Local class not compatible: stream classdesc

I have a "Image" field in my Table (SQL Server), everytime the
app server does update on the table I get the following error.
I am pretty sure it has to do with Image field since the error goes away if I
remove the image field from the table.

Is the code on the other side of the socket running in
the Sun VM? Because IBM has their own VM that VAJ is
probably using and may cause this version problem. If
this is the case, I believe IBM has a compatibility
plugin for Sun's VM so you may want to check with
them.Actually, The problem occurs if I run both the server and client in VAJ or if I run both outside in the Sun VM. The only thing I havn't testing is running one in each. But I doubt that would solve the problem. It seems that when I serialize the object with the default writeObject, it puts the correct uid on the stream but the readObject is returning the wrong value when it calls readLong() . Any other ideas??? This is rather frustrating and I see from other posts that this is a common problem without a common solution.

    Hi,
it looks like you have two different versions of the same class in the
classpath. Your client is expecting version A, but the server is
returning an instance of version B. Make sure that you only have one
version of the class in your classpath. If you're starting the client as
a separate app, also make sure that it's using the same classes as the
    server.
    Hope that helps,
    Nils

    Hi,
I recently create a webservice application.
It work fine when the server is implemented as java application. But when rewritten as web application( *.war),  the deploiement work on WLS.
However it throws java.io.InvalidClassException: org.eclipse.persistence.internal.indirection.DatabaseValueHolder; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -6893195210780291759, local class serialVersionUID = 1128857921468654749 error when the client start consumming the web service methods.
I add both eclipselink-javax.persistence-2.0.jar and eclipselink-2.0.2.jar(which are also used in the server side) in $WL_HOME/wlserver_10.3/common/deployable-libraries, that doesn't solve the problem yet.
Any help will be appreciated, cheers.

    Abenk,
This looks like a serial version mismatch due to multiple Eclipselink.jar files. Check if you have any under server/internal/ext folder.
What are you putting in your classpath? Is there a "jrf.jar" and is it getting picked up first? Does this Jrf.jar have an entry of Eclipselink jar?
Try to check the classpath of the jars used by Weblogic and remove any redundant Eclipselink/Toplink jars.
What is the complete version of your Weblogic Server ?

    Hey guys,
This is the problem. My father just got an iPhone 5. He has a Macbook Pro 2009 with OS X 10.5.8.  The iPhone is not compatible with this version since the iTunes is an older version as well. At our local Apple store in my home country, they told him he needs to upgrade (which I agree of) but that the memory of this computer is not enough to hold the newer OS.
Please help, he does not really agree with buying a new computer just because of the versions.
Thank you, I appreciate your help.

This is what I have. Thank you so much rdr4lfe.

  • I have a class where I need to use SmartDraw but it is not compatible with Mac probook what are some other software programs I can use to make floorplans and building plans?

I am suppose to download SmartDraw to my computer for a class but it is not compatible with Probook is there another program that does the same as SmartDraw?  I am planning a building addition and need it for the floor plans.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are lots of choices. Just go to the App Store and type in Cad Drawing in the search field. Also Sketchup from Google is a cloud based solution hat works pretty well.

  • My college's online class site is not compatible with Firefox 7

The college has notified us that we have to use Firefox 6 because the website is not compatible with Firefox 7. But frequently I am notified that I will be upgraded to 7, so I go in and have to got through the steps of making sure I am still in version 6. Is there something that can be done to fix this?

I've seen reports before that Angel LMS isn't working with Firefox 7, so there is probably nothing that you can do about it but wait until Blackboard updates Angel software to work with Firefox 7.

Can anyone tell me the reason? Thanks

"local class incompatible" error is due to the retrieving of serialized object, which might be dumping from memory to somewhere like database, file etc., that is of different edition of the class. Maybe an object A of AClass was stored in a database and lately the AClass changed to a new edition, let's call it A'Class, and they have something different, especially the serialVersionUID field. When the object A is retrieved from the database, which should be compatible with A'Class (be ware of that A'Class and AClass has the same name but of different edition), unfortunately, they don't, the error mentioned above occurs.
So, I guess that although the app A and B uses different domain, if they uses the same database to store and retrieve something (here may refers to objects) of different edition and are run one after another, the compatible issues are going to occur.
Separating app A from B as much as possible is not a good solution, but you could have a try.
    Hoping helpful, good luck!

