Location network services for 7921

Dear Friends,
I do have 7921[CP-7921-E-K9] ,which needs to connect to 1252 AP [1252LAP-E-K9] .controllers used is WiSM [5.0]
Initially country code configured was AE and later was added US .
When I try to connect to the AP , it displays on the phone , locating network services and after that configuration failed. The ssid i created is just open .
Did I miss anything ? Please advise.
Regards,
SID

Hi Gamccall,
Thanks for the response .
Apparently I have checked by connecting laptop with this particular SSID to be connected to the wireless ip phone.
Also I have connected the same vlan to the ip phone and it works .
The SSID is created is so simple . It is open and not broadcasted .
Setting are made by typing SSID as it is , followed by Security Mode which is open , 802.11 which is confusing and I have selected Auto -RSSI to automate the channels and finally single access point which is disabled and power mode which is none.
When I switch on the phone, I get locating network services and followed by connection failed .
Regulatory domains selected is AE and US and channels selected are 1,6,11,13 .
Is there anything I missed ? Please advise .
Regards,
SID

  • 7921s are "locating network services"

We recently deployed 130 7921s company-wide. About 10-15 of these 7921s get stuck at "locating network services". We've reset to factory settings and manually reconfigured, same end result.
We've discovered after trying several different batteries, device will eventually auto-register.
Also, the battery that doesn't work on the 10-15 7921s, work fine on other functional 7921s.
It's like certain 7921 batteries don't work on certain 7921s. Is there any known issue of this sort?
Should we just RMA these units for a warranty replacement?

The odd thing about the 7921 issue is device will register and appear to look and work fine, then revert to locating network services, then repeats cycle. Seems like after sitting idle (on or off the charger)or like after phone warms up, it reverts to locating network services. At that time there is no radio signal and CCM shows device as not registered.
Have reset devices to factory default setting and reconfigured, but same end result.
We have about 15 7921's with this issue and do not use them since they're not fully functional.
    We use standard batteries.

  • 7921 stuck at Locating Network Services

Trying to set up a new 7921 phone with a Cisco AP (1131). I have a laptop that can see the SSID and connect with no issues. The 7921 just keeps cycling the same message "Locating Network Services".
I took the phone and sat it top of the AP and still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From your config, you are doing Open + WEP, so set the phone to that, enter the 26 digit Hex WEP key for key 1 and set the ssid to WR-VOICE. Ensure there is no space at the end.
If you enter site survey mode, you should be able to see the AP as long as the SSID is correctly input.
Then just have to worry about the authentication piece.
Ensure the phone has 1.3(2) loaded.
Should order a -A phone if in the Americas, but if you have a -W phone, then you need to enable world mode (802.11d) on the AP.
You would enter a command like the following:
    interface dot11radio 1
    world-mode dot11d country US both
See the 7921G Deploiyment Guide for other country codes if necessary.

  • 7921 phone locating network services

Phone is displaying locating network services, ap's are not seeing devices using leap along with passwords and username.

If it always displays "location network services", then more than likely there is a configuration issue either on the phone or ap side. Ensure that the ssid matches (case sensitive) and the authentication type matches. Ensure there is not a space at the end of the ssid when you entered it into the 7921G. Can use LEAP or AKM security mode on the 7921G, which will sue LEAP for 802.1x.
Ensure you are using firmware version 1.2(1) on the 7921G.
For more info, see the 7921G Deployment Guide @ http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/6_0/english/deployment/guide/7921dply.pdf.

SSH is enabled for all users on both Macs. Manually added diradmin aswell just to make me feel better.
Additionally, here's what I get when I try running preflight on either Mac:

  • Network Service account and Exchange 2013 services

I installed Exchange 2013 CU8 on two 2012 R2 machines, but the services that run under Network Service for Exchange won't start. If I put Network Service in the local admin group, the services start. Prior to putting it in the admin group, I gave it full
permission on all Exchange folders, but that didn't help...thanks.

    Hi,
Please run “setup.com /preparedomain” and see if the permission are set to default and the issue persists.
Please add Read permission for NT AUTHORITY\Network Service to all Exchange servers in ADSIEdit to have a try:
    Expand CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=.com > CN=Services > CN=Microsoft Exchange > CN=Domain > CN= Administrative Groups > CN=(Group name) > CN=Servers. Right-click all Exchange service, and add Read permission for NT AUTHORITY\Network Service
    account.

  • Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness service on Local computer

i have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop running windows vista home premium media center edition. i have recently been getting an error when trying to view networked computer saying  "connection status: unknown" and "the dependency service or group failed to start". i started by disabling and re-enabling the driver and that did not help. i then brought up the services.msc thing and started looking at the networking services. i noticed that the Network Location Awareness service was not started so i tried to start it. i got a popup message saying "Windows could not start the Netwrok Location Awareness service on Local Computer. Error 0xc000096: 0xc0000096".
i also get an error popup when i try to start the Network List service saying "Windows could not start the Network List Service service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start".
what might i have done to make this happen and what can i do to try to fix it?

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
I fully understand the inconvenience the issue has been caused and the current situation can be frustrating. Please try the following steps for troubleshooting.
    1.    Please start the computer in Safe Mode with Network and check the result. If the issue disappears, please perform a clean boot.
For the detailed steps, please refer to the step 1 and 2 in the KB article 936214 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936214).
    2.    If the issue persists, please check the system file by using the command SFC /scannow.
For more information, please refer to the KB article 929833 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833).
If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue that service fails to start up, please understand that debug and dump analysis may be required for further troubleshooting. Also, in most cases, it is necessary to check the source codes. However, debugging is out of our forum’s support boundary. • Authorization is required for this network service

I am trying to set up Shared Reviews with Acrobat 9.5 using an internal server running IIS 7.0 and Windows Server 2008 SP1.  I have users that will be accessing the reviews from within our domain and users that will be accessing reviews from other domains.  What is the proper Authentication method to use? What are the proper folder sharing and security setup?
When initiating a shared review, I can get to the dialog box where I enter email addresses.  After I click Send, I am unable to get passed the Remote Service Authentication dialog. The RSA dialog appears three times. I enter my username and password three times. The last time a dialog appears. Part of the message on it says, "Status:  The shared folder location you provided is not setup correctly to store comments for this shared review. The problem is:  Authorization is required for this network service."
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am using a web server folder.
    All participants have r/w access.
I can send email and use Acrobat.com
I can open a web browser and type in the web address for the web server folder.  I am presented with a dialog requesting username and password. I key those in and then the default.htm displays in the browser. I can do this from both inside and outside our domain. That suggests that the IIS setup is correct.
If I try a shared review within Acrobat, after I have keyed in an email address for a recipient and click send, I am presented with the Remote Service Authentication dialog box.  After entering the username and password three different times I see an error message box that says:
Status: The shared folder location you provided is not setup correctly to store comments for this shared review. The problem is: Authorization is required for this network service.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Steve

  • Site survey for location based services

    Hi Experts ,
Wht are the paramenters I need to concentrate while doing the site survey that incldes the requirement of location services?
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Location-based services:
WLAN location-based services requires that access points are placed in such a
fashion that the Active RFID tags and 802.11 clients ar
e surrounded by access points for ultimate optimization.
(This is a different access point placement strategy than data and voice WLAN only networks). If you are
surveying for location based services, acce
ss point placement is done differently. For more information on
deploying location based services, refer to the Cisco 2700 Series Wireless Location Appliance Deployment
    Guide available at Cisco.com.

  • Deployment issue - Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'

I am attempting to deploy a site from my development PC to my server. I have no issues running the site on the server using VS2010 Express Web in debug. All page queries are working within the debugger. The connection strings are identical between the PC
and Server, except the host name.
    connectionString
    ="Data
    Source=SOCIALSERVER;Initial Catalog=Intake_be;Integrated Security=True"
However, when using the site normally via IIS, the pages containing data access are failing with a permissions problem. The non-data access pages render normally.
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'
Looking at the SQL2005 instance via SQL Management Studio, I see security folder with Logins under the Server. NTA\NS is listed as a user login. But, I also see similar folders under each
of 3 databases. NTA\NS is not listed as a login specific to my target dB.
My site is for internal (intranet) use only. There is no internet access into my IIS. This is my first deployment into production. I think I only need Windows Authentication but I lack the experience to make a good decision. My goal is to allow domain users
to access pages that produce read only data. But, I also need controlled access to pages that can modify data. I used the native winform template for ASP.NET 4, which includes some roles based security.
How do I grant permissions for internal users on the pages that access SQL data? How does that security model work with the native roles based security? i.e.
    add
    name="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider"type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider"connectionStringName="ApplicationServices"...
    etc.
Thanks for your time and patience on this Deployment 101 type issue.
    Kurt

    hi,
You receive either of these error messages specifically when you use integrated security.
To resolve you can use one of below.
Method 1: Programmatically change the security context of the ASP.NET worker process to a user who has the correct SQL Server permissions.
Method 2: Change the default configuration of ASP.NET so that the ASP.NET worker process starts and runs under the context of a user who has the correct permissions in SQL Server.
Method 3: Grant the correct permissions in SQL Server so that the ASPNET account (or NetworkService account, for an application that runs on IIS 6.0) has the appropriate access to the required resources.(Go to the Computer Management >> Local User and
Groups >> Groups >> Right Click and go to properties on IIS_IUSRS >> Add appropriate user.
Thanx, Mark as answered if you are ok ..

In Windows Event long I can see the following events logged:
    Event 3002, Port Map:
Windows(R) failed a request to register RPC Port Mapper on TCP port 111.  RPC Port Mapper cannot start.
Network File System (NFS) clients use RPC Port Mapper (also known as Portmap and Rpcbind) to discover NFS protocols on remote servers.  Without RPC Port Mapper, Server for NFS
cannot start and NFS clients cannot access files on this server.
Verify that no other software is registered on TCP port 111, then start Server for NFS manually (which will also start RPC Port Mapper).
    Event 7000, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Driver service depends on the Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service which failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS service depends on the Server for NFS Driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start.
Based on a technet forum I have already checked and made sure there is no other service running on port 111 (command used is netstat -a -b -o).
    Dependent Service Status:
During the installation process “Client for NFS” seems to have gone well and the service started successfully. But the “Server for NFS” failed, when checked for the status of the dependent process “portmap” service failed to start with the WIN32_EXIT_CODE
“31 (0x1f)”. Please find below the query result.

As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.
    Thanks

My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!
    Have a good one!

  • Apple TV 2 Waiting for network services, unable to sign in to iTunes store

    Received my Apple TV yesterday.
It is connected to my network (I have tried wired and wireless).
I can view movie previews and Podcasts.
I cannot sign in to the iTunes Store (therefore cant rent movies), cannot view Youtube videos (No content available), cannot use Netflix (Waiting for network services when I try).
I spoke to Apple support, they couldn't help. They say the problem is with my network or my ISP.
I have a Linksys WRT160N router, on which I have tried disabling the firewall.
My ISP is Telus, I am on their Fibre Optic network in BC. I wonder if Telus are blocking Apple TV?
    Anyone else experiencing this?

I received my Apple TV yesterday.
I am running cable internet with 10Mbps constant.
So I connected it up and proceeded to issue after issue. I could not log into my Apple account. It was stating that my name or password was incorrect.
When I would start the unit it would stay at the waiting for network connections screen for several minutes!
I did all the tricks of turning the apple of and back on, NO FIX.
I tried to update the software, and I recieved a message that stated I have the most updated software, so....NO FIX
I did a full restore. The Apple TV downloaded the newest software and rebooted after about 7 minutes, NO FIX
I logged into my router and opened all ports, added ports 80 and 123, NO FIX
I also disabled my entire firewall on my router and turned off the WEP security feature...and what would you guess.....NO F I X!!
So I logged back into my router and reset all my original settings...still NO FIX.
SO here is the good part...Apparently the system has to connect to time.apple.com and get updated...it's sort of like a verification of the system.
So after it updated everything worked great! No unable to sign into my account. NO waiting on network connections anymore.
So the biggest advice I can give, especially after my 3 hours of gradually wasting my time until I almost threw the unit out my bedroom window, is connect it to your WIFI system and let it sit by itself for a few hours and let it connect to the Apple server.
Hope this helps everyone that, at some point, has shared my pain and frustration.

  • How do you turn on location services for the Photos app?

I reset my location services and I need to reactivate the location services for those apps I want to use this function.  I have turned on location services for all other apps, including CAMERA, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on for PHOTOS (Camera Roll).  This option did appear when I did the new iPhone5 setup, but I cannot get it back.  And PHOTOS is not listed in the apps shown under the Location Services setting page.  I set my wife's phone up too and the PHOTOS app is showing on her phones Location Services setting page.  Help please.

    Hi There
I had the same problem and actually I found out that in Location Services you need to Turn On the option for CAMERA, as there is no photos icon.
    Cheers
    Iva

Perhaps it would be helpful for you to view the page source code of this page
    http://www.alanwork.com/
As you can see, the submenu code links are immediately below the top level code, and are
wrapped in their own  <UL> </UL> tag pairs.
    Hope that helps
