Local iDisk replaced with folder labled "Previous local iDisks"

I moved and when I plugged in and restarted my computer the disk icon was gone and it was replaced with a folder labled "Previous local iDisks." Everything appears to be working the same (Word, I can find my documents, etc.), but I'm nervous that this is a sign of something wrong and that I'll suddenly find all my information has disappeared.

Hi, iDisk is no longer supported.
I assume you had a .mac/MobileMe account at one time?
If so, go to System Preferences>.Mac or MobileMe and remove your username and password.
Unmount any iDisk you may have.
If it should fail to dismount then, (Yeah crazy deal), either reboot, or open Terminal & paste in this exact line...
sudo umount -f iDisk/
It'll ask you for an Admin password that won't be echoed, but hit enter/return anyway.

  • Left over Previous local iDisks?

I just upgraded my computer and system and have 2 Previous local iDisks stored as parse bundles on my computer at 37G. Should I delete these or keep them?
    Any suggestions?

The local iDisk serves no useful purpose to me and only tends to confuse people. I have it hidden and sync turned off.
These stored iDisks are presumably just a reflection of what was stored there at some point in history. I know what I would do with them!

  • Accessing the previous local directory, to re-install my sent folder on POP

I am trying to re-install the sent emails from my POP-based email account.
The account was removed upon recommendation of a tech support person (not Mozilla!) in order to address a password problem. The tech support person thought I was using an IMAP account, and told me incorrectly that it would all re-populate when I re-installed an email account. All that is coming in are the "inbox" messages. I wish to re-instate my sent emails and really hope they are on my computer somewhere. As stated, I am using a POP-server for my email, and chose to store the messages on a local folder.
Is there a way to map to the previous local directory (or folder), which would have been the previous one, and therefore regain all my sent emails? I also have TimeMachine backups on an external hard drive, which I can access as well.
Some technical details: I am running Thunderbird 31.5.0 on a Mac 10.7.5 operating system.
Many thanks in advance. This is pretty nerve-wracking - the feeling I lost all my sent emails by removing an account...!, based on a well-intentioned tech support person.

I am on a Mac, and don't have an account online with backups.
But, working with an Apple technician, who is very helpful, we were able to figure out how to perform a Time Machine restore onto another computer - and then import those emails into my T-bird system. The problem now is that the ARCHIVE subfolders for my Thunderbird account ((all POP) where I archived old emails to allow enough space to handle new email) are now blank, with no messages.
QUESTION 1: Any thoughts for how to restore those subfolders, which show up blank, with no emails in them?
QUESTION 2: The technician could not find on my hard drive any of the folders containing emails for the deleted account. The INBOX populated automatically when I re-installed the account, but is missing a few earlier years of emails.
If this is a POP account, the records for those emails must be somewhere on my hard drive, right? Any thoughts for where one might find them? They aren't in the typical Library folder, and the technician went into a "hidden" library folder to try and find the email files.
    Many thanks!

  • What's a "Previous local iDisk for a (name).sparsebundle?

I see this file called "Previous local iDisk..." and other references to "sparsebundle". In several cases it takes up many gigs on the harddrive. Can I safely delete these files? Are they related to my iDisk and therefore will refresh themselves in the future based on the cloud? Thanks, Craig

At some point you had an iDisk mirrored on your hard drive. You must have turned off the mirroring but never removed the old sparsebundle. Assuming you no longer require it then you can safely remove it.

  • Where is Local Adjustment and CameraProfiles folder?

