  • Loans for projects

    Hello
I am implementing loans management for our client and have hit a situation.
The client takes loans for various project (created as projects in PS) and the costs are to be booked to the project.
    1. Please let me know how this can be done.
    2. Also there are situations when only a partial amount is to be capitalized, is this possible.
    Thanks for all your help
    Best Compliments

    Hi,
As a standard solution, the expense flows are booked against Cost Centre from Loans Posting.
By implementing BAdI FVD_LOAN_POST, you can manage your requirement by diverting posting to WBS element instead of Cost Centre while posting capitalized expenses/charges from Loans Contract with a derivation code logic.

  • When will I get an email confirming my loan for Education?

    Hello,
I have applied for a Finance on my laptop Macbook Air 13" (for installments in a period of 10months) and it's been more than a week since I sent the required documentation for the loan by post (I live in the UK). Since then, I haven't heard neither from my bank nor from apple and I want to know where the process's gotten to and when I will have my laptop delivered. I am planning to call either the bank or apple tomorrow to see what's going on. It will be highly appreciated if anyone else's been in my situation and have some answers. Thank you!

  • Beware the loaner phone for international travel

Just got a loaner for Europe-if they try to give you an HTC Imagio, hang up and go to another company. I can't believe Verizon has junk like this in its inventory. It's an old Windows-based phone (must have been a real big winner for Microsoft). The tech in the Verizon store spent 1.5 hrs trying unsuccessfully to transfer my contacts from my Droid. No go. The phone is slow, very difficult to use., not intuitive in the least. Thanks, Verizon, for treating me like your worst customer. Even the techs in the store say its a bad phone. Can't wait until my contract is up. Bye, bye.

You should have SIMPLY ASKED FOR A MODERN ANDROID Moto Droid Pro/Droid 2 GlobalHTC Incridble 2 and other phones.
VZW needs to get rid of the OLD PHONES with the OLD SOFTWARE that are CONFUSING AS HECK to the CONSUMER.

  • Fico Model used for Home Improvement Loan?

I've done a bit of searching for this without finding a straight answer. Does anyone know which Ficos are used for a HI loan? The mortgage Ficos? Fico 8s?

    smackmaster wrote:
To answer my own question and maybe help someone in the future. I just applied at a small bank here is TX that specializes in HI loans for swimming pools and they used FICO 8 scores, not mortgage scores, which surprised me becuase it is essentially a second lein. It's a YMMV situation; mortgage scores are explicitly dictated, but home improvement loans are likely all portfolioed and as such the lenders can and do make their own UW choice of scores.

  • Approvers for the loans

    Dear gurus
User wants to send the loan request in ESS, while sending the loan request, user should be able to select the approver through the drop down or by giving the userid/emp id (incase of drop down all the employees in the dept or  the list of all emps should appear in drop down), then the workflow should trigger to that approver, once the approver approves the request, the approver should be able to select the next approver and send the request to next level approver and so on.
Is this the possible way in ESS. If possible please guide me how to do this
    OR
In the above example, first level approver will be selected by the sender , then sub sequent approvers should be uniform, ex. Employee send loan request, to first approver by selecting his userid/emp id then after approval , the workflow should trigger to predefined approvers is this possible if so plz let me know how can be achieved
Ex. 1. Emp 1 loged to ESS, fill the loan request all the required fields while sending the approver will be select in the drop down, then sends . the approver receives the same approves, then the approver selects the next approver and sends and so on.
    Or
2.in the same above scenario emp selects 1st level approver through the dropdown , then after the 1st level approver approves the request, instead of the approver selects the next approver, the system should take care of next approvers i.e workflow should trigger automatically to the next agents.
    Regards
    kumar

you may want to consider the following from you business process perspective first before we get down to the solution-in-sap
    1. Do you want the ess-user to select the approver? I know I want a loan for some big $$ and I know I have a friend higher up in the pecking order so I choose to send my loan application to that friend instead of the application going to the proper authority via automatic agent determination,... ahem rings any bells?
    2. decide how many levels of approval are needed and by who, when I say who, there must be a way you client hass financial authorities structured for e.g. person x has a financial authority of up to 10k $$ anything above that but below 50k $$ goes to person y and so  on right? These people could potentially be the cost center owners...
    3. any process which has an element of $$ value attached to it, should also have proper business controls defined for it to prevent abuse and then any such process should also be audit-able and compliant with say sox ....
If you do a proper analysis based on the above the way to implement your ess solution could become a lot more easier.
    cheers

