Local transfer issues with ichat with different os

i have updated a few machines to 10.6.3 but others are still on 10.5 (latest release).
since the update no transfer on the local network will go through succesfully between the different systems.

On the 10.6.3 machines have you tried Repair Permissions in Disk Utility (Application.Utilities) ?
I would also try a PRAM reset.
Shut down the computer.
Restart it holding down APPLE(or ⌘ )ALT(⌥)+PR Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
Also if you are using MobilMe try turning Off Back to My Mac in System Preferences > MobileMe
I have this issue from iChat 5.0.3 to iChat 4.0.8 but not in the other direction.

I see the same error when I try connecting in ichat with my dad. I'm able to connect with other sites without problems, but cannot connect with him. the console shows this error:

What do I do to REMOVE an old AIM account and replace it with a new account in IChat?

(Actually, two people share a laptop, but one of us cannot use her AIM account cuz mine is in iChat already... And, when traveling, I have the computer - and I would like to use iChat on the computer...)

In iChat 4 you can have more than one AIM Valid name logged in at once.
AIM valid = AIM, @mac.com or a MobileMe name.
What you are then stuck with is that iChat is linked to one Buddy Picture and The one Mac User Account's Address Book which may or may not have Full Names, emails details, or a Nickname in iChat 4 linked to the Screen Names.
Whilst it does let you both log in whilst using one Mac User Account there are drawbacks about who uses the keyboard and reading meesages from the other persons Buddies.

SCCM issue - "LANG_LIST has some locales which does not match with the locale of serial number"

I have a problem with the error "LANG_LIST has some locales which does not match with the locale of serial number" recurring.
I am trying to install Acrobat XI Std silently by SCCM.
I've used the Adobe Customisation Wizard to create a mst which include the volume serial number we have with our licence purchases. Note that I am in Australia. I use the command line in SCCM for the install as "msiexec /i "AcroStan.msi" TRANSFORMS="D&B_AcroStd.mst" /qn" which fails silently. If I install on a local machine using an admin command prompt and changing to /qb at the end, I get the aforementioned error.
I have a few things to try and resolve, having searched the adobe forums and other forums for the solution. The mst is only trying to install US English & I have even gone so far as to use the direct editor in the customisation wizard and change some values in the property table to resolve this. In the property table I can confirm that LANG_SEL_DEFAULT = ENU, REGIONAL_LIST = ENU, LANG_LIST = en_US, ProductLanguage = 1033
Is there a way to check the language specified for ym serial number?

Thanks for the location, I've downloaded and then when I tried an install of the newly extracted msi (admittedly on the same computer) I got exactly the same issue. Of note though is that running /qf automatically brought up the same serial number and the same incorrectly spelled company name. Installing on another computer (freshly imaged) doesn't have those inputs already present under /qf. Next when I try using the transfrom (a new one) with /qr it gives an error of the serial number, displaying the entire serial.

I've had a look through yours and it seems our issues could have the same origin. Looks like I may have to call customer support regarding the serial number as Sabian suggested in your thread.
The bit that gets me is when the same serial number is used in a manual install (or /qf) then it installs ok without any errors.

Plant transfer with margin with different profit centers

Dear Experts,
We have a scenario wherein we manufacture the product at plant 100 and sell through plant 200.
As per new requirement, above plant transfer should be done with the margin.
Example:
Plant 100, product Std price: 1000
At the time of transfer to plant 200, product price should be 1500.
Rs. 500 will be the fixed margin for the year. next year it may change.
Plant 100, Prodcut price: 1000, profit center 101
Plant 200, product price 1500, profit center 201
Please guide me hoe to set up above case

You can define a new condition type for the price at the second plant 200 (say ZP01 in the below screenshot) and maintain this condition type once in a year using MEK1. The condition class of this should be B - prices
Also, both plant 100 and 200 will need to have price control Standard at 1000 and 1500 respectively.
Now define a condition type(say Z000 in the screenshot below) and call it STO notional profit/margin ( I call this notional as you are gaining a profit from 'selling' to your own plant). This condition type should have condition class A -Discount/Surcharge
In the pricing procedure, assign subtotal E against condition type P101 (this standard condition type automatically picks Standard price in plant 100). Against ZP01, assign subtotal D.
Now against Z000 assign calculation type 12 (calculates ZP01 - P101). Against Z000, maintain an accrual key ZW1 (say) and assign this to an 'STO profit' G/L in OBYC.
Your postings in PGI should look as below in the 2nd screenshot. The profit centers in my case is the same, however, you can maintain different profit centers in Plant data 1 for the material in the 2 plants.