I installed LR5 but i need to install some presets into the respective folders mentioned in the title.
I cant find local adjustments in lightroom folder and camera profiles within camera raw folder.
Iv looked where it 'should' be but no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to install new camera profiles and some presets that refer to those profiles?  If so then you'll need the user-relative CameraProfiles folder, not the ProgramData folder that only has Adobe-supposed profiles and anything else will be ignored in there.
If you're only issue is that the CameraProfiles folder doesn't exist under the CameraRaw folder then just create it, yourself:  right-click, New Folder, type-the-name.
Regarding resetting LR to see the other folder(s) you were expecting, there is a preference whether to store presets with the catalog or not and if you had that set previously then you should look where the catalog is stored, not in the standard location, and if you had installed presets with the catalog and reset LR then those presets will have become unavailable and only the LR defaults will be there.  Even if you don't mind having presets local to the computer rather than stored with the catalog if you previously did, go check where the catalog is stored and see if you had any presets over there that you want to keep and need to copy to the standard location.  I have my catalog and current working photos on an external drive so store my presets with my catalog so I can have them available on more than one computer.
Here is what my user-relative CameraProfiles looks like where there are many profiles I've created for various lighting scenarios and cameras with a color-checker and DNG Profile Editor or the X-Rite profile creator software:

  • Find and replace with multiple files and with a watch folder

I am trying to create a watch folder that uses red_menace script to:
    1. Have a folder that receives multiple xml files that run the script one by one.
    2. then move the files to an output folder.
I tried modifying the set TheFIle to choose file -- the original text file to:
    with multiple selections allowed
But that doesn't seem to work. I know i'm missing a step. Any help is much appreciated!
    Thanks!
The way i'd like to setup things is having an input folder on the desktop (or just have the application on the desktop and I can drag the files onto it), and let it do it's thing. Once it's done have it export the xml files into an output folder.
Here's what i got so far:

set TheFIle to choose file -- the original text file

When you use the open or adding folder items to handlers, you need to add the parameters for the file items passed to them.

  • Moving a folder from one local root folder to another

I've used Dreamweaver CS4 to build my website, and I've become basically familiar with the way it works. Now I'm just starting to build a second site - and I've run into a baffling problem.
I've defined the new site in the normal way, and created the local root folder.
I've got a folder full of image files that is currently sitting in the local root folder of my old site - I'd like to put this into the local root folder of my new site.
This may seem silly, but I can't find a way to move that images folder from one local root folder to the other. I thought it would be a simple drag & drop move, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I've moved the images folder to the desktop, from where it should be easy to drag it over the new local root folder icon in Dreamweaver and drop it in - but it doesn't work.
Am I missing something obvious here...?

You should be able to access your entire computer directory structure through the Files Panel in Dreamweaver.
Click the drop down arrow next to the named site (the open site) at the top of the Files Panel and navigate up into the rest of your computer. You can then Ctrl-C (copy) the folder, re-select the name of your site (the green folders at the bottom of the directories, not in the computer structure), and Ctrl-V (paste) the folder where you want it. Contents will of course come with it.
You could (alternately) just copy and paste it working within the computer's directory structure. Paste it into the new root folder and, in Dreamweaver, refresh the view in the Files Panel. The folder should show up fine.
Notice that I have not been drag and dropping, though that should work with the last-mentioned technique.

Running Mac OS X Version 10.7.2  Lion on a MacBook Pro
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Any ideas?

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks.
My HD is a "normal" HD, so I guess it's HFS+. (According to Disk Utility it is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
The NAS is WD MyBook Live Duo. I just plugged into my Time Machine.
I am relocating using Aperture "relocate originals for project" under the File tab.
Ahh, thanks for the answer to question 1.
Yes, I am trying to relocate them, but tried different things to find the problem.
And the problem seems to be that when an image gets an extra attribute (when it's downloaded from the internet, when it is comes from a mail message) then Aperture seems not to be able to move the file.
I.e. Aperture presumeably asks the Finder or kernel to perform this task, and this then fails because of the extra attirbutes that were set.
I now found a way of manually removing the extra attributes, but that is a pain.
    Think of this normal workflow:
    - someone sends me an email containing images
    - I move the images to my Desktop
    - I then import the images into Aperture
    - I then decide to relocate my images for that project to my NAS
Then is when this problem occurs.
So I just tried to relocate to another place on my HD.
    That works fine.
I looked again at the error message.
And it says "could not set attributes com.apple.metadata:kMDItemDownloadedDate on destination file descriptor" .
So, yes, it seems like it has to do with the NAS not supporting setting the extra attributes.
And as long as there are no extra attributes on an image, there is no problem.
(Not completely true, but I have another thread about that)
Thanks Frank, I have to digest this a bit.

