Loading Twitter usernames and photos to contacts

Is anyone else having trouble loading Twitter usernames and photos to contacts on the iPhone 4S? Twitter is working fine, and my contacts are loaded correctly. But when I go to settings and click on the option to load Twitter usernames and photos to my contacts, the status bar acts as if it's updating the contacts, then says "0 contacts updated."

I have tried several times but it kicks me back to the home screen after a short pause. No status bar. Twitter app seems to work ok, but not from System Pref.

How do I delete my Twitter username and password from iPhone 4?

I upgraded to iOS5, and when i was setting it up I put in my username and password but I thought it was just for the App and not in the settings of the iPhone itself. Every time I delete the account under setting, it comes back! Why?
I do not have the official Twitter app, I use Echofon.
And every now and then my Twitter account comes back to the setting after i delete it. I really want it gone for good from the iPhone's setting.

Try this, I did it on an iBook that someone gave to me because it was slow.
1. Reboot
2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime. (command + s on newer Macs)
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now
4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and your good to go again!
Apple stores wont reset it for you. Computer shops may charge you $50 to $200 trying to reinstall the Mac OS and failing at end.
NOTE: This will not work with the classic OS, only OS X.
What this does is tricks the Mac into thinking that OS 10.? was just installed. It will play the intro video and then guide you through setting up your new account.

Abbreviated sync sometimes only does apps and photos - not contacts or iCal

I have noticed recently that sync, which was fine for a long time, now often seems to work but goes very fast and only backs up and then does music, apps and photos (which have no changes). It does not seem even to attempt iCal or contacts (which do). This seems normally to be when the iPhone has changes but the Macbook does not.
Simply clicking on the 'sync' button will eventually trigger a proper sync, but this may take several gos (often I still get an abbreviated sync) and seems odd anyway. Behaviour is eventually fine and the clocks are synced of course (& settings are normal and static).
Any ideas?

Did you reset the phone and see if there's any different behavior?
Did you try to reset iSync history?

Photostream loading and photo sharing contacts

I'm still trying to figure out this iCloud thing. Two questions
1. When setting up a photo share stream, do the recipients need to have an actual @icloud.com email for their emails? Both me and my parents use gmail addresses for our icloud devices.
2. My photostream currently has 935 photos. I took some photos today on my sony camera, connected to my MacBook Pro this evening, and only 12 of 62 photos uploaded to photostream. All 62 show up in my photo albums however. Frustrated with this, I reset my modem, signed out of icloud, deactivated and er activated photos on icloud, reset both my mbp and ipad, turned photos back on, and still no luck. Then I took a couple photos on my ipad and both showed up instantly in my photostream. I have 935 photos in my stream with about 50 that haven't uploaded yet. In iPhoto, where it usually says "uploading 235 photos" it doesn't say anything. What do I need to do to make this happen?
Maybe I'll sleep on it and like magic it will be better in morning.

on the mac/iphoto, move photos in the Photo stream group into some other album.
foatbttpo1567,In iPhoto on a mac you need to download the photos to an event - not an album. An album would only reference them in the photo stream, but not store the photos in the iPhoto library. Turning on "Automatic Import", as Old Toad suggested, will do that and create monthly events.
I'm told that by having the import feature in iPhoto turned on, those photos will stay in iPhoto on my iMac forever - or at least after I pass the 30 days/1,000 most recent photos limits.
The 30 days/1000 photos limit applies to the temporary storage in iCloud - the time you have to grab them and to import them. Once they are in an event, you have them safe.
So that leaves me to ask: what am I supposed to do with the photos on my phone? Just leave them there to eat up storage? Or delete them at some point? Delete all the photos on my phone after I import those that Photostream hadn't already captured?
Photo Stream is a handy feature for transmitting photos, but don't rely on it for permanent storage. If you ever have to reset your iPhone or reinstall your Mac, or to reset the photo stream, your photos from the stream may be gone. Keep always a copy of your photos either in the Camera roll on your phone or in iPhoto events on your mac, and make sure that these copies are regularly backed up.
As for the "truly duplicates" - Photo stream will send optimized versions to the devices, but to a mac the full original version. You may want to read the FAQ: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

so in my firefox there's no browser history. when i try to clear the cookies and cache, i can't. and everytime i try to load my facebook, my twitter and youtube, it always says "the connection has timed out. twitter.com is taking too long respond." and i check my internet, it's fine. so please help me

Check to be sure your anti-virus is allowing. But the fact that you can't clear cookies makes me think Malware maybe involved. I would run an Malware scan to be sure.

