Loan Auto approval while requesting in ESS

Hai all,
I am having a requirement that while applying a loan req in ESS that request should not go to the manager for approval.
It should be approved when it is applied. So that the status should be approved when applying itself.\
So when i run the report it will post the request in infotype 45.
what is the necessary setting needs to be done so that the request will be approved when sending itself.
Kindly give some suggestions.

Thanks for ur valuable response. There is a small twist in this. Am having three type of loans in which two required approval one does not required any approval.
Am using the standard Wd 18900041and using the BADI HRPBSINGET_APPROVER to find the approver and sending the request to approval through WF.
So how can I achieve the auto approval functionality for that one type of loan alone???
Can I follow the following steps
1) Deactivate the WF in config.
2) Restricting the BADI to find approver only for the other two type of loans.
Pls give some suggestions.

ESS Auto Approval Leave Request

Goodday all,
I'. trying to create a WF which will have a step tp auto approve a leave request after 5 days of submission to the approver. I have made a copy of the standard WF12300011 and have included 'modeled deadline monitoring' step just before 'request approved?' step. This is where i'm stuck, once teh deadline is obsolete, i will need to create a new step to automatically change the REQ.STATUS to 'Posted' OR 'Approved'. How do i do this step? or is there a better way to do things? Thanks in advance

1. As you said that you hvae a copy of the standard workflow so when the Modeled Deadline monitoring is reached any ways a outcome will be included in the WF template , so what you can do is in that outcome you include a Activity which uses the method of conatiner element REQ which will have the current request instance
REQ type is cl_pt_req_wf_attribs so in this class you hvae a method with name APPROVE so use this mehtod in the Activity that you will create in the modeled deadline monitoring outcome. this will approve the request and when ever the report RPTARQPOST is executeed the approved request will be posted into the respective infotypes.
If you hvae any more queries plz let me know, because i also had the same issue and i fixed that in the above mentioned way.

How to stop auto approval of requests by xelsysadm ?

Hello OIM-SOA experts, when I submit role request using xelsysadm user, the operational level request is auto approved eventhough I have custom approval in place. But requests submitted by others will go for approval process. How to avoid auto approval of xelsysadm requests for opearational level ? Is it possible to configure this ?

Unable to approve leave request in ESS

Hi
    While trying to approve leave in ESS/MSSm getting the following error
    After clicking the link in SAP inbox / Universal Work List in MSS an error is encountered.
    In R3 we have analysed the error in ST22 transaction which says--
The current application triggered a termination with a short dump.
There is no data for infotype 0105,personnel no. 0 E .
Kindly suggest what to do..???

Error while approving Leave request from UWL

Hi Experts,
We are getting following error while manager clicks on Universal Worklist to approve Leave Request. On system we have assigned ess id to employee no. 43 in IT 105-0001 but it gives error message about employee no. 167 which has nothing to do with this leave request.

Hi Ashish,
Short text of the error message:
"No data exists in this period for infotype 0105 and employee 00000167
This clearly suggests that the employee data is not up to date.
Go to Tcode : PC00_M40_CLSTR
here 40 is the country coding or the Molga value for India. Like wise which ever country you work for, enter the country code there instead of 40.
Enter the pernr as 00000167 and you would find till which date the payroll for 167 has been run successfully.It has to be in green color.
If the payroll is not run till the period in which you are getting the error ( which obvisouly is what the error means) try running the payroll by going to the Tcode : PC00_M40_CALC or you can ask your HR team to run this payroll for you and you are good to go.

Hi Raj,
There are a number of issues that could cause this. Can you share your scenario (where is manager approving the request - via SAPGUI, ESS, MSS?) Are you using an SAP standard workflow?
Plus, there are lots of threads in SCN on this topic. Have you checked any of these?

BSP error while applying a Leave request in ESS

Dear Friends,
Reposting an issue which I posted earlier in ESS Forum as I didn't get solution there and the issue is more technical and moved towards Netweaver applications.
While applying a leave request in ESS portal, I am getting an error page saying Business Server Page error.
Checked related SPRO Nodes: Both ESS UI5 and ESS (Java) nodes. They are maintained. Being HCM Functional Consultant, this error I am not able to analyze anyway. So asking Portal /Netweaver experts here.

500 internal error while approving leave request

Hi All,
One of my user when trying to approve leave request, he is getting the following error. it was working previously but suddenly thsi error has come
500 internal server error
Application error occurred during request processing
Details: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.Dispatcher exception: The requested deployable object 'sap.com/ess~lea' and application 'leaverequestapprove' are not deployed
Can anyone advise on this error please!!!

