Locating exact model information

I'm trying to determine exactly which Toshiba Satellite A10 I have. The label on the underside of my laptop only says "A10" no other model appellation such as "-100" etc.
Where would I look to locate this? I do not have any paperwork, as this laptop was given to me third or fourth-hand, all I have is the unit itself. I would like to look up the specifications, to determine if I can upgrade the RAM, etc, but need to know the exact model, to find the right spec sheets on the main web site.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

You should be able to use most of the drivers and utilities for any machine in the PSA10U part-number family.
One of them is the Satellite A15-S127, whose downloads are here.
Good luck!

I think the best you can do is use the System Information application (Utilities Folder), looking in the wireless section.

  • Identifying exact model of MOBO 865PE Neo2

I am trying to identify the exact model of my son's computer's mobo.
On the board it has MS-6728 Ver. 1
There seems to be a differenct between the 865pe neo2 and a 865 neo2 platinum.
More confusion when I try to determine Current Bios.
    On screen at boot : A6728IMS  v1.9 110603
When actually in the setup bios screens says ver3.19
When looking online, the bios for the above mentioned platinum is listed as ver3.19 with the same date stamp.
Where can I find if pcbv1 or pcbv2
Sorry if this is a newbie question. I REALLY have tried to locate this info on the MSI site.

Still can't get a clue why it freezes out. Is your system ... OEM?
Think I descovered the problem. My processor is evidently a "prescott". Found in another forum. Installing winxp sp2 on a machine with a prescott chip may lead to the startup failure if the bios on the motherboard has not been updated to a version that supports an updated microcode on the prescott. The temporary solution is to turn off level 1 and 2 cache. When I did that the machine actually started loading windows. (terribly slowly I might add) Hopefully when I get the operating system going, I can flash the bios to 2.5. Then turn the cache back on. If not, I'll have to replace the mobo or processor. Can't live with this SLOW system.

  • What is the exact model number of a Mac Mini-mid 2011 Server?

My Mac Mini Server apple tells me is a Mid-2011. I saw somewhere the Mac Mini models have "5"  as the starting number in a 3 or 4 digit model number. Why is apple unable to give an exact model # of this "Mid-2011" model. Appreciate somebody to give an answer to this seeming "mystery". Thank you.

    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_mini/specs/mac-mini-core-i7-2.0-mid-20 11-server-specs.html
Unclear on whether you are asking about the model identifier (Macmini5,3) or the Apple part number (MC936LL/A).
The model identifier can be found in "System Information". The Apple part number can be found on the serial number plate attached to the chassis.

  • [iPhone] how to detect the exact model

    Hi,
is there a way to detect what model is running the app?
[[UiDevice currentDevice] model] only returns 'iPhone' or 'iPod'... and not 'iPhone 3G' or 'iPod Touch'/'iPod Touch 2nd generation'.
Whereas a different model information appears in settings>general>informations>model
    where iPhone = MA712LL, iPod Touch= MA623ZB, iPhone 3G = MB496NF, iPod Touch 2nd gen = MB528LL...
Is there a way to retrieve this information by code?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Determining Organizational Model information for a BP

I am currently working on a report development where there is a requirement to show both Territory and Organizational Model information.
For Territories, it's a simple matter of using the available function modules to determine a Sales Person and their area for a particular customer post-code. Finding similar information for a Service Engineer maintained in the Organizational Model is proving very difficult.
Is anyone aware of any functional modules i could use to determine this information using just BP information (i.e. post code, partner number, etc)??
I understand that i would have to determine the Sales Area information before being able to fetch the Service Org, Team, Territory etc information. Having searched for function modules within CRM and on multiple forums, i haven't found a way of doing this.
This is the first time i've worked on Organizational models so any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Indi,
I dont know about what kind of data you require, but i think this FM would be useful
    CMS_BUPA_ORGDATA_GET_BL.
Also for details of an org can be obtained for a CRM_ORGMAN* any of the FM.

  • Parent model information in Outbound EDI 856

    Hi Gurus,
We have a requirement to have top model information in outbound EDI 856 file for PTO/ATO/Kit items. The Parent model is not shippable and hence, not present in delivery details.
Can you please help/guide me in finding a field/record in relation with parent model information in EDI 856?
    Regards,
    G V Ranjith

    Hi Dipanjan,
In case of ATO items we would be having the configuration item in delivery details. The expectation from business is to show the model ordered.
Also, in case of PTO or Kit items we do not have the configure item. We only have the componenets in delivery details.
Based on the file defintion provided by Oracle at [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/A60725_05/html/comnls/us/ec/tbldsno.htm#tbl_dnso] I coul dnot find any feild that shows top model info.
Can you please, let m know of any workaround or customization options?

    Reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
It's clear that the battery has got enough capacity to work correctly, so something happens with the MagSafe port or its charger. If you have another charger, try it, and if not, take the MacBook and the charger to an Apple Store or reseller. It's better to do this as we don't know if the problem is in the charger or in the MacBook Pro

  • I want to sell my MacBook Pro-How do I find the exact model number?

    It's late 2011 i7 15 inch and the specs I pull up show 2.4GHz MacBook Pro (MD322LL/A)
Except that i'ts when I click About this Mac it shows:
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Serial Number  C0**********W47
    Software  OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
    It also gives this info:
    Processor and memory
2.2GHz or 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 6MB shared L3 cache; or optional 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 8MB shared L3 cache and I know it's this and 750 GB SATA Disk
    4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1333MHz DDR3 memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB
Basically, I'm wanting to sell it because I just don't need such an expensive Mac and I hardly ever use it. I bought it new in September 2012 and it's in mint condition. Since it was a model year behind, I only paid $1899.
I have the box but I'm out of town so I was just hoping to figure out what I want to do. I still have the original receipt, it has Office University (or whatever it's called) and a Magic Mouse.
Any ideas of where/how I should sell it? I usually use Craig's list but I don't think that's a great idea for this item. Also, how much do you Apple experts think I should ask? I'm addicted to my iPad 2 but it's on iOS 5 still because it's, well, you know...I like to configure my displays and icons and be able to free memory, etc. so I mainly use it. Thanks for any help! Much appreciated!

    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

    Carrie,
the information that is provided by About This Mac is accurate. What you have is a CTO (“Configure To Order”) variant of the MD322LL/A; thus, referring to it simply as a “MD322LL/A” does not uniquely identify it. I would recommend describing it as a “2.5 GHz 15-inch Late 2011 MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and 750 GB HDD”, so that the buyer knows exactly what you’re offering. Make sure that the box, the other original accessories that came in the box, and the original receipt are included with the MacBook Pro; picky buyers (like me ) appreciate receiving all of those constituent components.
Note, however, that according to the Mavericks software license agreement, that because its installed version of Mavericks was originally downloaded from the Mac App Store, its copy of Mavericks is non-transferable; you will need to erase Mavericks and its recovery partition from the MacBook Pro’s internal disk before selling it. It would save the buyer some time if you would also perform an OS X Internet Recovery to restore its original Lion onto its internal disk before the sale.
To get an idea of what you should ask for it, take a look at online auction sites to see what other 15-inch Late 2011 MacBook Pros are selling for. You are likely to find more 2.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz models than 2.5 GHz models like yours, so you could add a premium of some amount to whatever the more common models are going for. If you live in an urban area, Craigslist could be used to sell it, as long as you and the buyer can agree on acceptable payment terms; finding a willing buyer might be more difficult if you live in a rural area.