Slow Loading of Media and Photos: Not Solved

I've seen this referenced in multiple threads here and in other forums, but I haven't found any real solution. Plenty of suggestions, but none that actually fix the problem.
The issue: On my 8100 Pearl, under both OS 4.2 and 4.5 (multiple builds), loading the Media application takes 20 - 30 seconds, and loading the Pictures section takes even longer - a minute or more. It's just unacceptable, and nothing seems to fix it.
I've tried pulling the battery, very carefully quitting everything, freeing up all available memory, using a microSD card, turning on Memory Cleaning, etc. And nothing changes. I'll have the problem no matter what combination of things I try.
And please note that I'm not talking about loading up a massive collection of hi-res images. This happens when I try to load a collection of a half dozen photos taken the the phone's camera.
Anyone have a real solution for this?

Auto loading of username and password are taking place on one site and only one site and I do not want this to happen but can"t get it to stop.

As my question states I don't want auto loading on any site and it only happens on this one site. I have went thru tools and options and there are no sites listed for auto loading. There are no saved passwords. If I go to the site using Internet explorer the problem does not occur.

Problem loading iPad Music and Photos onto iMac

Recently did an erase and complete install of OS 10.6.8 on my iMac. Synced all of my photos and music to my iPad IOS 6.1. Cannot get my photos and music back onto the iMac. Followed all of directions given in iPad Guide. Using USB connection.

Will the Scotty app from Galarina upload the synced photos from my ipad to my iMac? I was given the impression by the Apple tech that I talked to that I could upload the photos that I had synced from my iMac to my iPad after I had completed the erase and reinstall of OS 10.6.8. Unfortunately, I think he gave me incorrect information.

What happens if you go on Twitter, click a phishing site, give your username and password to it (because you never knew) can the hacker also hack into your iPod Touch 4th generation?

Okay, so I went on Twitter and some chick replies to a tweet and she sent me a tweet going like 'you guys were doin what here, looks confusing' then sends me a link. There was no tweet conversation or anything but being an idiot, I pressed the link (I was on my iPod Touch and it's 4th gen) and it got some 'time session ended' or whatever. Again, being the idiot and regretting it, I typed my Twitter username and password. Then it showed some 'cash' thing I don't even know. I searched it up, it was a phishing site and I changed my password for the third time. I hope you're still reading this because I'm very desperate for help. If I did press it, will the hacker hack my iPod too? Thanks! xx

Nope, they can't hack you iPod. The can (or could) log into your twitter account and change the password so y no longer control the site.
If you used the same password for other sites/serves change those too.
You might also want to change other information information in the twitter account like secret questions/answers since maybe they already logged into your account to steal that data and plan to use that information at a later date.

Do I need to keep all my music and photos on my pc after I sync them?

It appears I must first load all music and photos onto my pc, then sync them to my iPad or iPod. Ok. Now I have all this data in 2 places..the pc and the target device, which is a gross waste of pc space. Can I delete all these things from my pc after they've been synced to the target, or must they stay on the pc forever??? Can't I delete from my pc all that's been synced, then if I want to add 1 song just add that song to what's already on the target, or must I reload EVERYTHING all over again just to add 1 more song?

If you manually manage the device the you can remove the content from the PC after you have put it on the device. However this isn't the recommended way. At some point you'll probably need to restore it which involves wiping all the data. If you don't have all this data to hand then you'll have to try to recover it from a now problematic device first. It's much easier to sync with your library - yes you have two copies, but that's not a waste, it is prudent. As long as you have two copies you can afford to lose one knowing you have a backup. In practice I keep a complete backup of my library, in addition to the subsets of it that I can put on my devices.

I dont understand as she has never been on either item. Also when it is automatically add your name it is also says katie Brownson. Please can you show me how to change this.

The My Card is an option in the Card Menu.
Manually searching the cards it is the one with the Head and Shoulders icon.

HT1766 I loaded the software fix for face time and it wiped out my contacts and photos. can I restore them?

I loaded the software fix for face time and in loading the new software I lost all of my other content (WITHOUT ANY WARNING). This included my contacts, photos, music. The music I can restore and losing the contacts is an inconvenience, but losing the photos is devastating.
Any ideas?

What software fix for FaceTime? What software did you apply?
Did you backup your iPhone before you updated it with whatever update you applied as described in HT1766? If so, did you backup to iCloud or iTunes? Either way your data should be restorable from that backup.