  • Cosigning Student Loans - Learn From My Mistakes - Please Read

I have gone through a nightmare due to a student loan that I co-signed on, and I am creating this post in the hopes that you will learn from my mistakes. Please pass this post on to anyone who you think would benefit, and hopefully save them a lot of heartache and anxiety. My post is lengthy, but please be patient and read it, it could literally save your financial life.Briefly here is my situation: I am the co-signer on a $60K Sallie Mae private student loan where the primary borrower has defaulted on me, meaning they have told me they cannot pay a dime, have no intention of changing their lifestyle to do so, and will not tell me when, if ever, they will make good on this. Meanwhile, as the guarantor of the loan, I have been subjected to the full force of SM collection agency practices, and forced to face the music while the primary person on this loan can blissfully ignore the situation as if it was not happening. After multiple weeks of heartache, anxiety and worry over my financial future, I found in the fine print that if I make 24 consecutive on-time payments, then I am off the hook. I verified this with SM and am now 6 months into paying this off. As long as nothing unexpected occurs, I am looking forward to being off the hook in 18 months, having learned an expensive but not life altering lesson, as I was originally facing. Now let me go into some lessons, please pass these on to anyone you think would benefit - let's make this post the most widely read one on FICO forums, this is so important. And now my hard lessons learned:Lesson #1: DO NOT COSIGN A STUDENT LOAN: especially private student loans which carry higher interest rates. When you cosign a loan, you are the guarantor: you are putting your good credit profile on the line and telling the loan agency that you are responsible if anything ever happens with the primary borrower and they are unable to pay. All the obligations are on your shoulders, in fact, in many ways you are more responsible than the primary borrower, and this is how the loan and collection agencies will treat you. If you think: that's just the fine print, that will never happen, think again. It happens all the time, are you willing and able to take on this burden if you have to? Possibilities become reality, and this is a reality you do not want to be a part of, trust me on this. If you want to help someone, find other ways to do it outside of the system. Loan them the money as an individual, or pay their rent or expenses, that way, if problems arise, you don't have to get credit agencies, loan agencies, and collections agencies involved. If you are a parent and want to help your child, see Lesson #2.Lesson #2: LOAN ONLY WHAT YOU CAN LOSE: Every rule has exceptions, so the exception to Lesson #1 is this: only cosign on a loan if you are absolutely willing and able to pay off the full loan obligation. When you cosign you are lending your good name and credit profile, and you are effectively loaning money that you will have to pay back if the primary borrower defaults. In other words, never loan more than you are willing to lose, and therefore never cosign for more than you are willing to lose. And be willing to accept that the fact that your relationship with the primary borrower may be permanently damaged if you are forced to step in and cover their obligations.Lesson #3: LOANS GROW: I cannot emphasize this point enough, it really burned me: I did not co-sign a loan for 60K, I co-signed for 45K, and without my knowledge the primary borrower capitalized the interest during the first 18 months of the loan, which they were allowed to do, but it caused the loan to grow by 33%. So when it came time to guarantee the loan, I was on the hook for 60K, which I had never originally agreed to.Lesson #4: SALLIE MAE DOES NOT CARE: And why should they? This is business. As co-signer, you are the guarantor of the loan, you have to make good on the obligation when the primary borrower defaults. In fact, as guarantor, the loan and collection agencies will go after you harder than the primary borrower. Do you have a good credit and collateral, such as a house? Well this binds your obligation even more tightly. When loan and collections agencies see that you have the wherewithal to pay, they will not let you off the hook. And they don't care if paying off their loan puts you on the street. This is business and you have to pay up. Understand this black and white reality before you co-sign a loan. Lesson #5: DON’T DELAY PAYMENTS: Forbearance and deferments are often mentioned as options for helping out on loan obligations, but do not fall into this trap: they make a bad loan situation worse, they don't help. Deferment does not prevent interest from accumulating: you'll just have a bigger loan to pay when the deferment ends. Student loans typically give you a deferment grace period, usually 6 months, before you have to start paying back the loan. Most of us have to use this initial grace period, but please avoid it if you can, it just makes your loan grow larger. Forbearance is another method of delay, but it requires you to make the loan current before the loan agency can talk to you. In other words, you have to be paid up on what you