    Jan

  • Customize local folder for edit locally

    Hi Experts,
I am running EP 6.0 SPS 17 with KMC on system i. We are running Active Directory in the company. We have a problem with users when doing 'edit locally', since they are defined as 'user'. They don't have permission in any of the folder on the local PC, except 'c:\temp'. When doing 'edit locally', the file is downloaded into 'C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\.......' which is prohibited.
Do you know the place to customize the destination folder for 'edit locally', so we can place the downloaded file into 'c:\temp' instead?
    Thanks before.
    Best regards,
    Agoes

    Hi Agoes Boedi,
You can force KM to save the temporary files to c:\temp by creating a new user specific system variable (under environment variables) with the name "SAPKM_USER_TEMP" (and the path "c:\temp).
You need to close all browser sessions and start a new one after creating the new user specific system variable.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Could KM's documents be synchronised with Outlook or a local directory

    Dear Experts,
I wonder if KM's documents could be synchronised with Outlook or a local directory. My customer found it very important and I know that Sharepoint synchronises with Outlook.
    Is that possible?
    Thanks in advance.

    Still have problems:
    When I tried to connect
    -http://<server name>:50000/irj/go/km/docs/documents/Public%20Documents/
    Here is the error message:
-Server says: Not found (status code 404)
When I tried to access the directory in IE.
    - It shows :
The folder you are looking for has no displayable content.
You can try one of the following:
Access the folder using the Navigation user interface.
Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work.

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

  • An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user. -- Report server is on remote server and file share folder is on local server

I have deployed a report on the server (e.g. remoteserver\reports) from my local machine. I opened the report in browser in my local machine and created a new subscription with windows file share delivery option.
But its giving an error "Failure writing file \\localserver\subscriptions\Report1.xls : An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user." Here "subscriptions"
is the folder which I have created in my local machine.
I followed the instructions found in the link "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157386.aspx"
Please help to solve this issue.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have followed the same process. The credentials which I have given are same as my PC. But I am getting the same error. Can you please clarify the statement "Service
account that is using for file share subscription should have write access to shared folder."
    given in the above link?
I am the one who created the folder and subscribing the report, so probably I have the full write permissions to the shared folder. What is the service account in this context?
I think the problem is, I am deploying the report on the server and creating the shared folder in the local machine. I tried giving shared folder permissions to the user on the server. But my local machine is in local domain and I cant access the users on
the remote server. Do I need to create a shared folder on the server? I am new to SSRS. Please help me.
PS: I have assigned with all roles viz. Browser, Content Manager, Publisher, Report Builder etc. and My Role name (WEBSERVER\User)
is different from my local user name (domain\username) in domain.

  • Connecting Flash Builder with ColdFusion Server 9 Locally

Man this is a real a hassel and should be easy as hell.
I am trying to do a simple connection to the local coldfusion server with the beta 2 Flash Builder -- FlexBuilder 4.
It sould be simple. I have the local webserver be IIS (INetpub>WWWRoot)
    The coldfusion server is (C:\ColdFusion9\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex).
The services-config.xml is in that directory. So I must admit I am lost......
Any Ideas what I may have over looked?
The Error That I get is: Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
    Thanks,
    Gene

I changed the path to the coldfusion server to (C:\ColdFusion9\).
    Now it works..........Go Figure!

  • Problem with formatting date with JSTL ans swedish locale

    Hi,
I have a strange problem with JSTL fmt:formatDate -tag and swedish locale.
-------------------------- Extract from the JSP ------------------------------
    <jsp:useBean id="date" class="java.util.Date" />
    <fmt:formatDate value="${date}" pattern="dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm" />
With en_US and fi_FI locales date is printed just the way I want: 29.04.2005 13:28 but in se_SE locale it is printed: Fri Apr 29 13:30:09 EEST 2005
Has anyone had this problem before?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
