Location of upgrade log file

Hello,
Does anybody know where I can find the log that is created when an upgrade to 8.8 takes place please? You have the option during the upgrade to look at the log file but i need to take a look at it now that the upgrade has finished.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You will find the available files:

However, you can also review them directly on the hard disk.

Warnings in the Upgrade Log file for OBIEE 11G from 10G

Hi,
I am new to OBI 11g.
I have installed simple type OBI 11g (version - 11.1.1.5.0) on a single server(Windows 2003, RAM-4GB,CPU-2.8GHz Dual Core ). I used upgrade assistant to upgrade the RPD & Webcat from 10.1.3.4.1 version to 11g, but I got about 50K warnings in the upgarde log file for the web catalog. They were basically 2 types as below -
1. [2012-02-24T13:17:48.255-05:00] [BIEE] [WARNING] [] [upgrade.BIEE] [tid: 14] [ecid: 0000JMk1k3lDkZKcyToYpk1FHuer000005,0] Invalid columnID reference 'c10' in views!
Does someone know this warning and if this requires a fix or it would not impact any reports or dashboards? This error is about 25K times in the upgrade log file.

I have checked this error on Oracle support web and it says that this warning is fine as there have been some features in 10G that would not be in the OBI 11G and are not required. I am still not convinced why there should be any warning for this type of issue.
Please let me know if someone has faced these warnings in when doing the upgrade of the 10g RPD and Webcat to 11g together.
Just as note, the services start fine and I could login to the application with users and see the dashboards and reports although I did not check all the dashboards and reports as this is a POC before doing the actual upgrade.

Demantra upgrade log file

In Demantra implementation guide, it said when you add a new level, it will be logged in upgrade log file, please refer below copied from implementation guide,
When a new level is created, the upgrade process:
• Creates default methods for this level including New, Edit, Delete, View
• Add this level to loading procedures
• Adds a line to the upgrade log file: 'Level XXX added to model'.
What I want is where is the upgrade log file, I searched the whole demantra desktop directory, no lucky, please help, thanks
also, when I delete one level from business modeler, run upgrade the model, sometimes, the model crashed. anyone have some practise on this, what are the correct steps that can delete a level from business modeler clean, both delete the level and the t_ep_xxx table, thanks a lot

Login to the portal.
Go to java development->Tools->Portal Log Viewer->here all of your log files will be displayed.
or you can search your logs by giving the search criteria in the search input field.

Need help to figure out default location of import log file

I imported the dmp file using the following command
$ imp <name>/<password> file=<pathname> FULL=Y
I got the following message after completion
"import terminatted sucessfully with warnings"
Can anyone help me where the log files would be put and what could be the probable name of log file.

Upgrade log file in MaintenanceLogs library breaks content deployment

I have two SharePoint 2013 farms: authoring and publishing target. Content deployment jobs are used to push changes from authoring. This has been working just fine until I applied the latest updates. The upgrade process create a log
files in the _catalog/MaintenanceLogs library. The Content Deployment process wants to deploy this list now. Since it already exists on the target, the import fails.
Has anyone run into this? Is there any way to tell Content Deployment to not export this? There's really no reason to publish this library. Any way to delete it on the target so it just gets re-created?

Where is the Scheduler log file located?

I'm trying to track down and diagnose this error in my scheduling/bursting:
Error!! Could not deliver the output for Delivery channel: EMAIL. Please check the Log for error details...
But a search of my entire drive does not reveal any file with a .log extension that has been updated recently, nor do I see a reference to the location of said log file anywhere in the documentation.
Where is the log file to which this error message is referring? Running the OBIEE Suite 10.1.3.4.1 under Windows.

Log file location settings

Is it possible to change the log file locations, both master log file (from hyperion_home\essbase\essbase.log) and individual application log files (from their respective applicaiton folders), to some completely different locations. If yes, then what are the files that need to be configured or what settings need to be done for that. Thanks a lot...

I like the idea, but I don't believe there are any settings for this (unless they are undocumented, and I doubt it).Perhaps you could do something in the O.S. to cause a replication or redirection to occur. Seems feasible, at least.

Edited by: user10243788 on Apr 25, 2010 6:12 AMPointing the archive log dest (and/or the FRA) to a new location, or enlarging them, will do no good if you are not performing regular housekeeping on the archivelogs. You will just keep knocking down the same problem over and over.
If you simply delete the archivelogs at the OS level, the database will never know about it and it will continue to think the destination is full, based on records kept in the control file.
For regular housekeeping, you need to be doing something similar to this in rman:
run {
backup archivelog all not backed up 1 times tag='bkup_vlnxora1_arch';
delete noprompt archivelog all backed up 1 times to device type disk;
run {
delete noprompt obsolete;
crosscheck archivelog all;
delete noprompt expired archivelog all;

Problem in creating database -Missing Redo log file

I am try to create a new database using DBCA .While creating a database it shows the error oracle instance terminated.Force Disconnected.

DROP and recreate the database. It is a *new* database without any data.
Check what datafile locations and redo log file locations you specify when creating the new database. Check if you have permissions and enough disk space.