currently owe before the loan agency will talk to you about forbearance. Think about this Catch-22: you can't pay your current loan obligations, so you ask the loan agency for help. The loan agency won't talk to you until you make the loan current. Never use deferment or forbearance, they make your bad situation worse. Lesson #6: NO LEGAL RECOURSE: Student loan debt is not dischargeable in bankruptcy court proceedings, it is debt that you will carry for life until it is paid off, regardless of what happens to you. And don't assume that the loan agency will only take legal action against the primary borrower in a default situation: they will also take legal action against you. Remember, you are equally responsible, you will be held legally accountable. And don't think that you can sue the primary borrower. You can only sue them if you have a separate promissory note with them, signed and notarized, that they have defaulted on. And even if you do, it is expensive and time-consuming to sue someone, especially if they have moved out-of-state, and practically impossible if they have moved out-of-country. You could probably never come out ahead, unless the amount owed was so large as to make it worth it. Unless you are wealthy, or a big organization, do not rely on your option to take legal action in the future, it's often just not practical. Lesson #7: WOULD I DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON?: When you co-sign for a family member, there is a certain level of built in trust in the relationship, but when you co-sign for a friend, or girlfriend, or boyfriend, you are putting your faith in the future: faith that they will be around in the future and that they will always have your best interests at heart. Please wake up. People take advantage of other people all the time. Especially when it comes to money, people get scared and choose to hide under a rock, disappear, ignore the problem as if it does not exist. If you are the co-signer, you are the guarantor. If the primary borrower understands this, then they can choose to disappear and leave you holding the bag. Do not assume that the person who cares for you now will always care what happens to you. Business is business, personal is personal. When you are asked to co-sign for a loved one, ask yourself first: do I want to go into business with this person? How do they resolve conflict? If they get into trouble one day will they work with me? Or will they disappear on me? Do they have a conscience, and will they care how this affects me? Or will they see an opportunity to be off the hook? Ask yourself these hard questions. And don’t assume that they will think as responsibly as you. Don’t assume that they care what happens to their credit score, or what this means for the future. Treat the primary borrower as a person you are doing business with, and therefore someone who you need to rely on when times get tough. Chances are, you are the more responsible person here, so ask yourself, can I really afford to go into business with this person?Lesson #8: PROTECT YOURSELF: If your credit score gets damaged over a bad loan, your total financial life will be affected for a long time. It doesn't matter how good your intentions are, it doesn't matter why you got into a financial bind, it doesn't matter that your family member was sick, or that you were going through a hard time, or that you are low on money because you gave it all to charity. The current system of credit scoring requires you to keep your total financial profile in a healthy state at all times. If you are delinquent on payments, or worse, default on loan obligations, then your credit will suffer and you will be affected for a long time. You will be unable to qualify for loans, you will be unable to get good interest loans. Think about the effect this will have on your family in the future: not being able to afford a house for them because you can't get a loan, because you made a good faith error several years before. That's the reality you have to avoid, so protect yourself at all times.Lesson #9: AND FINALLY: Some people reading this will feel that I am missing the point: that of course loans carry obligations, and of course there are consequences if loan payments are missed. For the record, I relied on Sallie Mae loans to get me through college and grad school. I made all my payments on time, I paid my loans off, I even used the available 6 month deferment. But this only worked because I was responsible, because I had a plan, because I understood my monthly and total financial obligations at all times, and never made a life decision that would compromise my ability to pay. Cold reality: many people in this world are not responsible, they don't think through the consequences of their decisions, they are unable or unwilling to look at the hard facts. When you co-sign with one of these individuals, as I did, you are tethering your good name and your financial future to them. If they fail in their responsibility, they will take you down with them. Do not let this happen, protect yourself, you have worked too hard in your life to let an irresponsible person take you down. I hope you have found this posting useful. Please pass it on so that everyone can learn from my mistakes and hard-earned lessons.

