Type in Symbol for a Stock: I get back the chart.
Type in Symbol for an ETF: I get nothing...well a blank page anyway.
PPC or INTEL same result. {Safari 2.0.4}
Dumped Safari Cache. Tiger Cache Cleaned. Same result. Stocks 1 ETFs 0.
Thanks for the discussion "won't load secure page" below since it will give me some other ideas to try. I'll probably keep my broker and wait for the next version of Safari till this thing plays out. If anything works...will report.

Yes that was going to be my suggestion too is how does Firefox handle it? The only other thing I can think of is do you have pop-up blocking disabled? That might not have anything to do with it but I've noticed on several bank sites and also Ameritrade that with pop-up blocking on it gives some problems. By the way, Ameritrade is mostly ok but has a glitch or two with Safari as well. Funny thing is the home page doesn't even load properly with Safari. You would think their designer took a look at something other than windows huh???

Firefox won't load parts of web pages or let me log into certain websites

I don't quite know how to really explain this, so I'll provide two examples of the problems I'm experiencing:
The first is that, whenever I go onto any of those Wikia sites, Firefox doesn't seem to load anything other than the main page content. By this, I mean that it won't load any "Recently edited/added pages" box or "Recently uploaded images" box on the right hand side of the page, nor will it open the Contents tab to navigate different sections of the main page content itself.
Another problem I'm having is logging in to a website I usually frequent. It uses Facebook, Twitter and/or Google+ to log in, and the site has recently started running on Flash and Silverlight. Up until a few weeks ago, I am unable to log in to this website for the same reason as the example above - it just doesn't seem to load after clicking to log in, yet the rest of the site is fully functional.
In regards to the former example, I did manage to do something with Java that managed to fix it, however when attempting to emulate the solution when it happened again, nothing happened. I'm unsure of what the problem is. Can someone help?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Airport Extreme Not Loading Secure Pages

I have two machines, a Macbook Pro connected by WiFi and a Mac Pro connected by Ethernet Cable to an Airport Extreme. The Airport Extreme is connected to a Cable Modem. The symptom is a failure to completely load a Secure page. A typical example was trying to make a donation to Wikipedia. The succesion of pages load OK until loading https://paypal. The page load then hangs with 39 of 40 items loaded. However, some Secure pages load OK. I've also noticed a slowdown for all page loads, secure and non secure. These symptoms dissappear when I connect my machines directly to the Cable Modem via Ethernet cable. I've power cycled the Airport Extreme and the Cable Modem, and reloaded software onto the Airport Extreme with no change in symptoms.

Have you tried clearing your cache, and cookies?
Try that first before anything else if you haven't.

Only secure pages load

Only secure pages will load in firefox and safari. Anything that isn't secure will show a white page while it says "waiting for www.(website).com" in the status bar in the bottom left hand corner, and eventually stay that way and display "done" in the bar. The secure pages do load, but sometimes they take forever. I am on a wireless network on my college campus, and everything was working fine until a few days ago. Ideas?

Gah nevermind my nephew was using my account and kept clicking the littlesnitch notifications to make them go away. Little bugger managed to block everything on port 80 http. Time to set up a guest account.

FLASH CMS websites - secured pages

Hi,
I’m looking for a way to build FLASH websites, which the user will be able to edit and control its content himself. You know, a CMS website, but then totally build in FLASH. I already started Googling on this a bit and came across these 2 things

especially that last one looks interesting, but it does cost a 300 dollars for 1 website, which maybe isn’t that expensive, given it’s apparent completeness and easy to use interface, but I still want to explore other potential possibilities.
What is needed on the website, is the possibility to add text, pictures , videos and extra pages by the user himself. Also, and maybe this is the most important / difficult, there has to be the possibility to make secured pages where the client can view his pictures without downloading them à the man that’s needs this website is a photographer that wants to offer his albums to the respective client for which he made the pictures, online. 1 client should be able to watch his pictures on 1 secured page of the site, another client should be able to watch his pics on another secured page of the site, without being able to download them... I hope you know what I mean, I’m sure you know what I mean.
I believe this is possible with FCMSPRO on the flashloaded website (between the keyfeatures list on the website I see: ‘Allows for multiple users with different file upload permissions’ – so I assume that the man will be able to provide costumers a password with which they can watch their pics online, without down- or uploading something themselves?)
Is there someone that can help me on this? Is there anyone that has had some experience with FCMSPRO, Flashcontentmanager or other CMS systems already? I’m curious if I’m going to get out of this. If it will be worth deepening myself in this, or if it will be best to tell the photographer to find someone else for this job.

