Locating Currency Type in SAP

Hi All,
I'm from BW background. We are pulling some Maintainence Orders data based on Currency Type (ex-10, 20 which are Company code and Controlling currency type). Where in SAP can I see thisCurrency type. I have the Accounting Document numbers. Please help.
Thanks,
Vivek

Currency Types are usually located at the time of configuring Additional Local Currencies i.e., Parallel Currencies through T.Code OB22. The following currency types are available in SAP
a. Group Currency - this will enable for cross company code postings in a controlling area - this defined at client level
b. Hard Currency - this is used for valuating the currency and used in countries of high inflation
c. Index based Currency - this is with reference to the country where a certain index basis is used and also applicable
countries of high inflation are there
d. Global Curriency - This is used for Legal Consolidation.
For any company code, apart from company code currency which is defined at the time of creation of company code, we can have two parallel currencies or additional local currencies.

  • Is it possible to set  Local Currency - INR in SAP B1 8.81

    Hi,
In SAP B1 Version  8.81 , i have taken Type -Chart of Accounts - as Global
and  Localization - United Kingdom  And just tell me is it possible to set
Local Currency - INR in SAP B1 8.81

    Hi,
You can set any currency till the time there is no transactions in the database.
Please do remember that the on selection of the Localization UK, the legal aspects and the tax law pertaining to the UK will be applicable and also you have to check for the exchange rate calculation based on settings (direct/indirect).
Also, taking INR as LC will lead to INR being the main currency and hence the reports generation and reconciliation of all the Multi-Currency will be performed in the Lead Currency.
    All the Best.

  • Currency type

    Hi all......
Can some one tell me how to display a field of currency type which is stored in sap transparent table as amount(type:DEC). for eg., in sap table it is stored as 12345.000 but i need to display it as 123.45, because this 123.45 is compared with another field coming from a third party system, which gives the value 123.45

    Hi Ghousia,
You cannot use split statement for a Packed decimal value.
You just have to define a temporary variable of type p decimals 2 and assign the value to it and display the same.
    Thats it.
If you carry on working with the split statement, it might give errors in the future.

  • Currency in standard SAP Reports

    Hi Experts,
Where can I find the currency translation settings for standard SAP reports (From Database currency to List Currency)? While I am executing one of the reports, I am finding that the system is translating the currency and displaying the output.
Where can I find these settings?

    Varun

    Hello Varun R
Some  Reports such as S_ALR_87013019 are based on reporting table "RWCOOM".
The special design of this reporting table is that it does not use the "report currency"
    to from reporting table "CCSS".
As a consequence this "report currency" cannot be used in reports using RWCOOM.
If you check the report definition of report S_ALR_87013019 or toher S_ALR*
in transaction GRR3 (library 6O2, report 6OBU-001)  you see that the characteristic
"currency type" with value "20" is used in the general data selection.
This leads to the behaviour of the system always to display the values in controlling area currency.
Even if you set RPO0 to a different currency this has no influence as the report definition in this case is "hard coded".
In order now to have the values displayed in another currency (such as object currency) please copy this report into customer space and change the general data selection on characteristic "currency type" from "20" to "10".
Afterwards you should be able to display the values in object currency.#
    I hope this helps

  • Material ledger currency types-manually

    Hi,
I have a question about material ledger  currency types.
Does it cause any problem if i have set the currency types manually as different then additional local currencies for company code in FI? I have to set the  currencies manually. Does it have some disadvanteges? Because when i try to do this in configuration system gives a warning:
"Do not make any changes (SAP entry)
    Message no. SV117
    Diagnosis
You have changed an entry which, according to the name space definition is managed by SAP.
    System Response
Your changes may be overwritten at each subsequent upgrade or release change.
    Procedure
Avoid changing this data. If the change is inavoidable, document it carefully, so that it can be repeated, if necessary, after an upgrade or release change. The best way to do this is to put the data in a change request, which you can export before an upgrade or release change, and import again afterwards."
    I need your helps.

    Thanks for all.
we have solved this issue  after change some customization according sap support consultant reply as under.
you have 3 different issues within your SD- new g/L interface.
The most critical one is the fact that you substitute PRCTR and
Segment assignemnts into line items to be processed by rule based
split. This leads to the fact that you will only those cases will be
able to post document in case the assignemnts are unique,
which means no different kind of prctr, segment and business area
assignments but only one single kind. This makes no sence at all.
Please see my last reply regarding this most critical issue.
This needs to be solved from Consulting point of view.
    Regards.

