Location - How to change city ?

Hi,
I am a big trouble with Aperture / Place. I live in Nivelles, a little city in Belgium. But, for all picture I take, Aperture give the city=Clarisse a little place in my city. So, I try to manage place and I can change the place name but it's unpossible to define the city.
Google tell me to ask to Tele-Atlas but they don't find any mistake in hun database.
All my picture have metadata with GPS location and Country/Province/City inside metadata.
Any idea ?
Regards

I don't rely on Aperture's Place as it handles GPS data inaccurately. In fairness, it can get pretty close at times. For example, if I took photos with iPhone 4 using GPS enabled, and then downloaded these iPhone 4 photos into Aperture, it shows strange, strange inaccuracy pintpoints of these photos taken with iPhone 4. I did a little experiments with my culinary delights project at my residence. I took a couple photos of my cooking in different positions with all angles. What I have found is that when I open these photos in Aperture, the GPS pinpoints shows strange, strange reference. But only one picture shows the accuracy, the rest were all wrong by some meters. Way off big time. I still don't know why, but I had managed to move the pins to the right place as the first one.
I would rate it as 70 to 80 percent accuracy of showing GPS location.

Hello, I am editing a project but Premiere is running really slow. I know realize that my files are located on a network drive. Now I want to change my files in premiere to at new location, hard drive for example. is this possible?
    Best regards
    Anders.

Open the deployment manager, right click on the location and choose "Register" from the popup menu.
Note that you will not be allowed to change the login information if you have deployed any objects to the location. If this is the case, then all deployed objects must be dropped before you can make any changes.
If what you want to do is to deploy to two different environments (eg development and production) the best thing to do is probably to use two sepparate locations.

  • How to change the storage location in Lightroom 3.6.?

How to change the storage location in Lightroom 3.6.?
I use my internal hard drive NTFS of my MacBook Pro  as my storage location of Lightroom 3.6. being installed in Snow Leopard now but the data of my photos get too big now. I have two fast and big external hard drives eSATA now which I want to use for my data/photos. I know how to copy the data from one hard drive to another but I don't know how to change the settings in connection with Lightroom easily. I still want to watch all fotos on my MacBook Pro but don't want to save any fotos on my internal harddrive any more. Isn't it possible to have the programm Lightroom on my internal harddrive but the data on two times on two different extermal hard drives? If I look at Lightroom - settings of catalogue - I see that the internal harddrive location is my storage location now but I my two external harddrives don't appear as folders. Why? How to change that so that the external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?
My external hard drives are in HFS+ but I use the software of Paragon so that there shouldn't be any problem to read and write the data (I use also Final Cut Express so my external hard drives are HFS+ and not NTFS).
I want to impert many data from CDs - should I copy the fotos first to my external hard drive and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import the data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the folders two times?
I see that I have to sort the fotos from the CDs in new different folders and an used to do that in Finder of my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want have to click each of hundreds of fotos to be able to put it into the right folders ... But how to import only a part of a CDs quickly into the right (newly created) folders?
    Kind regards, Karin

Would you really leave the names of photos like DSC05271.ARW and DSC05271.jpeg etc.?
What if I name them f.i. like ...
    2013-09-11_Austria_1_mountain.jpeg
    2013-09-11_Austria_2_mountain.jpeg
    2013-09-11_Austria_3_valley.jpeg
I would NOT do this. I would not change the file name.
I would add keywords and other metadata to the photos to identify the content of the photos, and from that point on, I would use keywords and other metdata to search for these photos.
However, let's look at the big picture. I think there are three different methods of organizing
Organize via keywords and other metadata, and not via operating system constructs such as file name and folder name
Organize via operating system constructs such as file name and folder name, and not via keywords and other metadata
Some combination of 1 and 2
You can choose any one of the three methods above, the choice is yours. I am a very strong believer that for most people (and it sounds like you are one of those people), method 1 is the best method. However, not everyone agrees.
There are drawbacks to using file names to identify your photos. One big drawback is that you must type the information into each photo's name, and this is more tedious than if you wanted to assign the keyword "mountain" to the photos, you can assign the keyword to multiple photos at once. Also, if you mis-spell the information in the file name on any photo, you have just made the photo much harder to find; whereas in Lightroom, the keyword can be assigned via a mouse click (so you can't mis-spell it), or by typing the first few letters and Lightroom (auto-fill) will find the correct keyword name. So using keywords is a much simpler way to go.
.. is this much too complicated to do that in Lightroom or even dangerous to got lost of photos?
It is very simple to add keywords, as I explained for this case. Create keywords "Austria", "Mountain", "Valley"; then select the desired photos, and then click on the check box next to the keyword name. It is much more complicated in my opinion to rename the photos in this manner.
There is less danger in doing this via keywords than the danger doing this via file names, because of potential mis-spellings.
If I spend a lot of time in editing photos (in Lightroom or Photoshop) I don't want that I loose those photos f.i. later if Lightroom won't be the software I use regarding the photos (in 10, 20 years?!)
Lightroom will OPTIONALLY write your keywords and other metadata to the files (or sidecar files in the case of RAW). Every photographic application I know of (and I'm sure those in the future) can read the keywords and other metadata. So if you ever want to switch to some other software, your keywords and other metadata are available. you can turn this option on via Edit->Catalog Settings->Metadata, check Automatically Write Changes to XMP.
So I have to create two folders - one with the originals and one with the edited exported photos?
No, you do not have to create two folders. You don't have to export everything, but if you do, you can put the exports wherever you want, including putting them in the same folder as the originals, with different name.
Why not edit them in Photoshop and save them in the second folder which I import later in Lightroom? Because it takes longer?
Wow, you really need to think about: Why are you using Lightroom?
Could you explain this to me? Why are you using Lightroom?
If your goal is to edit the photos in Photoshop, and then put them in folders with whatever custom name you want to give them, then what is the benefit of using Lightroom? You can do all of this WITHOUT Lightroom. You keep explaining that your intended goal is to use Photoshop and folders/file names, and this is a goal which AVOIDs all benefits of Lightroom. I can't understand what you think the benefits of using Lightroom are for you.
It is starting to sound to me like Lightroom is not the right software for you.

