Locating where to load wifi password
I am in a guest house where the wifi password is changed on the first of every month. My iphone and iPad find the network ID but I cannot find where to change the password.
I am sure it is simple, but so too am I.
Thank you.
Thanks, but not asked for a password and receive the "unable to join" box. I reset, incidientally. Didn't help. Still need to find a box to load the new password. It was just as messy on my laptop but that is solved. Sadly, not with the iPhone or iPad.
Cheers

Where do the WiFi passwords go?
When I enter a WiFi with my iPhone, I enter a password and it works, but the password disappears.
There is no keychain app in the iPhone, right?
So when I want to tell you the WiFi password, can I read it anywhere on my iPhone?
Or has it just disappeared somewhere down there...?jakobsfilm wrote:

No. The password is stored, but not accessible. -
I have wi-fi in my home and it has always worked fine with my iPad. Then I went to Ireland and used the iPad there. Since I have been home, it won't work in my house. I can't get my wi-fi connecton. I took it to anothe location where I have logged in in the past, and it worked perfectly. Any ideas as to why I can't get a connection at home?
Thank you. Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I FORGOT MY IPAD4(wifi) password and it got disabled now how can i recover it?? By the way the wifi is of and the location services and find my ipad are enabled now what can i do to recover it???? PLZ HELP!!!
Entering your Wifi password will not - unless I'm missing something completely - disable your iPad. The only thing which will disable your iPad that I'm aware of is entering your passcode for iPad incorrectly multiple times.
If this is the case then please see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If you have forgotten your password for your router the WPA or WPA2 key as it's also known as they you will need to log in to your Router and setup a new WPA(2) key.

TS1398 my Iphone 4 S will not accept Wifi Passwords - for some Wifi locations
@ some locations my Iphone 4 S would not accept the Wifi Password , gives me a error " incorrect Password " - any suggestiions ? It connects with my Home linksys moderm .
Only the wireless carrier to which the iPhone is locked can
unlock it. If the iPhone is locked to Orange, you have to
work with Orange to get it unlocked. Perhaps someone
more familiar with UK wireless providers will jump in as
to the 30 day period, but generally the wireless provider
sets the unlock requirements. It sounds like Orange is trying
to discourage unlocking or at least make it inconvenient. -
Is there anyway to locate where my Ipod is?
My Ipod touch was stolen. Is there anyway to locate where it is?
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

My iPad Mini keeps saying "incorrect wifi password"
So just recently my ipad had dissconnected itself from our internet, i had attempted to re enter our regular wifi password which is about thirty numbers long, and it said incorrect, i figured sicne it was so long i mistyped something. so i typed it in another 10 or so times, no change. i later called apple which got me no where because appearently you now have to pay for phone sevices which is absouloutly ludacris. And seeing as our closest apple stores are in Detroit, or London, my parents cant just go take me whenever.
So anyways, i have googled every possible thing i can, and i still havent found any troublshooting things that work. Soft resets, and resseting network settings didnt help either. We thought it may have been our router, but yesterday i hd gotten a new phone which had no problems at all connecting to our internet, as well as my sister who had forgotten and reconected to our internet with out a problem too, i have tried updating to the latest ios but my itunes wont let me do it through the computer, and seeing as i have no wifi on my ipad i cant do it that way either.
So now im trying all i can to try and get it to update. I dont really want to restore because if i do and it doesnt fix anything, im stuck with an ipad that is basically usless because i cant download apps without wifi. And i have tried the whole turning on and off your router sequence many times and it hasnt worked.
So is there any way that i can fix this without restoring or going to apple? Restoring is my last resort.Even though other devices can connect, it may still be worth resetting the router. Does it connect to other Wi-Fi networks?
If that doesn't work, you've done all the basic troubleshooting, so it's time for a restore.
If that doesn't work, you may have a hardware issue. -
I am unable to locate where to change the phone number that is associated with my itunes account. I have a new number and the old number is no longer accessible by me. I've logged into my iTunes acct and it seems I can only change my appleID itself, my billing address info, and password and things like that. I cannot find where to remove a number and add a new one. I've gone to my mobile devices (iphone, ipad) as well as my mac and I'm getting a bit frustrated with it. I'm sure there's a simple solution and I'm just missing it. Going to settings>messages>send&receive....there is the old number and no option to make a correction. I've unchecked it but why can't I add the new number? On my iphone the ONLY option that shows up is my current number but when I set up my new ipad I have the issue described here. I want this number completely removed from my account there has to be a way to get it out of the system.
Also when going to settings>facetime>you can be reached at: shows email addresses as well as the OLD phone number with no option to make the correction, remove the incorrect number, or add a new number. I figured this was tied in to my appleID since thats when it showed up (right when I signed in on my ipad). So I went to itunes on my mac and went to my account and there I find AppleID Summary, itunes in the cloud, purchase history, and settings. I've gone through each of those and am still unable to figure out where to change it. Somebody PLEASE tell me where to find this data so I can change it. I've seen multiple inquiries about this all over the internet but everyone's solution is to do exactly what I've already done. No resolution to the real issue.Apple will have it, but if there is ever a question/problem, the store that you made the exchange at will have it on record.
But if you're worried about it call 800-APL-CARE and see if they have it. -
My computer (Macbook) was working fine this am. I left it for an hour and then came back and the screen was black (always does that as the screensaver hardly ever works). I moved the mouse to wake it up and everything was normal. I went to adjust the volume and the screen went blank and the main page with the box where I put my password in when I first start my comp appeared. I put my password in and everything was normal again. I opened a window in Safari and before it loaded completely the same thing happened, the screen went blank and went back to the password box. Does anyone know why this is happening? I don't have an external hard drive or any blank flash drives so I can't back anything up right now and am afraid I'm going to lose everything. Thank you
Sounds like hardware failure, called boot loop. Call Apple and or go on apple.com and make Genius Bar appointment to have your iphone reviewed by a Tech. Provided you iphone shows no physical or liquid damage they will take care of you, or if you have Apple Care Plus