For what it is worth I have noticed a similar issue from the iPad3 while at work and home. At work we have two Apple TV 3rd Generation installed and tied to our A/V system. I believe the issue has to do with a timeout on the broadcast saying "here I am" and allowing devices to connect.
For example:
At work we have several Wi-Fi SSID being broadcast from Cisco APs. The only one we can use with the Apple TV is the one that uses a WEP since the others are either setup to be hidden, require web page authentication, or have a login requirement from employees. Essentially, what I believe the issue is that the Apple TV periodically broadcasts a message to other iOS devices that support Mirroring. When the Apple TV does not get a response from a device it goes into a dormant mode and requires either a command from the remote control or a reboot. This has been tested with both the power management enabled and not enabled with the same results.
As for when I come home, the Apple TV3 has not seen the device in some time and therefore is not broadcasting it's location information. A simple click of the circle or menu keys on the remote will give it the command to start broadcasting again and allow the iPad3 to see the Apple TV. When trying to Home Share the computer can not play (iTunes 11, Win8RTM) until the Apple TV is awoken then it will show up for mirroing.
This may or may not assist you but, it hopefully explains how the issue may be happening.

Issues with text on different OS

On the "credits" section of my site,

differently on OSX vs Windows. On OSX the text appears normally,
with the links located exactly where they are supposed to be. On
Windows XP and Ubuntu 2.22.3 (only systems I've been able to check

I try not to use Iphoto, although it does sometimes kick in before i can cancel it. Normally, i copy the records from the card to the Imac hard drive.
I'm assuming the CF card may have been formatted by a previous windows machine at some point. Is this likely to be an issue?

Log & Transfer issues with Canon HF200

I'm trying to import about 150 short videos from my canon HF200 camera. Although it doesn't have a firewire connection (it's through USB), it does record AVCHD. When I plug the camera in to my computer, it is recognized in the finder window. However, no options show up to allow me to import from the camera. And, when I open FCE, the camera is not registering in the FCE Log and Transfer window. The clips aren't even there. I have been reading forums all night and I'm at my wit's end.
I'm using Snow Leopard, FCE 4.0.1, and everything seems adequately updated. Please help me figure out what I'm going wrong!

1) Are you confident that your footage on your camera is in the HD format? Log and Transfer does not work with footage that is shot as Standard Definition.
2) Have you tried to navigate to the camera manually using the Add Volume Button on the upper right?
3) Have you tried removing the memory card and attempting to access it through a memory card reader?

Not able to start any outside contact with iChat : please help !

I will try to cut my long story short : I am from Belgium and presently in Kosovo for a several months mission over there. I was really looking forward to use Apple iChat to stay in contact with my family and kids back home .... but it's not working !
I know there are other solutions eventually but anyway I'd like to understand what's the problem with iChat.
I came first with my Powerbook G4 1,5 Ghz + 1,2 Gb RAM + IceCam + OS 10.4 and "old" iChat on it : not working at all : it would keep saying "not enough bandwidth" for every sort of connection attempts (video, audio only) only text chat was working. I had read that there were lots of problems with this version, so I purchased LEOPARD to have the newest version available and upgraded my internet connection here in Kosovo to a 8 Mbps one !
Unfortunately I crashed my computer with the upgrade process ... anyway, the "advantage" is that I start now from a "clean" copy of Leopard and iChat .... but it isn't working neither ?
Now the message is slightly different though.
You see it's "trying" to get through (takes a little more time to issue the error message ....?) and it states now "connection closed because didn't get any answer for 10 seconds" (I translate the message because my system is in french in fact).
I have copied the details of the error message but can you tell me which part is important, not to paste 3 pages of unuseful text to this post maybe ?
It would be very kind of you if you could help me figure this out because I cannot think of a reason why "we" shouldn't get this to work, right ?
Furthermore, it would help a poor Mac user to stay in touch with his family "back home" !

This is a "paste" of one of the error logs : they basically all say the same thing I guess.
If needed (following a suggestion for example) I could try to come in contact with the support helpline of the company (although it's Kosovo ....) to try to "fix" or answer any technical question you should have without any other mean for an answer than "ask" ....

How to allow user to select pdf file on local machine and populate field with file name only

Folks,
I have a project requirement that I am stumped on. I am admittedly a novice, so forgive questions that may seem obvious.
My requirement is a form running on a client system where the user can click a button and select a PDF file name from a PDF on their local machine and then populate a form field with that file path & filename. The file names vary between all machines, so there is no static list. Note that the PDF is not embedded, nothing is executed, I simply need the file name.
There are several of these on a form (20+), so manual name entry is too error prone. I would like to use a 'browse' type dialog, but can not figure out how to implement it.
I've looked at app.browseForFile, but the users can not install a javascript file in their adobe folder or any other files; the functionality has to be integral with the original PDF.
Functionally, this is no different from the image object file browse, except that I need a PDF instead of an image file, so there doesn't seem like there should be a security issue that is any different from those surrounding the image object.
I've been stumped on this for the entire week, and I have a deadline rapidly approaching, so any examples or suggestions (please remember I'm a novice) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply Paul - do you have any sample code of how to attach the PDF? Or how the user can select a PDF to open? I might be able to attach it, retrieve the file name, and then un-attach it.
Alternatively, do you know how to retrieve the file name from the imagePath object? It will let you select PDF files, but I can't find info on how to retrieve the file name. It should be the way you would retrieve the file name for an image.

