Loading web auth bundle for pass through

I have created a web page using the web auth template that I downloaded from Cisco.  Am I just supposed to upload the TAR file that I created from the wap folder or do I have to upload the entire bundle that I downloaded from Cisco created as a TAR file?
Thank you.
I have attached the files I am using and cannot get them to load on the web browser when I click on preview.  The login.tar file loads onto the controller with no problem and reports succesful installation.
Seth

You need to use a Linux/unix box or else on windows you can use 7-zip, pico zip or power archiver.
Per this doc
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.2/configuration/guide/cg_user_accts.html#wp1183650
Note
If you load a webauth bundle with a .tar compression application that is not GNU compliant, the controller cannot extract the files in the bundle and the following error messages appear: "Extracting error" and "TFTP transfer failed." Therefore, we recommend that you use an application that complies with GNU standards, such as PicoZip, to compress the .tar file for the webauth bundle.

  • Customized Web-Auth Bundle

    Hi
I am trying to upload a customized web-auth bundle to a WLC 5508 and having some issues.
I have downloaded the web-auth bundle from Cisco and used this as a template to create the web pages.
I seem to recall that there is only a couple of Windows tools that you can use to TAR the file such as TUGZIP and IZARC. Anyway I have tried both and I still cannot get the file to extract. I have tried to strip the file out so that I only send up the login.html page and even this does not work.
    I am using a software release 7.0.220.0
The error message I receive when I do a TFTP is
    Error extracting webauth files.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Greg

    Hi Greg:
I hope you find the answer here:
You can compress the page and image files used for displaying a web authentication login page into a.tar file for download to a controller. These files are known as the webauth bundle. The maximum allowed size of the files in their uncompressed state is 1 MB. When the .tar file is downloaded from a local TFTP server, it enters the controller's file system as an untarred file.
Note If you load a webauth bundle with a .tar compression application that is not GNU compliant, the controller cannot extract the files in the bundle and the following error messages appear: "Extracting error" and "TFTP transfer failed." Therefore, we recommend that you use an application that complies with GNU standards, such as PicoZip, to compress the .tar file for the webauth bundle.
    Reference: http://tiny.cc/rbqbfw
So double check the size and tarring utility.
Try to use WinRar or 7Zip if the tarring format is the issue.

  • WLC Custom Web Auth Bundle sample .tar file is not on WCS

The WLC documentation would make it appear (or maybe previously) you should download a sample web auth bundle code from the WCS Templates. I was never able to find a sample .tar file on the WCS 7.0.172.0 templates.
However I found on Cisco.com under Support > Downloads > Products >Wireless> Wireless LAN Controller Standalone Controllers> Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers > Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller > Wireless Lan Controller Web Authentication Bundle-1.0.2  > webauth_bundle-1.0.2.zip
It was updated in June 2011, some pretty good sample html code.
The readme.html in the sample webauth_bundle-1.0.2.zip file has been very helpful , almost as good as the suppport community web page on custom web auth.

WCS config guide 7.0.172 is correct
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/temp.html#wp1129979
The bundle in WCS is downloaded through :
    configure->controller
"select a command"-> download customized webauth bundle.
Just tested it and it was there.
The one on cisco.com is better though

  • WLC 4404 5.1.151.0 - custom web-auth bundle

Ultimately the user needs to see a custom "splash page" without having to authenticate. I have successfully installed a custom web-auth bundle that appears when the WLAN Web Policy is enabled, but without any authentication, there is no access to the outside.
Is what I'm trying to accomplish possible in some other way?

You will not be able to do this unless you use some 3rd party hotspot utility. The main reason you should have an accept button is to be able to display a terms and conditions for users to read if they wish. This will protect you from an legal troubles. You can try to write a script on the html page (you can keep the page blank and hide everything) that will activate the accept button, that way you can redirect them to your web page.
Try to add this to your html page:
    setTimeout("submitAction()",20);
Hope this helps... just make sure you keep you html page blank.... by setting the background and text to white or any color of your choice.

