Local Currency changover to Euro

Dear all,
I have a question regarding local currency changeover. Client using SAP fro more than 6 years and having multiple company codes in the system. Now on 01.01.2009 company code in Slovakia joining Euro Monetary Union (EMU) and for this they want to changeover the local currency from SKK - Slovakian Koruna to EUR - Euro. I gone through some of the OSS notes e.g. 1038292, 1113189 etc., but I want to know the approach, system setup related activities, processes and do and donu2019ts in this process etc. Can anybody guide me on this.
Waiting for your reply.
Thanks

Hi Paul,
There is no dual currency phase, I mean not in SAP (there is a mandatory dual pricing period from july 2008 to december 2009).
As of 01.01.2009, SKK will be replaced by EUR.
The swithover can be carried out as soon as the 2008 fiscal year books closing will be done in SAP.
Hope this helps.

  • Parallel currencies - alternative to local currency changeover to euro??

I would like to know if there are any alternatives to local currency changeover to euro?
Estonia will start using euro 1 January 2011 and we are helping an estonian company investigating alternativs to the euro changeover in SAP. I know that SAP has programs that can mange the conversion/changeover, but I would like to know the alternatives.
The company uses 2 parallel currencies today. The company code currency EEK (10) is the first local currency, the group currency (SEK) is the second local currency.
Is is possible to use the functionality of parallel currencies in OB22 in this case and set the EUR as hard currency (currency type 40)? Can this be done for a company already in production? Will we be able to see profit- and loss statements and balance sheets from day 1 after we have activated the new currency. Any problems with opens items?
    Are the any other alternatives?
Could one stategy be to start at new company code with EUR as company code currency? I realize we have to copy the configuration and masterdata and transfer the balaces to the new company code. What other problems do you see with this alternative?

in order to make prove your theory , check for this material in MC.9 how it is giving the output to be how much valuated stock and value.
MB51 should also show the same for that GL .Check the material moments happened for this to come into plant stock and how they came like either by a PO or by a initial entry or by a stock transfer.
Even though if the purchase is free it inctreases the stock qty and value ... but not the purchasing cost for invoicing.
If it is non valuated it will go to consumption.
stock will be valuated with the GR accounting docs for that GL.
if the MC.9 and MB51 THERE is a descrepancy then need to be corrected.

  • What to do when an entity starts using EURO instead of Local Currency (not

What do you do when an entity which is using one of the local currencies out there (not EURO) is going to use EURO as their Local Currency soon?
For example: what do you do when you have an entity in a non EURO country but will soon start using EURO? For this purpose you can take a company located in Estonia which has reported in their local currency till today and will report in their local currency until the end of 2010 but starting from 1/1/2011 they will start reporting in EURO. What do you do in such cases?
Do you create a new entity (with similar code) for that entity so the old one stays in LC for archive purposes and the new one is used as of 1/1/2011 or do you do something else? What is the best practice?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
You have the answer in the following forum thread:
Re: Changing Currency of one Company
The best way is in fact to create a new entity and then operate all steps mentioned in this thread.
Not very complicated, but you should test that on your test environment first, or at least backup all your records, in order to safe-guard the process.
    Hope this will help.
    Kind Regards,

  • If a customer has a zero balance in second local currency

If a customer has a zero balance in second local currency but some
balance in company code currency before clearing, we want to keep zero
balance in second local currency after clearing. How can we solve this
problem? Is it possible to clear customer open items using second or
    third local currency?
When the customers have several documents in different currencies, we
    have the problem below:
We want to analyze the customeru2019s balance in Euro and USD. (second and
    third local currencies)
However the invoices and some incoming payments have different document
currencies. Invoices are in document currency TRY, incoming payments
are in document currency Euro or USD. In this case, we plan to use
second or third local currency for deciding balances instead of first
local currency. But when we clear the documents using currency TRY
(local currency), system creates exchange rate difference for TRY and
also for the second and third local currencies. We do not want to have
foreign exchange differences after clearing, for the second or third
currencies since their balances were already zero. After clearing the
balances are not zero anymore, and we do not want this happen.
Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi,
    Have you maintained table OABT?
Study the useful documentation about this Tcode in the following Menu path:
SPRO >> Financial Accounting >> Asset Accounting >> Valuation >> Currencies >> Specify the Use of Parallel Currencies
    Thanks

  • F5061  Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment

My Company code currency is EUR. The customer has made a downpayment in USD (say 100) and i am now to clear the same against invoice of same amount in USD (100 $) but its is resulting into minor differences in Local currency. I am getting the following error
Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment
    Message no. F5061
    Diagnosis
For postings in foreign currency, it is possible that the balance in foreign currency is zero, but not in local currency. Providing the balance in local currency does not amount to more currency units than the document has line items, the system adjusts the amounts automatically. If an automatic adjustment is not possible, the amounts must be adjusted manually in local currency.
    System Response
The document is not posted in local currency without adjusting the amounts.
    Procedure
Adjust the amounts in local currency.
How can i have the system automatically fetch the Gl accounts to post the exchange rate differeces.
I have maintained the settings in FBKP- Exchange rate differenes
    Thanks & Regards
    Pooja

    Hi,
I have the same problem; my company code is defined in HUF and I am trying to post a vendor invoice in Euros.
I have a 10% maintained there and still receiving the error, either for differences of just one HUF. The strangest thing is that differences are automatically adjusted (also for discrepancies over the 10%) when posting through FB60 but not when using FB01.
    Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Best regards.