My heart goes out to you. My stomach was in knots for you just reading about your situation. Thanks for the lessons learned. I co-signed a private education loan with my ex husband. I wish I had someone like you back then to sit me down and make me really think. Unfortunately, I was young and naive and never thought twice about co-signing. Even though the original loan amount was small by most standards (less than $8000), here it is 10 years later and that stinking loan is still attached to my credit rating. It's barely halfway paid off with another 10 years to go. The ex is a bit of a deadbeat so after some late payments a few years ago, he has since only made the minimum payments. At this rate, I will be ready to retire when that stupid thing is paid and off my reports. I am very conscientious about my own financial health and have less than $1000 on a credit card, a little of my own student loans, and a reasonable mortgage. BUT because I am forever listed as co-signer of this silly loan, it actually drags down my FICO rating. I could suck it up and pay off the whole balance myself in a few months time....which causes me to feel sick to my stomach. Its my only option besides watching this thing languish for 10 more years.

  • Loan upload from legacy system to SAP

    Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding uploading Loan from legacy system to SAP.
We are implementing SAP HR for a client going live by 1st jun 2011. The scenario is the client has few employees who have taken loan for various reason, i have configured the same through SPRO....now my query is when i ask the client to provide me with loan data:
    1. We are running payroll from 1st April 11, should i ask the client to give me the loan amount as the current standing loan amount
    2. when i am uploading loan in 0045, should i put something in third tab payment
    Thanks for your support.
    Regards,
    Jyoti

    Hi,
This third tab basically create a record for info type 0078(Loan Payments). If you don't have any records in 3rd tab/0078, system will not start loan recovery in payroll.
Find the response for 2 scenarios-
    Scenario 1 & Scenario 2:
maintain these fields in the table control of 3rd tab-
Date(GT_PAYM-ZAHLD) - 01.04.2011....Basically payments and repayments starts date also used for interest calculation
PmntTyp(GT_PAYM-ZAHLA) - 100(Loan payment (external)) ....Contains information on the direction and method of payment. Also control wage type generation in loan PCR and Functions
Amount(GT_PAYM-BETRG) - Balance Amount ....The total of payment or repayment amounts which you enter here, may not exceed the amount that you have entered in the Approved loan amount field on the Basic data tab page ....For your both of  the scenariof, this amount will be same.
    Regards.

  • Imac vs mac pro for FCP?

    Hello folks,
Well, my G5 apparently needs a new logic board. I could cry, or be happy at the excuse to get a new computer... I chose the latter!
Bottom line, what is the consensus regarding imac vs mac pro.
I will be using FCP a lot, that's what I do for a living. However, I rarely run other applications at the same time. Occassionally LiveType or Photoshop, but that's about it. No Motion, no After Effects, etc.
I feel that an imac will suffice nicely and that the mac pro is overkill in both cost and amount of computer. It's like getting an Indy car and driving 40 MPH!
    Thoughts? Thank you.
    Eric P

hmmm, interesting. Of course the mac pro would be better, no doubt. But for my purposes I still wonder if it's worth the cost.
As for Kevan D's inquirey for more info, yes I work with FCP for a living, at least 50% of my work week maybe more is editing. However, silly little ol' weddings have become the vast majority of my work and they will continue to be for at least a few more years I believe. In that time I do not see HD being a factor in my area. So for the forseeable future I expect to be working soley with SD. That bit of info may change some of your minds to thinking that an imac will suffice.
I admit, that's my hope because I would have to take out a loan for the mac pro, and again, I'm just not certain it's worth it for my purposes. On the other hand, I didn't ask the question so that I could hear what I "wanted", I do want honest opinions from other professionals like yourselves. If the experience is that an imac just isn't worth it then so be it.
As far as expandability (is that anything like drinkability??), I understand that, but again for my purposes I suspect that by the time I need to expand to HD or to using the full benefits of a mac pro, a new computer (and equipment) will be in the order anyway. Does that make sense?
    Thanks again,
    Eric

  • Loans Mgt: per maturity different GL account needed

    Hello
What is the technical solution (customizing) for the following requirement? For loans with a term / maturity < 1 year (field in the master data of the CML loan) the GL account for the asset/liability (depending on loan given/taken) is 1111 "Short term loans"; for loans with a term  / maturity between 1 year - 2years should be GL account 1122 "Mid term loans"; and above 2 years GLaccount 1133 "Long term loans"; .

    Hi ,
The requirement mentioned can be satisfied by using valuation class , use the valuation class for differentiating the instrument as  long term , medium term and short term respectively . assign these valuation class  while creating the contract  if u r using money market as a loan instrument then in the  administration tab the general valuation class can be used and in the acct assignment reference u can create the  acct assignment refernce for short , medium amd long term contract .and u can use acct assignemnt refernce as a factor for determining the GL account , similarly if the loan contract is being  created under the  loans management node in SAP banking then you can use loan class a factor  similar to valuation class