Stock Transfer between Storage Location with Order

Dear MM experts,
I am into SAP SD.
Our client wants to Transfer Stock from one Storage Location to another Storage Location of the same Plant. (This can be easily done thru MB1B via Transfer Posting)
But the unique requirement here is they require some kind of Delivery Order or Tansfer Order to be created first & only based on that document user can transfer Stock between Storage Locations of a same Plant. (Similar to Inter-Plant Stock Transfer where we create Stock Transfer PO & then move goods between plants).
Can you please suggest on how to achieve the above scenario.

I am unable to do video chat using Gtalk either with ichat as well as Safari Browser any idea.

I am unable to do video chat using Gtalk either with ichat or Browser. i tryed to use Firefox with Viedo chat plugin but this also doesn't help. My Voice and Picture is going but i am unable to receive. I am using Mac OS X10.7 Lion.

IE uses an [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActiveX ActiveX] control to handle Flash objects. 
Firefox uses a different [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NPAPI NPAPI] plugin. 
 
Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.

Ichat file transfer issues

Hi, is anyone else experiencing as issue with iChat where if you send over a file like an mp3 it says unexpected error in the file transfer box after the recipient accepts the file? The process was working yesterday and has done this all day. Please someone help.

No chat with IChat?

Greetings fellow IChat users or should I say non users. I too have the same insufficient bandwidth message 95 percent of the time. Since May I have probably only achieved 10 successful chats. Not only have I invested approximately $3000 into new computers to help with the problem, I also pay $140 monthly to Starband Satellite, for what is supposed to be 256 upload speed (usually only tests 80-175 upload), solely to IChat with my grandchildren in Hawaaii. Starband has been no help at all at solving my problem, nor is the company who set the system up for me. Unfortunately I live in a extremely rural area and Starband is currently the only high speed internet provider available to me at this time. I am truly stumped as to my next move. I have followed the IChat discussions concerning this issue and tried, to the best of my ability, all suggestions. The modem/router Starband supplies is listed as their 484. The only name I can find on it is Gilat made by Satellite National LTD. It is listed as model #434xx and has the numbers 215153 written above the model number. I have not been able to find anyway to access their modem/router to open ports, but I do have my firewall set to off. They do not offer their support software for Mac users and their website help is a joke. I am extremely unhappy with Apple over what seems to be a universal problem as well as their lack of properly trained support staff. I have already spent another four hours just today reading through Ralph Johns iChat pages. How many hours must one spend to be able to use IChat, maybe I should send Apple a bill. Sorry to be such a whiner, but yesterday was my grandsons FIRST birthday and today is my granddaughters THIRD. I wanted to be there with them but couldn't and had hoped I could at least visit them on the webcam. No such luck. Any suggestions out there.

That does sound absolutely frustrating.
With Satelite based internet connections there can be a slight delay as the modem negotiates how much data is coming.
Now iChat is a large bandwidth user on that connection you have and some things you could try that might make it more successful.
The mian one is to choose something like iTunes and connection it to the Music store and listen to a sample or even watch a video preview to get you connection running at full tilt just before starting an Video chat.
The next is similar and involves using the web browser to go to Flash based websites or ones with Video content you can tap into.
It might be that the ISP can supply a different modem that reacts faster to the demands you place on it.

Difficulty Sending Images with iChat

When I try to send images in iChat, usually it just stalls and the person on the other end doesn't get the image and doesn't get any of the text that I type subsequently. Restarting iChat, not just logging out and logging back in, is the only way to resume text messaging. I can receive images and video without any problems.
Sometimes sending images actually works. That's how I know it isn't a firewall problem. When image sending stalls, I was also getting the error message "disconnected from the iChat agent" or something like that, but I've since tossed out the iChat preferences and now I don't get this error message any more. But sending images still doesn't work consistently.
I've also tested my internet connection to see if the upload speed was a problem or if there are line quality issues. But my network is in great shape.
I'm using 10.4.7 with iChat 3.1.5 and an Airport Express (firmware v6.3).
Any ideas?

What is your Quicktime Setting set to ?

Is this an actual Airport Express device or do you
mean that your Wireless card is at Express speeds ?

There is no modem on my network. I'm on an ethernet.
Have you opened port 5190 on the UDP protocol here ?
Sometimes the images do transfer, so it isn't a firewall problem. If closed ports were blocking the transmission, they would always do so, not just occasionally. Or is there something more complex going on that I'm not understanding?
