LoadRunner + Weblogic
Has anybody used LoadRunner with Weblogic? We would like to simulate
HTTP clients and do some load test. I assume LoadRunner is multithreaded
so our concern is: would each thread simulating a client be recognized
as a different client by Weblogic = different HttpSession per client
thread?
In fact, what identifies a client: its IP address + port number I
suppose?
Is there any good freeware HTTP load tool out there?
Thanks

Have a look at Microsoft free web testing tools, we have had good success
with simulating upwards of 500 clients with a pool of 4 machines...
It is located at : http://webtool.rte.microsoft.com/default.htm

In my experience with the product, I simply specify the correct URL andtold
the web bench product to go get it.
I was doing simple gets. No problem. If this product is giving you
trouble, I suggest looking at one of the commercially available loadtesting
products.
Thanks,
Michael

What is BEA upto..I don't understand.
Well, I downloaded the webbench, installed it and before running it wentthrough
it exhaustive documentation.
And when I didn't find any clue on how to perform tests on a dynamiccontent
site which is designed using the JSP as its tech., I emailed the people
at
Webbench...and this is what they say about it.
Thanks for writing. We're sorry, but WebBench does not currentlyinclude
dynamic tests that
use JavaServer Pages technology. You can still use the static tests,and
depending on your
the OS you're using on your Web server, you might want to try the
appropriate dynamic tests.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about WebBench.
ZDBOp Benchmark Technical Support
I am not complaining about anything....but when we hear from the expertsand the
makers of the product..so let the information be very authentic.
Need help on how to load test the weblogic web server (the site isdesigned in
JSP)..
immediate response in this regard is much appreciated.

describes completely the different mechanisms that are used.
Is there any good freeware HTTP load tool out there?Personally, I recommend the WebBench tool available at
http://www.WebBench.com/.
I have also heard good things about the Microsoft tool though the 15minutes
I spent on their web site was unable to produce the link for download.So I
have no personal experience.
Thanks,

Loadrunner and WebLogic / ALSB
Do you know if LoadRunner supports WebLogic version 9 and 10? If so, how can I configure the EJB_DETECTOR so it generates the scripts I need to test an EJB? If not, do you know when it will support the lastest versions of WebLogic? So far I have tried to create scripts for an EJB deployed to WebLogic 9 and 10 servers and to create a script for a web service on ALSB 2.6. All failed.
LarsThe SOA Suite forum is the most appropriate forum for Oracle Service Bus / AquaLogic Service Bus questions.
SOA Suite
You can absolutely run more than one project on the service bus at a time. The sbconfig.jar is just a packaging of components (even multiple projects) to move from environment to environment. When you import an sbconfig.jar into another server, you simply just add it's contents to the existing projects already on the server. If you have a more detailed question, please ask in the SOA Suite forum. -
Limit of Weblogic for servlet requests
Hi,
Could someone tell me what is the limit on the number of servlet requests per
second a weblogic server
can handle.. We are facing some performance issue.. Would like to know the limit
that WLS server can process
at a time.
Thanks in advance,
rgds, rams
Thanks Robert - I had the same results on 4-way E420 (and slightly less for
session-less JSP). Don't you think it can be potentially useful to have some
'baseline' results to be available for some most popular hardware/JVM configurations ?
(Of course, these numbers have nothing to do with an actual application performance, but
they are useful in establishing the 'upper limit' - something like HelloWorld servlet,
HelloWorld JSP with session=false, HelloWorld JSP with sessions enabled).

Fri Dec 01 11:04:40 GMT+05:30 2Hello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

Installation problem on Weblogic 10.3.2
I'm trying to install BI on Weblogic 10.3.2 under Linux. I followed the instructions in the installtion guide and edited the xmlp-server-config.xml file to change the file path to /home/repository/XMLP
under /home/repository/XMLP I have Admin, DemoFiles, Reports and Tools that I copied from my windows stand-alone application.
When I start BI I get a oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: ${oracle.home}/xdo/repository/Admin/Scheduler/quartz-config.properties
any idea?I had same issue with Oracle Weblogic 11g R1 (10.3.3). The problem was with the contents of the XMLP folder (not the path as the error message would suggest). The XMLP folder I was referencing in xmlp-server-config.xml was the one generated by the OBIEE installer and also configured by me using OC4J (to make sure I had a known good configuration before trying a deploy to WLS). For example, i had configured the JDBC connections and Installed the publisher scheduler tables. The fix was to use the default out of the box XMLP folder from the install media. Now the application starts without a hitch. \biee_windows_x86_101341\Windows\Server_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher\

