Lobby Administraton

Hi,
I am confused on how this work. My concern is regarding lobby administratoion, when the lobby administrator generate a guest login , he/she there is no option to send or print the Guest login. Is there any additional appliance or application I need to do such job? Thank you. Below is the version of my controller.

You can track guest user logins by having accounting server enabled on the guest wlan
from the radius server you can print out the list of users logged and the time of the login.

WCS Lobby Ambassador audit report for a specific period of time

Hi all,
I know there is an WCS audit report for each lobby ambassador activities. But the problem is that I see only activities from Nov 9 to the present. I don't know what the reason is, whether somebody erased that information before Nov 9 or something else happened.
Is there any option to manually configure a specific period of time, for example obtain all activities for last 3 months?

What error did you meet when you used audit report from Oct 16 to Oct 31?
Please check the log file to find more information about this issue. The path of the log file is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS. You can check the log file whose modified date is from Oct 16 to Oct 31.
In addition, please deactivate and reactivate Reporting feature at site collection level.

PO Box only populating on purchase order if PO Box Lobby field populated

We have an issue with the PO Box number printing on purchase orders. If we have a PO Box number for a vendor with no street address, the PO Box number is not printed on the purchase order unless an entry is made in the PO Box Lobby field. For vendors with a street address and a PO Box number, we enter the street address in the PO Box Lobby field. The purchase order displays this as "123 Main Street - PO Box 456". If we don't enter anything in the PO Box Lobby field, the PO Box number is not printed and a blank line is inserted in the address where the PO Box number would normally appear on the purchase order. We've been entering a single character in the PO Box Lobby field (such as a period or single quote) in order to get the PO Box number to print but it's not the ideal solution. We get a printout that has a line such as ". - PO Box 456" if we enter a period in the PO Box Lobby field. Any suggestions on how we can get the PO Box number to print if there is no street address would be appreciated.

When I print the order, it looks the same as the print preview. The PO Box number is not printed unless I enter something in the PO Box Lobby field. I've tried many combinations but I haven't found a way to print the PO Box number on the purchase order. There is a check box on the vendor master record where you can specify the PO Box without a number and I've tried checking that box, deleting the PO Box number and entering it in the PO Box Lobby field but it doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

Lobbying for new features

Folks,
I'm in need of some help.
I'd like to lobby for features to be added to LV and hoped I might get
the development community to assist.
The features are
1) arrays of attribute (property in LV 6i) nodes
2) multiselection ring controls
If you believe these features would be handy, please go to link below
and add them as a suggestion. I've heard that if "enough" folks request a
feature then it'll get a high priority in the next release. If you don't
know what I'm talking about ... read on.

The first feature, arrays of property nodes, refers to the ability to
creat an indexible array of property nodes to effect changes on an array of
front panel objects. Say you've got an array of buttons and would like to
change the labels on the buttons, or their colors, etc. Currently, this
isn't possible, because the all elements in an array must have the same
display attributes. Wouldn't it be outstanding to be able to index into an
array of property nodes and change the label on a particular control without
affecting all the others in the array? This allows one to control the
visibility of elements in the array programmatically, blink elements that
are not valid, or need further attention, highlight numbers in an array that
are out of bounds, etc.
The second feature deals with a slight modification to the ring control.
I'm constantly building interfaces where I'd like to select 2 or 3 items
from a long list. Say a channel list, select channel 1, channel 2, and
channel 31... or a reaction list. I find multiselection lists boxes hard
to apply because they take up so much space, seems you need to be able to
see at least 1/3rd of the list to interact with them. The drop down ring is
an excellent tool, you can see the entire list, but it doesn't allow one to
select more than an single item. If you had the ability to select multiple
items in the list from the drop down ... then you'd have something!

