Wow. I have not seen that question nor a discussion. I agree with James. I don't think it will, and if the power drain is different, maybe it'll be less and not more.
With a 10 hour battery, you have plenty of time to test it and see. If the battery depletes fast, just go back to the other way.
If you do try it, let us know what you discover.
    Thanks ! !

  • HT201493 does this app drain your battery

Does anyone know if the "find my friends app drains your battery"?

Anything that uses 3G and GPS will have a noticeable impact. But in my experience when someone is looking for you it's quite respectful of battery usage. If you are looking for a friend that can't be found, it's more noticeable.
This is only anecdotal evidence though.

should i reset SMC... would it help?

I'm doubtful it's a missing driver too, but I feel as though it's driver related. The first time XP was installed, after first boot without installing drivers, it was without sound etc, but fundamentally the system worked. Now after first boot, it's very buggy. Thanks for your suggestion Tonny. I ran the tool but it turns out the HDD is fine. Besides, everything runs fine in safe mode.
Does anyone know if (generally speaking) there is any firmware on the graphics card that would get updated via a Windows update? i.e. is it possible that Windows update downloaded a driver for the graphics card that installed new firmware that wasn't all that compatable with XP?

  • Watch 3 minutes of any youtube video, phone reboot and drained my battery??? Please help....

Watch 3 minutes of any youtube video, phone reboot by itself and drained my battery full life??? Please help....
I have removed all applications, that still did not fix it. Then I did a clean swipe and that still did not fix that problem.

    Good morning Palam001,
I spend hours a day watching Youtube videos on my phone! It is one of my favorite pastimes! FYI, I don't do it at work though, just in case my boss is reading this! May I ask what device are you watching the Youtube videos on? Is it the blackberry curve that you have stated in your profile? Also, are you watching the videos directly from the website or from an app that was downloaded from blackberry app world?
There are a couple of options for you to try to get this issue resolved. If you are using a Youtube app or 3rd party app to watch the videos then I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app onto the device. If it's a 3rd party app then I recommend contacting the developer for additional assistance or to report the error, at the very least.
Another option is to perform software update/refresh on your blackberry. This can be done from a computer using the blackberry desktop manager. The process takes about 20-30 minutes if you already have the desktop manager installed. If you do not have the desktop manager installed then you can visit the link below to download it from blackberry's website.
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
From the link above, you can download the desktop manager for either PC or Mac. Once you have completed the software refresh, please retry the Youtube videos to see if the performance have improved. If not then please reply to this message for additional options to explore.
    Thank you...

  • My blackberry restarts itself and drains the battery

My blackberry restarts itself and drains the battery and I was wondering if there was a way to fix it without having to wipe the memory of my blackberry to do so?

Try taking the media card out and see if the restarting itself ceases.

  • Can some 1 help me, since yesterday when i bought this phone, my device very hot and drain my battery so fast

can some 1 help me, since yesterday when i bought this phone, my device very hot and drain my battery so fast, i've already turn off what ever i can , especially for time zone, but still drain my battery so fast, anybody know how to solve? my ios is new

I had the same problem and went to see the genius bar and they swapped it no problem. The heat is because the battery is draining fast not the other way round. iPhones do get hot sometimes but not always with fast battery drain. They have a powerful processor and no fan so they will get warm when thinking hard.

  • How do I get my Motorola S10 HD headset/Bluetooth to pair and become "discoverable".  It connects but continues to search and drains my battery.

I keep getting it to connect but the phone contines to search and drains battery.

Had same problem and solved it.
Speculation: It appears that the S10-HD can only remember one device at a time. So, every time you want to connect it to a new device, you have to erase the headset's memory of other devices.
    Solution:
Turn off the Bluetooth on all devices except the device you want to pair the headset with.  Then, with the headset turned on press the + and O buttons, (those are the volume-up and power button respectively), and hold until the LED is at a constant blue, (not a flashing blue, etc).  I found this is more easily done if you press the + button first, just as you would hold shift down first before typing a capital letter, (otherwise you may accidently turn off the headset). This erases the headset's memory of previous devices and puts it into discovery mode.   It will show up as "motorola" when you search for a discoverable headset through the Bluetooth preferences wizard.
Note: The headset will then forget your iPhone.  So if you want to connect it up with your iPhone again, you will have to go into the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone, select "forget device", and then pair again using the + - O trick again.

  • Version 4.1.6 of Google Play bug DRAINS your Battery!

Latest version of google play has issues of draining our battery. Here is article and link for a fix.
Download: Latest Google Play Store 4.1.10 With Location Bug Fixes

Thanks for this article!  I have been having huge battery problems for the past few days and thought it was the Samsung update that added the caller ID bloatware and multi window that lots of people are complaining about.  I updated the google play store and my battery immediately improved.  I tried every other fix that people had talked about with no results.  Made my day!

  • Is anyone else experiencing problems with Lion draining your battery?

Ever since installing Lion my battery will not re-chatge to 100% and immediately on boot up this OS starts to drain my battery quickly.

I don't have those problems with my iPhone 5.  It almost sounds like your headset isn't fully plugged in and you might be getting static from the cord rubbing against your clothing.  If you are generating a static charge, it is possible that static is being interpreted by the control channel (the volume buttons, or the play/pause button inline in the headset) as commands.  Does this happen with every headset, or just the one you are using now?
I use my iPhone 5 fairly heavily with the wired headset, and even a good bit with a Motorola S10HD  bluetooth headset.  I don't have the static issues with either, nor do I have problems with volume dropouts.
You might want to set an appointment with your local Apple Genius Bar to have them take a look.  If it is just the headset, they should replace it on the spot.  If it is more severe and a hardware issue with your specific iPhone 5s, they should be able to help you too.

  • My iPad will not power down.  It automatically restarts and drains the battery because it is on all the time.

My IPad will not power down and stay off.  It powers down and then restarts after a few seconds.  Since it is on all of the time, it drains the battery between uses.

Then I think it is time to take to an Apple store to be checked. Make an appointment at your closest store. You can keep it plugged in to maintain the battery until you get it checked.

  • Iphone app updates won't download. They are paused and draining my battery

I went today to download an update to one of my apps. Itunes asked for my password which I put in and everything was okay. Now there are about 40 apps that have been deleted that are showing that they are trying to install an update. Only they are paused and none of them are downloading and it is draining my battery. I don't want them to download to begin with, it was only supposed to be one update for an app. I am able to use the other functions on my phone, such as calls and texts. How do I fix this so either they all download or I get them to stop downloading?

I have done that a few times. I have even held down the top button and the bottom button at the same time and noting changes.
