  • Where are apple mail attachment files stored in OS 10.9

I am trying to locate an attachment file from a recently deleted message.  The message is no longer in my trash, so I can't access the file through Mail.  In the past, there was usually an archived copy somewhere on my hard drive, but it seems to have moved in my most recent update of Mac OSX.  It used to be in the Library folder in my user folder, but now there is no Library folder in that location.  Where do I find these files?

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Check the Mail folder/V2.

Dear all,, My device can't attach file *.doc when I want to send an email using attachment file My device is Blackberry 8520 Gemini Need help and suggest here Thanks

OK thanks, that clarifies many of the points. You have successfully registered HRT as well as received all new Service Books, so from that perspective, things should be good to go. A few more thoughts then.

By this, do you mean that you cannot navigate out of the picture folder it initially shows you? If you don't create a new email, can you use the on-device file manager (Homescreen > Media > > Explore) and navigate to any folder you like? If you can navigate via this, can you further select and send your .doc in this manner?
Are you a 100% personal BB or is this a corporate (BES) BB? If BES, then stop now and go see your BES admins as they have full control.
If this is a personal BB, how did you acquire it? Was it purchased directly from your carrier or was it somehow second hand? If it was second hand, you may have a latent IT policy on board from the prior owner...which would need to be removed via this procedure:

Further, you are one version behind on the OS from your carrier...the most recent they now have is 5.0.0.681. I cannot tell you if your specific issue is addressed in that update or not...but a clean reload of your OS, with this new version, might be helpful. The best instructions I know for loading (upgrade, downgrade, reload) are here:

  • Locating an attachment in a list using Designer 2013.

How do I locate an attachment to a list items in SharePoint 2013 using a Designer 2013 workflow?
    here is my action:
Call [%Workflow Context:Current Site URL%]... HTTP web service with request (ResponseContent to Variable: AttachmentUrl |ResponseHeaders to responseHeaders |ResponseStatusCode to Variable: responseCode6 )
Get d/results(0)/FileName from Variable: AttachmentUrl (Output to Variable: fileLink )
    This is my call statement:
    [%Workflow Context:Current Site URL%]/_api/web/lists/getbytitle('HP%20ALM%20Request%20List')/Items([%Current Item:ID%])/AttachmentFiles
    Thank you for assistance.

    Hi,
Based on your description, you want to get the URL of the attachment file in workflow
    1. Per my test, you should create a dictionary of the request header first, and set the Requestheaders in call HTTP web service in workflow, the link below is for your reference:
    http://sergeluca.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/calling-the-sharepoint-2013-rest-api-from-a-sharepoint-designer-workflow/
    2. To locate the attachment file, I recommend to use “d/results(0)/ServerRelativeUrl” to get relative URL of the attachment file, and you can add the site URL in front of the relative URL of the attachment file, after all you can get the URL of the attachment
    file.

  • Problem with attaching file to Sales Order

    Hello,
In my company we have the possibility to attach files to sales orders, e.g. pdf files with the printing details.
These files are added by the GUI user, this works fine.
Now we have an extra order creation stream in which a pdf file has to be added to the SO without user interaction.
    I found a helpful link ( /people/rammanohar.tiwari/blog/2005/10/10/generic-object-services-gos--in-background )
This program creates URL links with no problem, but the file generation is not implemented yet.
I tried to add the file functions to his sample report but still have one problem. The file is uploaded, but not reported as a PDF file in sap. If I select the created attachment SAP allows only the saving of the attachment. After saving the created file is a good PDF file, it opens with PDF-viewers.
Why does SAP not know this is a PDF file and report it as such (and open the pdf viewer when selected).
    Thanks, Frank.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the SDN Forums!!!
You need to supply the PC file extension in the container element 'DOCUMENTTYPE'.
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' p_msgtyp.
In your case change the above statement as below:
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' 'pdf'.
<b>OR</b> change the default value of p_msgtyp to 'PDF'.
    Cheers,

  • Error when attaching files from SharePoint library to an Outlook email?