IPHONE 4 DOESN'T ACCEPT WIFI PASSWORDS ANYMORE - PLEASE HELP!
Hi all,
My iPhone 4 out of blue decided not to accept the wifi password- it says "wrong password for xxx network" - it's my home one it always worked-
I was away and worked fine for a week in others houses (where the password was stored already) went to other house, tried to connect with passwprd and started saying the pw was wrong - got home last night and didn't connect right away as usual(maybe because I've reset the network when away) so I've put the pw in and again says it's wrong - Of course the password is correct - laptop works fine and iPod touch as well - At work there is a non protected wifi and it connects fine - So looks like the iPhone doesn't accept passwprds for the wifi
I've tryed to reset the network few times, reboot it few times, reset all settings and update the sofware (version 5.0.1) - nothing worked - aw also unpluged and re-pluged the router at home (knowiing wouldn't' help)
PLEASE help, very frustrating - I've seen few people had the same issue but nothing worked.
ThanksYou're welcome.
Incorrect. The passcode lock is not included with the backup. The restrictions passcode is, but not the passcode lock. If it were included with the backup, you would need to restore as a new device or not from the backup. Either way, you must restore with iTunes which is the only way around a forgotten passcode. -
Where is the WiFi scanner in Yosemite?
Where has the WiFi scan option in Wireless diagnostics gone in Yosemite?
The Wireless Diagnostics says my Wifi is OK but my airplay is doing a Norman Collier. What I would previously do on 10.9 is use WiFI Scan to check on the local Wireless networks to see which neighbours ones were close on channel number and signal strength and then check my wireless router channel as it always seems to default to ch 6, not always the best channel. A shift in channel would fix the issue, and WiFi Scan saved loads of time.
I know Apple love to play hide and seek with their most useful utilities and it looks as if it's gone all MS and hidden the items and started making decisions for you. In 10.8 it was obvious in 10.9 it was moved to a menu key in 10.10 I can see anything.
Can someone direct me as the tool saved lots of time!
thanks in advanceHere is useful info which helped me :

JustAnswer has asked me to answer your question -- "Apple TV: how to reset WiFi password. I do not recall the original PW am hitting a brickwall and I am ready to jump off! Please advise- many thanks
1)Your going to have to go to the manufacture's website for the orginal password. Once you have that you will have to setup you network again.
2)After your network is setup again you will go to general setting menu on the ATV. Select the Network option then Configure Wifi option. It will take a momment and load all the WIFI networks in you area. Once you selected your network, it will prompt you to enter the password. -
I Can't add the new wifi password after moving home because my keyboard needs Internet to set up. any ideas? iMac is x 10.9.5
thanksNo there is not an on-screen keyboard.
Why don't you use your keyboard to input the Wi-Fi password?
If your keyboard is an Apple wireless keyboard, then it is a Bluetooth keyboard. In the event the keyboard will not connect to your computer (you type and nothing happens!!) then simply follow these directions: Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues - Apple Support
Once you have the keyboard connected and working then simply input the Wi-Fi password and you are done.
If you still have trouble then I strongly suggest you contact AppleCare and they can help you through the problem. If you don't know the phone number then please click https://locate.apple.com/country to get started. -
Hi, my phone was stolen a few days ago and just a few days ago the phone was online and it automatically locked itself since I've put it under lost mode and the thief probably switched off the phone immediately so that I cant locate it. Is it possible for me to have the last known location where he/she turned on the phone so that I can track it down from the last location? Thank you
Correct.
The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored. -
Hello there, am new here and very stressed, i have an Imac core i3 which is logging off itself after a few seconds of login, it goes back to the login menu where i put the password. I have tried to repair the os but my pioneer rom is not reading the disk. I press the :c" button on startup but its not picking up the disk in the rom, i have tried to put the disk in an external rom but same answer, am starting to think that my os disk is bad. Please help me.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
