"Local Storage" pop-up?

Anyone seen this pop-up window asking you to authorize "local storage"? It's new, and looks bogus. Even clicking "Deny" doesn't make it go away. What's up with that?

This is a standard Flash dialog requesting additional storage.  This page describes how this works and what options you have:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help02.html
And this page allows you to make these changes globally.

You might try tweaking your global privacy settings.  I suspect it's set to "always ask."
Go to this page -- http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l -- which contains the settings panel for Flash Player, and click on the various "deny" buttons to disable this.  (It's a good idea to click on all the tabs to check the settings.)
If this works for you, please post back.  (I know it worked for me.)

  • Unexpected display of Local Storage pop-up screen.

For many years now I have used a dictionary application (Shorter Oxford English Dictionary or SOED6) which is essentially a tool for displaying dictionary data on a monitor screen.
This application was run originally on a Pentium 4 under Windows XP, and more recently on an Intel Core i7 under Windows 8 and later under Windows 8.1. During the time it was running on the Pentium the then-current versions of Flash Player were installed and maintained. I only installed Flash Player (currently v 14.0.0.145) on my Windows 8.1 system about two to three weeks ago.
Two days ago I tried to run the SOED6 application, and found that it locked up as soon as the basic screen was displayed, with an Adobe Flash Player Settings message superimposed across the display (see below):
This was the first time I had ever seen this happen with the application. I cannot remember just when I had run it previously, but I feel reasonably confident that the change in behavior only happened after installing Flash Player.
The major immediate problem was that the settings screen did not respond as might be expected to the "Allow" button (it flickered briefly, but nothing further occurred). There was no response to the "Deny " button either . The "?" symbol did take me to a Flash Player Help page on my browser (which for the record is Firefox 30.0). After a few hours searching for information online I did manage to work out that I could use the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager to reserve a local storage area before trying to run the application. This circumvented the problem, but leaves me with two questions:
    1. Why has this display suddenly started popping up? (additional security feature?)
    2. Given that the appearance of the display is a valid feature, why is it not responding to user input as it should do?

I don't know the answer to your questions, but you can set storage settings permanently in the Flash Player Settings Manager.

  • Adobe Flash Player Settings 'local storage' pop up will not go away

I didn't see a Flash Player selection that fits, so hope this group is the right one...For the last few weeks when I access a website with a video ability, an Adobe Flash message pops up saying the site wants to place information on my computer.  It offers 'accept' and 'deny'.  If I select 'deny' it just stays and I cannot watch the video.  Please tell me how to make it disappear without being forced to selection 'allow' which I do not want to do.  I'm not a techie, so please give me as simple instruction as you can.many thanks

I asked ITV to help and the reply said:
If clearing your cache does not resolve your issue then please follow the
below instructions to clear your local flash storage:
    On a PC:
    Click Start
    Select Control Panel
    Click on Flash Player
Under the Storage tab click Delete all

  • Is it possible to customize "Local Storage" pop-up dialog?

I am writing a Flex app that will need to store about 500K
worth of data to the user's local shared object space to improve
subsequent load times. Is there any way to customize the popup that
appears when I commit more than 100K to shared object space?

    Hi,
I don't think you can customize that.

  • Local storage proble

WE are unable to play Bingo Island on Facebook. There is a local storage pop-up, be we cannot click on allow, deny or the blue underlined web link.

The easiest workaround is to just avoid this dialog.
Go to Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage and choose Allow sites to save information on this computer, then refresh the page with your game.

  • I get a pop up of "adobe flash player settings" requesting local storage and it will not respond to either deny or accept.  Help please

I get a pop up of "adobe flash player settings" requesting local storage.  It will not respond to either deny or accept.  Please help.

    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
Select either one of the radio buttons marked
Allow sites to save information on this computer
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
according to your preference. The usual display of Flash content doesn't require that you allow it to save information. Note also that this setting only affects Flash; it has no effect on web cookies or AutoFill.

  • What is "local storage" in Safari 5.1.7

Why is it in Safari 5.1.7 that it always takes a couple of reset Safari's to actually clear out local storage? Everything else always clears out, just local storage will pop back in ...

Might be the security fixes >  Safari 5.1.10 for Snow Leopard

  • Adobe Flash Player Settings Local Storage popup from Mafia Wars on Facebook.