How to change the line item storage location during the sales order creatio

    Hi Kumar,
I think you can just delete it in the sales order directly, if you are using make-to-order scenario, then there will be special stock left for the sales order as the production has been goods receipt, you need to use MM transaction move the stock to unrestricted use stock. If you are using make-to-stock scenario, there should be no further problem. If you are using assembly order, please try to reject the sales order item to see if it could fullfill your requirement.

    Hi Try like this,
Go to the Database option on the top > Select Set data source option.
The top portion of the Set Data source Location window shows the current connection and part at the bottom is where you would make a connection to the new database
Once the connection has been made, select 'one' table from the current connection and then select a matching table in the new connection and click on the 'Update' button. Do this for all the tables one by one.

  • How to change trace file location in Oracle Fusion Middleware

    Hi all,
I would like to know how to change the location of the trace file in Oracle Fusion Middleware - Report Server 11g ?
I notice there is logging.xml file in $ORACLE_HOME/config/ReportServerComponenent/logging.xml. In the xml file, it did specify the location of the diagnostic file and other log files.
Is it the correct way to reconfigure the location of the log file? I havent try it though. :D
    Thanks.

    Hi Fleix,
For additional instructions for Release 11i, see Note.167635.1 and Note.150168.1.
For additional instructions for Release 11.0.3 and 10.7, see Note.148982.1 and Note.135715.1.
    a. Append the following to the end of the URL used to login to the Oracle Applications:
    ?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/oracle.FRD.log
** Note: The self service login URL will not work for creating FRD trace files. You may need to talk to your technical team to get the URL that accesses the forms server directly.
    b. If the URL to logon to 11i applications is:
    http://machine:9603/dev60cgi/f60cgi
Then the following label needs to be included:
    ?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/'file_name'.frd
For example to create frd for above url log in to application as
    http://machine:9603/dev60cgi/f60cgi?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/4764802.992.frd
    c. Now log into the application and go directly to the form with the problem and perform the actions which generate the error.
Once the error has been generated and cleared, immediately log out of the application so no additional diagnostics are captured.
    d. The diagnostics will be written to the file specifed after "log=". In the example, this would be /tmp/4764802.992.frd
    e. After reproducing the issue, log on the server side of the instance and go to the directory to /tmp (cd tmp)
    f. Retrieve the frd file: /tmp/4764802.992.frd
This file contains all the details about built-in programs, triggers, procedures in a FORM
    Thanks,

  • How to change the ORACLE_HOME location in listener

    Hi,
    I have 2 instances under one oracle_home.
I am planning to install new oracle home in another location and move one instance to that new oracle home.
My doubt is, how to change the listner.ora such that one of the instances should point to new oracle home.
    1) Do I need to copy the listener.ora from old oracle home to new home and put only the new instance details in that?
I am not understanding how to deal with listener.ora without disturbing the old instance listener.
    Thanks,
    Mahi

if we bounce the listener the connections to other might be lost.NO!
The listener contacts the DB to establish the initial connection between client & DB.
After the connection between DB & client has started, the listener has NO involvement between DB & client.
Stopping the listener has NO impact on existing sessions.