The method i showed above does have a front end and a back end. The code i posted above would be part of the image module in the back end for deleting images.
1. You don't put images and files in the database, you create an uploader that uploads the files (pictures, whatever) onto the server and then writes an entry into the database telling it where the picture is stored, what the name of the file is, what type it is, whatever you need. Then when your website connects to the database and downloads the info and stuffs it into arrays, it iterates through the photo array and downloads the photos as needed using the URL you stored.
2. Loading into the database is covered with the above tutorial but i'll post my database retrieval code anyway.

flash CMS isn't well covered, i spent a long time looking for tutorials and i definitely didnt find any that worked well. If you're still working through the basics like AS3 tweens, loaders, and loops, then you're going to want to figure those out first. Those are supported well online, though.

Part of Web page not getting displayed in IE6.0

I m facing an strange problem, my saftware was properly working in IE 5.5 but when i check it on IE 6.0 part of web page which gets loaded through a Servlet does not gets properly displayed, ie the lower portion gets hidden, to an extent of surprise if i resize page manully then it gets displayed.

Hi,
In all probabilities thats a display problem rather than codes. Try different settings on your computer. If not try running that on someone else's comp whcih has ie6 but does not have a refresh rate problem. Even if you think that migth be code related you might try a javascript function to resize your page on the body onLoad function.

To add to this, if you prefer you can separate your JavaScript from your JSF pages.
Add a folder (I named mine 'js') to your application's ViewController project's public_html folder.
Via JDeveloper, create a new JavaScript file inside your newly created folder and place your JavaScript functions inside it.
You can then 'load' the .js file using the method Shantala described, with the addition of an added 'source' property to the af:reference tag.
(This can also be a URI reference to a JavaScript file hosted on a web server)

A solution is to use <trh:script>.

then in place of the above code use:

You have not provided much information we do not even have any idea of the device type or OS you are using.
The site you link works ok for me. Try reloading the page using Ctrl + F5 if that does not work then try clearing cookies for the individual site.

If you have to restrict access to a whole page which is not part of a BTF, it will be enough to secure the page's PageDef. It is not necessary to wrap the page in a BTF.
If the page is part of a BTF, you cannot secure it alone but you can secure the whole BTF only. Permissions on a BTF are propagated to all the TF activities within the BTF (including the view activities - pages and fragments).
If you need to apply security policies only on particular components within a page, then you can use EL expressions like #{securityContext.userInRole['MyRole']} in order to exclude the necessary components from the view tree (e.g. using components' "rendered" attribute), to hide or disable them (e.g. using their "visible" and "disabled" attributes), to make them read-only (e.g. using their "readonly" attribute), etc. Have a look here for other useful EL expressions:

For example, you can use this approach to secure menu items and command components (e.g. buttons and links) in other pages that navigate to a secured page or BTF. Is the problem where parts of the page don't show up only on firefox?

facebook parts of it and other websites are not showing up anyone else have this problem on other browsers it works fine.. it seems a firefox problem with the recent upgrades.

Can you spot any pattern with the missing content? For example, is it specific to pictures, videos, etc.?
Also, have you noticed any issues with security certificates? Many sites now use HTTPS connections, and Firefox may exclude insecure content in secure pages, or fail to retrieve content from a server that has an invalid certificate. The solution for this depends on the reason for the errors, which can range from Firefox not being fully set up to work with your security software to having malware on your system or a hijacked connected.
More generally:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
You can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* click the padlock or globe icon to the left of the address in the address bar, then More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page (and if the site requires a login, log in again). Does that help?

3.0.4 and vista opening ONE secure page!

Hi All, have safari 3.0.4 running on my vista pc. I want to switch from IE7 to Safari and overall I like the look of it better and most pages load ok including https:// pages apart from one https:// page which Safari just states it can not make a secure connection to although this message is instant and I do not see any network activity or evidence that it is even trying to do so.
However, 3.0.4 running on Win XP loads the page no problem so it would appear to be a vista issue ? If this is the case why would all the other secure pages load ok on vista. The one secure page that won't load is the one I really need and as such as yet I can not stop using the dreaded IE!!!

In my case it's with all HTTPS sites, including OWA, commercial sites (Earthlink, United Airlines, Hilton, etc.), and proxy-protected RSA site at work. The popup says cannot make secure connection to xxx (the URL). It happened right after I ran the 10.4.11 automatic software update from the Apple site. Didn't change any settings or preferences other than what the update might have done itself. Firefox running on the same machine still connects to the HTTPS sites as before. I was hoping to hear something from Apple now that it's been almost a week since the update was released, but so far no joy.
