Location of Events

For some reason every time I add photos to iPhoto, it adds events to the second event.  Not the first, but the second.  Every photo I have is timestamped but for some reason the new events are going in between two events that were from 2008! This isnt Huge deal, but it is strange how it just started doing this yesterday.  If anyone know how to fix, please let me know.
Thanks

Wow, now do i feel stupid, it is strange because it just all of the sudden changed to sort manually.  But I appreciate the quick response!
THANK YOU!

Can i get mouse location and event outside JFrame?
any related link or document? thx~

what I figure out from your question is that, you want to get the coordinates even if the mouse is not directly interacting with any of the java components of your application.
I would consider this as an interaction with the OS so that it sends a call to your java program as well when ever the mouse event occurs. If you use JNI to catch system events, I think it should work.

  • ICal Sync- Not showing location of event

Hello, my first ipod is becoming a nuisance. I want to be able to see more detail of the calendar events sent from ical or entourage for that matter. On the ipod each event shows up with the summary, date and time. No other information is shown. I need the location of these events. They are shown clearly on ical and entourage. Is this a limitation to the calendar on the ipod or am I doing something wrong? I have synced the calendar with iTunes and exported the file from ical into appropriate folder on the ipod. Both ways do not work.
    Any help will be welcome.

    David,
If I am understanding you correctly then your first issue is that while a person's birthdate can be an event in iCal and shows up as an event in the iPod calendar after you sync, if you pull up the person's contact information on the iPod it does not show the birthdate, even if you have manually added birthdate as a custom field in Address Book. That may be an iPod limitation. The iPod contact display includes names, addresses, phone numbers, web address, and notes. That's about it I think, although I haven't dissected it much. What I personally have always done is put birthdate in the notes. However, if iTunes sync treats custom fields in AB the same way it handles meeting locations, then the custom fields MAY be being passed to the iPod, they are just being ignored. If so, then it probably wouldn't be too difficult to write a Perl script to copy the birthdates into the notes field so that they show up on the iPod. That might be useful to folks, so I'll look into it.
The second issue you describe is AB's import ignoring the birthdate field that you have in your tab-delimited Filemaker Pro output file. If that doesn't work my only guess would be that it is because birthdate is not a standard field in Address Book. This may be a limitation of the import that would affect other non-standard fields as well, like Nickname or Maiden Name. I'm afraid I haven't played with the import though, so I do not know for certain.

  • ICal noy syncing location of events

I have a Palm Lifedrive, and when I use iSync to sync up my calendar using OSX 10.5 Leopard, I find that it syncs pretty much everything except the location for each event. Naturally this is a little frustrating as I use this a lot, so I was wondering if anyone had encountered a similar problem and whether there is a fix for this.

It has always been this way…
To synchronize the location, place it in the Note section of the iCal event. Or, toss iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit to the curb, and download and install the Missing Sync for Palm OS.
A guide to event field mapping between iCal and the Palm OS calendaring application when using the Missing Sync for Palm OS is available here.

    Dear All,
I facing a problem, a even was disabled few months back, but still the even sending work flow mails. i have followed this below metalink document
    Oracle.Apps.Ar.Hz.Location.Update / Oracle.Apps.Ar.Hz.Location.UpdateXXXXXX [ID 352888.1]
As per the Document, i have disabled the event,, now again the same wf mail coming, what might be the reason,, how to stop this WF

    Not yet,
i found another Metalink note *Can the event 'oracle.apps.ar.hz.Location.update' be disabled? [ID 315800.1]*.
According to this note, i have disabled this following two subscriptions
    WSH_MAP_LOCATION_REGION_PKG.Rule_Location
hz_crmhk_pkg.update_location_prenow waiting for the Client mail, if the wf is not triggred then no problem otherwise i have log an SR as u said.
more over i have a doubt in that above mentioned metalink note, can u explain me what is TCA information
These functions would not get executed via workflow but the application that uses these will have a way to handle this in the application. Please check with those groups on what >to run in those applications to handle the workflow functions.
It is fine to disable the event or if you do not want to run any of the TCA workflow events then just set the HZ: Execute API Callouts profile option to NO and workflow events will >not be used for when updating TCA information.Regards

  • Move location of events

Hi, I've recently upgraded from a Macbook where my iMovie events were on an external drive to an iMac whereby I want them on the internal drive in the Shared area. I have copied the iMovie.localized folder from the external drive (that had issues) to the /Users/Shared/... tree but cannot find a way of showing the events up in iMovie without performing an import that will no doubt duplicate the contents but in a non-shareable personal folder. There is a large amount of data so can anyone advise how to achieve this?