I've got a user who's reporting that recently she started getting en error whenever she tries to attach a file from a SharePoint library to an Outlook email.
When she either drags from the library in Windows Explorer, she receives this:
When uses Attach File via Outlook and navigates to the library, she receives this:
If the file is checked out, or if require check out is disabled, then it attaches.
Anyone know why this might have started happening?  I'm assured it has historically been working for the past couple years.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    :)Ben

Thanks for your reply:)!  Mine's below:
    > Whether other users meet this issue
Yes, it's happening regardless of user.
    > Whether other files also have this issue when the user tries to attachment these files to outlook.
Yes, it's happening regardless which file is tested.
    > Please check whether the problematic file was checked out by another user. And Please attach a file without Check-out to outlook, compare the result.
It happens consistently when someone tries to attach a file that is
not checked out.  If a file is checked out (regardless of who it's checked out to), then it attaches to an Outlook email without error.
    > In addition, please check ULS log file to check whether there are some errors about this issue. The path of the log file is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS.
Nothing jumped out in the logs.  I pasted them below FWIW, but nothing jumped out at me.
    Thanks again for any suggestions!
    :)Ben

  • Attach file to mail with "unusual" characters

    Hi
I have made a procedure that can send mail with attached file/files. But when I attach a text file that contains characters like (Å, Ä or Ö) these characters gets like (A, A and ?) when I recieve the mail to my mail client. When I look at the file on the disk before I attach it the characters is OK but when I attach the file and mails it the characters get replaced. So why does the charaters get messed up when I attach the file to a mail??
    My procedure looks like this:

    Hi Madhu,
Using the default modules PayloadSwapBean and MessageTransformBean you can able to send multiple attachments.
swap.keyName  :payload-name or payload-description or content-type, content-description. swap.keyValue: If you have  a multiple attachments then give the multiple key value.
    Like you have payload name
      Attachment1, Attachment2 then
    swap.keyName  payload-name
    swap.keyValue  Attachment1, Attachment2
Using the MessageTransformBean you can able to change the file name.

  • Can't Attach Files in 10.9 Mail via Menubar/Toolbar

All of a sudden I cannot attach files in Mail via menu commands.  A selection (finder) window opens but all items are grayed out (no matter what location).  I can still attach files by dragging them from the Desktop (or other location) into the body of the email.
    Isolation:
-Issue persists in Safari when logging into webmail.
--Choosing to "attach" a file to an email (new composure or reply) from the webmail attach links brings up a Finder window with all content grayed out.
    -Created test admin user.
    --logged in as new user.
--set up Mail w/ an email account.
--attempted file attachment from menubar/toolbar icons.
    --works.
    ***issue is user specific.
    Resolution:
    -Access primary user ~/Library/Preferences/.
--locate files named "com.apple.finder" .plist (may have multiple files w/ additional characters).
--select all and move to Trash.
    --Restart.
    -log in and test.

It does work if I switch to the "older version" of Gmail.
Does anybody know if there's a setting I can change so I can use Gmail normally but be able to add attachments to mail?
    Anybody else having this issue?
Your profile indicates you are running a very old version of Leopard which might explain the issue.
Update to 10.5.8 using the combo update (not the auto software update) and see if that fixes your problem.

Does iTunes match need to locate the actual files or just see its record in your library database? I am currently traveling in US and I have US and Australian iTunes accounts. But all my music files are on a hard drive in Australia. Can I start using itunes music match while I am travelling without the actual music files attached to my itunes?

In your situation I strongly recommend you read over that KB article. The international iTunes Stores are not cross-compatible.
My understanding of how it would work is that when activating iTunes Match on your US Store account, any songs you have in your iTunes Library that were purchased from the AUS Store account will NOT be matched. As I understand it, those files will be uploaded (which means you need the files on a local HDD). I also do not think it is possible to have iTunes Match active on more than one store ID on the same computer. But since iTunes Match is not available internationally yet, that point is moot for the moment.
To be honest you might want to wait until the service is available internationally so you can guage how will it will serve you.

  • Can't locate imported iPhoto files in Finder

I recently imported a series of pictures into iPhoto. However I can't locate these picture files on Finder..What happened was I had to fire up iPhoto app each time and right click to 'Show File'. It said the path was user/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2007/...
I want to locate these files on Finder, however, when I clicked on user directory user/Pictures/iPhoto Library I can't drill down further. It seems that 'Originals' folder is missing. When I show package contents though, this folder showed up. This is a frustrating experience for me because I can't upload the pictures to the web, or easily find them.
Does anyone has any idea if this is normal behavior or is there a way I can easily access the list of pictures I've imported without firing up the iPhoto? Appreciate any response. Thanks very much.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Does anyone has any idea if this is normal behavior or is there a way I can easily access the list of pictures I've imported without firing up the iPhoto
This is perfectly normal behaviour for v7 of iPhoto. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.
However, better to use one of these:
10.5 users: If you use the extended Open or Attach dialogue (with Column View) you can scroll to the bottom of the Shortcuts and find the Media browser there. Select any pic you want from there.
Another way to access the files with iPhoto not running, is to create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Otherwise:
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.

