Local storage with Content viewer

I have a problem with local storage since last update of the content viewer. We create a folio with exclusive HTML5 files using some data that have to be saved on the iPad (User ID). It works very well during one month but since the last update, we have a real failure with the folio and it's gonna be the same with our custommer if we don't find the answer… Can anybody help me please !!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your interest.
The folio we create is build to help doctors in work with the patients. The doctor has to fill an ID once and after that, have acces to two kinds of visit. We create a random asking to visit with support of videos or without (in fact, it's a nearly fake 'cos we control the total amount of visits with and without). Then he has to fill a form and when he push on SEND, he comes back to the first article. He saw the number of visit he already made and when he makes a new one, he don't have to put his id anymore. If we works offline, he must, at a moment, get a WIFI to send the datas from the visits he makes without connexion.
So, we use a local storage to remember the ID, the number of visits and the results of the form until he get a WIFI…
With the update, we realize that the Java Script seems not te be support anymore.
I hope you undersand my explonations with my approximative english wich s not my first language…

  • Can't view interactive items with Content Viewer

I have created some interactive items in InDesign CS6; rollover buttons, animation, slideshow... etc. when I click Preview at the bottom of the Folio Overlay panel it works fine but when I test with Content Viewer(both desktop and iPad 2), it's not working. Let me know if you can help me on this, I have spent last couple days to figure out this error but no luck so far.
Thought I did something wrong so I have test with "Local Spring" tutorial and swipe 360 viewer and slideshow don't work either.
System Info: Mac Lion OX, CS6, Adobe Content Viewer(v20), DPS tools are all updated.

Have you tried moving it over to the actual device to test it (i.e. iPad)? I found my videos didn't look very well on the desktop version of the Content Viewer but when I moved it over to the iPad, it looked great.
    Just a thought.

  • Pinch and zoom with Content Viewer

Question regarding the Content Viewer -- I noticed the pinch and zoom does not appear to work with DPS files viewed in the content viewer. Once the files are built for final and submitted, will there be pinch and zoom available or does DPS prevent that from being available on the iPad? Thanks.

Pinch and zoom only works with pages created with PDF graphic format and with no interactivity.

  • Use local storage with freenas

    Hello,
a common trick that you can do in ESXi is this: you put a nas appliance (freenas) in local storage as iscsi target and use the same esxi as iscsi initiator.
Can I do a similar thing in oraclevm?
    Thanks,
    Mario

Can I do a similar thing in oraclevm? You can present storage from one VM to another VM, but I wouldn't recommend using for shared/repository storage as the agent will startup before the guest does, and the storage will not be available during boot.

  • Local storage resource need and use. How it difference from actual VM instance drives?

    Hi,
I am not able to quite understand the use of local storage resource that we configure from service definition file. The local storage is not durable and provides access same as file storage we would typically use in local environment like c:\my.txt.
As this local storage is not durable; so is the information stored on (for example C drive) role instance VM. So what is the advantage we get by using local storage resource? Instead we can save it on C drive of role instance VM. Why local storage
is recommended instead of using VM's drive?
Please let me know your views.

    Hi,
    >>So what is the advantage we get by using local storage resource?
Because of the local storage is not durable, On a cloud service, we can create a small local storage where you can save temporary files, this is a powerful model for some scenarios, , especially highly scalable applications, please have

  • Defaulting fonts when viewing DPS articles in Adobe Content Viewer

    Hi.
My fonts are defaulting throughout my folio when I view articles in Adobe content viewer.
This folio is a PDF. I have published before and not had this issue.
Is the problem with Content Viewer?
Will the type display correctly when I publish this folio and view in app?
    Thank you.

When a font is missing or unlinked that font shows up as a default font.
The fonts in these documents are not missing or unlinked.
When I update the article it fixes the problem, but only temporarily.
The fonts default the next time I view the article.

  • Content Viewer asks me to update app

    Hi.
I have imported a magazine to the ADPS server with Folio Builder. When I opened my Content Viewer with iPad, I tried to download the magazine. But a message said that I had to update my app to a newer version.
So I deleted the app. Then I went to the App Store and downloaded the Content Viewer again. But the same message appeared. What is causing this?
    Jean.

Jean, Bob explained it here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/868393?tstart=0
You used Folio Builder 1.1. with Content Viewer 1.7 (the next version of the folio builder (1.8) is currently in approval state by apple and should appear in the app store anytime soon)

  • Local Storage in SQL Server 2012 (Fast Track Appliance)

    Hello,
Before procuring the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Fast Track Appliance, we require additional information to satisfy the requirements from our infrastructure staff.  What type of data is stored in the local storage?  It seems that the local storage
may be used for computations functionality only (temporary tables etc?); therefore, the only system backups that we may need to perform are for the main server and spare server which also contains all computation nodes (each SQL Server 2012 instance running
on virtual machines?).  In fact, we probably don’t need any backups since the spare server provides a fail-over mechanism and allows for our engineers to “repair” any issues on the problem server? Also, If all of our data is already on a separate system
outside of this data warehouse and can simply be exported back to the PDW system, then perhaps we don’t require backups? We simply use this data warehouse for analysis of the data (query and reporting).  The data collection and maintenance are permanently
    stored on a separate system.
One last question, if required – could we remove the local storage and replace it with our enterprise SANs? – likely a performance hit; however, may still be better than having to integrate separate hardware components to try to replicate the fast track
appliance and attempt to tune for performance.  Our infrastructure policy requires the use of enterprise SANs and reduction in local storage (possibly from new data center consolidation policies).
Thank you for helping us to decide quickly and purchase this Fast Track Appliance expeditiously to meet our rapidly approaching deadline.  I have been unable to find answers to these questions from Microsoft pre-sales and tech support staff (without
    a support contract).
    Thank you,
    Vinh

    Hello,
    Thank you for the question.
If the data in the local storage can be extracted from the PDW again, we don't need to backup them.
As for the storage replacement, technically speaking, you can replace the local storage with the different SANs. However, if you do so, you will lead the system to a nonsupport scenario.

