Locating downloaded TV Shows on my Hard Disk--full start up disk

I received a full startup disk message--I went into my hard disk to get rid of tv shows I've been downloading--only to be totally amazed by all the unknown files. I have no idea what to get rid of. I've been searching for 2 days for the tv shows and I have a dead end. Can someone please assist me. Why are the files hidden? Why is this so difficult?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Whatever program you are using to download the shows probably has a setting to download the files to a specific location. Mind you, you can use this article to find out what is filling your hard disk and where those files are:

how can i download movies from my portable hard disk or usb to my Ipad2 ?

Import them into iTunes, then sync to your iPad. Movies may need to be converted to an iTunes compatible format. There are any number of utilities for that such as HandBrake 0.9.5.
Please get the iPad iOS 4 user guide.

  • Windows server 2008 R2 is not showing the second hard disk.

    Hi,
We are having two windows server 2008 R2. In that we have, two hard disk and each with 146GB storage capacity. But it is displaying only the storage capacity of a single hard disk. Seems like the second hard disk in not recognized.
What can be done to clear this?
    Regards

    Hi,
As Burak mentioned, first you need to check if it displayed in Disk Management.
If so, see if you can initial it, create a volume and assign a drive letter.
If not, check if it is recognized in BIOS. Also test if it could be recognized in another computer.

  • Time Machine doesn't show my second hard disk

I recently updated my G4 from Tiger to OSX 10.5 Leopard. My G4 has two internal hard disks, one (Mac HD) containing the system & most documents, the other (Music & Pics) containing my iPhoto & iTunes libraries. I thought I had set TM to backup both disks as after I got it running I checked the backups and am sure I saw the icons of both Mac HD and Music & Pics in the TM "Star Wars" window.
Now I have just had a failure of the Music & Pics disk and am trying to recover the iPhoto & iTunes libraries to Mac HD. However when I look at all the TM backups, there is no sign of Music & Pics!
Is this because TM can't see the Music & Pics drive any more, so assumes I only want to see the files backed up from Mac HD? Do I need to install a new drive and name it Music & Pics to see the backups, or is there another way?

Are you trying to do this by booting from your Leopard Install disk and doing a full system restore? If so, that procedure only restores OSX drives. Use the normal "Star Wars" display to restore a data-only drive.
Since the failed drive is no longer connected, see #E3 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.

  • How to Download the development class into Hard disk

    Hi Experts,
i have same problem in package, i want save these objects like data dictionary objects, programs, includes, messages class, class library and etc...
    save into local disk.
pls give the step by step process
    thanks for advance,
    venu m

    Hi venu,
    <b>Download Program from a Development Class:</b>
First check in tadir that the given package is valid
SELECT SINGLE devclass FROM tadir INTO ws_devclass WHERE devclass = p_devcls.
Select all the records from TADIR table where OBJECT = 'FUGR' and PGMID = 'R3TR '.
In this way u can get all the FUnction group for that package.
For getting the function module under the function module use the FM RS_FUNCTION_POOL_CONTENTS to get all the function module under the Function group.
Usign the table tfdir get the program name of the Function module.
Using the FM 'GET_INCLUDETAB' get all the includes
    for that PRogram name.
Loop at the internal table which you got from the function module.
Use the READ REPORT prog INTO itab.
Download the contents to the place where you want.

  • Pavilion dv6-1125es - Hard Disk problem

I have an HP Pavilion dv6-1125es (out of warranty) with Vista Home Premium (32 bit) that runs very slowly and freezes but this does not seem to be caused by malware. I was considering reinstalling but decided to run diagnostics first. In the System Diagnostics (Setup), the Start-up Test (F2) finds no problem in the Memory Test, Hard Disk Quick Test or Hard Disk SMART Test.
In the System Diagnostics Hard Disk Test (F4), the Quick Test indicates Passed (100%) but the Full Test shows:
    - 00% Complete
-‘Replace Hard Disk1’(in red) followed by ‘testing’ (in white)
    The SMART check indicates Passed
On pressing Esc to continue, the next screen shows (in blue)
    - “Hard Disk Test” Failed
    - “Hard Disk 1 FULL” (305)
The Diagnostic Log shows Result: 0305
I would be grateful for help with the following points:
    1) Is the ‘0305’ error unfixable? Does it mean replacing the hard disk?
    2) The current disk is 320 Gb. What is capacity limit for this model dv6-1125es?
    3) If I install Windows 7 on the new disk, can the 64 bit version be used on this model?
    4) As this laptop has also been running hot, I would like to try to clean the fan and ventilation system. Where can I find instructions on this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    To answer your questions.
    1.  The 305 error does mean you will need to replace the Hard Drive.
    2.  You can certainly go up to a 500Gb HDD without any problems - see the procedure starting on Page 69 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
    3.  Yes, your processor is 64bit capable - see Here for confirmation of this.
    4.  There are instructions for cleaning your notebooks air vents Here.

The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Hard disk crashed, restored data from tape backup, Firefox not showing bookmarks. What is the location of bookmarks & favourites to ensure I have restored the correct file?

Hard disk crashed (XP), restored files from tape backup using Retrospect onto new Windows 7 laptop. Started up Mozilla after restore but bookmarks and favourites are missing.
I still have access to the backup tape and files. I was wondering whether the bookmarks are kept anywhere special other than the Mozilla program file that I restored.

Well it does detect the camera, under USB in the System Profiler it says "FaceTime-HD-camera (built-in)". But the image distortion.
Since you can't see the image, here's a description: it shows horizontal lines all over the place in the image, and the lines are quite tall and they contain part of the image but moved horizontally to the left or right, and in a different color as well. So for example you could see part of my face but there is a horizontal bar where my eyes are located in, and it is moved to the left so that my eyes are at the left of my face. I hope that made some sense...
Will try to get to an Apple store next week.