  • Fetching of attached files delayed, minutes-hours in Outlook 2011 for Mac from Exchange online

    Hi,
I have an annoying problem I would be grateful if someone could solve.
I run Outlook 2011 for Mac which is synced towards Microsoft Exchange online. Everything works well except when there are attached files in incoming emails.  Sometimes it can take up to hours before an attached file is available (the email as such is
available immediately), however luckily it is mostly done within 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile the notification bar switch between "Awaiting synchronisation for this folder" and "Fetching attached files...". There is no actual difference between
larger and smaller files and there is also no problem sending emails with attached files, they are sent immediately.
I have tested in different locations with good connections to rule out unstable internet connection without success.
Thanks for any help with this issue!

  • BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 - Copy Attached file issue

    Hi,
I am trying to create a document with attachment in CV01 using the BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2.
Here my requirement is to copy the attached files from a document to another document (which I will be creating newly).
I mean attachments from document 1 to document 2.
When I try using this bapi BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2, what should I give in the docpath parameter.
I have storage category to maintain.
Even though if I pass storage category, the parameter is not checked in. So, it is throwing with error as “Error while checking and sorting”.
So, In debugging , I set to checked in again and ran successfully.
But, when I try to open the attached file in newly created document 2.  Getting error as could not be accessed.
Adding one more point is that, the fiel might have been uploaded from application server earlier and they might have removed that file from the application server. So, i should not access this file again trough application server.
Please suggest if I am doing anything wrong.
    Thanks,
    Prabu

    Hi Prabhu,
Obviously this FM checks the storage category and file location in database so if it does not exist it will give you an error so your above approach will be a correct approach.
    Check it like this
** Check in original 1 simultaneously in the SAP Database
    REFRESH lt_files.
    CLEAR lt_files.
    lt_files-storagecategory = 'SAP-SYSTEM'.
    lt_files-docfile      = 'c:\temp\drawing.txt'.
    lt_wsapplication = 'TXT'.
    APPEND lt_files.
    Thanks

  • How to attach files like .doc, .xls, .pdf  and so on in Design Editor (WYSIWYG)

    Hi,
I want to attach files like .doc, .xls, .pdf. etc in my Design editor, instead of importing those files. Is there any way to do that. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vinay Jaassiel Kankipati
    Technical Writer

    Hi Vinay.
Would these files be editable and if so, where would they reside? If you want people to be able to edit the files, you need to consider where the files are located. If you link directly to a file in RoboHelp, a local copy is copied into your project as a baggage file. If a user then clicks on the link, the local copy is opened and any edits can not be saved back to the WebHelp's output location. However if you were to create an image (like the ones you used above) and added a hyperlink to the file's location - i.e. on a network drive outside the project, this would enable users to edit and save changes to the original file location. Hope this helps.

  • Attachment file not picked - File to Mail scenario

    Hi,

I created a xml file as the main mail content(main.xml). And I also have an attachment file(txt) placed at the same location. The file adapter picks the mail.xml, but not the attachment txt file. I can see the mail in my inbox, with the mail.xml added as an attachment..
I have added the "additional files" in the File adapter configuration. Also in mail adapter configuration, I have checked "Keep attachments"
Are there any other configurations I'm missing out???

    Prateek,
the mapping is fine in IR.
    Sanjeev,
Making the optional parameter created a failure in the communication channel.
the error the file sender returns in XI runtime workbench is
"Error: java.lang.Exception: Add attachment: Mandatory additional payload file 'main.txt' not found!" though my attachment name is  "Attachment.txt" . I renamed the attachment file to "main.txt", and made necessary changes in Additional file configurations too...
I have the attachment in the same location as the main content xml file. Should I specify somewhere the location of my attachment file too?
    Gabriel,
Very useful link. but I dont see the failure in sxmb_moni now, may be because the failure occurs at the Communication Channel level itself????
