Location of files transferred by Bluetooth

Probably a dumb question here, but I don't know where the find the files that I transfer to our Macs via Bluetooth. In which folder are they located? I'm having trouble finding them.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks.
Chris

They're usually located in the current users 'Documents' folder, unless you've told it to put them elsewhere.
Easiest way to find them is click on the little magnifying glass icon in the incoming Bluetooth File Transfer window after the file has copied.

If your iPad is not switching on then try a reset : press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for about 10 seconds when the Apple logo should appear (you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot).

  • How to set up for file transfers via Bluetooth

    Hi all,
I have a blackberry bold 9000 which I need to set up to transfer some pics, etc to another phone (not a Blackberry) When I try to connect from the other phone it says
"You can't connect with target device because it lacks of the File Transfer Profile (OBEX FTP) and/or the Object Push Profile (OBEX OPP) Bluetooth services"
Can anyone tell me how to get these??
The other phone is a HTC Magic.
    Thanks in advance.

Which device is the "target" device?  From what you describe it sounds like the HTC is the target device and that would be an issue with that device, not the BB.

iTunes cannot find your music files. Find them on your computer and make sure they're in ~/Music/iTunes. If they are not, then drag all the files into the iTunes app.

  • N72 - locate receiving files via Bluetooth

N72 - I can't locate receiving files via Bluetooth to the location I need

    I'm afraid not.
This is the safties way, when you receive some files via BT. You should have control over it. In otherway someone can place some unwanted, dangerous file e.g. virus.
You can decide, delete it or record, and where. But notice, that when you open such a BT message, phone recognise art of file and prompt you where it store.

  • Easier file transfers from PC to Mac with Bluetooth

After trying in vain to get a network connection between my PC and Mac (lots of problems I don't need to get into), I realized I could use a spare DLink Bluetooth adapter on my PC to connect to my bluetooth-enabled MacBook Pro.
I am now able to send files back and forth between the computers, but it's a tedious process.
Is there anyway with Bluetooth to create a shared visible folder on one of the computers and to do file transfers by dragging and dropping?

  • BT for PC-PC file transfers (1.1 2.0)?

Would Bluetooth work well to transfer files and sync a MacBook (BT2.0) and an iMac G5 fitted with a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth adapter (1.1)? Or should I just rely on my old home network for faster transfer rates or reliability?
    Thanks in advance.

OK, I see on Apple's on site that BT is best for only very small file transfers.

  • Songs in my itunes don't play anymore.  It says it can't locate original files.  HELP please.

The songs in my itunes no longer play.  I have never had this problem before.  I was trying to update playlists, etc. and the songs were not transferring to my Iphone.  The error message for every song is that the original file cannot be located.  It asks if you want to locate file.  I press yes, but it says that it is not available.  Does anyone know how to either locate the files or reinstall the music.

  • Fastest? Relocate Masters or Finder move with Locate referenced files

I have maxed out the 2 x 1TB drives in my MP dedicated to referenced masters, and I'm about to consolidate them onto a new 2 x 2TB drive setup. My question is which is the fastest solution for moving 1.5 TB of images on my current setup onto one of the new 2TB drives.
FYI, the new HDD is now connected via eSATA to an external housing, with write speeds of around 100 MB/sec. Once all data is transferred and relinked, I'll open the case and swap out the new drives internally for the old 1TB ones.
    Is it fastest to?
    1. Use Aperture's "Relocate Masters" fucntion. My question is how much extra overhead is involved with doing this via Aperture?
    2. Do a Finder copy of the files, then once they are moved open Aperture and use the "Locate Referenced Files" to reconnect the images to the new HDD.
Has anyone done any speed tests on this? I have about 80,000 refernced images, so I'd like to cut the file transfer time down as much as possible.

Select a batch of images, and go into +Locate Referenced Files+ - just the same as doing one at a time. Match up one image from your batch with the file and then, instead of hitting the <Reconnect> button, hit the <Reconnect All> button.
Do a small batch initial until you get the hang of it, and then make a bigger selection and go and have a cup of tea...
Here's an [earlier description|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11334896#113348 96] I gave of this process with some background details of how I handled it first time around.

  • HT4796 I Can't find the files transferred to my mac from my PC  through migration assistant

    Hi All,
I am just learning the ropes as regards tha Macbook Pro. I transfered my data from my windows PC to the Mac through the Migration Assistant. And Now, I can't locate where it was transfered to. Please where do I locate these files? Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Migration Assistant creates a new user with the migrated files. Go to  > Log Out, and log in the other user, so you will access to your files.
This can be voided if you transfer your files during the initial setup. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html

  • Locating souce file error? and purchase history deleted for some reason?

