LoadVars with Mysql database

I'm using this example found here:

And like the tutorial shows I am loading data through php
from mysql. The problem is when I create new frames the information
from the mysql database wont go away and keeps loading in. Please
take a look at the picture:

Is there someway of clearing or unloading this data before
the next frame loads?

Your classpath can be edited from Control Panel > System > Environment Variables in Windows NT, 2k, XP. You need to include the path and filename of the jar file, ie.
D:\lib\mm.mysql-2.0.14\mm.mysql-2.0.14-bin.jar
Or you can define the classpath at compile time, using
javac -cp [classpath] [filename]

Strange problem with MySQL database

Hello,
I'm totally puzzled by a strange error occurring with PHP/MySQL on my website... I hope someone has got an idea of what's going on and can let me know.
In short, I have a MySQL database set up on the remote server where the website is hosted. Some pages of my website access this database with PHP.
If the website is viewed with a browser in Windows (Firefox), it works well, the database data appear on the pages.
If the website is viewed with a browser on Mac OS (Firefox, Safari), it doesn't work: the database isn't accessed, I get no error, just everything on the page below my PHP code is missing.
I've attached two screenshots to show this. The website URL is: http://www.cerc.co.uk/CERC/v02/
The pages were this occurs are: the home page (index.php and alternative index2.php), the Abous us/News page and the About us/News/Archives page.
I really don't get where my mistake is. I would like to keep the remote server connexion details outside the root folder, but I guess that if there is no solution to this problem, then I'll have to move it back (I think it might have worked like that).

I'm using DW CS4 on Windows XP emulated via VMware on Mac OS 10.5 (don't ask why, I wasn't given any choice). I've set up a localhost server on XP via XAMP and the news database is also there.
Because I'm currently flipping often between the testing server and the remote server, I quickly got fed up to change all the time the connexion mode to the database (localhost or remote server) and have to resynchronise the files each time. Hence I decided to automate a bit the way the database is connected to.
1. These 4 HTML pages with PHP code have got the below two lines when the PHP code starts:

2. mysqlconnexion.php (see code below) calls a "connexion" file (in PHP) depending on the value of one parameter ($conxchoice). If $conxchoice = 1, the "connexion" file on the localhost is called. If $conxchoice = 2, the "connexion" file on the remote server is called. I've stored the appropriate version of mysqlconnexion.php on the localhost and the remote server (and I have checked it a million of times, they're in the right place).

I would guess that a first hint of solution lies in the comment block, but I've really tried everything I could think of to work with relative path/absolute path respectively, unsuccessfully.

How do I create a java installer for windows, because I have a project that uses mySQL database.
Anyone please help me....

If you have eg. a desktop application which needs a database, but don't have/ need a database server, which is accessed by several instances of the application (which seems to be the case, otherwise you wouldn't want to install it along with the application), consider an embedded database such as Apache Derby/ Java DB.
Then all you need is to ship some jars and make sure they are on the classpath.
If you're using JPA and generate the DB schema, then switching DB vendors should be quite easy. Just reconfigure your persistence.xml.

Can I use Oracle APEX with MySQL Database

We are looking to create a performance dashboard using Oracle APEX for our client, but the application database is MySQL. Is it possible to create reports in APEX using data from MySQL database? If yes, are there any specific steps to be followed or any additional setups needed?

Hi Sameer,
it's not possible to use apex on mysql, as stated above me by several persons.
If you havent got any oracle database in your organization, apex would be an expensive choise unless you use the free Oracle XE (express edition), which has APEX embedded.
There are some limitations to XE but with a bit of smart thinking it wouldnt be much of a problem.

In short:
- XE will use 1 CPU even if you have two or more in your system
- There is a 4 GB data limit
- RAM memory usage is limited to 1 GB
- 1 installation per computer
You can use XE as a reporting database. This will relieve your mysql database from heavy reporting processes, too.
The XE can be used as a mini data warehouse. So you have to transfer and transform the relevant data from mysql to your XE instance.
After that you can start building report screens etc in the embedded Apex .

Can not connect Fusion Web Application with MySQL database

Hello to everybody, I have installed jDeveloper since 3 days ago and I am still not able to run a simple web application just to try! I have worked previously with Eclipse and NetBeans but none of them had sooo much errors related to everything. I pasted the JDBC driver everywhere in the jdeveloper folders, to JDK and JRE. To be clear, I created a Fusion Web Application, created an AppModule, tested the conncection with the database and it was fine, created a simple jsf page and added one DataView from the AppModuleDataControl to the jsf file. Everything is ok and when I want to run the jsf file I receive this error:

I pasted the JDBC driver everywhere in the jdeveloper folders, to JDK and JRE.
The MySQL Connector Java JAR files are not found in the runtime class of the web application as indicated by the error message java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError, msg=com/mysql/jdbc/DatabaseMetaData

Help on working with MySQL databases in Dreamweaver

I am new to the world of dynamic webpages. I have been
following along on the Lynda.com videos Dreamweaver CS3: Beyond the
Basics, and Dreamweaver CS3: Dynamic Development, and have
basically got it figured out for doing stuff on my local computer.
However, I can't quite figure out what steps I have to take so that
I can take my database driven site live. I use hosting with both
ASTHost and GoDaddy. My hosting with each, I believe, is on Linux
servers (GoDaddy for sure Linux, ASTHost may be MS). I am designing
with DW CS3, and using WAMP as the PHP server on my pc. I am also
using MySQL version 5.0. My PHP version is 5.1.2 with ASTHost and
GoDaddy.
Can anyone point me to a good tutorial or site that explains
how to move the site from your own pc at home onto a hosting server
and make it work? I have tried a few things, but keep running into
MySQL errors.

I have seen a good solution at http://webdesignsolutions.co.in/add-phtml-extension-in-dreamweaver , this is very simple.

Phpmyadmin connection issue with mysql database on local computer

Got mysql and phpmyadmin installed on my iMac. I open phpmyadmin site in safari and try to login to the database and I get the following error:
"Safari can’t open the page “http://imac.local/phpMyAdmin/index.php?lang=en-utf-8&token=872752b265e4d375dddae b18d06bd85b” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later."
I can connect to the sql database okay from the mysql manager gui just fine. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your QUICK and CORRECT reply! Yes, creating the _mmServerScripts folder in my SSL folder on my remote server did the trick!!
I did try to setup a testing server using one of your tutorials, but I received FTP errors. Since I have a working website with remote and testing flagged on the same server and for my ease of understanding, I copied the setup as closely as I could (less the SSL add-on). Mind you, I originally setup that website 3 years ago, so I'm a bit rusty. I'm not a web developer and don't do this for a living, thus I get by with instructions from the books I own, web tutorials, Adobe forums, etc., but I have not taken any classes. It's not my choice to work with PHP, but I have to in order to pull data from database tables into my web pages. Since I don't do this for paying customers, I don't have to setup anything too fancy (thank goodness). I would like to know how to debug and write java script code, but I lack the time and patience (mostly patience).
Besides...Adobe does such a good job with their products, that I can get by pretty well without having to know everything.

A few facts:
1. You NEED to have the JDBC driver jar on the Java classpath
2. You don't NEED to have the jar on the Windows classpath
3. You don't NEED to 'override' the Windows classpath - you can just append the JDBC jar to it
Just use #3 above - edit the Windows CLASSPATH environment variable and add the JDBC jar to it. At it at the start and follow it with a semicolon. Or at it at the end AFTER adding a semicolon.
Or specify the CLASSPATH on the command line when you launch Java. Use the '-cp' or '-classpath <class . . >' options. Just type 'java' at the command line to see the list of parameters that can be used.
