Location of HDMI port on a Touchsmart 600 PC

A technician from the cable company once said that we should buy an HDMI cable to run from the PC to the cable box. I see the HDMI port on the cable box, but don't see such a port on the PC. Does anyone know if an HDMI port exists on the Touchsmart 600, and if so, how to access the port? Thanks.

Many later models have HDMI ports but they are IN ports.

  • Hdmi port not working on HP Pavilion g7-2240us Notebook PC

I can't get my HDMI port on my on HP Pavilion g7-2240us Notebook PC to work... Can someone please help me? (it's windows 8)

This is ridiculous - the number of hits that come up for "Pavilion g7 HDMI not working" is astounding; yet finding a useful answer, or anything resembling a useful answer other than a document that instructs 4-yr olds on how to locate an HDMI port, is impossible.
HAS ANYONE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS?  Or is this a rampant model-wide issue that HP would rather not acknowledge?

  • WiFi on TouchSmart 600-1350

I have a wireless network in my home and my desktop (HP TouchSmart 600-1350 Desktop PC) was connected to it and now it is not.
I have tried enable the wireless network (not found), I have disabled the ethernet connection (which there is no place to connect an ethernet to my desktop), and I have restarted my router and still nothing.
I have other comptuers and devices on this wifi network and they are all working fine.
    How do I fix this?

    Hello AngelicMarine:
You reinstalled the software and drivers for the 802.ll LAN wireless . It still does not work. Things as you know eventually burn out. This means your wireless card is bad. No they are not easy to replace. Where you able to locate the port for internet cable?  If so then that's  is all you can use untill you call HP Direct Support and have them replace the wireless card and service your computer for any upcomimng hardware failers. I would not trust a thrid party computer repair shop breaking down the computer. To much is envolved just getting to Lan module one mishap could damaged your motherboard or bazel screen.  Yes you are out of warranty the HP Derect Support will give you a set price for the replacing the Lan module it comes with a 1 year waranty. This is the good part if your computer comes back with any kind damages to it.  HP has to and will fix them free of charge.
My HP Touchsmart 600-1050 went in for a motherboard replacement the computer was returned to me damaged it had deep scratches in the bazzel screen and the touch screen was not working in sections so they had to replace it also the back support leg was cracked.  They spent more money on this computer then what it is worth just in parts alone.  Another poster is in the process of getting a new computer because HP Direct Support damaged it beyond repairs. Rember to always ask to speak to supper visors and do as little with phone tech operators . I am not allow to post HP's contacts here in forom moderators hate it. When call HP Direct support dial extension 79 ask to speak with the CTO, He will see to it that your computer is fixed.
These computers are nothing like the old computers were like. It's bad enough just replacing the Optical drive . Have you ever removed the back cover of your computer?  The Lan module is at the bottom and the antenna for it is near the web-cam.  That's a lot of layers to break down lots of tiny screws and parts to  remove and put back not an easy task.

  • I can not conect to my TV using HDMI ports.

?i can not conect my touchsmart 600 to my TV using HDMI ports. Do anyone knows how to fix the problem?

HP TouchSmart 600 refers to over 200 different computer models.
When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the back or bottom of your computer. Please do not include your serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Most HP TouchSmart computers do not have HDMI inputs or outputs. Typically, the few that have an HDMI port have an HDMI input for video player or game console input. You may need to purchse and use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 (or any of the many other adapters on the market) to connect an external display to your computer. I personally use and recommend the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39.

  • Any one know how to use TouchSmart 600-1055 blu-ray to output to TV?

I just bought TouchSmart 600-1055 with blu-ray today.  Any one know how to output video and audio to larger TV?

If it is anything like the 600-1265qd, you may need to purchase a USB adapter to connect to a DVI or HDMI port on the TV.  However, there are no HDCP-compatible USB connectors...

  • HP TouchSmart 600-1070a lockup from overheating?

    I'm repairing a Touchsmart 600-1070a that has suffered a fall from its desk (damaged the on/off switch, but that's fixed), already replaced the HDD which had bad sectors.  There appears to be a lot of  cumulative small hiccups including;
    * sometimes will not even bring up the screen on powerup, remains black despite the fans running, power-LED on.
I suspect this was a gfx module issue or connector issue, as I loosened and forced the GFX module back into its connector and then unlocked and reseated the LVDS graphics lead and it -seems- to have solved the issue for now.
    * when running, will intermittently crash Win7 and at which point the chipset heatsink region is exceptionally hot (about 50'C) and that is with the metal backing plate still attached.
For this, I'm not sure what approach to take.  There's a substantial gapping between the heatsink for this chipset and the metal enclosure which is filled by a thermal-carrier pad.  My suspicion is that the pressure of the rear-stand against the metal backing actually forces the chassis-pad-heatsink to bond, but I'm thinking now that the pad probably is due to be replaced as or another option sorted out as things are just getting too hot
Anyone else encountered a similar problem?
The  GPU and CPU radiators have all been cleaned out with compressed air / brush and are working fine.
(picture showing the exposed mainboard without the metal backing enclosure.  The heatsink in question is the orange one located at the center of the mainboard just near the memory.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I placed a layer of thermal transfer padding that is normally used between transistors/MOSFETs and heatsinks, about 1mm thick, on top of the orange heatsink - seems to have now settled the system down, played a full length DVD and YouTube video concurrently without crashing.
    So now we have  chip|heatsink|transfer-padding|pale-transfer-thick-padding|metal-backing.
A little bit more active cooling would have been nice in the form of a fan somewhere, but so long as it doesn't crash I suppose.   Metal enclosure is about 49'C around the location of the heatsink now.