We had the same issue after applying the SP2 & August CU. we open the case with MSFT and get the same resolution as you mentioned.
I blog about this issue and having the office reference.
Later MSFT release the Hotfix for this on December 10, 2013 which i am 100% positive should be part of future CUs.
So if you apply the April CU then you will be fine.

    Hi,
I don't think supressing through Global Personalization will change the business logic. Within the Business Logic it checks for the mandatory field.
After the changes I guess you need to make the changes accordingly.
The below link might be of some help.

  • Web-Auth page for mobile device ?

    Dears,
How to do the page that can check NB or Mobile device, and redirect the  difference login page ?
Need external server or can work in controller's custom page ?
    Thanks.

The detection or what we call profiling is done after the device associates. Cisco ISE can profile and determine what type of device it is. However prior to association, there is no way to push devices to a specific splash page.

  • How to install Web Auth. Bundle on WLC 2504

    Hi,
I need to install a Web Auth bundle and when I download the file from cisco's webpage, its a .zip, but the WLC asks for a .tar file, so I converted it to a .tar and tried again but then it said file was too big.
Can someone please instruct me on how to do it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Javier

    Hi,
the .tar file size (no more than 1Mb

  • Pass through scenario in SAP PI with no mapping for File to IDoc and Idoc to file scenarios

    Hi Experts,
Can i have step by step process in SAP PI for pass through scenario with no mapping in case of file to Idoc and Idoc to file both cases please.
    What objects i can skip.
My PI system is 7.3 dual stack.
I have seen below blogs, still its confusing to me.
When and how to create an scenario in SAP PI without mapping objects.
Pass Through Scenario with no Mapping in PI 7.1
    Appreciate your help on this.
    Regards,
    Mohan.

    Hi Mohan
In pass thru interface you don't need to create any ESR objects, only ID objects are required.
Just Create a Receiver Determination and Receiver Agreement for your scenario (no need for Interface Det. and Sender Agreement).
Specify the IDOC in the Sender Interface and namespace as urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
Or instead of creating objects manually, Run the wizard with Idoc name/namespace in sender/receiver interface

  • Multiple Web Auth Pages

I have looked through the forum and think that I have found the answer to my question but I just need confirmation of my thoughts.
We are using a 5508 WLAN controller running software ver 7.2.110.0 and LAP 1142n AP's.
What I would like to do is to configure multiple guest WLANS for each of our regional offices. Each of these WLANS needs to be configured with a Web Auth page relevant to the office location. My question is this, can I have a Web Auth page for each location or just 2, the default internal page and 1 customised page?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Pass-through printing

At my work some people are getting mac's and we are trying to get support for our legacy systems. One of the features of our legacy systems is to be able to do pass-through printing from a ssh session. I got our key mapping working in Terminal.app and everything else works great except for pass-through printing.
I've searched the web and found nothing about pass-through printing and mac's. Some ssh clients like Secure CRT and SSH for windows has this feature. Especially the feature to enable raw mode printing.
Can anyone help me in finding a Mac solution to this problem? I thought Terminal would have this ability but I am unable to find the solution.

I would think RAW mode would be an issue for the printer driver that you have selected as your default printer.
The original print-through was for a printer directly attached to a real VT100 terminal.
If you put raw printer codes in a text file and then use the command line lpr command, does that do the correct thing? If not, I would again assume this is a printer issue, or you need to get the terminal emulator developers to build some kind of translator for your raw data to your printer so it will make it though the default printer driver.
NOTE: I am just speculating. I really do not have any experience with using pass-through, except for what I found via a Google search and that one 'echo' command I did above.

