Location and building in Training and Event Management

Hello Dear Friends,
I Have a maybe very simple but confusing question.
I can not distinguish between "Location" and "Building" in Training and Event Management.Does Location contain buldings?
what is the relation between these two? and where do they join and link to each other? please give me an example.

HI,
Location means name of the city/town where the training is conducted,
Building means, in one city there may be more then one training institute/different building.
for an Ex.
Location - Delhi.
Building-    Where the training is actually conducted. Like building 1 and building 2.

  • Extraction and loading of Training and Event Management data (0HR_PE_1)

    hello,
    I've got the following doubt:
    before BI 7.0 release, extractor 0HR_PE_1 extracts event data (eventid, attendee id, calday,...) but if you load straight to cube 0PE_C01, as Calendar year/month needs a reference date (for example, event start date), you'll get total duration of event in hours or days refered to event star date.
    So in a query filtered by month, you get total duration of an event that starts in the filtered month but it couldn`t end until few months later o year later, so you don´t get appropiate information.
    Example:
    Event          calday        Hours
    10004377  20081120   500        but from event_attr event end date is 20090410.
    In a query filtered by 200811 you get total duration time (500 hours when in 200811 event hours have been 20) or if you filter by any month of 2009 you don´t get information of duration of that event.
    I had to create a copy of standar cube (without calday, only Calendar year/month, Calendar year in time dimension) and disaggrate data creating as many entries for an event as months lasts and adjust calculation of ratios duration of event (duration of event in each month/ total duration of event).
    The question is: Is there any improvement or change on business content in BI 7.0 to treat Training and Event Management data? Has anybody had to deal with that?

    TEM data is stored in HRP tables.
    You can load the catalog by creating LSMWs for objects Business event group (L), Business event types (D), Locations (F), Organizers (U) as per requirement.
    LSMW for tcode PP01 can be used to create these objects.
    To create Business Events (E) you can create LSMW for PV10/PV11.
    To book attendee create LSMW for tcode PV08 as here you can specify the actual business event ID which reduces ambiguity.
    tcode PV12 to firmly book events
    tcode PV15 to follow up

    I wish to track actual cost per event in PE (TEM - Training and Event Management).  Was considering having a Internal order per Instance of event. Have any Idea on how to set up something like this?

    Hi Dean,
    using internal orders you have to consider that sending and receiving cost center have to in the same company code.
    If you do not want to distribute the costs to FI/CO but only report them, you can use the cost items provided by TEM. We have set up something similar for our plants in South Europe.
    We have created some cost items and fill them manually with the training costs. Additionally we have created a report that evaluated this costs and combines them with the employee costs (derived from salary).

    Hi gurus,
    my cliient wants to implement training n event mgnmt and pd.client is not specific about the procedures of training and development. he wants to implement as per the best practices of sap. i was only into om , pa and payroll.
    i dont even  have a tinge of idea abt these submodules. i tried searching in forums and other sites to to my dissapointmnt. i am in a big soup now as i need to gather the requirement and do the configurations in a weeks time i.e by next weekend. plzzzzzz help me out with some best practices or some config docs as i dont know even the basics of these. I would appreciate if some body is helping me out with config docs.

  • Training nd Event Management Question

    I have an event scheduled in the past period in T&E Management.
    I am still able to book attandees to this event .. I think this is not right.
    However, I would like to know if there is any follow up action I need to do on this event so that the event does not accept booking or cancelling any attendees.
    Appreciate input on this and I would promptly award points.

    i have no system access at the moment but in my opinion you have to " firmly book" the event.
    Try the context menu on an event.

  • Flex/Flash Builder 4.6 and SWFKit 3.5 compatible?

    I've been using SWFKit 3.5 for the past few years with Flash Professional.  I have had no problems using a Flash Professional generated SWF and creating an executable and installer with SWFKIt.
    However, I am now currently using Flash Builder 4.6 and have created an Adobe AIR based desktop application project.  I'd like to take the SWF that is generated from that project and build an .exe and installer in SWFKit, but that does not seem to be working as easily.  When I test my application in SWFKit, the stage is blank.  To rule out any potential actionscript conflicts, I even tried by using a SWF that was nothing but a line of text on the stage, and even that did not work.  The only part of my SWF that gets translated properly in SWFKit is the background color of my application.
    Are there any known compatibility issues with SWFKit 3.5 and SWF files generated from Flash Builder 4.6?  Any idea what I could be missing?  Is there a difference in a SWF that is outputted form Flash Builder vs. Professional?
    Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    An AIR app is not just a SWF, but also its –app.xml file and then is usually packaged into a .AIR file.  Just launching the SWF won’t work as it usually launches FlashPlayer which does not have AIR APIs.

