css" href=css/style.css"/> and not from the resources folder ?!
It would be very helpful for me if anyone could provide a simple example or a link where i can the right information, because it's one of the 6 big ticket features ed burns is mentioning in every article and presentation i saw, but the background is not completly clear for me :-/

ATV definitely supports AC3 DD 5.1... etc, but definately not through AirPlay, only streamed through the inet.
I also found, in the case of Netflix, that the AC3 is preserved in the highest bandwidth mode but not available in the lowest. (frankly i did not test the intermediate bandwidth)
I was quite pleased with the sound and picture from Netflix.
I am not so patiently waiting for AirPlay to support AC3 DD or DDPlus because I record my home video in %.1 surround (AVCHD) and can preserve it through Final Cut Pro and DVD or Red Laser, but cannot use the intended cable replacement (AirPlay) to play them.
Bummer..
I think/hope if more people request surround sound via AirPlay Apple may then follow through on this otherwise good idea.

Hello Everybody,
I want to use a dvi to hdmi cable to transfer graphic and sound via dvi to the tv. Is this possible?
I allready installed realtek high def. audio driver and amd catalyst software suite but no sound over dvi, only over system speaker.
Any idea ?

this is not possible with the integrated GPU. There are certain Nvidia graphics card that allows you to do this. But none of the Lenovo shipped Nvidia graphics card has this ability.

Apple no longer sells ringtones... Besides you never needed to buy them because they're easy to make! All you need is DRM free music (burned from cd, iTunes +). Read this link for instructions:

Play DVD with audio sound via Airport Express speakers

Is it possible to play my DVD with audio sound via my Airport Express speakers?
I can play music with iTunes trough these speakers, it would be nice if I can hear my DVDs aswell.
iMac intel core duo Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Not using Front Row.
The real issue here is that audio and video stream at different speeds and it is hard to maintain sync. You know how when you hit play within iTunes it takes a while for the song to start through the speakers? It's the same with the DVD. So you'd need to work an offset into the audio when playing a DVD and it's not an exact science.
You can download VLC player and mess around with the offset, then you'll also need a program like Airfoil to be able to force audio through the airport express.