Issue with JPDs in my weblogic application
I have a weblogic integration application running on WL 8.1 SP5. There are 2 JPDs and 2 web services in the application. I am having an issue in the live server when the application has been running for quite a while. One of the JPDs stops working. The issue is resolved by redeploying the application. On redeploying from the weblogic console, the code starts to run again!!! Has any one come across such an issue? Is this something to do with server settings? I would welcome any suggestions to solve this recurring issue.

p_type_edition varchar2(150);
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package XXAPINMO_PKG;
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY XXAPINMO_PKG
AS
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean is
BEGIN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'p_type_edition ' || p_type_edition);
IF p_type_edition = 'Y' THEN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case Y');
ELSE
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case N');
END IF;
return true;
END beforeReport;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package body XXAPINMO_PKG;
Then I launch my concurrent program with 'Y' in parameter and I see the log of my concurrent program :
XDO Data Engine Version No: 5.6.3

Calling XDO Data Engine...

But normally it should be 'Case Y' which would be written ...
And when I see the XML via Diagnostic I don't see the parameter however I add <property ...>
I really don't understand ...
Maybe do you have an another idea ?

Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g
Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
Thanks
GavinAre the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?

ThanksHi
1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
Thanks

Assigning a node value from an XML variable to a String type in Weblogic Process Integrator
Hi,
Is there any way to assign a node value from an XML variable to a String variable
in Weblogic Process Integrator...
Thanx.
Narendra.Nerendra
Are you talking about using Xpath on the XML document and assigning to a
variable, it is unclear what you are asking

<property name="mappingDirectoryLocations">

*<value>file:D:\saas-mappings</value>*
</list>
</property>
I have extrached all the *.hbm.xml file to above location that is D:\saas-mappings.But now the application is giving me above mentioned error.The error says that it is related to Named queries.I am pasting the contents of a sample *.hbm.xml file having named query as a sample

-Sameer GijareHi,
For a tutorial with source on how to create and deploy a simple quickstart JEE5 JPA enterprise 3-tier application on your Oracle WebLogic 10.3 server - see the following example that uses the EclipseLink JPA provider. You should be able to transition all of your mapping information (the @ManyToOne and table/column overrides and named queries for example) using either JPA via entity annotations or native extensions if you do not want to implement EJB3.
see...
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

Does anybody knows what must be going wrong?
Can't I deploy EJB 1.1 jar directly on Weblogic 10.3.0.0 or I need to change or configure something before doing it?Does the ejbCreate() method of the com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb class have an exception on it's throws clause that is not present on the ejbCreate() method of your home interface? If so, does the error go away if you add the exception to the home's ejbCreate() method? In general, you want checked exceptions in a throws clause to match between the interface declaration of the method and the implementation of the method on the bean class.

A Tip for using EJB 3.0 with WebLogic Ant Tasks
I started out writing this up as a problem, but then I found the answer so I'm, posting a tip instead.
When I tried to write an EJB [stateless] using EJB 3.0 in my legacy Weblogic ear project I started getting this error:
<pre>
No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'test'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
</pre>
This is why: wlcompile will put the class files in the App-Inf/classes directory unless it finds an ejb-jar.xml file in the META-INF directory for the module it is working on. With EJB 3.0, I wasn't using an ejb-jar.xml file because it was unnecessary. Later, Appc runs and it complains <b>because there are no classes module directory, they went into the shared ear folder instead.</b>
Here's I how it working again: Use javac [not wlcompile] to compile the EJB 3.0 module and make sure that the class files go into the correct module directory. Then you can use wlappc to generate all the associated files for the EJB. I have sucessfully deployed an ear file that uses both EJB 2.x and EJB 3.0 with this approach.
I wish Weblogic's own ejb3.0 sample application used their split directory deployment.
Good Luck.
John AronsonHi John,
I am working on development an enterprise application using EJB 3.0 on Weblogic 10.
While developing, I am keeping all my classes (from ejb's as well as web) into APP-INF/classes directory. It is working fine for Web and ejb 2.0 packages, but ejb 3.0 packages, I get the following error when I keep my ejb 3.0 beans classes in APP-INF/classes directory.
No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'customer'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
One solution is to keep the classes under customer ejb directory, but I wan tto keep all the classes in APP-INF/classes directory so that when using Eclipse IDE I can output all compiled sources into APP-INF/classes directory.
Has anyone faced this situation? Any suggestions to fix this issue? -