  • Unpublished folio falls to bottom of content viewer?

Is this a "feature change" - or a bug?
Unpublished folios now sort to the bottom when viewing the Adobe ID with Content Viewer.
Unless you "Preview on Ipad" - in which case it sorts to the top as it has in the past.
    Anyone else notice this quirk?

Has there been any update to this discussion? We're having this same problem. The error has existed with every folio we've proofed with Adobe Content Viewer in 2013; folios published or unpublished in 2012 showed up sequentially as intended. It is becoming a bigger problem as we are trying to proof more folios and our reviewers are having to scroll through several screens to see the new content. We're using Adobe Content Viewer ver. 3.0 on iPad 1, 2 and 3, all with the same results. Any help would be very appreciated.

  • Downloading froze and Adobe Content Viewer crashed.

I tried downloading folio data with content viewer on iPad.
(InDesign Plugin: V18, Content Viewer V2.3)
But the downloading froze and the content viewer crashed very often.
I checked the folio data on DPS Dashboard and I think the folio data is OK.
And the status of Acrobut.com is "The service is available. No issues repoeted." on Acrobat.com Health.
    What's going on?

Which verison Mac OS are you using? What is the verison of InDesign is being used ? Have you donwloaded all the most recent updates to Folio Producer Tools, Folio Builder, and have the new Viewer Builder since this Monday-Jan 30?

  • Adobe Content Viewer update yesterday is buggy

Adobe Content Viewer update yesterday is causing my scrollbar to fall in the wrong position.
This needs to be fixed ASAP!
I have clients that are going to look at this today!

    This is currently being investigated
This seems to be an issue with Content Viewer (v32.5) from the App Store.
If I build one from the App Builder 32.4.4 (same v32.5), the bar is back to its original position.
Not a solution but might be a workaround for some until this is fixed.

  • Share local storage

    Hi,
    According to the online help:
    Note
In Oracle VM, sharing a local physical disk between VMs is possible but not recommended.
Can someone know how to share a local storage device ? Because it is something I would like to test ;-)
    Thank you,

My physical disk is in fact a SAN LUN (but need a third party driver) which explain why I want to share a local storage with all my OracleVM dom0 (all of them can see and have access to the LUN) and store my guests VDI on it.If you're using a SAN LUN, this is not local storage, it's shared storage. Oracle VM will automatically format this with OCFS2.
I'm not familiar with ASM but correct me if I'm wrong it is "just" a volume manager (like LVM2) ? Could I use ASM like I use LVM2 with my Xen/KVM open source installations : I mean create a LV for each guests VDI and avoid using a cluster aware FS (like OCFS2) ?ASM is used by Oracle Database for data storage. It is both a logical volume manager, a redundancy engine and a filesystem. It cannot be used outside of database. You cannot use ASM for Oracle VM. You also cannot use LVM with Oracle VM, as it is not cluster aware. You must use OCFS2 and the Oracle VM UI to configure an Oracle VM pool.

  • Content to local storage

I would like to request to move our ItunesU site for mnstate.edu moved to local storage. I would like to request separate public and private content. Can you let me know the correct procedure in doing both of these requests.

    Curt, Shannon ...
Lemme disambiguate your questions. Let's tackle public/private sites first.
To request a public site (with a public feature page), send an e-mail to: [email protected] and ask the iTunes U gurus to set one up for you. Public sites and public feature pages are described in the iTunes U admin guide as well as here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/ann.jspa?annID=602
"Logically" and "structurally" speaking, a public site and a private site are pretty near identical. The only differences between them are the appearance of the public site's welcome page (the "public feature" page as it's called in the documentation) and the intended use of the public site (that is, to be the place where readily-accessible public content goes). Another thing to note is that your private site and your public site share the same storage on Apple's servers (if you choose to let Apple host your content) ... taken together, they cannot exceed more than 500GB.
Note that in either (or both) a private site and a public site, you can host content on local servers ... this is, on servers controlled by your school and not by Apple. The way that Apple manages this is that you setup RSS feeds for your content and tell Apple to link those feeds to tabs ("groups") within iTunes U courses. Apple refreshes RSS feeds every night ... so if you update something locally, it likely won't appear in a course tab until "tomorrow". However, you can force an immediate RSS refresh through the web service. Also note that the amount of content you can host locally is only limited by the amount of money your school is willing to spend on hard drives. Apple cannot request that this storage be increased because it's something internal to your institution.
You do not need to send Apple a request to allow you to host content locally ... just go into your iTunes U site and setup a course tab. Tell the tab that it takes content from an RSS feed (by filling in the info the tab requests) and you're done.
    Hope this was helpful.

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie.  Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with.  The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad.  You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.