  • How to change location information under metadata tab?

When I use the search box under the Places icon to assign a location to a photo, sometimes Aperture places a pin near but not directly on the place I have identified and puts an incorrect location in the tag.  If I zoom in, I can accurately place the pin, and the tag then changes to the correct location.  The problem is that both correct and incorrect locations display in the location box in the metadata field.  I've tried completely eliminating the incorrect location with Manage my Places.  I've tried removing the location from the photo and starting again.  In both cases, both original locations remain in the location box under the Metadata tab.  This makes using the search function for places worthless since there are so many false hits.
Is there anyway to modify the location box under the metadata tab once in contains inaccurate information?

I tried inserting a screen shot here, but I got a message that said "The content type of this image is not allowed."  Let me see if I can explain more clearly.
To assign places, I have begun by clicking on the Places icon on the upper right hand side of the screen where the choices are Browser, Split View, Viewer, Faces, Places, Loupe, Full Screen.  When I click on Places, I get a search box where I put the place I want to assign to a photo.  Sometimes, when I see the location I want in the search results and click on Assign, Aperture puts a pin close to the desired location (but not exactly on it) and gives it a random place name (not the one I chose).  If I zoom in and put the pin exactly where I want it, the place name changes to the one that I searched for to begin with.  So far so good.
On the left hand column of the screen, there are three tabs at the top of the column - Library, Metadata, and Adjustments.  If I click on the Metadata Inspector and look at the Location box at the bottom of that screen for the photo I've just described above, I see two locations listed - the first incorrect place name as well as the correct location that I changed it to when I moved the pin.
I've tried three things unsuccessfully to get around this problem.
In the Metadata drop-down menu, I've used Manage Your Places to delete the wrong location altogether.  It disappears from my list of locations there, but it remains in the Location box for the in individual picture in the Metadata Inspector.  From the Action pop-up menu (the gear icon) for the individual photo in the Metadata Inspector, I've chosen Location Name and selected the single name that I want.  Both names remain in the Location box.  I've had a One-on-One session at the Apple Store.  (I took my computer with me so that she would see exactly what I was talking about.)  The woman there told me that she thinks that this is a bug, and she doesn't know how to get around it.  It was she who recommended that I try the Apple Support Communities to see if anyone has solved this.

  • Finder Places: how to change location?

I have moved my large iTunes and iPhoto libraries to an external hard drive. However, I cannot figure out how to change the location in the sidebar of the Finder to show that the new places are external.
Any advice on how to do this?
    Thank you.

    Flink,
I think I understand what you're looking for.
Those special "shortcuts" in the Finder Sidebar only point to the corresponding folders in your HOME folder. You cannot change this. However, you can create aliases of Library folders you moved to the external, and place those aliases in the folders inside your HOME folder.
Right now, you select one of the Sidebar items (let's take the "Pictures" folder, for example), and you see the contents of your "Pictures" folder. One included item is your "iPhoto" folder. By creating an alias of the externally-stored iPhoto folder and placing in the "Pictures" folder, you'll see the same thing.
You'll still need to tell iPhoto and iTunes where to look for their Library folders, though. iPhoto handles this pretty easily, but iTunes needs a bit more coaxing. Instead of moving the iTunes library yourself, open the "Advanced" tab of the iTunes preferences. Enable the "Keep music organized" checkbox, then click "OK." Change the location using the dialogue in this preference pane, then dismiss the preferences dialogue. Finally, choose File>Library>Consolidate Library to copy the entire library to the chosen location.

  • I just moved and my iPad location is still showing my old location how do I change that?

I just moved and my iPad location is still showing my old location how do I change that?

That's the problem.  A WiFi-only iPad uses a database of router locations to determine location.  Unfortunately, the mechanics behind this database are a tightly-held secret.  Your location may change to the correct one within a week or two or it may take as long as a year!  (I'm not kidding.)  Incidentally, it will help if you're within range of other routers.  Doesn't matter if you pass data through them and also doesn't matter if they're locked.  The only requirement is "within range."
By the way, you will find that, if you take your iPad away from your house, it will report your location more accurately.

I just got a retro clock from brookstone and in setting it up it asked if I want to use current location which is incorrectly "Buffalo" but I do not know how to change it.  Can anyone help me find where to change location?

As I understand it, Apple gets your location from the wi-fi router to which your iPod is connected.  Location Services identifies the router and then checks for its location in Apple's database.  If the router has been recently relocated or if there is a glitch in Apple's database, you will get an incorrect location.  I don't think that there is anything you can do about it.  You could send Apple a message about the error, but I doubt if they would do anything about it.