I have purchased serveral albums (nearly $500 estimated), and since I upgraded my computer, I cannot find the purchase history. I wanted to re-download the songs from a certain artist as it keeps coming up 'error, unable to locate source file' even though they worked before I tried to copy them into a playlist for burning.have severa
After I got the new computer, all of my stuff was transferred from the old one. This meant that I had several of the same song in my list before the update. After the update happened, these duplicates dissappeared, and I was left with trying to re-download the albums that I had bought from iTunes store from the cloud.
I had confirmation of one album being downloaded correctly, the rest need to be re-downloaded. Unfortunatley, as I cannot access my purchasing history, I am unable to download the rest from the cloud.
The support network wants a serial number and the only apple product I have is my shuffle. When I give the serial number for my shuffle, it then wants $20 in order to troubleshoot my problem over the phone.
The customer support is terrible, confusing, and they want you to PAY for help for problems in THEIR PRODUCT, which was bought under the understanding that it would be problem-free.
Anyone else see the problem with this?
More importantly, can anyone please help me?

    Found a solution.
Had to go through my internet browser in order to restore my purchasing history in iTunes.
Now I have to re-delete the duplicate songs in my list again.....
My songs from a certain artist still come up 'error unable to locate source file'.
    This really bites

  • OS X File Transfers Very Slow

I have noticed slow file transfers is previous versions of OS X however in Yosemite I have started experiencing a severely slow transfer problem.
    First my setup:
MacBooK Pro Running OS X Yosemite (Latest Version) with 500GB SSD (390GB Free) and 8GB RAM
Mackbook Pro Gigabit Port to Gigabit Network Switch to NAS also Gigabit.
NAS is Western Digital MyBookLiveDuo Operating in RAID 1.  Contains standard HDD which is slowest point.
    Second the transfer:
iPhoto Library located on NAS is 13GB is size.
Typically I have in the past with the exact same setup transferred this in under 10 mins.
It has now been 1 hour size starting the transfer and it is still Preparing to copy >73,000 items.
In activity monitor the CPU is practically idle, there is next to no disk activity, RAM has 2GB free and network utility is <300KB/s send and recieve.
I understand with new software comes new bugs, but this is an old issue from what I can tell getting worse.  Has anyone else had/having this issue or has anyone found a solution to this?  Your feedback here will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Adam.

The problem is high latency in the NAS, not low bandwidth. If the filing protocol is SMB, you might get better results by forcing a CIFS connection instead. To do that, first disconnect from the file server, then select
              Go ▹ Connect to Server
from the Finder menu bar, or press the key combination command-K. Then enter
    cifs://server-address
in the dialog that opens, where server-address is the IP address or domain name of the server.
Otherwise, you're dealing with a limitation of the device. People have tried tweaking all kinds of network parameters, usually with little success. See below.

  • Problems with File Transfers Over Firewire 800

Problems with File Transfers Over Firewire 800.
Over the past month, I have had problems when transfering files from my harddrive, over Firewire 800 to a portable drive. I usually transfer very large files (20gb or more) to the portable drives for moving files around. When I drag a file over to copy onto a drive, the transfer starts normally. If I drag more files to copy over, the computer screen goes darker and a large icon comes up that looks like a power button icon. It tells me to restart, so I have to do a hard shut down on my G5. Weird. I also get the dark screen of death sometimes when I am transfering those large files and open another application to do some work while it's copying. It's killing me. I am having to sit here and wait for the transfer to finish before I can do anything.
    Any thoughts...

  • Problem with Jabber and file transfers WAN - LAN-Users - a solution!

    Hi,
I read a lot of messages about problems with file transfers between iChat-Users, if one (or both) are behind a NAT.
I had this problem to and found an easy solution:
    My situation
iChat-Server behind a Netgear ProSafe FireWall. I opened the needed Ports including Port 7777 (the Port for the iChat-proxy (proxy65).
The iChat-Server is configured to host the domain "server.ourdomain.com" (as an example).
This address can be reached from the LAN and also from the WAN-side.
From the LAN-side the DNS redirects to 192.168.1.1, from the WAN this domain redirects to our official IP-address (the WAN-IP of the FireWall).
I tried nearly all kinds of mentioned solutions, but nothing helped.
The really easy solution is: I just added our official IP to the "Hosted Domains" in the iChat-section of Server-Admin.
After that change, the transfers are made via the proxy65 of iChat-Server. The transfers are shown in the log /private/var/jabberd/log/proxy65.log.
I think, that the other posters who also have this kind of problem are working in a similar setup (domain name of server is used from the LAN AND the WAN-side with different IP-addresses (LAN-IP & WAN-IP).
This solution will only work, if the WAN-IP is a fixed address.
