Location base app.

hi guys,
my current prj is on location base application(LBS).
my prj summary is to build a software by which clients can get their location as well as their location will be displayed on a area map where s/he currently staying.
but prob is, i don't know what r the steps to build such s/w. i'v slight experiences on j2me base apps. but not on LBS. i'm using wtk2.5 and os is xp.
i'v already seen the built in app supplied with wtk2.5 but the matter is that is totally stand alone(i think so !!!), coz without connecting any server it works !!!
would u guys pls pls pls brief me what is the architecture of such app in which user requests the server and the server generate his her location with the map.
i did GCF programs. but i can't understand how the LBS like apps work.
i'm confident that some of u definitely did such apps. pls show me some light heartly, coz it should be submitted within 10 to 12 days.

I've been unable to locate an app that will do this. The Photos app that comes with the phone or iPad has extremely limited duration controls. PhotoStream seems to load everything from my phone or iPad not allowing me to just load up a set group of images.
iPhoto for iPad is getting some terrible recent reviews. I tried a couple other free apps but they don't use Airplay.
I can do something like this with iPhoto and my MB Air, but it's kind of ugly to have the computer open in order to connect by Airplay to my Apple TV. I've thought the iPad or iPhone would be a lower profile controller.
Am I out of luck?

Thanks for your help. Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV. I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air. Thanks again.

Devices and I are in one city but time zone and location based apps show devices location in another city

iPad2 with IOS 8.1.2 located with me in Eastern Time Zone city but settings under General reflects Central Time Zone(Chicago). All location based Apps are reflecting a Central Time Zone city, one that I have never visited. I did an erase and restore of a backup prior to this issue but it was not resolved. What do I do?

I am having a similar issue. I moved about 10-15 miles. Any app, such as Maps, a Weather, etc, that use location keep showing my current location as my old address. I'm interested in hearing the solution to your problem.

You can move apps around in iOS 7 the same as iOS 6. Press an app icon until you see it wiggle; then drag it to where ever you want it to be. Drag it onto another app to create a folder with the two apps. Tap the Home button to stop the wiggle.

Data base apps download to pc so can hotsync to m500

trying to get a data base app to download to my pc. want to be able to type in put on pc ( windows 7 ultimate ). want to use an app to catalog my library coll. Have down loaded Book Tracker; Book Bag;Books Log and Tomevault. They show in my down load file but i am unable to open them on my pc to use the typewriter. Pretty much a novice at this.

I am not familiar with any of those apps. However, to do what you are describing (i.e. enter and edit data either on the handheld or on your desktop) requires an application which has both a handheld and a companion desktop application which communicate with each other.
Consider products from SplashData, such as SplashShopper. Yeah, the name says "shopper", but it is a great list organizer, and comes with a desktop application.

I'm not aware of any way on an iPhone to see which account a given app was purchased through, though, other than by logging into each account in turn and looking at the list. If you have the apps synched to iTunes on your computer, you can see the purchasing account by doing a Get Info on the app.

You can't remotely turn on Settings > iCloud > Find My iPad, if you don't already have it enabled then you won't be able to try and locate it.
You've reported it to the police? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model then also contact your carrier

Location base reminder way off.

Suddenly my iPhone 5 location base reminders are way off. I've checked my location on google maps and the blue dot of my current location is correct but somehow my phone thinks I'm miles away and a reminder will pop up. Does anyone know what could have happened or how to fix it? I've also tried rebooting it by turning my phone off.

Posting this in hopes people having the same problem find this thread.
I had this same issue on my iPhone 4. I never got them working correctly, they would either trigger miles away from the address I put in or not trigger at all. I gave up on that feature.
My iPhone 5 was doing the same thing. I tried everything I could find in various forums - making sure iCloud sync was on, Exchange reminders sync off, etc etc. Nothing was helping.
I called Apple support and talked with them for a half an hour about this. They said they haven't really heard of this problem (proof they don't read their support forums) and didn't have much to offer in terms of help.
Then it dawned on me - I wonder if WiFi was the problem? I've been turning it off when not at my home/office to conserve battery life, but I wondered if leaving it on would improve the location based services. So I left it on.
Boom - reminders are now working as they should, triggering within 100-200 feet of the address I put in. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner.
So, if you're having problems like this, try leaving WiFi on. Hope that helps!

Can't locate base station using Mac or windows

I just bought a airport extreme to replace my ageing linksys. I set it up exactly per instructions. I got the light to glow green. However, none of my devices can locate the base station on airport utility.

If you plug the new base station in the password is "public" and you should be able to find it at 192.168.0.1. Open a broswer and type in that address and you should get a login to set it up.
You need to plug into it direct with a cable if you can't sign in to the wireless network.

Does anyone know of an easy to use iPad App for a very simple data base that will allow insertion of photos? I want to create a searchable inventory

Both has its own advanteages and disadvantages I think.
First of all we use the connection pooling mechanism.
In all our applications we open one connection for an entire reqeust and pass the connection object along.

Setting default download location for apps

Ok I found one thread on this but it was never really answered. Im looking for a way to set the location that my apps download to.
Right now I have no space on my C: drive and would like all my app files to be sent to my D: drive.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I've checked My N8 (Belle) and 808 (Belle FP1) and can't find anywhere to configure the download location.

IOS8 location based apps crashing

Anyone seeing apps that are location based crashing in iOS 8.0.2? For example, Foursquare crashes right after a message about allowing access to you location pops up. Also, clicking on a location of a photo in Instagram crashes. Weather apps as well. Deleting/rebooting/reinstalling apps have not helped.
Will wiping the iOS and reinstalling it be the key?

same problem here. Fresh iPhone 6 Plus right out of the box, went to disable frequeant locations and it crashes. Restored phone in DFU mode and retried and exact same thing happened. I am assuming this is an issue with iOS 8.0.2 or maybe a hardware Issue

How to permanantly Re-locate Installed apps on E63

on my E63, when I install apps they go into the Install. folder in the menu. But I organize them and move them to other folders, However mysteriously the end up back in the install. folder somehow usually aftter another installation of another app Is ther a way to lock them in the folder I move them to or is this a bug?

the things I am moving are not the programs on the disk/memory they are the shortcuts in the menu, the programs are still where they where installed ussually the memory card, like a computer you can move shortcuts from the start menu around to where you want them, thats what I was doing and it appears the e63 loses the location of the shortcuts under certain circumstances.havent pegged exactly when it happens ussually after a install but some went back the other day with out doing an install but I did power off and on the phone so maybe that waa it
