Local calling when CCM is in another state

My CallManager cluster is in my office, and I'm trying to set up some phones in another office in another state over a WAN link. The phones are going to register with my gateway in my office, but the users in the remote office want to be able to dial local calls in that state. Has anyone set up something like this? I'm assuming I would need to set up a separate partition and CSS and route the local calls over our long distance trunks, but I don't know how to make this seamless to the end user. Thanks.

you're on the right track, what you're trying to do is very common. toll bypass is the name of this, the way you need to configure it is to have a route pattern for the phones at the remote location that will use the local gateway to route the calls, if the main site will use the PSTN to route the calls and a local GW users from that site should reach another route pattern which uses the local GW
if you mean users want to do 7 digit dialing while you need 10 digits to route the call, all you need to do is create a route pattern for remote users and use the called party transformation mask to add the 3 digits or use the prefix field to add the digits

  • Making a local call when overseas

    I normally live in Canada.
I was in Hong Kong a few months ago and delayed at the airport for 6+hrs. My HK sim card had run out of call time.  I tried using my Skype credit and the airport Wifi to make a local call to a Hong Kong mobile number. It just wouldn't work.
    Here's what I did:
    +852 the Hong Kong number
In a few months, I'll be traveling again and I'm planning to use a portable Wifi (to be rented in the foreign country).  The country has strict regulations about using foreign phones and foreign sim cards but to buy one of their phones is a pain in the rear end (and could take several days to activate).  Using the portable Wifi, I hope to be able to surf the Internet but more importantly, to be able to make LOCAL calls.
From my experience in Hong Kong, I'm worried that Skype doesn't allow local calls. How's that possible?

    Any ideas?

  • Can a button change to another state and remain there, and also go to a URL?

    Hi --
I've been wracking my brain and scouring the internet since yesterday to find a solution to this...It seems easy enough, but I'm at a loss...maybe I'm over thinking it and it's simply not possible?
We have a button that we want to, when clicked, change to another state, remain there, and also use a navto to go to another page within the publication...is this possible?
We've tried doubling up the actions of the button, using fake buttons, etc. all without success. What we have it at now is...you can tap to navto, and the button does change, but it reverts back to it's previous state in that moment between releasing the button and actually jumping to the page we want it to go to.
The only explanation I've come up with is based on the information on this page: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS67cb9e293e2f1f60-8ad81e812b10bfd837-80 00.html -- that because the two actions I want to accomplish fall into the two different categories: Supported actions for hyperlink buttons and Supported actions for slideshow buttons, that this simply isn't possible?
    Your help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kristina

No, that's not supported with multiple actions. You can't switch a state and then jump to another document.

  • Busy greeting does not play when I am on another call

My busy greeting does not play when I am on another call. My regular greeting plays. I called verizon and they gave me some **bleep** about how that feature doesn't work if you have call waiting. It USED to work for me and why do they promote it as a dfeature with their Freedom Essentials package that comes with call waiting? Does anyone know what is going on? I need this feature to work for me.

Also in the cases of incoming calls or if you place a call and forget to dial *70, in many states you can use 3 way calling to click over and dial *70 to activate Tone Block while on a call. You will hear 3 short confirmation tones and will then be returned to your other call. HOWEVER, do this with care because in some areas there will be a charge for using the 3 way calling if you do not have a monthly subscription to it. In other states Verizon will permit you to use 3 Way solely for the purpose of activating Tone Block without a charge. So check to see what the rules are where you are beforehand.

I recently transferred my internet service to another state.I have not yet moved my imac, just my pc laptop. I cannot get my airport extreme wireless router to work. The green light stays lit when everything is connected but I can't connect to the internet. Any suggestions?

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

  • Stop Video when moving to another "state"?

    Hello,
I am not sure if this is a Flash Builder topic or a Flash Catalyst topic or I am guessing it is both.
I  have a Catalyst that contains multiple flv clips. I am discovering that  when you play a video and then you decide to navigate to another  "state" or "location" in my case, that the video pauses. If you then  return to that state the video will start back up where it was paused.
I am trying to figure out how to tell the program to stop all or any flv when moving to another state.
Any help here would be great.
    Thank you.

        msindypendent,
Yikes! Let's make sure you are able to make phone calls when you leave home. I would suggest on what Tidbits provided. Also, what kind of device are you using? What voice message are you getting when you try to call out? Please provide me with some details.

That's not a feature of the iPhone. Or most other phones for that matter.

  • ANOTHER Step BACKWARDS - NO, You CANNOT SEE Your LOCAL Calling Area ONLINE !!

Why check your LOCAL calling area? TO SAVE Yourself MONEY. If you can check the calling area quickly, you can tell if it will be a TOLL CALL. Sure, this is not an issue depending on your calling plan. It is to a lot of folks like me; and you may be calling from a different phone at times.
Up until at least January 2008 you could EASILY determine your LOCAL CALLING AREA on Verizon's website by entering your phone number. The link WAS
    http://www22.verizon.com/CallingAreas/localCallFinder/LocalExchangesList.htm , but NO MORE.
I SUSPECT it was discontinued because Verizon realized that by making a MONEY-SAVING 'device'
easily available was NOT GOOD FOR THE BOTTOM LINE.
I went thru all of Verizon's hoops to get an answer, but they have their roadblocks firmly planted.
Their is A LOT OF JUSTIFICATION for CONSUMER REPORTS to give its highest ratings to Verizon's SERVICES...... WHILE AT THE SAME TIME RATING THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE "DREADFUL".

    Hi GimmieDps,
I'm sorry you are having difficulty with your calls from home. I have escalated your concern and an agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

  • Online number at local call rates.

If I live in England and got to Australia for a holiday, do I set up the number for the UK or for Australia so my friends can get local rates when they call? Then If a friend from Canada phoned me, would they also get local rate calls?

    sanaaqib wrote:
For calling on a US online number from another country lets say Japan, will be charged same as calling from a Japanese landline to US landline?
    Yes.
Skype call charges depend only on the country you are calling TO. The geographic origin of the call is irrelevant.
To call both landlines and cellphones to (and within) the United States from anywhere costs 2.3 cents per minute or part thereof.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac
