Local snapshots are not taken any longer

Not that local snapshots are vital to me, but I found out that my MBP, once freshly installed Mavericks and Time Machine migration done, doesn't take any local snapshot.
It happened that I was searching for a file I deleted a day before, while a message said that TM backup disk was not connected: of course it wasn't connected, but I believed that a recent snapshot would have been saved onto my MBP hard drive.
On Lion and Mountain Lion this feature worked correctly (and used to eat free space!). I upgraded to Mavericks, then I changed the MBP hard drive, so I decided to install a new copy of Mavericks and to migrate my Time Machine content on it. Now local snapshots are not taken. In fact on the System Preferences->Time Machine I can't read about them, while I clearly remember that in ML there was a sentence written about this feature.
What could have happened?

Don't know why, but it resulted disabled. I had to execute a Terminal command to re-enable them, as read on other posts and on this Pondini's page.

Patterns are not accessible any longer...

Hi there -
I was creating an image in photoshop, using patterns with ease...when all of a sudden, they vanished. The patterns that I was using are still on the image, but I cannot see them -- or anything -- in my patterns menu. There's just a line there where the images for the patterns used to be. See image for what it looks like...Sorry for the grainy picture -- my screen shot wouldn't let me click on the pattern menu after I made the screenshot, and the drop down menu for the patterns would go away after I clicked the "screenshot button"...
Anyways, you can sort of make out the line above the mouse. That is where my patterns used to be. When I go into an image where I have successfully used patterns in the past, the pattern is shown in place of the black diagonal boxes, but when I click on the arrow to see the rest of my patterns, the same line shows up.
I have tried to restart photoshop, restart my computer, etc., and nothing has worked. Would it be worth it to uninstall photoshop from my creative cloud/computer and then re-install it again? Has anyone had this happen? Is there another way to access the patterns than in the blending options panel?

Any script to cancel the PO which are not taken receipt from the back end?

Hi,
We need to cancel the PO Shipments which are not taken receipts to reverse the encumbrnace budegatory amount. is there any script i can use so that i can cancel all the PO's which are not taken receipts or we need to manually cancel the each shipment by navigating in to the PO summary window using the Tools > Control option.
Please let me know your views..ASAP
Note: We are using the 11.5.10.2 version with encumbrance budgetary funds checking for PO's.

There is no documented,proven and supported way of doing such thing using scripts. Best to do it from front end; use dataloader for large volumes, and data loader in forms playback mode for larger volumes.

In SOLUTION MANAGER, the thresholds for log attrib are not taken in account

Im using a SAP SOLUTION MANAGER to monitor any satellites systems.
In this case, I have a problem with the monitoring of BDoc messages for a satellite.
Im declaring some threshold for BDocs in error status and anothers thresholds for BDocs in waiting for response in SOLMAN.
Unfortunately, the thresholds are not taken in account.
Here, you should find the threshold in the setup monitoring:
      green to yellow: 10
      yellow to green:   11
      red to yellow:       9
      yellow to green:   8
When I have only 2 errors in the satellite system and 1 entrie in Waiting status ,I have 2 red alerts in SOLMAN. It is not correct because my thresholds in SOLMAN are greater than this values.
unfortunately thresholds are only considered for performance attributes
(see legend in the monitoring setup). For all other MTE types in CCMS
the tresholds are not considered. The BDoc MTEs that I have used
in my example is a log attribute.
Please, someone could you help me to solve this problem or indicate me how to correct this problem with another tips?

Sorry, but what you say is not a good idea, since it would mean changing a standard object. But what I posted is ok, using a redefinition of the method GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS works perfectly well for the need.

In a metachain local chain are not getting triggered

Hi ,
I dont see any reason why Process chain is not getting triggered . Just check the Metachain in change mode and activate it again .
Also please check display variant in all of the Local Process chains .It should be using metachain .
2. Can you please check the status of the Previous local Process chains and check the status of the same in tables RSPCPROCESSLOG , RSPCPROCESSCHAIN .The status should be successfully finished .

How do I create a smart playlist of songs that are not in any playlist?

I have zillions of songs and many playlists to manage them. So how do I create a smart playlist that shows songs that are not in any playlist?
An easier answer would be " Playlist > is > None" but this option is not available.
Any other creative solutions?
(...and a long list of "Playist > is not > Playlist AA" through "Playist > is not > Playlist ZQ" is not a manageable answer as my playlists are too dynamic for that. Such a playlist would always be broken.)

Thanks. Your suggestion is good but it does not allow me to scan multiple page documents and get a unique pdf file (I get as many files as there are pages in the document). With the HP scan software it was possible to do it but this software does not work any longer with Maveriks. I do hope that this problem will be solved as soon as possible.

Time Machine Local Snapshots are completely filling my hard drive

I have a MacBook Air and have been receiving errors about my hard drive being full. It turns out that Time Machine's Local Snapshots are filling up my hard drive completely (dangerously so). Obviously there must be something wrong with my machine as Local Snapshots are supposed to only occur if my hard drive is less than 80% full. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this problem?

what is confusing is why I would get a warning message that the disc was becoming full if there is 128GB worth of files that should have been automatically deleted?
You didn't get the warning because of that. You got it because of the files that you moved to another volume, and perhaps others. The local snapshots contain some of those files. They're available, for the time being, in case you need to restore them. Eventually they'll be deleted.

Keyboard does not workd any longer after re-opening the Laptop / OS sleep (Win XP SP2 + SP3)

I have a problem and if someone else knows a solution or encountered the same, some feedback would be great.
On my Z61 I experienced it sometimes when I was out for presentations that after opening the lid of the laptop and the OS recovered from sleep, the whole keyboard did not work any longer. Even such special key-combos like switching thinklight on or off did not work any longer.
The only thing I can do then is to press the power button down for some seconds to force the computer to switch off. Logically, any unsaved work is lost then. Any Ideas? I recently removed all ThinkVantage Components and then re-installed them because I was experiencing problems with the software. Now everything else works again but this keyboard switched off problem appeared again.

I have sp3, t60. From time to time my keyboard and touchpad are not working but external mouse is working. Searching through the internet i observed that this is not only my case, i assume this is XP SP3 problem.
How I am solving this: going to software manager, droping keyboard device. Here windows behavior differs from time to time, it can ask me for reboot, and can just go for reboot without any prompt. In any case after droping device i am getting keyboard working, and after several reboots touchpad starts to work.
On SP2 i had never experienced this problem.

How to view songs that are not in any playlist

I am using iTunes 6.04.
I want to be able to view songs in my Library that are not associated with ANY playlist. How can this be done? Please don't suggest to me upgrading to iTunes 7.02. (with every iTunes update, Apple makes is more difficult to do the things Apple doesn't want you to be able to do).

I have an answer.
Run one of these scripts:
Not In Any Playlist will create a text listing of songs that are not in any playlist.
Not In Any Playlist To Playlist will put songs that are not in any playlist into a new playlist.

That's corrected, they save to your camera roll.

How can I find photos that are not in any event?

Help! I have finally, after a decade or so, organized my events and emptied out the trash and gotten rid of duplicates. Round of applause, please. How can I find out if there are sneaky pictures that are NOT in any particular event (please dont say by showing all photos and just going through each one!)

You can't because every photo is in an Event already. That's how iPhoto works. Every photo is in the LIbrary. The Library is built upon events. SO if it's in iPhoto, it's in the Library and in an Event.
Albums are different, as they refernce photos in the LIbrary. It;s perfectly possilbe to have a photo in the Library but not in an album.

Mail settings are not saved any more

after my mailbox structure has crashed, I tried to reset Mail as explained in this answer: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22302114#22302114
After restarting Mail all settings were deleted (as expected) and I set up my accounts and settings again. Then I recognized that the settings are not saved any more. I tried some times but Mail didn't save the settings.
I hope there is a chance to fix this problem.

Thanks for linked document but I find it funny and someone rude that the article assumes that EVERYONE knows the lingo used - i.e. Profile Folder is in "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\" . Where the hell is that???? Jesus, it's much easier to switch to Chrome.
