  • Troubleshooting Enlightenment Using Log Files

    Thanks for your time.
I have deleted ~/.xinitrc and installed a fresh version of Enlightenment (window manager) and re-run startx which gives me the vanilla X console environment, from there I try to run "enlightenment_start" and I'm getting the following:
ERR<>e_randr_12.c:214 safety check failed: E_RANDIR_12_NO_MODE(mode) is true
ERR<>e_randr_12_output.c:196 safety check failed: outputs == NULL
Are these errors indications of something more deeply wrong in the system?  What?
PS: New topic was for the overly broad nature of the last one, this better summarizes a well-thought out "smart" approach to asking questions I think.

Should I post this as a bug?  Is it useful to note that the "enlightenment" logo does show up but then the blue subtext changes (too quickly for me to notice what happened) and then the screen goes pitch black (not just "in x mostly black but also sort of gray" but completely as if it were off) and then I come back and press a key and I'm in E.

  • OSB log file location

    OSB log file location
Where can I see the OSB logs if I use Report -> log action?
Can somebody give me the name and location of the log file?

Figured this out. It writes to weblogic admin server log:
    eg:

  • Where is the Scheduler log file located?

I'm trying to track down and diagnose this error in my scheduling/bursting:
Error!! Could not deliver the output for Delivery channel: EMAIL.  Please check the Log for error details...
But a search of my entire drive does not reveal any file with a .log extension that has been updated recently, nor do I see a reference to the location of said log file anywhere in the documentation.
Where is the log file to which this error message is referring? Running the OBIEE Suite 10.1.3.4.1 under Windows.
    Thanks!

    Hi Mthompson,
Look at this on how to create the log file.
    http://winrichman.blogspot.com/search/label/xdodebug
am sure, you did not create the email/smtp configuration, thats why you see this error.

  • When using wusa.exe to install MSU update package and enabling logging using the /log switch, what format are the log files in?

I have been installing a number of hotfixes for Windows 7 using MSU files and the wusa.exe utility included in Windows. I thought it would be a good idea to generate separate log files for each update as it was installed since wusa.exe now supports this
option using /log:<file name>. However, the log files created do not seem to be regular text files or any other log file format that I immediately recognize. When opened in Notepad or Wordpad you can see that they contain a lot of additional binary data
which can't be read by a regular text viewer.
Does anyone know what format these log files are in? What tool should you use to read them?

Only Microsoft can manage to design something as stupid as this. If you start wusa from the command line, it pops up the alternative command line switches. For log, it just says: " /log     - installer will enable logging". It doesn't say that you
should specify the log file name, hence not HOW you specify it (" /log:<path\filename>.") It doesn't say what extension to use for the file, alas which file type it is (" /log:<path\filename.evtx>."). You open it in notepad, you cannot read it.
You open it in sccm's cmtrace.exe/trace32.exe, you get nothing. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT THIS IN A WORSE WAY. How can something be so bad? How can Microsoft get such stupidity inhouse, when you need to go through six interviews or something to get in??
I cannot believe it - unfortunely, this is seen again and again.

  • Log file location settings

Is it possible to change the log file locations, both master log file (from hyperion_home\essbase\essbase.log) and individual application log files (from their respective applicaiton folders), to some completely different locations. If yes, then what are the files that need to be configured or what settings need to be done for that. Thanks a lot...

I like the idea, but I don't believe there are any settings for this (unless they are undocumented, and I doubt it).Perhaps you could do something in the O.S. to cause a replication or redirection to occur. Seems feasible, at least.

  • Can I monitor a Log file using EMGC 10.2.0.2?

    Hi,
I am thinking of monitoring my web application log file using EMGC by creating a generic service is that possible. Now we are using some shell scripts to do that but its bit difficult to maintain all these shell scripts on each of the host. Is there any in built in mechanism that enable me to monitor the log file and when a perticular pattern match I would like to send a email notification to concerned people say application admins if there is no out of box option for this do we have plugins to do this. please let me know the possibility of implementing this using EMGC or extencibility plug-ins.
    Ashok Chava.

    Hi,
I have used "Log File Pattern Matched Line Count" of host to monitor the log files and below is the pattern I have defined for the log file. But i could not find any alerts even there are so many such exceptions in the log file matching the patteren given in EMGC.
    /u01/app/oracle/product/IAS904/sysman/log/emias.log;%oracle.sysman.emSDK.util.jdk.EMException;%
I have even add the log file in agent_home/sysman/config/lfm_ifiles file as given in the documentation but I could not see any alerts as expected am I doint anything wrong in my setup.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,

DROP and recreate the database.  It is a *new* database without any data.
Check what datafile locations and redo log file locations you specify when creating the new database. Check if you have permissions and enough disk space.

  • Log.0000000001: log file open failed

I have been seeing an error off and on recently where my app will go along just fine writing to dbxml - and then for no apparent reason, blow up with
log.0000000001: log file open failed: No such file or directory
PANIC: No such file or directory
When I go look - there is indeed no log.00000001 in my dbxml directory.
What is the story with log.00000001? When is it created? What would cause this creation to fail. I have seen this problem on both an XP system and a Unix system.
I think I have made this problem go away by manually creating an empty log.0000001 file before I start my app - but this seems bogus.
    Any tips appreciated

    Hi,
If you have multiple applications or processes using Berkeley DB XML (including our utility programs) you may have set up a separate log directory for your log files or they simply were created in another directory. For this reason you may want to consider using a DB_CONFIG file and setting the location for your log files there.
For more information about this please look at these references:
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/ref/env/db_config.html
    DB_CONFIG
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/api_c/env_set_lg_dir.html
    http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/api_c/env_set_data_dir.html
An example for how to insert this information in a DB_CONFIG file is:
    set_data_dir datadir
    set_lg_dir logdir
