Local formulaes of BEX (BW 3.5, SP 14) in bo xi 3.1 sp2

Hello experts,
I have a question llike can the BEX local formuales and selection support BO XI 3.1 sp2 when the BW system is on 3.5 and SP 14. I heard that we need to apply a note in order to support that. could any one please lemme know abt this issue.

BW ERROR while calculating local formula in Bex analyzer

Hi gurus,
Their is an error comming up on a report which is opened in Bex Analyzer. When we create local formula i encounter this error.
It says"
"Program error in class SAPMYSS1S method :uncaught exception "
"System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form DELETE_FST-01"
Not sure of why this error is comming up.
DO we need to update a OSS note for this.
Please suggest .

Create local view with Bex Analyzer 7.0

Hi,
with the Bex Analyzer 3.5 it was possible to create and use a local views based on a query in a workbook.
With this "workaround" it was possible to create just one Query for different views and charts.
Is there something similar in BI 7.0???
I know there is a query view, but this is not what i want.

I think the reference is to the BEx 3.x Change Query button. You had the option in a refreshed query or Workbook to Change Query Local View or global view.
With Change Query Local View it was easier for a user with no global change authorizations to drag and drop, rearrange and change properties of their query results as needed. Then they could save locally as a workbook and each time they open it the personalized version can be refeshed as such, all without having to change original query.
How do users do that in 7.0?

Local formulaes and selections in BO

Hello Experts,
I have a very complex query to be designed in bex, which is furthur used in BO. The Bex query has lot of RKF,s and CKF,s to be defined so it is reacing SAP limit of 999 elements. If i use formulaes in place of RKF;s and CKF's, can i access them in BO Xi 3.1. If so, could you let me know the process.

Thanks ingo, you were very helpfull for me in these issues, Actually for our dashboard creation we need 24 months data with lot many calculations(if conditions and standard deviations of means). This requirement made me to create such complex query, even creating 2 queries and feeding data from these to xcelsius is also an option, but i am opting to create a single query.
The query is reaching its maximum extent because all the 24 months data and indeed RKF's

Problem editing columns, using local view in Bex Analyzer...

After upgrade to BI 7.0, we are unable to amend/modify, using the local view of a query, the properties of the report columns...

Formulae in Bex

I have a calculated Key Figure in a report and want to create another Calcualted KF based on this value.
If Calculated KF 1 >= 0 and <= 35
Cal KF 2 = Calculated KF 1
Else
Cal KF 2 = 9999
Please help me to acheive this in Bex

hello experts,
We have a very complex query to be designed in bex, i have lot of standard deviation calculations to be done. But when i excute the query it popees up an error "check_max_memmers-01-". I cannot able to restrict my KF,s because i need to access this query in BO. SO i cannot create local formulaes. is there any chance to increase elements in sap. please help me in this regards

Calculated key figures Vs local formula

HI,
I am having 4 queries on a cube.
i am now using calculated key figures instead of local formulae.
I want to know "which is better in performance wise/ or may be pros and cons of using each one."
Can any one clarify me.
I know that
1.when we select the option Calculation after aggregation will improve performance.
2.we can do some more things only with Cal. Key Figs using formula variable.
Here my concern is not that.
I am concerned about general case like -
i have to add, multiply or divide some direct key figures and use some data functions like nodim, NDIV0 functions.

Hi Raghu,
Formulas cannot be directly reused, but if they are saved to a global structure, then the structure may be reused. If you are creating a calculation that will be widely used, it is best to create it as global...this helps a lot when you need to revisit the definition, and make changes as one chnage is reflected in all queries.
However, there are some functions like SUMCT, SUMGT, SUMRT, %CT, %GT, %RT which are available only to the formulas (local), so if you need to use them, you cannot use a CKF.
In addition to the differences, A formula can only work on other formulas/selections already in your query (in the same structure as your new formula), while a calculated key figure can only work on other key figures, calculated key figures or restricted key figures. However both can use formula variables.
CKF are calculated at the time of loading data.
Your Formula calculates at the time of running the query.

Setting in BEx formula for calculation of YTD and MAT

Hi,
I have to implement 2 formulae in BEx.
As I am trying to avoide ABAP coding, can anyone please suggest SETTINGS in BEx FORMULA to achieve these below mentioned 2 formulae -
1 ) Calculate YTD - Average of the sum of the reported quarter values from the start of the year until and including the selected quarter. But, if we enter Quarter 3 and there is no data for quarter 2 then the average should be equal to sum of data for Q1 and Q2 divided by 2 instead of 3 even though user entered Q3.
2) Calculate MAT - Average of the sum of the reported quarter values for the last 4 quarters. We need to check last 4 quarters. If data is present only for 3 quarters in the last four quarters then the MAT will be data for 3 quarters divided by 3.
Please suggest BEx formulae settings, if any for the above calculations.