  • EEM event manager applet problem

    I'm trying to create an EEM applet to log the output of a command to file every 5 minutes. The idea is to get a traffic baseline for implementing control plane policing but I want statistics from at least a whole week (not just while I'm at work). I have a 6506-E running 12.2(18)SXF17a for WLSM (WS-SVC-WLAN-1-K9) support. Initially I was trying to save the file to tftp but it turns out one cannot "| append" to a file on a tftp server. I thought about trying to increment the file name with a counter but instead I opted for this:
    event manager applet controlplanelog
    event timer cron name controlplanelog cron-entry "0/5 * * * *"
    action 1.0 cli command "enable"
    action 1.1 cli command "show policy-map control-plane | append disk1:log.txt"
    This didn't seem to work because the contents of the file "disk1:log.txt" didn't change over the course of my lunch time. I thought I had the timer messed up so I changed the entry "0/5 * * * *" to "0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * *". That didn't work either so I changed the event to none and ran it manually using "event manager run" and still, the file "disk1:log.txt" contents did not change.
    Am I trying to execute an unsupported command or is this an error or am I just doing it wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

    That is wierd. I must have typed it in wrong somewhere....
    I had already removed all eem commands since I used the numbers from the other 6500 log file. When I added them back in with the command changed to "show version" the text file was modified as expected. Even before checking the file, I noticed a difference because I had debugging on per your previous suggestion and these lines showed up in addition to the lines which previously showed up.

    On a side note I have been pondering something unrelated to my original question but maybe you know the answer to that too. If I have NTP restricted by an access list using the "ntp access-group peer" and "ntp access-group serve" commands as well as through control plane policing, which list is processed first: Do the "ntp access-group" commands keep packets from entering the control plane that don't match the list or do they hit the control plane before being dropped by the access-list?

    Is your question related to allowing the registration for two programs on the same day at different locations? If yes, it will be giving a warning message that your training registration is overlapping with already regestered program. That to only when the time of the programs is same. You need to implement custom checks if you would like to resist from registring for such programs.
    Conceptually, it is always possible for a person to attend two programs in the same day at two locations (here location definition is company dependent and how do you define different locations of your company). So it wont resist from registring or infact if possible from participating as long as the schedule is not collaiding...

    Best way to check the guidelines is to see help.sap.com.
    From my experience you need to follow the following steps:
    1. Create busness event groups
    2. Create business event types
    3. Create resource types
    4. Create resources
    5. Create external instructors (if any)
    6. Create companies (if any)
    7. Create locations
    8. Manage integration switches (SEMIN rows in T77S0 table)
    For the master data creaton activities above, you can create LSMW to make it possible for mass data upload.
    After your business catalog and all other master data is in place,
    1. Plan business events - PSVP
    2. Create business events wth/without resources - PSV2
    3. Book attendees- PSV1
    As recurring activities:
    1. Firmly book the events.
    2. Cancel events (if needed)
    3. Follow-up events.

  • Getting Training and Event Management Data using IT0031

    Scenerio:
    One of the Employee Is Retired. Now we hire it again for the same role ( extending its period after posting it as retired).
    So the good thing that we can use the IT0031 "Reference Personnel Numbers" to get the desired ITs and found that can get other cutomized ITs by checking in the "Copy Infotype" attribute of IT records.
    Now this seems to be valid if we are in the same module
    but waht if i want to get this magic "Referencing of ITs" done for the "Training and Event Managment" Data of the employee.
    Is it Possible Automatically ... or have to go fro ABAP... (I will not prefer ABAP)...
    I hope i have stated the problem clearly ...

    Hi Prosper,
    You need to configure lot of settings, prior to Business Event, because one BE is based on various elements like Location, Attendee type, Instructor, Fees, Resources, Time Schedule, Services, BE type, BE Group.
    After configuring all these for BE type, you need to create a BE for the BE type. Then, you can go for day to day activities like Booking, Pre Booking, Cancellation.

    Hi All, I am trying to get the bursting working on EBS 11.5.10. What I am trying to achieve is to email invoice data to a supplier using the remittance email address held against the vendor site in EBS. I have looked at the Bursting 101 info on Garet
