Loading Textures in CS5

When I go to load a texture in the Texturizer Filter from one that I created, I see a hard edge no matter how I scale it. I tried saving my created .psd textures at the same resolution as the presets, and even tried doubling the file size, but no matter. I still get the hard edge. I tried featuring the edge, but then I see a gap.
How were the preset textures created, so that no edge appears at any scale?

As I scale up and down, these lines move across the image.
I'm not clear on how a seamless pattern saved as a psd file will eliminate the edge.

    I have brush selections in CS5.5 which are not in CS6. Do I simply "Load" them from CS5.5 or drag them into Brushes folder (6).

    thanks. This worked. However one custom brush I created, as instructed in a Photoshop tutorial for making backgrounds, does not show in the 5.5 folder when I try to Load into 6 while in 6.
    The other non-default brushes (flames), downloaded from a site, DID Load into 6.
    Screen captures indicate brushes list in 5.5 & 6. You can see the custom flames brushes DID Load from 5.5 into 6 (first 3).
    Also see them in screen capture 6 numbers 256 - 400 fourth column.
    But the "Rec Brush" in 5.5 list doesn't even show up in 6 in order to Load it.
    BTW what's the M Brushes (5.5 list)? Don't see that in 6.

  • Loading Textures in the Filter Gallery Texturizer

    I created a few seamless tiles in PSD format to be loaded into the Texturizer filter under the Filter Gallery in CS6 on a Windows 7 machine.
    In the flyout menu, there is an option to LOAD a new texture. I loaded four or five new ones, but only the last one is visible in the list. From all I can tell, I will always have to load a new texture there to be able to use it. The default textures are always loaded : brick, burlap, canvas & sandstone.
    In the plug-ins section of the Preferences, there is a check box for : Show all Filter Gallery Groups and Names. What does that do?
    Is there something I am missing that would allow me to add a dozen new textures and make them always accessible in the Texturizer plug-in?

    It enables/disables the showing of all filter gallery groups and names.
    Look at the Filter menu with the preference unticked. Then tick it and look at the Filter menu again - there will be more submenus of filters which are accessed through the Filter Gallery plug-in.

    Unfortunately, you're not missing anything that I know of. The majority of Photoshop's filters need an overhaul to bring them into the 21st century, but I guess that'll always be shoved to the bottom of the "to do" list until Adobe hires a significantly larger Photoshop software development team.

    I'm trying to load a texture from a png wich includes an alpha channel. Inside my texture loading routine I use some code along the lines of:

    That works fine as long as there is no alpha channel within the texture files. If there is, it just gets completely ignored. The imgContext I'm drawing to just sets all alpha channel values to 0xFF, leading to a completely opaque image view. Any idea what one could do, to get a correct RGBA texture?

    Yeah, stupid me. I did that memset but overlooked, that I used an old function that set all the values to 0xff. Sure there was no transparency. Thanks for your post - it made me look again and fixed the issue.

  • Textures in CS5 Extended

    I am pretty  new to photoshop Cs5 and i am not really familiar with where files are inside of the actual program.  I was trying to follow along with a you tube tutorial and it told you to open your "textures" folder and select the "puzzel" texture and when I looked for it there was no folder for textures at all.  The path I followed was .  C/ drive- program files x86-Adobe-Adobe Photoshop CS5-presets- and then tried to find a folder named Textures and there was nothing there.  I have attached a screen print of the folders that are in my presets.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I would find this folder?  I am completly lost.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me on this i really appreciate all of you out there who are always eager to help out us newbies 
    PS- I am using Windows 7 and if it matters i am using the 32? bit instalation of Photoshop.

    Zeno is talking about the subfolder within extra plugins package.  The package is delivered as a zip file that contains subfolders.
    You will want to copy the Textures subfolder from the extra plugins package to your hard drive into:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets

  • .dlx-files not loading in PPro CS5

    Hi Community,
    just upgraded from PPro CS4 to CS5 (no Trial). I tried to move the .dlx-videofiles from my Sony DSR-DU1 HDD Drive to PPro CS5 and it says "File Format not supported". The same file on the same machine worked just an hour ago with PPro CS4. Officially .dlx-files are supported (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WSd79b3ca3b623cac97fa024001235833a568-800 0.html), but i can't load them into PPro CS5.
    Though Adobe states that .dlx-files are supported they can't be imported to PPro CS5.
    What is the problem?

    I'm not sure what wasn't compatible, but that list wasn't updated - the VDU support was lost in PPro's port to 64 bit native.

  • How do you load brushes in CS5?

    I have jumped from CS2 to CS5. I am using Windows with the Vista operating system.
    I can't seem to load brushes.  I have loaded the .abr files in the Adobe>Adobe PhotoshopCs5>Presets>Brushes folder.
    When I go to load brushes none (including the preset) of the brushes are are in the window. It says" the folder is empty."  The brushes are listed at the bottom of the brush menu but there are no thumbnails of them under the brush presets.
    How do I get them loaded?

    You are correct, after hours of playing with this last night I finally figured it out too.  I can't remember the original default path, but I navigated to the folder I had put the brushes into, and they were there. I was able to load them successfully.
    I think this is a problem for a lot of people.  I was checking on the web for the answer before I tried Adobe customer service.   The unanswered brush queston is all over the place!!

  • Not able to load Flash Pro CS5.5

    I installed the full version of Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5. After that when I reopened the application every time it asks for new serial number. I have 7 serial numbers with my product. I gave those serial numbers one by one whenever it asked. The serial numbers are completed and it shows an error that "This serial number is not valid for this product". Flash Pro is not loaded. Then I install trial version. It also shows the same error and continue to use as trail radio button is in disabled mode. Now What can I do? Give me any solution please...     GridBagLayout will make arrangements to display the JPanel at the size its layout manager says that it needs. To help the JPanels layout manager we can let it know that we need extra space to show the rendered image.

  • HP Designjet PDE can't be loaded in PS CS5 (can't choose paper type)

    In Photoshop CS4 we used to be able to use HP's PDE to choose paper types among other things.  In Photoshop CS5 we get the error:
    "The bundle 'hp_designjet_pde' couldn't be loaded because it doesn't contain a version for the current architecture.  Contact the bundle's creator listed here for the latest version.  hp designjet PDE v4.1.0"
    The PDE works great in Illustrator and other CS5 applications, just not Photoshop.
    This is running Design Premium CS5 on OS X Snow Leopard with an HP DesignJet 130nr.
    Any ideas why this is happening, or how to get Photoshop CS5 to recognize the HP drivers?

    Right Click (but dontt tell Steve Jobs) > Get Info, run in 32-bit mode.

I have CS5 and also CCS6 can't get that Pixel Bender or Oil Paint filter in any of them.  I keep trying!!  Any suggestions are very much appreciated!!