  • I will be using a HDMI cable to connect an Apple TV box and a Comcast cable TV box to my TV. My TV has only one HDMI port.

I will be using a HDMI cable to connect an Apple TV box and a Comcast cable TV box to my TV. My TV has only one HDMI port.
To do this I will need a 2x1 HDMI splitter or a 2x1 HDMI auto switch (preferred).
?Is there any Apple TV HDMI port voltage?
When using a HDMI auto switch to connect two devices to a HDMI TV, the
Auto switch cable box only works for components that do not output continuous voltage over HDMI port when turned off.
Do you know of any other solutions? Componets? Actual expierances?
    Full text below.
Cable : HDMI switches expand the number of available HDMI ports on a high definition television allowing connection of cable boxes, Blu-ray players, and game consoles. A side benefit is that cable clutter is also eliminated by running a single HDMI cable to your HDTV from a switch and relocating the HDMI ports to a concealed location. The problem with most HDMI switches is that you have to either get up to push a button, or hunt for the remote control, to switch sources. The true mark of any great switching component is an ability to perform its function and remain transparent in its operation. This automatic HDMI switch is a plug-and-play away from offering everything you are looking for in an HDMI switch. Select a single output from up to three devices for signal delivery to your HDTV. Smart operation provides complete control for connect-and-forget operation. Powering on a device gives it output priority over the other devices. By powering down the device in use, output priority is returned to the last powered on device. Note: Auto switch function only works for components that do not output continuous voltage over HDMI port when turned off.

  • HP TouchSmart 600-1055 Screen Flickering/Short?

Being a PC tech, I've had my share of TouchSmarts to work on however, I have a certain issue I could use help on. When powered on, this TouchSmart's screen is flickering wildly with white washout color (like it's shorting) with no rhyme or reason. Now I've most likely narrowed it down to a few things 1) bad inverter 2) faulty MB connect 3) bad panel or 4) bad motherboard. Don't believe a video card would do this. I also checked an HDMI output and switched it over, but just get a triangle with an exclamation point signifying no signal out.
Unfortunetely, this model has a rather lengthy and involved process to get to this part of the PC, so I was wondering if a possible HP tech may have seen this activity and can narrow it down. Our customer doesn't want to throw away (at the time $1,300) this otherwise perfect running PC.
Any suggestions as to the faulty part, cost of part and/or the HP service/replacement cost.
    Thanks
    D

Here are the original factory specs for the HP TouchSmart 600-1055 Desktop. According to the specs the HDMI, composite, and S-Video connectors are for INPUT only. My guess would be either a bad CCFL (lamp) or a bad inverter, but other things could be the issue. Here is the HP PartSurfer parts list for the computer.

  • How do I set up HP TouchSmart 600-1215xt with TV Tuner to Digital cable set top box?

I just purchased the HP TouchSmart 600-1215xt CTO Desktop PC with TV Tuner ATSC-NTSC w PVR & remote. I want to connect it to my  HDTV cable set top box (Cox Cable) so I can record TV programs from digital cable and stream NetFlix  video to my 52 in Samsung 1080p HDTV. Where can I find instructions for how to configure this set up?
    Thanks in advance!

    skentsmi wrote:
There is HDMI input with TV tuner
To expand on my post above, the TV tuner does NOT have HDMI input. If you read the User Guide that came with the TouchSmart (p.7, 8), the TV tuner's input is actually an F-type coaxial -- you either use an antenna for an ATSC signal (over-the-air) or NTSC *analog* cable (which is become more rare all the time). You set it up using Windows Media Center, page 18 through to top half of page 22 document how to connect a set top box using various analog (composite or s-video) cables. You can not use component and you can not use HDMI.

How can I connect my 3gen apple tv with HDMI to my BUSH LCD32TV022HD
This does not have an HDMI port but does have:-
    1) S-Video I/P,
    2) Video I/P,
    3) Audio Input (Left & Right)
    4) Audio In jack (for VGA and DVI source)
    5) DVI input
    6) VGA input

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The Apple TV doesn't officially support a DVI connection, however you may be able to get it to work. You will first need to check that your TV supports either 720p or 1080p as well as HDCP. If you are able to get the video working over the DVI connection, you may also require a DAC in order to connect with Apple TV's optical audio output to the TVs audio imput.
You may well wish to make sure that the DVI connection works before spending any money on a DAC..