If you want to maintain the ability to edit the projects, all moves must be done from within iMovie.
See iMovie Help for details, but in a nutshell, you can click VIEW/EVENTS BY DISK. Then Command-Drag the Event in the Event Library List in iMovie to the small icon for the external drive in the Event Library List in iMovie.
Another way. Drag the Project to the external drive icon, again using the Project Library List in IMovie. Then with the Project selected, click FILE/CONSOLIDATE MEDIA and make the appropriate choices. This will put Project, Events referenced by the project, Photo copies, and Music copies all on the same drive so they can be used on another Mac.
USB will work, although FW800 is faster. The bus speed is typically not the bottleneck on an HD render.

  • Locating what event a photo is in ...

I can't for the life of me figure this out, but here's my issue:
Due to a software glitch over a year ago, i have about 2000 photos that all have the date 5/22/05 for their date. I've been slowly trying to correct them, so I created a smart album that has all the images from that date in it. This works well, and I can easily change the date on the spot as I find them.
My issue is when I want to delete an image, or go to the event that all the photo is in, I can't. The delete option is grayed out anywhere but in the event, but I can't find a way for iPhoto to tell me what event a picture is in. Am I missing some hidden option or something that would tell me this? It seems pretty basic, and I thought Aperture could do it (I haven't used Aperture since 1.5 was first released, so I could be mistaken)

    Tom:
Create a regular album and call it Delete photo. Drag those photos you want to delete into that regular album. Go to that album, select the photos and type CommandOptionDelete. That will move those photos to the iPhoto Trash where you can empty it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Can't locate any events and or projects after install iMovie 11

The upgrade to Maverick and to iMovie 11 I think was too much.  Not only was it time consuming, but I have had significant issues with iMovie 11 running extremely slow.  Further, the Library is not intuitive (or I'm just not smart), or I'm accustomed to iMovie 9/10.  Anyway, I took the iMac to the Apple Store (Genius Bar) for a full day/night of diagnostics.  The Genius did not find anything wrong with the machine or iMovie 11.  So fustrusted, I trashed iMovie 11 and downloaded a fresh version.  It's worst now, because my event labels are their, but none of the events.  I can see the finished projects.  Another issue is that I cannot import my video from my camera.  When I press import, the app contacts the camera, displays the clips (all are blacked out), then each clip is removed from the media window (like a virus).  I am left with no way to import.  Not sure, but this is definately a flaw.  I think I'll go back to iMovie 9.

Regardless of whether I restart ohs1 or not (opmnctl status is telling me it's Alive), it is still not showing as Up in EM. Looking at the link, there really aren't instructions past 'restart the process' so I'm at a loss. I even changed the file mod_wl_ohs.conf just in case to this:
    LoadModule weblogic_module "${ORACLE_HOME}/ohs/modules/mod_wl_ohs.so"
    <IfModule weblogic_module>
    WebLogicHost oiftest.hcmlabs.net
         WebLogicPort 7001
         ConnectTimeoutSecs 10
    ConnectRetrySecs 2
    Debug ALL
    WLLogFile /home/oracle/hcmapps/Oracle/Middleware/asinst_1/diagnostics/logs/OHS/ohs1/weblogic.log
    DebugConfigInfo ON
    WLSocketTimeoutSecs 2
    WLIOTimeoutSecs 300
    Idempotent ON
    FileCaching ON
    KeepAliveSecs 20
    KeepAliveEnabled ON
    DynamicServerList ON
    WLProxySSL OFF
    </IfModule>
Again, this is to no avail.
So it seems like ohs1 is up and running, but cannot be accessed by EM for some reason (maybe EM is trying to access it via an incorrect IP address instead of the host name).

  • Event Log Location

If you are running the E-Business suite (management portion anyway) on win32, can Oracle events be captured by reviewing standard NT event logs or is there an Oracle specific location for events of note ? I am sure that major Oracle events might be written to the NT event log, but I am interested in more subtle events in addtion to the catastrophic.
    Thanks

    Hi Jose,
Nice article on the Exchange correlation engine.
Based on 1 point mentioned in the article there was a Point there:
The Exchange 2010 Management Pack doesn't raise alerts that correspond to the health of your Exchange environment when the Correlation Engine is stopped. If the Correlation Engine is stopped,
a general alert is raised to notify you that the Correlation Engine isn’t running.
I need to pull my alert history and the event id for the above alert, need to check if there was any alert for the correlation service stopping / stooped when this event appeared in the event log on my exchange server.