  • Web Authentication Bundle

    Hi All
I am currently playing aound with the WLC Web Auth Bundle.
I need to do Guest Access using a Proxy Server so obviously the Web Auth doesn't work unless you configure the client to locally bypass the 1.1.1.1 address. This isn't practical for the clients so I was thinking of using the Web Passthrough function.
I have successfully downloaded the Web Auth bundle that gives me an acceptable usage policy page and the login page with an entry for the client's email address. I now want to edit the login page and then download the Web Auth bundle again.
Does anyone know how to overwrite or delete the existing Web Auth bundle on the WLC?
    Thanks everyone.
    Regards
    Roger

Does anyone know how to overwrite or delete the existing Web Auth bundle on the WLC?
ANS - Currently no way.. we have raised the enhancement request and the bug ID is CSCtf51294 and the link as well..
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtf51294
The bug is resolved and will be out in next 7.0 Release..
As of now, we can try downloading the new Web auth bundle and then this may overwrite the existing one..

  • WebElements: configuring pass-through html on server

We ran into a problem trying to deploy the pass-through html setting on BusinessObjects XI.  We followed the instructions in the webElements User Guide 2.47.  For Java based environment.
Added a context-param to web.xml in <BOE install dir>\Tomcat55\webapps\Crystal Reports\WEB--INF.  Then, we tried to redeploy BOE web application: wdeploy tomcat55 -DAPP=BOE deployonly
This failed with "APP property not set" in /deployment/wcommon.xml:66.  Apparently, there is no BOE.properties file, so we may have used the wrong APP setting in wdeploy.
Looking again at the guide, it could be that a .war file needs to be redeployed as an application from the deployment console (I didn't have access to this).
I also saw "instructions" searching the community where CrystalReports.properties would also have to be appended with pass-through html, after stopping tomcat.
    We'd appreciate your help!
    Thanks

    hi Roger,
for xi & xir2 you have to use the 2.46 version. once you download that version check the JavaParams.txt file on setting the context parameter for pass-through in the appropriate web.xml file.
Download webElements for Crystal Reports XI & Crystal Reports XI Release 2

  • Web auth not working on new controllers

We are currently experiencing a problem with web auth on one of our sites. This uses WiSM2 controllers running version 7.2.110.0 of the software.
The affected SSID is set up for web auth exactly the same way as our other site and that works (although that uses WiSMs running 7.0.230.0).
Both sites use the same web auth bundle and the same certificate. We have a DNS entry that points back to the virtual interface IP they all use which is 1.1.1.1.
When users connect to the SSID they are not being presented with the login page. Running a preview on the controller at the problem sites shows the correct page that should be being displayed.
The controllers have had the certificate re-applied, the web auth bundle reloaded on and have been upgraded from 7.2.103.0 to 7.2.110.0 but none of these have resolved the issue. All other SSIDs work fine, but this is the only one that uses web auth.
As I say, the only configuration difference is the hardware (WiSM2 vs WiSM) and the software level.
    Any suggestions?

When you mention that the login page does not open, that usually means that is a DNS issue. Make sure that you allow DNS from the guest subnet to the DNS server in which the FQDN of the certificate is being resolved.
Are you anchoring the guest ssid to an anchor controller? It would be the same troubleshooting, but make sure the anchor is configured correctly. The foreign wlc guest ssid needs to have a mobility anchor to the anchor wlc and the FW needs to allow DNS back in if your using an internal DNS server.
If you are not using an anchor wlc, the best way to test is to map the guest to another dynamic interface on the inside network that is working. If that works, your FW is blocking DNS on the guest subnet. You also can remove the FQDN (make sure it was entered correctly) from the VIP and test. If that fixes it, then DNS was not resolving the certificate FQDN.
    Hope this helps

  • Custom Web Auth Splash Pages

I've seen it menitoned in a few places that there are sample web auth splash pages located on the WLC that can be uploaded and modified. I've also hear that there are some sample pages on Cisco's website, but I am unable to find them in either location. How do I access these sample pages?

    Jason,
The sample web-auth bundle is located in the same location as the download for the controller code.
    http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/type.html?mdfid=282600534&flowid=7012
there is a link there for the Webauth bundle