  • Oracle.jbo.domain.Number; local class incompatible

    Hi Forum,
Development Tool     : Jdeveloper 9.0.4 (part of Oracle 10g Suite)
    Target Application Summary:
A simple application which displays the content of a database table and allows it to be modified both through a web interface as well as a Swing standalone client.
    A Workspace having three projects:
    1) A Business layer defined by using BC4J(Business Components For Java) provided with Jdeveloper 10g.
    2) A Swing/JClient application for BC4J which accesses the BCJ4 layer using a Business component client data model.
3)A JSP application using JSP for business components which accesses the BC4j layer
    Target Deployment:
    1) Light-weight swing interface at machine 1
    2) Business components and JSP part in an application server on Machine 2
    3) Oracle DB on Machine3
    Problem Statement
We deployed the BC4J Middle tier on OC4J standalone as a session bean. Then the client jar was deployed as a remote application(using Swing/JClient for business componments), the following error comes:
    (oracle.jbo.PiggybackException) JBO-28300: Piggyback read error
    ----- LEVEL 1: DETAIL 0 -----
(java.io.InvalidClassException) oracle.jbo.domain.Number; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -6507359405709672486, local class serialVersionUID = -592084144037230518
Can the forum help me with the problem (i am using the library BC4JOracleDomains which has oracle.jbo.domain.Number class)
    Thanking you in advance.

Firstly, good job on describing your problem/situation. Some people just don't bother to be verbose.
Secondly, I have to note that I don't do any development in this way so I have no 1st hand experience with this excpetion. But, it appears as though you are using different versions of the jar files (which in turn contain different versions of the classes). Maybe you should take a look at that?

You didn't post the part of the stacktrace that shows the line number that the problem occured on. (Truncated. see log file for complete stacktrace)
Are you sure the problem occured in the code you posted? If so did this line execute and print on the console?
System.out.println("see?");That error can occur when the code used to deserialize an object uses a different version of the class than the version it was serialized with. The code you posted doesn't shown anything that appears to do any deserialization.
Have their been any changes to the environment lately? Upgrades to Java version, WebLogic or the JDBC driver?

  • Conversion from VS2003 to VS2005 Crystal Report View is not compatible

I am trying to migrate an application from VS2003 to VS2005.  I am trying to run it locally, using the localhost method.  I am getting a parser error: The base class includes the field u2018CrystalReportViewer1u2019 but itu2019s type (CrystalDecisionsWeb.CrystalReportViewer) is not compatible with the type of control (CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportViewer)
I have a tried a number of solutions, including removing and then readding Crystal Report references (picking the 10.2.3600 ones).
I also created a websetup project, trying either the windows installer and the merge modules.  Those both gave me the error "The setup requires Internet Information Server 4.0 or higher and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or higher.  This setup cannot be installe don Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.  Please install Internet Information Server and run this setup again." so I guess I don't understand how localhost works, but I know it's not a true web server.
    I also followed a post to delete the assembly information that was in my web.config, which was      <add assembly="CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.ReportSource, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/>
and expected it to be readded when I re-added my references and rebuilt but there is now just an empty <assemblies></assemblies> tag.
Note that I have VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 all installed on my computer as we have application in various stages of conversions.  I think I just downloaded SP1 for Crystal Reports for VS2005 but it doesn't specify when I do Help-About in VS so maybe I didn't.
I have spent so many countless hours and only just found this forum buried under the rather confusing SAP website.
Thank you SO much for any help,
    Penny

removing all of the references and adding the 10.2 references is a good start.  the problem is most likely that you still have a 9.1.5000 reference to CrystalDecisions.Web in the HTML source of your web form with a viewer control on it.  Easiest way to upgrade that is to delete the viewer control and drag a new one on from the toolbox.  the drag and drop of the viewer control is what will populate your "add assembly" tags.

  • Class Not Found Error Doesn't Make Sense

Possible answer to CNF Exception problems.
I have written a simple slide show applet that displays a sequence of jpgs. In order to make it work for the majority of people and older systems I used the AWT Applet rather than the JApplet framework.
I compiled it using the latest JDK 1.4.1, ran it using applet viewer and locally inside my web browser (IE 6.0) and it all worked fine.
I uploaded it to a web-server, tested it and received a Class Not Found exception. After a few hours of checking, rechecking (code= codebase= etc. etc.) I decided to use an older version of the JDK to compile the applet (since the code was compatible). The oldest I could find was 1.1.8, so I compiled, uploaded and it works on every computer I've tried???
What is the problem here?? Windows 98, the 1.4.1 JDK, IE 6.0?? Has anyone had similar problems before? Why did it work locally but not online?

    Hi.
Instead of using the old JDK you can also compile your code for a specific version with
    javac -target 1.1 MyApp.javaCheers,

SRT Framework exception: The WSDL document is not compatible with proxy class "YAIRPORT_CO_AIRPORT_SOAP": "Unsupported Operation (s): getAirportInformationByISOCountryCode, getAirportInformationByAirportCode, getAirportInforma
    someone has an idea?
    thank you

    Hi,
Most probably your class YAIRPORT_CO_AIRPORT_SOAP was't automatically generated by SAP from the .wsdl file. If so, then you have to generate it from this file and then create the logical port. For this purpose, go to se80, display the function group there you want to add the class, right-click it and choose Create -> Web Service. Then on the following screens choose Service Consumer, Local File and specify the .wsdl file for the web service you want to use. Finally specify a Package, Prefix and Transport Request, activate the changes and you're done. Now you can create the Logical Port.
    Hope this helps,
    Greg