  • Rebuilding help- need tips for Capital One Accounts

Hi- Thank you all for all the wonderful information, you make rebuilding seem so easy and attainable! I never realized all the different versions of scoring, how to do debt validation, get errors removed from my report and where to focus my attention. Just 2 months ago my scores ranged between 556-580, today they range from 600-611 so little improvement over the last couple months. Here is the situation I am in. I have 3 capital one cards, 2 of which are platinums with $500 limits and 1 is the old Orchard Bank card w/$300 limit. These cards are 6-8 years old.  I also have a Fingerhut account w/a $1650 limit, totalling $2950 in credit of which $640 is in use so utilization should be about 22% (making a little more headway on this util each month). I have been 100% ontime w/Fingerhut for the last 2 years. 100% on time w/my auto loan for the last 36 months and almost always on time w/Capital one except for 3 months Sept-Nov in 2014 where I went over my balances and accrued over limit charges that brought my minimum payments up. Technically I was still on time but the $50 a month per card I was giving them wasn't enough for the min payment. I was in a tight situation at the time, they reported those 3 months as late for all 3 cards.   I went years before this  paying 100% on time every month but always carrying a high balance so they never increased my limits earlier even though payment history was good. Now that my utilization is down and its been 8 months since the Capital one dings,  I applied for CLI's on these cards and received letters denying the increases as they said tehse late payments are too recent. I read that a lot of people have success w/CLI's after about 6 months. I've called twice to see if they would good will any of those late payments, I was shot down immediately the first time, the 2nd time I had a  nice woman but she wouldn't budge either, she politely told me she went back and looked at those statements and I was indeed not meeting the minimum payments & the only thing she could do was to mail me hard copies of those statements. I really only have 1 major collection on file thats affecting my score for a little over $1000 w/a CA that I've never heard from via phone or mail yet they are accruing charges each month. It showed up in my file late in 2014 for a card that went delinquent on about 2.5 yrs ago. I haven't decided how to handle this collection just yet, PIF right now is not an option for me so before I figure out how I want to approach this I thought I'd try to make some headway w/Capital one first on my limits andutilization. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've lowered my utilization while still using the cards frequently, just paying down more and paying on time but am getting nowhere on goodwills or CLI's and persistence is not my strong suit. Do you recoomend I wait until I have a full 12 months of on time payments before I try again?  I did prequal for the QS card but am afraid if I submit, I'll only get rejected for the same "recent late payments" that they rejected my CLI requests for even though they are going on 9 months old.... Does anyone have luck w/a new Cap 1 card while not having luck w/CLI's? Should I try for another card, Anybody get accepted for Barclays card w/low 600's score? I only have 4 inquiries on my file right now. 1 is old, should drop off next month, the other 3 were recent  apps for a rental property, no inquiries from credit cards in 2 yrs. Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Now that my utilization is down and its been 8 months since the Capital one dings,  I applied for CLI's on these cards and received letters denying the increases as they said tehse late payments are too recent. Once you get nine months out from the last late payment on the account (not just a reported 30, but service charge late) they will allow a CLI if your scores are high enough. Yeah, Cap One is pretty strict with their reporting. Is the OC also reporting that delinquency? If so are they showing an unpaid balance? With Cap One, they like to see heavy usage, and low reported balances. Keep requesting CLI's online until you get some joy - you just need to get far enough away from those lates. Keep trying every month - use the online link for it, don't call them. Don't worry about CLI denials, they won't be held against you in any way. JUst keep plugging away and check the denial reasons. I was getting the same thing all last year until Jan when I sarted getting "score reasons", then they tripled my limits in Feb. Right now you would only qualify for the "average credit" level Cap One cards, and they are an auto-deny for having two or more cap one accounts already. (its stated in the disclosures), so do not app for any more Cap One cards until scores are in the high 600's - then app for the "excellent credit" cards. Since you have a long history with the cards, you might try Barclays (I was approved for Barclays with 618 TU score), but wait until your last 30 day late is over 12 months old. You're actually doing fine, just need to move out a bit from those lates that occurred last year. You might also call and get them converted to QS/QS1 reward cards.

  • Garnishment - Federal Student Loan

I have been asked to configure Student Loan Garnishment to deduct as below when there are more than one active Student Loan Garnishment per employee.
The 25% limit is for the combination of both.  If one school loan is for 15% of disposable net and the second is also for 15% of disposable then it should be deducting 15% for the first and up 10% for the second loan for a  total limit of 25% of disposable net.
Please help if anyone was able to configure special rule in SAP for this.

    Hi Vaibhav,
You need to create 2 non-exempt models with 2 different rules and map it to FED Student loan under table V_T5UG4.
First rule say 001 for single Student loan should have Non-exempt model say /FE1 in table V_T5UG3-
    Limit 1 section=>
    Nonexempt of 15% of Net i.e. Indicator - 2, Value - 15.00 and Unit - 1 (Percent of Net).
    Federal Minimum Wage section=>
    Min Hours as 30
    Hourly Wage as "blank"
Second rule say 002 for multiple Student loan should have Non-exempt model say /FE2 in table V_T5UG3-
    Limit 1 section=>
    Nonexempt of 25% of Net i.e. Indicator - 2, Value - 25.00 and Unit - 1 (Percent of Net).
    Federal Minimum Wage section=>
    Min Hours as 30
    Hourly Wage as "blank"
You will need to input the respective rules 001 and 002 in IT0195 depending upon whether single or multiple FED student loan exists.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Ameet