Thanks for the suggestions ... I may have misinterpreted your response, but
in 6i I don't think you can create an array of attribute nodes corresponding
to the individual elements in a front panel array. I tried an array of
buttons, selected one of the buttons and created a reference, fed it into an
attribute (property) node and set it to invisible and all elements in the
array went blank.
Your suggestion about the case structure is a good one for static displays,
but if you've got a display you'd like to resize at run time, then you need
arrays. Consider a situation where you'd like to display the boards
installed in a pc and indicate in red boards that are not connected properly
(has open thermocouple connections for example). I'd like to be able to
show the board names as labels on an array of buttons with the array sized
at run time based on the number of boards in the PC... then change the
color to red of the button corresponding to the board with the problem.
When you click on the button you'd get a message and a trouble shooting
screen for that board....

Need Suggestions for Reception Lobby Music

Can anyone suggest some good, inexpensive music mix CDs on the iTunes Music Store that would be appropriate for a business's reception lobby? We have a Mac Mini running a plasma screen and connected to the sound system. I'm tasked with finding music. My suggestion to spend a couple of hundred on selected iTunes downloads was deemed too expensive. I'm looking for some decent jazz/blues/R&B/instrumental CDs -- you know the type -- 50 or more songs by a variety of artists. Cheap, but not elevator music.

Even if you buy the music off of the iTunes Music Store, you will still need to obtain the copyright release's for each song to play them in a public area such as your business's reception lobby. My recommendation would be to contact a satilite service that can pipe the music in and already pays the royalties for you. My Business is doing this and we have a large variety of music to listen to and it isn't elevator music and its legal.

WCS Lobby Ambassador and Monitor User

I'm running our WCS authentication through ACS with TACACS and it's working fine. However, I currently have my Help Desk setup with a monitor user so they can login and view WCS, but this does not give them the Lobby Ambassador of course. How can I get a user to have both WCS and Lobby access with having to login with seperate user identities?

It's either admin either lobby account, you can not have both, the http pages are completly different and dont intermix.
Your solution is to have 2 users on your TACACS where one is the admin and one the lobby.

New to Cisco Lobby Ambassador

I want to be able to tie the registering users into the visitor registration section of a segregated guest network. I want to have a link that would appear in the front end after you register a visitor which would direct you to this program which is the lobby ambassador. Any non guest user could be able to register a guest and be provided a temp logon for the guest for a period of time.
Anyone has an idea of how I can achieve this using a Cisco lobby ambassador

You should be able to expand it to something bigger. On the controller go to Security, AAA, General. Increase this number, it will require a reboot. I'm not sure the maximum you can increase it to (could be controller dependent).

Lobby Admin for guest account creation - Automation of account creation

hello all,
i'm sure the creation of guest accounts on the lobby admin page is a painful process for all involved - for us, it involves a process like this:
visitor asks for wifi > receptionist phones IT > IT creates account> IT phones receptionist with login details.
I would like to know whether it's possible to speed up this process either:
1) receptionist is able to click a few buttons, type the name of a visitor (so we know who used particular the guest ID), then is able to generate an ID and password immediately, which can then be printed onto a ticket printer of some sort.
2) visitor simply connects into the guest network, has to register (name and email) and automatically gets connected.
are any of these possible? or any other option I could take?

Why not just have the receptionist create the account via the Lobby Admin login? The point of Lobby Admin is such that an elevated end-user (receptionist/security/etc) can log in to create a guest account without having to interact with an "admin". There's no point in having your IT staff handle the Lobby Admin logins.
Some of the other items you are asking for would be a better use-case with Cisco ISE solution.

Lobby Ambassador can't email guest user accounts via WCS

WCS is configured with SMTP server under Administration-Settings-Mail Server Configuration and test is successful and it sends e-mail alerts out no problem. However, when Lobby Ambassador creates a new guest account and clicks on the e-mail link to email it out, this message pops-up: 'Email Server is not configured.Contact Network Administrator'.
Any ideas?

by poking around I've found an answer. Even though we have a single email server, right after I've added the same server as a secondary email server, notifications started working. Seems to be a WCS bug.