Hope you are doing good.
Do make sure that all ESS related applications/services are running.
Please try to restart the applications this way:
1. start the telnet admin tool
telnet <hostname> 5<instnum>08
2. logon using the J2EE Admnistrator user
3. lsc (to list the available servernodes)
4. jump <servernode> (usually jump 0)
5. add deploy
6. start_app -all
Please have a look at the below for more information:

Error - While changing existing leave request from ESS

We are trying to use the standard leave request application in ESS/MSS. The basic required standard configurations are done. Since we wanted custom notifications, the related workflow is copied into custom workflow and we have included required custom notifications. The custom workflow is also configured properly.
Now, the standard functionalities like making leave request, triggering notifications, approving leave request and posting information into backend are working fine from the ESS/MSS.
When the employee tries to change the existing leave request (before approval) from ESS, at the 2nd step (Review and Send), it is displaying one error message General task: can be edited by all users. But, it still allows submitting the records.
Once it is submitted, the system throws one java error at the final step (after pressing SEND button) u2013 Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator. - java.lang.NullPointerException. The complete error information is provided in the attached word document. Even though, it throws error the submitted data is getting saved into the backend.
Please help to solve this issue.

What custom notifications you require in leave request? We have all available in standard using Rptarqemail
First of all, the WF task should be set as
General task: can be edited by all users, which you have done presumably under task classification
Now, for checking purposes, can you check with standard WF in table v_t554s_web for one absence only?
ie WS12300111.
Please test this and let us know if you have errors
Also please check your custom WF whether it is working correctly or not?

Auto approval for self registration request in OIM 11G R2

We have a requirement where we want end users to be able to self-register without needing any sort of approval. We are using OIM 11G R2 with the latest patchset.
The way to do it in 11G R1 is explained in the following document:

Configuring Auto-Approval for Self-Registration - Fails due to Organisation

ESS/MSS: Approve Leave Request in UWL - not working

Hi to all,
we are using web dynpro ESS/ MSS (SAPESS07_12/ SAPMSS07_4) in portal NW04s for mySAP ERP2005 and are using UWL in order to approve leave requests. If employees are creating leave requests, everything works fine. After that the manager opens the leave request in UWL, the web dynpro application is openening succesfully and after some clicks he reaches the buttons to approve or reject the leave request. But by pushing one of them the following messages occures :
Workitem 000000000000 Cannot be read
After pushing the button again, another message comes up:
No Customizing for status typ ARQ, Status approved...
By the way, the same errors also come up when the employee wants to delete his leave request which is not approved.
Any ideas, what can be the reason?

I have found the reason. The user WF - Batch in sap erp, which is using the RFC Destination for workflow, was locked. Well, it is a a little bit strange for a cummunication user that he becomes locked. Unlocked him, now all works.

Auto Approval Workflow for leave request Management.

I am working on leave request Workflow i.e WS12300111.
Now i have to implement the auto approval of workitem if the approver doesnt take any action in 3days.
1. i have implemented deadline monitoring i.e in Latest end tab
refer date/time :- Expression Date : %DATUM% Time : %UZEIT% 3 days Action : Modeled Display test
Outcome : Reminder Mail
In outcome tab i have activated Processing obsolete.
i have created an activity if the deadline is reached so that it should auto approve the workitem.
in that activity i have created a copy of class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS created 1 method auto_approve. and used function module PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE so that it will change the status from SENT to APPROVE.
But when i apply leave in portal , workflow starts but it doesnt reach to branch auto approve after the deadline is reached.
Please suggest is the deadline monitoring implemented correctly or not .
whether the auto approve method used is correct or not
or there is another solution to this
I have checked the SWU3 setting and it is green.

Leave Deletion requests get auto-approved

Hi,
If an approved leave is deleted in calendar view then it does not go for approval to manager. Instead it gets deleted immediately
What is the reason for this ? Std behaviour is required that the deleted leave should appear in red color and when manager approves it, it should be deleted and turned to white color in the calender to indicate that the leave is deleted.

I think it depends on the leave you mentioned posted or not.
As far as I know the flow of leave approval is look like this:
1) User submit leave request
2) Approver approve
3) Schedule job post approved leave to ERP
It is marked as approved in both stage 2 and 3, but if the leave is still at stage 2, user can delete the leave without approval, while approval is required at stage 3.

When person employee A requests for leave it goes to Employee B being the manager in Org assignment.
But when CEO applies for leave as no body is there on top of him , I want to make HR Director as the agent to approve the leave request.

There are two BADi's which can help you to deal with ESS leave requests PT_GEN_REQ and PT_ABS_REQ. just try to check out the above two badi's . There is a method in the default implementation class with name FIND_DEFAULT_AND_RESP_ACTOR..
