Local user password still needed to install updates

I've got machines connected to open directory and even when I'm logged into them as a Directory Admin when it comes to installing Software Updates or software I always get asked for a local admin username and password, the open directory admin usernames just get rejected.
Is there a way around this? I want my Directory Admin users to have full admin rights over the machines.

The Directory Administrators on the Open Directory Domain need to have a Primary Group ID of 80 to be able to do this, which can be changed in WGM under the group options. I am hoping 10.5 improves on this method, along with allowing the delegation of admin rights more granular in abilities.

You still don't give us the message you are receiving. My guess: you are trying to open a PDF in a browser that uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

Many thanks for your answer, i use windows 8.1! I have found the problems: For install the news version the install need the old installer (but i delete all installer, cause they use a lot place on hard drive (SSD)).
I have desinstall the whole Adobe and réinstalled it, i have save the whole installer on a external disk. So when the installer asked the old installer i indicate to programm my external disk ans all works good now.
Many thanks for you help, i have just do not to delete old file (sad to have to save old installler just for install the new).

Your video clips will import directly into iMovie. It's a great video editing program. I'll include some quick video tutorials to get you started below:

Why is my password still required for app updates on my iPhone with iOS6?

I've updated my iPhone 4S and my new iPad both to iOS6. Now when I try to install updates no password is required on the iPad, but my iPhone still pops up the password request window.
I've tried restarting the iPhone after the install but that didn't change anything. Is there a setting or anything else that I need to change on the phone in order to no longer need to enter my password every time I update apps?

I found this on another thread. I disabled restrictions on my iPhone and it no longer asked for my password. I have not tried re-enabling restrictions though to see if the problem reoccurs.

ACS Appliance - Local User Password Changing Options

I am configuring a pair of 1113 appliances running ACS 4.2. The client wants to only user local user accounts stored in the ACS database for AAA on devices and LMS and Ops Manager logins. There are configurable password aging settings for users and groups. The question that I have is how are the users notified that their passwords are expired and ow can they change them? The customer uses only ssh for device management. Is the UCP utility still a requirement if an appliance is used as opposed to a standard Windows ACS installation. I also came across this bug:

Symptom:
ACS currently does not support password expiry / password management feature for locally configured users.
Conditions:
users are configured locally on ACS as opposed to an external database such as active directory.
Workaround:
user external database / server where user profiles are setup.

ACS supports Password Aging for Device-hosted Sessions-Users must be in the CiscoSecure user database, the AAA client must be running TACACS+, and the connection must use Telnet. You can control the ability of users to change passwords during a device-hosted Telnet session.
You can also control whether Cisco Secure ACS propagates passwords changed by this
feature.
UCP is used in both appliance and window.

We are required to change passwords every so often at my job. I am trying to change the password for one of the local user accounts on a 5508 WLC running 7.0.98.218 - How can I accomplish this task? The option I get is to remove the users. Any help would be much appriciated.

I think ur speaking about LOCAL NET USERs list on the WLC..
I am able to change that on my WLC..
its .. WLC GUI >> SECURITY >> LOCAL NET USERS >> Client on the local user >> Edit it >> Apply.
Clisk on the name which is under USERNAME and u wil be able to edit it!!

Updated to CC 2014, still need CC installed?

In my control panel I have Adobe CC and Adobe CC 2014. Can I uninstall CC or do I have to leave it? I'm tight for space in my C drive and rather than buy a larger SSD/reinstall Win7... I can get by if I can uninstall CC and still use CC 2014.

You can uninstall Photoshop CC; it's not needed going forward if you can use Photoshop CC 2014 without problems and don't need the specific features that have been deprecated (e.g., Oil Paint, Flash Panel Support, etc.).
Note: Occasionally people find they need to uninstall and reinstall the latest version afterward to ensure all linkages to other programs (such as Lightroom) are re-established properly.

The password being requested is, as for any Mac OS X software update or application installation, the password to your user account in Mac OS X, or the user name and password to an account in Mac OS X that has administrator privileges if your account does not.

Why users need to change the password once I setup when they have been assigned by superuser?
If that is the case, then should I just assign any 4 digits then they put the real password when they log on or they can reuse the same password that I created. Only use 4 digits to avoid need to change it couple months.

Did you check the settings under
> Administration > Setup > General > Password Administration?
Here you can set different settings for example if it is possible to use the same passwrod as before, when it will expire and so on.

Use local admin account to reset local users password?

Everytime I logout or shut down my mac book pro running 10.7.4 I cannot login because the login "shakes" when I put in my password. The local account, userX, is also a mobile account on my home Lion Server network. Even why I try to go through the process of resetting my password using my appleid, the new password doesn't allow userX to logon to the machine, let alone the home network.

Click the lock and authenticate as an administrator account.
Click Login Options....

Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
Choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu.

Hi. Having an issue. Firefox is telling all my users that it needs to be updated due to security conerns. If I can't find a solution I'm going to remove firefox

Upon launch firefox is telling my roughly 300 users they need to update their version of firefox due to security concerns (even when auto update is turned OFF). This is causing many issues, users are upgrading their versions on their own and causing related applications to stop functioning, causes panic when they think their machine is at risk, and in general its drastically increasing the number of questions to my IT team. If this doesn't quit we will be forced to remove firefox from all of our users's machines. Please help.

You have 300 users on Firefox 3.6.28?
The truth is, the machines are at risk. However, you're only one or two rounds of updates behind, so you certainly could make a judgment that while you are testing your next version of Firefox it's reasonable to wait. Are you familiar with the [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ Firefox Extended Support Release] program?
But back to your question. I have seen in other threads that people have gone through the update-related preferences in about:config and found a way to disable to reminder. There wasn't enough specific information to know which preferences were relevant. If you find one, you can distribute the changed preferences using a user.js file.
