Local Object....as seen while generating a table..

Hello ,
What is the function of "LOCAL OBJECT" , as displayed on the pop up screen , while generating a table.?
I will appreciate , if some one can explain.

Once you generate save the condition table you will have the option save button and local object to save the condition table
Local object - If you click on local object you can't transfer from one server to another server .and there is no need to give any package also .
Save - If you click on save button system will ask for description to create a new transport request . Because of this a the condition table which you are saving can be transported from one server to another server . But we need to assign a package before clicking on save icon

You're getting an out of disk space error ... which means you've run out of disk space, no?
Since it's saw related I'm guessing you'll need to make more space available to your OracleBIdata/tmp directory

Error VLD-0917 (unknown error) while deploying FACT table

Hi,
I keep getting this error while trying to deploy a FACT table:
VLD-0917: An unknown error occured while generating <fact table name>.
An unknown error occurred while generating <fact table name>. Error details: java.lang.NullPointerException.
Do yo know what can it be? This fact table was linked to a Dimension that I modified (added one more level to its hierarchy). Since I did this change, the fact table cannot be validated.
This happens to all fact tables that use this dimension. I created a new cube with the new definition of the dimension and had no trouble at all. I disassociate the dimension from existing cubes and they validate OK. What could be happening?
I would appreciate any help you could provide.

Hi,
I realized that I'm getting this error for all fact tables. I cannot deploy any of them. What could be happening? I have a dimension that is linked to all facts which I changed recently: had to redefine its default hierarchy as a value-based one. I don't know if this affected my cubes.
Any idea what might be happening here?

hi,
Go to se80 transaction.
Choose Local Objects from the list box.
Give the user Id in the field below it.
Say display.
YOu would get all the local objects created by that user
Another method.
For local objects created by user goto TADIR table,
data: i_tadir type standard table of tadir.
Select * from tadir into table where OBJ_NAME like 'Y%'
and AUTHOR eq <User-Name>.
You will get all the local object created by a particular user.
For getting the Transport request created by a particular user:
Data: i_E070 type standard table of E070.
Select * from E070 into table E070 where AS4USER = <User-name>.

GPM Custom GPO-Settings: An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

As you can tell from the title of this question, I am no expert with GPO's. Before I begin, I spent a few minutes to an hour searching and reading in hopes of finding the solution and avoid putting myself out there as a "GPO Newb". While
I found several posts and answers that were similar and were related, the questions and answers were more advanced and did present the solutions providing the person had initial knowledge already. That is not necessarily my case and I would ask for a
little patience and a bit of 'hand-holding' for what I need.
I run SBS 2011, and in Group Policy Management I have a custom GPO. In this GPO I define all my settings. I understand this may not be the best or most practical method of applying policies, but I am not very strict and have few settings. This
policy existed prior to my joining the company, and was migrated in to this SBS '11 from SBS '03. That may be the issue, but before making any changes I am seeking expert advice.
When I select that GPO, named "Main GPO", and click on the tab at the top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I saw that when I right click the GPO > View > Options and select the tab "Reporting" that it states that for reporting to work the location of the .adm files must be specified. I see that my option for the location is set to "Default"
which by my guessing would be located in the C:\Windows\sysvol directory. Below is what I see there:
C:\Windows\sysvol\domain
C:\Windows\sysvol\staging
C:\Windows\sysvol\staging areas
C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol
I think the problem is that my custom GPO are not inside the default location, which I speculate is: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies (which I do see some objects there).
But instead I also see items in this folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies (while where I just typed 'JOHN.LOCAL' is my actual local domain).
To further this, when I edit that custom GPO, then at the very top of the tree I right click on it and select Properties, I see a Unique Name listed there as a long string of numbers and letters, similar to a registry entry. I searched my server for
that same Unique Name and found it listed inside the folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
If I am correct with my assumption and basic knowledge, I should move all objects as follows:
-Move FROM: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
-Move TO: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies
My concerns are that I am not correct at all, that I will break something, that there may be an easier fix than moving anything, or that I am overlooking something causing this error altogether.

That's due to a security setting (most possibly) your current OS does
not understand. Hard to find out wich exact setting it is... To resolve
this issue, we need the gtpptmpl.inf file residing in the policiy's
sysvol folder. To open this folder, edit the policy, move to computer
settings - policies - windows settings - scripts - startup, press "show
files". Then move two folders upwards and back down to
.\microsoft\windows nt\secedit. There you'll see the gpttmpl.inf - post
its contents and we'll have a look at it.

The creation of device local data objects - Unable to find generated object

Hi all,
I get an error when I try to generate an ESDMA containing a "Device Local" data object.
I have created a "Device Local" data object containing a very simple node structure. The object is "active" and everything seems to work fine, until I generate the ESDMA. The following error is shown : Unable to find generated objects in repository.
The esdma is generated without problems, when I remove the device local data object.
I hope you have some ideas of what the issue might be.