Lobby ambsssador user authenticatio using a RADIUS server

I have Wism installed in unified wireless network, MS IAS server is sittign in between enterprise AD and Wism. Wireless clients are getting authentincated via ISA againt enterprise AD without any issue.
Now I want to authenticate the admin users in WLC ( for example Lobby admin users) also with AD using the same method.
I tried adding a RADIUS server in WLC on "administraiton>AAA servers" . But the external authentication doesn't seems to be happaning. Does someone has any exmaple on this type of configuraiton ?

you can use Radius to authenticate management user, but I'm afraid can't use it to authenticate Lobby admin user.
To authen management user, you need:
1. in WLC, when creating Radius server, need to enable "management"
2. In Radius, you need to enable service type[006] to be administrative in user's IETF(Radius) attribute

WLC Lobby Admin with ACS 5.1

Hello,
Just wondering if someone knew how to configure a LobbyAdmin account for WLC 7.0 on a 5.1 ACS? I'm very new to ACS 5.1 and need to advise as to how to configure it.
I've got the ACS policy working that allows me to login to the WLC using a user account with full rights but the Lobby admin account can login with full rights as well. I've tried setting the custome attributes in the shell profiles with role0-mandatory-LobbyAmbassador, task0-Mandatory-Configure Guest User and task1-Mandatory-Lobby Ambassador User Preferences but it still doesn't work.

The debug for the Lobby account shows a space in the role,
*tplusTransportThread: Jan 24 14:40:10.751: arg[0] = [33][role1= LOBBY]
If I use a working account there is no space,

I've checked the shell profile and don't see any spaces.

Filter the SSID for Lobby Admin

I've created a sponsor portal on wlc 5508 by using LobbyAdmin account, but I noticed that the person who will have access to this portal is able to assign any vlan to the visitor because there is a drop down list which displays all SSID which are configured on the wlc. Can we avoid this and limit the drop down list?

No it's not. The lobby admin will see all the SSID's. nothing you can do here. Others have also asked this in the past and nothing has changed.

Lobby Admin Guest Account with Two Controllers

I have two 5508 WLCs. Both have APs attached to them. If I create a guest account with the lobby administrator on one, will that user account be able to log in to the network if the client is attached to the ohter WLC? So far, I have found that I need to create the same user on both WLC's, in order to have the user login.

No, if you create the Lobby Admin on the WLC it does not cross over to any other WLC>
Now if you had WCS/NCS you coudl create the user there, and it would be able to push to both WLC.

WCS - Lobby Ambassador users don't see each other's guest users

Hi, we currently have the problem with WCS 5.2 that a user of the group "Lobby Ambassador" cannot see guest users that have been created by another user of that group. The user can only see his own created guest users. All are in the same virtual domain which is the root-domain.
I believe this behaviour was not this way in previous versions, here all guest users were visible to all Lobby Ambassador users.
I couldn't find any hint in the documentation about this.
Is this simply a change in behaviour (works as designed) or is this maybe a bug?

Displaying 2 videos of mine in lobby at work--how to

Hey guys
Anyone have a better option than powerpoint to put up 2 videos I have made for work on the work lobby lcd screen? IT tells me to just put the 2 vids in a powerpoint and send that to them--but if I import 2 vids I can't find a good way to have the 2nd one start automatically once the first one is completed and then have these 2 loop ad infinitum??--Is there a good way to do this in powerpoint or would another program be best for this--Again it's just for the lobby LCD screen they just installed--It seems simple but as I've learned it's not really--anybody have experience with this and can point me in the right direction??

I suggest having a fairly large open BAR of frozen ( chilled to the max ) Stoly in the lobby, so that people coming into the space immediately drink a large SHOT of the stuff....and say hi to one another ( socialize ).
After THAT they will be seeing 2 of EVERYTHING or else won't CARE about what they are NOT seeing....
PLUS everyone will be really happy ( at least until it gets ugly ....like 2 guys want to date the same woman )
In THAT case I suggest you have really big BOUNCERS with some class....so they don't hurt anyone.