I play Mafia Wars on Facebook. I use Mac OS 10.6.5, Flash Player 10.1, and Firefox 3.6.8. Some time ago I received a popup from Zynga entitled Adobe Flash Player Settings,  Local Storage asking permission to store info on my harddrive and giving me the option to allow or deny the request. However the popup is stuck; that popup will not go away.
I have contacted Zynga, followed their instructions, and have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player. all with no success. When I play this game on other computers, including PCs, that popup is not there which leads me to the conclusion that the file is on my Mac hard drive somewhere and has nothing to do with the game itself. Please tell me how to find this file so that I may delete it. It spoils my enjoyment of the game because it limits what I can do in the game.
    Thanks loads.

Hi, I would go to the Global Settings site here:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.htm l
I would click on the website that gave you the popup and delete that website. Perhaps this will clear it since it is stuck.
When you visit that website again, it will problably ask to store info. Be sure to read about the Website Storage Settings Panel and how it works with the Global Storage Settings Panel.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb
P.S. If Flash Player is working, there is no need to Uninstall and Install it again. The games and Facebook will try to always tell you something is wrong with Flash Player. Clearly it was working until their pop up stuck, right?

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 - Enable Local Storage Issue

    Hi all,
Having and issue after upgrading to Flash Player 10 from 9.
Some chat room applications are indicating that they cannot run
since local storage is not enabled. If I log into the PC as the
domain admin everything works fine. If a regular user logs in, that
message appears. What has adobe changed in Flash Player 10 that I
    need to update?
    Thanks.

    Me too!
On both IE8 and Firefox. Win 7 32 bit on IBM T42 - 1GB ram.
Old laptop I know but the 10.1.x.x Flash Players worked just fine. Problem started with 10.2.152.26 flash player.
Now BBC TV live and iPlayer work just fine, however YouTube does not - audio but no video. Just a black rectangle where the video should be.
Right click to get the menu and "settings" is greyed out. However select the pop-out option and the video plays. Right click on the pop-out and "settings" is available. So deselect "enable hardware acceleration", close the pop-out and refresh the window (F5) and now YouTube videos play. Switch hardware acceleration back on and now they don't.
This video works fine with hardware acceleration enabled. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/features/video/h264/
    These also work. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/stagevideo.html
Something broken in 10.2, I think.

  • Adobe Flash Player settings : Local Storage Requests

After my recent update to the current version of Adobe Flash Player, I began getting these pop-ups requesting Local Storage access to my computer.  There is an allow or deny button, but when you chose to deny it, the pop-up just never goes away or continues to come back.  I object to these requests and want these pop-ops to go away. Does anyone have an answer to this problem ? How do you disable this ?

Use the Flash Player Settings Manager to permanently allow or deny.

  • I'm try to buy a movie from iTunes with my I pad 3 and it tells me there is not enough local storage and when I go to my local storage there is a lot on free storage I also restarted my ipad but still the same prob what do I do?

I'm try to buy a movie from iTunes with my I pad 3 and it tells me there is not enough local storage and when I go to my local storage there is a lot on free storage I also restarted my ipad but still the same prob what do I do?

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie.  Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with.  The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad.  You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.

  • How do I download a movie to my phone?  when I click 'rent' through itunes, I get a message that there is not enough available local storage, but I can manage my local device storage usage in 'Settings'.  I have activated icloud, but this has not helped.

How do I download a movie to my iphone 3G?  When I click 'rent' in itunes, I get a message that there is not enough available local storage, but I can manage storage on my device in 'Settings'.  I have activated icloud, but don't know how to change my storage so that I can rent and watch the movie on my phone.  thanks for any help you can give.

I always do my Rentals with the itunes program on the computer.
Make rental from itunes store. It will show in movies under library, DO NOT click to play it. Plug in the device to the computer. Click the name of the device on left. Click on movies. There is an  option to copy to the device. Sync. obviously you still need space on ipad to put rental but you can have it take computers hard drive space until you need it.

You don't. Delete 'stuff' you don't need or buy a phone with more storage. you can not increase or upgrade the internal storage in the iPhone.

  • Local Storage on IPad and Iphone is missing IOS7

    Hi,
I have a Jquery Mobile app working fine in IOS6, upgrading to IO7 on the Ipad and Iphone the app is crashing when returning lists of data that previously worked. Our app works exclusivley with the local storage code in all modern browers allowing offline usage. Seems like the IOS7 upgrade is disrupting this somehow. I
cannot see the Local Storage icon in the web developerm, I am expecting this.
I can load around 40 list items into JqueryMobile, after that Safari crashes and the Wed Developer disappears. Any thoughts welcome.