I am not sure requirement related YTD is possible without customer exits variable
But regarding your 2nd requirement
Calculate MAT
Create four restricted key figures by using offset (0, -1, -2, -3) and restriction characteristic will be quarter.
Create a calculated key figure "Count of Quaerter". This will consist of "Number of rows" key figure with exception aggr on the Quarter characteristic and aggr will be "Count for all not eq to 0".
Create a calculated key figure which will be sum of four restricted key figures divided by Count of Quarter.

This type of question is almost impossible to answer over a forum .
You need to work with your business to understand what these requirements mean in terms of data modelling and relationships between object entities.
- Some of these metrics should be delegated to source, and calculated in the update routines to your datatargets (aka Cubes/Tables)
- Others could be resolved in the semantic layer (Universe)
- Other will be calculated in the presentation layer as local formulae or variables.
whilst BusinessObjects is a fairly intuitive tool, it may be unreasonble to expect a new learner to deliver an advanced report with conditional formatting.

Hi,
you can't add a key figure of BW but you can create a local formula via BEx or Excel. To add formula by Excel you should have a fixed structure. Otherwise you'll overwrite the value when navigating. To add formula by Bex click on filter, then right click on key figures and Add Local Formula. The possibilities are very restricted there...

[SOLVED] make fails but makepkg works fine (when building zathura git)

I tried exporting the enviroment variables from /etc/makepkg.conf, to no avail. I also tried adding the girara include files to CFLAGS, but it throws the same kind of error about some gtk dependency.
I don't know if this is a general issue, but as I can compile it through makepkg I don't think this is due to zathura.
Does anyone have a clue on what could be wrong here?

In the PKGBUILD, they are cloning the repo by doing :

Ad-hoc QD Questions!!!

I have a few questions about Ad-hoc Query Designer which I was asked during a training and I hope very much you can answer them:
1) During Query execution, Internet Explorer doesn't always open a new window. If the query is not saved, it is lost. How can I change this?
2) Why does it not always work to save the query under the same name?
3) In case of two exceptions overlap, which one has priority?
4) Why do I have to select "ALL" in all fields for the definition of the exception?
What is the meaning of that? If I don't select it, no values are hightlighted.
5) In AD HOC, when opening an existing query in order to modify it, data format are modified and prevent good working of the condition.
6) Is it possible to combine two single values in conditions ?
What is the result of such an operation?
7) What is the difference between the sign (egal, different..) at begining of the line and operator (include, exclude) at end of the line?
How to use them?
In which case to use the one or the other?
8) Is it possible to have the current month (variable) automatically displayed in the report in Ad-hoc QD?
9) When saving a BEX Web report in Excel, is it automatically updated according to new data in Infocube?

- queries are locked by transports in the production system and are referenced by 32 character strings called GUIDS - hence it is not possible to save under the same name - you would have to open the same object ( query) under a request and then change the same and push it forward.

only the totals are highlighted - enable totals on the report and you will see them highlighted.

Calculation of key figure

hi
in BI 7.0 i want to calculate 'Revenue' using formulae in Transformation like
Revenue = sale qty * unit price
where can i give the formulae whether in start routine or transfer routine.
pls give the steps.
and also i used formulae in BEx like Revenue =saleqty * unit price.
but in the result it is showing BOTH CURRENCY&UNITS like Ex: 20,000 INR KG.
SO PLS give me steps to solve it

Hi,
Here in this case youn give a simple formula inspite of routine.If you give any routine it 'll degrate your loading and query performance.
Just creat anew info object and assign this to cube and activate it.After that go for Transformations map t he Price nad Quantity to newly created info object and double click on that new object ther you can find new window ther under "Rule Type" click the mouse here you can find the 'Formul',select that.It 'll opens a formula window ther give the formuls as price*quatity.save it and activate the transformations.

Hai Everyone,
Executed Web Template and Output of the Report exported to Excel Sheet and Saved it in Local Disk.
After saving the data in Excel Sheet , I need to convert to Rows to Columns
I am facing on problem to convert the Rows in to Columns.
The layout of the excel sheet as given below link for Layout of the report.

In that report , My requirement format is like ENDCUSTOMER | MATERIAL | FISCAL YEAR PERIOD | FORECAST QTY
Without using Transpose I am getting END CUSTOMER and MATERAIL directly.
I am getting problem While shifting rows of Fiscal Year Period and Forecast Qty by using transpose function.
Any one can help me out about my requirement.

Would you consider running the report directly in the Analyser and using the Drill down functionality or Change Query - Local View of Bex to achieve this?