Actually i am working on this problem together with Nima and the problem is not related to SAP Basis objects.
The problem is in SDOE_WB, with the SWCV. Creating a Data object of type LOCAL DEVICE and a NODE. If you add a field/s and then activate, and look in Generated objects The Table object is not generated (only the structure and the table type). At this point there are no syntax/error messages.
If we try to generate an esdma using the ESDMA design time, using this SWCV, it fails, with the message, Unable to find generated objects, in the repository. That is it is looking for the Table object that was not generated in sdoe_wb. This is only a problem with creating a data object of type DEVICE LOCAL, every other type of DO is fine.. I assume it is an SAP error.

Table maintanace automatically going to local object

      I have created a table and a maintance generator , but whenever i save it in a packege the maintanance generator is saved as a local object automatically....is there any specfic setting i need to change
Also i need to create some data in devlopment and transport the same table with data to quallality..but i am not getting a request number at all

    Check whether table has request or not? if not from the menu goto->object directory entry   there you can give the package name then the request will be created.
   Do the same for the table maintenance also.

Middleware:-Getting an error while generating objects

Hi experts,
    While generating objects as part of middleware generation in CRM 5.0 i am getting errors in transaction "GENSTATUS" because of which i am not able to perform my initial load and the error message is "TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED". Also i am getting a short dump for that.
    Is there anything new in CRM 5.0 which needs to be done that was not there in CRM 4.0.
     Can anyone help me on how shall i proceed.

Now the Strange Issue came,
While generating the proxy objects i got that above mentioned error
After that i have run the 3 report programs according to the Ramesh Suggession
Now if i goto SPROXY means it is saying that No Conection to Integration Builder .
I have checked the RFC Destination created in SM59 of SAP R/3 of Type H.It is fine
What more i have to check
First of all when ever i open the Sropxy, every time User & pwd is requesting

Error while generating Data Objects in sdoe_wb SAP for Basis component

Dear all,
While generating SAP BASIS Components getting error
After installations of SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 SP11 and all the Notes applied for SP11 i have done the Generation for all the SAP BASIS Data Objects
All the Data objects are generated except AGENT_CONFIG, ARCHIVE
When i check the same in smq2 it shows the error in Function module SDOE_GENERATE_MBO for the user FUNC001,in status text it shows "connection closed (no data)"
kindly help on this issue.

Hi,
well, I guess if you mean you did reset the queue - you deleted all emtries with error. Try to avoid this in the future - you will get unwanted side effects by that. There are only a few errors that make this behaviour necessary.
Usually you should select the entry on the first screen - so you see the status of the queue on the second one. On there you can select the queue and while pressing the green tick, you can restart it. If it is a timeout - this restart usually helps.
Wondering why you have an issue with basis objects - did you run through the complete setup guide up to this point?

Unable to view settings tab in one GPO. "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I am the owner of this GPO and I can view the settings tab in any other GPO. But, I get the following message when I try to view the settings tab in one particular GPO:
An error occurred while generating report:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Other posts I look at reference the same error, but with different circumstances, and thus, they specify that the hotfix is for to fix the error under
those circumstances.
I'm accessing GPMC on a Win 7 SP1 machine. DC is Server 2012 Standard.

You can filter ADM templates to show configured ones only, and you can
use the "show all settings" node. This will speed the work up - a little
bit at least :)

Well, I can tell you that this kind of error is not OS related, but rather a HW thing. It happens where there is a general detection of something going wrong. Sometimes it can happen randomly and might not be an indication of a problem. But sometimes it can be caused by things that are improperly functioning within the system like bad capacitors.
Unfortunately I don't really know what to do about such things except give you machine a proper inspection. But if things are working fine, and continue to do so, I wouldn't worry about it. If it becomes a regular occurance, then I'd worry.

Middleware error while Generating all Required Objects(SMOGTOTAL)

Dear Experts,
I am trying to establish Middleware setup between CRM2007 and ECC 6.0.
When i am trying to Generate all Required Objects in CRM by using T.code SMOGTOTAL
when i checked Status of Generation Job by using the Tcode GENSTATUS we are getting an error saying
"/1CRMGC/CGCUST_TG_WRITE_DTC:The data object "<FS_DTC>" does not have a component called "GROUPNO"."

Reason:
Based on the generation it will be decided to add the field
GROUPNO to the generated database table. If the table has been generated once, the generation will step over it each time afterwards.
That means, after doing changes regarding that, the generation will not
create the table again.
=> In the first generation run the error has occurred (I don't know why).
So in all other generation runs afterwards it has not been corrected.
Then you have to removed the generated table and run the generator
DATA_COLLECTOR_TABLE of the generator group "Data Collection Service".
Afterwards, the table will be created with the field GROUPNO

Package and local object?

Hello Gurus,
While crating condition table(M/03), I am selecting field combinations(vend, plant, matl etc). After that, I am clicking on Generate button, it is asking me package name(pop up window). If i m avoiding that and clicking on local object, it is allowing me to create condition table.
My doubt is :
what is the use package name and local object in this context and why it is asking?

Hello,
You have to assign all the transportable development objects to any package (formerly called Development Class) and then only it becomes transportable. If you assign to $TMP package, then it will become local oject which is not transportable and no change request will be generated when your try to save the object.
Package is nothing but a logical grouping of development objects.