  • Profit Center Local Currency (Currency Type 90)

We are in the middle of implementation of SAP and our curreny setting is as the following:
    Group Currency: USD
Controlling Area Currency: Currency Type 30 (USD)
FYI we are also implementing multiple valuation as the following (T-Code 8KEM):
    Currency Type    Valuation
    10                     Legal
    30                     Group
    10                     Profit Center
Now we set up Profit Center local Currency as Curreny Type 90 (Profit Center invoice currency) in IDR since we want to have different currency then our Group and Controlling Area currency (USD).
However I am just worried that this will cause inconsistency in Profit Center especially between FI and CO.
Anybody has experience whether it is safe to use curreny type 90 as Profit Center local Currency?

    Hi Ernst,
Did you ever get a solution for your query. I am facing a similar situation.
In my case the company code currency is USD and controlling area currency is also USD. I am not sure if I should leave the currency field blank in the PCA controlling area settings or populate it with 30 or 90? 90 to me means I am recording PCA currency again as USD when the system anyways records the transactions in both the transaction and local currency. 30 makes sense to me where I can choose the group currency EUR but then the currency setting of PCA is inconsistent with that of the controlling area.
Would appreciate if you can advice on the matter.
    Happy New Year

    Hi Amit,
To check whether the location is present in TM (And I am referring to TM 8.0), open NWBC (either using t-code NWBC or launching your locally installed version).  Select Master Data - Transportation Network - Define Location.  Enter the values from the error message into the Location and Location Type fields and hit display.  If it is not there, you will need to CIF it over from your ECC system (or you could create it in TM, but recommend CIF).  The t-codes to CIF it over are CFM1 and CFM2.

  • Two COA currency type 20 (SEK) and 30 (CHF)in same client

    Hi
Anyone who can help me out wit this.
Today we have one controlling area COA with currency type 20 and Currency SEK, SEK is also currency on the Client
Now I want to create a new controlling area with CHF as currency. (Implementing new companies)
If I create the controlling area with currency type 20,the controlling area currency need to be the same as client currency (SEK)
So I was thinking of if I could use currency type 30 instead. And then create the COA in CHF
We want to have this two controlling area in the same COPA.
    Now to my question:
Will it be a problem in the future with one COA currenctype 20 and the other COA in 30
    In the same Client?
    In the same COPA?
If yes, any ideas how to solve the problem ( I donu2019t want to migrate the old COA to CHF)
Hope anyone can help me out with this 
    Best regards
    Afanda

    Hi,
First let me clarify two things to you...
If you select the currency type 20, u have the option to choose your controlling area currency... it need not be your client(sap client)currency...
If you select the currency type 30, system by default takes the client currency as group currency...
    Now coming to your question,
you will not have any issue if you have different currency types to different controlling areas....
As far as the operating concern currency is concerned, u can freely define the operating area currency... so no issues even if you assign two different controlling areas with different controlling area currencies....
Hope u r ideas will become clearer now.

  • Currency type  in BW

    Hi
What is 0CURTYPE Currency type  in BW
How that info can be interpreted in BW

    Hi,
Mapping the Currency Type and Currency Key
In contrast to R/3, the values of the individual posting periods and currency types (transaction currency, object currency, and controlling area currency) are extracted to SAP BW in individual data records rather than as a single block. The currency type (0CURTYPE) then indicates the fields of the R/3 totals records from which the values were read.
    Currency Type
    Description
    Fields in R/3 Totals Record
    00
    Transaction currency
    WTG*
    10
Currency of company code (object currency)
    WOG*
    20
    Controlling area currency
    WKG*
    70
    Object currency
    WOG*
Extraction therefore results in a maximum multiplication of the selected R/3 totals records by a factor of 48 = 3 * 16 = number of currency types * number of periods (12 + 4 special periods). Zero values (both the cost amount and the quantity are zero) are not transferred.
The quantities are transferred with each currency type. When defining queries, you must therefore also specify a restriction for quantity columns on a currency type. The simplest is to add the currency type as a filter parameter for the entire query.
Restricting the currency type to the values required in BW significantly improves performance during extraction.
Costs in object currency are transferred with currency type 10 as a default, regardless of whether selection in the InfoPackage is on currency type 70 or 10. If necessary, this default setting can be changed from 10 to 70 in the control table BWOM_SETTINGS (parameter OBJCURTYPE).
The currency key 0CURRENCY is determined based on the currency type:
    Currency Type
    Determination of Currency Key
    00
Taken directly from the data record read (COSP-TWAER, COSS-TWAER etc.)
    10
Determined from the object number of the record from the master data.
    20
The controlling area is determined from the object number of the record read. The currency of the controlling area is then determined.
    70
    See currency type 10