  • Get current event in iCal

I'm trying to create a script that would run as a trigger to set my away message in Adium to currentEventName - eventLocation
Theoretically, my code works, and it does... sometimes. I figure there is some bug in it I'm just missing. Any help would be appreciated. Note that this has to work for for repeated items. I have cut the date off at the minute since the date and time has to be exact - unless of course you know of a way to fix this. Thanks. Below is the code.
    set myEvent to "Unknown Event"
--gets the current date minus the time
set curDate to (weekday of (current date)) & ", " & month of (current date) & ¬
    " " & day of (current date) & ", " & year of (current date) as string
set curTime to round ((time of (current date)) / 60) rounding down
set curHour to round (curTime / 60) rounding down
set curMin to curTime mod 60
    --fixes the 0 problem
    if curMin < 10 then
set curMin to "0" & curMin as string
    end if
    if curHour > 12 then
    set today to curDate & " " & curHour - 12 & ":" & curMin & ":00 PM" as string
    else
    set today to curDate & " " & curHour & ":" & curMin & ":00 AM" as string
    end if
--today should now be the correct time without the seconds
    set today to date today
    tell application "iCal"
repeat with i from 1 to count of every calendar
if myEvent is "Unknown Event" or myEvent is {} then
set myEvent to (summary of every event of calendar i whose start date is today)

    end repeat
    end tell
    if myEvent is {} then
    set myEvent to "Unknown Event"
--display dialog "No event on " & today
    end if
if myPlace is {} then set myPlace to "Unknown location"

Apparently, it works even faster if executed from iCal (as opposed to running with the events tab closed).
There were a couple of minor bug fixes, but I've tested it on a fake repeated event, and will see if it really works tomorrow.

  • Opening an ICS file doesn't open event in iCal

Opening an ICS file in Apple Mail no longer opens the event in iCal. I don't recall the last time it worked but I know, in the past, double clicking an ICS file in Apple Mail would open the actual event iCal so you could see and modify it. Now, the only thing that happens is iCal opens........and you then have to manually locate the event.
I have the option to Automatically Add invitations to iCal and that is working but I have quite a few users that want the previous functionality back. I know we can use the Quick Look Attachment option and see the event details but that's not as convenient as simply double clicking and going straight to the event.
I'm seeing this problem with 10.6 and 10.7.

Having the same problem here - it's driving me nuts!
I tried installing YAI, but I can't make it point to the correct calendar. I can cut and paste an event into the Google Calendar, but if it's an outlook invite it will delete the event on all the attendee's computers.

  • Is it possible to enter events into a specific iCal calendar, then print a list of those events with the name and date on a single sheet?

Is it possible to enter events into a specific iCal calendar, then print a list of those events with the name and date on a single sheet?  I don't need the calendar grid.  I just want a list of events on a particular calendar, and their dates.  Is that possible?

    Not easily. Two possibilities:
    1) If all the events have some common feature (eg you have included "XXX" in all the summaries), search for that feature then select and copy the found items at the bottom of the window. You can then paste them into TextEdit or a spreadsheet for printing
    2) You could write an Applescript to locate the events and write them into a text file for printing.
The first one will probably give you what you want.

  • HT204410 Photos not allowing to add or edit location data

The new Photos app does not allow location data to be edited or added.
For those users who own a camera without a GPS, there is no way to add the location data to the photos which defeats the purpose of having the map function if some/most/all of your photos can't be included.
I spent a great deal of time updating my locations, using the Location Manager, in iPhoto only to find that they have been replaced with simplified locations.  For example, Waterworld has been replaced with a Suburb/State location.
The new app has severe limitations compared to iPhoto.  As bad as iPhoto was, these limitations make it extremely hard to work with.
Apart from the location issue above, photos can only be sorted by name.  In Event view, any new events are added to the bottom of the list.  Faces are ordered by, what appears to be, the number of photos associated with the face.  So when your adding faces from the suggested faces, one has to look closely at the faces to find the face to associate the photo with.  If the library contains a lot of Faces, then this can be a difficult task.  Also, when selecting faces from the Suggested Faces list, multiple faces cannot be selected and each photo has to be moved, or ignored, individually.
I had a smart list which showed all of the un-named faces but that has gone and there doesn't seem to be a way to show all of the photos with named faces other than to go through each photo individually.

    Thanks for your reply.
If I have to use iPhoto, then that begs the question: Why would I want to upgrade to the new app?
It's not a good situation to have to use the old app (iPhoto) just to geotag my photos.
When I refer to the sorting issue, I had the sidebar visible.  When not using the sidebar, the organisation is still not very good.  For instance, to find my wedding photos, I must  locate the event by drilling down through the years, collections etc.  Or to view ALL of the photos taken at my house is now impossible as the location is now the same as my child's school!
As for the date sorting, I can't change it so that the most recent appear at the top.  I must scroll down.
It's a terrible app given what iPhoto used to provide.  I'm using it on my desktop, not a mobile phone.  What applies to memorial doesn't, nor should, be applied to my desktop as there are quite different constraints.
By all means, have continuity (or whatever they call it), but don't constrain the desktop app to the capabilities of a mobile.  It's just plain silly!

    · If the event is enabled with subscriptions and that is giving some error message, it means that the user is trying to update the location and he is doing something wrong. Is this correct?
    · If I disable the subscription from the production will that create any problem?
    Kindly expecting your suggestion