  • Only balance in local currency

    Hi
our base currency is UDS. One of the GL ( bank account in Germany ) is set up as document currency ( euro ) and " only in local currency " check box  is unchecked ( FS00 , control tab ). Now  when I try to load the plan data into system, all the values goes well except this GL. I used manual entry to load the value (Gp12 ) into this GL (plan ).It did not work.
Now I tried to change the check box ( FS00 ) but it does not allow as there is balance into that. First I am not clear why this one account was set up like that. Can anybody suggest me how to fix this "only local currency" issue.
    Thanks
    Satya

    Hi Satya,
Since you have created the g/l account with account currency EUR and which is different from your company code currency (USD) it will only accept the postings in EUR. If an account is set up in company code currency then it will accept postings in all currencies. Usually bank accounts are maintained in currencies other than company code currency and in this case I am not sure why you have created a P&L account in currency other than Company code currency.
The indicator "Only balances in local currency" controls the display of balances via FS10N transaction and if you have unchecked that indicator then system should supposedly display the balances by transaction currency but in your case since, your account currency is EUR and the g/l account can only accept postings in EUR it doesnt really matter because it will only display balances in EUR since all the postings going to the above account will be only EUR.
As far as ur problem is concerned; looks like u r loading numbers in currency other than EUR and that is why it is bombing out. You have to zero out the balance in the account first and then have to change the account currency to USD if you want to plan in diff currencies on that account.
    Plz assign points if useful
    Thanks

  • SEM -BCS Trasaction currency and Local Currency

    SAPGURUS
I have one issue , When the users are doing Half yearly BCS they see  that for one company code for one item period values Local currency is diifeernt from
    Transaction currency .
My question is why this Transaction currency is different from local currecny.
    How to rectify this .
Are they  missing any exchnage rate conversion .
    Thanks in Advance .
are they  missing any exchnage rate conversion .

    Hi Dan Sullivan
Thanks for the quick reply .
    One more question .
I see in the BCS  T Curency as Euro and Local currency as Euro .
but the period values localy currency is different from Transaction currency .
I think the values should be the same if both T Currecny and Local Currency is same .
I also observed that this particular difference is happening only for 2 particular set of accounts . Those accounts are related to Intercompany related G L Accounts values .
I also observed that in the Break down category for these G L Accounts The break down structure category has defined as defaulted .
I would like to know what would be the cause for the above .
    Thanks in Advance .

  • Foreign to Local currency Conversion

    Hi Hyperion Experts,
For our client we are building a planning model and they have the following requirement. The entity UK needs to be able to fill in expenses in different currencies, so in pounds, Euro, Swiss Francs, USD, etc. At the moment there is only 1 reporting currency and that is USD. Now they want to be able to calculate the entity UK to the local currency pounds. So there needs to be a foreign to local conversion.
    How can this be solved?
    We now have one solution.
    1) Every currency needs to be a reporting currency, but then the model will not perform. There are a lot of enitities and a lot of currencies.
Do you guys now a more efficient way to solve this problem?

Your requiremet seems to be of multi currency input across Entities. Whenever, you enter data in Loacl currency with the Currency symbol system picks up that currency as the input currency irrespective of the currency UDA attached to the entity.
Try this out, input 100 EURO for an Entity whcih has USD as the base. Check the conversions.
The next requirement is of the currency conversions. If this multi currency requirement is only for some expenses then you can very well modify the existing scripts so that the conversion runs only for those account members and not the entire set of account codes. You can put a specific UDA on these expenses so that you can call the same in the rule.

  • Local Currency Changeover in Hungary - Effort Estimation

My customer is planning to migrate currency from HUF to EURO.  Due to the legal requirements, EURO should be effective as of Jan 1st, 2016. 1. I am wondering how much efforts will be required to implement this?  One month?  Two months? 2. Looking at SAP Help documentation, it looks like it changes all the historical financial documents also.  Is it required by the law?  Or is it possible to add an local currency (Group Currency, or Hard Currency type for example), and display EURO starting from Jan 1st, 2016? 3. Local Currency Changeover functionality - Does it impact all the Companies in the same Client?  I don't believe so, but I would like someone to confirm. 4. In addition to SAP Help document, is there anyone who can share documents created from the real project? Thanks, Sungyun

    Hello experts,
we have a sales office in Romania. Sales orders are created both in currency EURO and in RON. But invoicing must always be done in the local currency (=RON new romanian leu).

We want want is to create the salesorder (VA01) in document currency EURO, when the order is delivered we want to create the invoice of this order in RON.

  • What is second local currency fields used for?

    Hi experts,
Please tell me what is the this second local currency fields like DMBE2, BDIF2, MWST2, present in BSIK, BSAK fields.
    Thanks,
    vinay

A Company Code can be setup more than one Local Currency. For instance, many organizations will setup the Company Code for operations located in Singapore with a Local Currency of Singapore Dollars (SGD). But, they will also set it up with a Local Currency 2 of US Dollars (USD), because Singapore organizations often do trading business in US Dollars. Therefore, when an FI transaction is posted, all identified Local Currency values will be updated to it (there's also a Local Currency 3 too, but it's rarely used - if I recall it was initially setup for EU companies when transitioning to the EURO).

  • Error in second local currency

    Good evening,
we have a problem in our system.
We changed the country of the company for some problem in payment.
The change effected on the second local currency so we ripristinate the
    originale country.
In particular we have modified from IT to EG and than EG to IT.
So the currency has changed from EURO to EGP and than from EGP to EURO.
The document entered in this period has so the second local currency
    wrong.
How can we solve this mistake?
    Can we correct this document?
    Thank you very much.
    Debora Chini

    Hi,
You can't adjust this document currency. You have to reverse and recreate.
When you change co cde currency you can post only in GL Acc Currency. This could be your case.
