Location Services in Reminders - Not Working

I'm having issues with my Location Services for my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.3. Whenever I try and tell Siri a command such as, "Remind me to grab my checkbook when I get home." Siri always responds, "Before I can do that, you'll need to enable Reminders on your iPhone's Location Services."
The problem is that I've enabled the Location Services on Reminders over and over and over again, and yet, anytime I try and get Siri to set up a reminder, it always disables the Location Services behind the scenes and gives the same response, "Before I can do that...".
I can manually input a request with Location Services for Reminders. It's only when I try and use Siri to set up a reminder, that I have any issues.
Anyone else

Responding to an old thread here, but this is because of the way applications that use location services also use the data from Skyhook...
Skyhook is a service that records the MAC addresses of Cell Base stations/towers and wireless access points.
Google Maps vehicles records the wireless AP data at the same time they get street view images.
There was some controversy over this - but they effectively record the location and the MAC address of any AP they find as they drive round. This gets sent to a massive database at Skyhook and is used to either locate without GPS or enhance/aid the GPS information. It's also why the location is always the road outside!
If your location/MAC relationship has not been mapped by Skyhook, Google or others - then the good news is that you can add it - although it can take a month or two at least - to work. The reason is that it depends which database is being used by Skyhook's clients..
Add your Wireless Access Point (or Wireless Router) here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php
The main website for Skyhook is here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com
Hope that helps...!

  • Ios 4.2.1 Location service of Maps not working offline

    after upgrade to ios 4.2.1. i just checked location service of Maps with cellular data 'off'/3g off/wifi off iphone was unable to drop pin to current location using maps application .is their any configuration change with this ios 4.2.1 upgrade?

    Turn off your wifi and your location service, but keep your cellular on, You will be able to find your coordinates on the map but not so accurate, You will miss even the rotate on the X axis, The only key player here is your LOCATION SERVICE under GENERAL, the location service works in 2D way, It locates your position according to X & Y axis, For sure this is with the help of the satellite, I have find my iPhone app and it does not interfere with the map app or any navigation app i have, All these app actually uses the LOCATION SERVICE if it's enabled. You can go ahead and turn off your cellular and your wifi but keep your location service on, you will find that on the map your phone will rotate when ever you rotate your phone in a 360 degrees circle, but you will miss the exact names and coordinates of your position, Cellular data gives you that, Names and addresses of where you are and location services gives or tells you where on earth you are.

    I've become increasingly frustrated with the ipad adobe app. I've subscribed to be able to convert my pdf files into word documents and it has yet to work I've paid for a service that does not work which in turn makes me a disgruntled customer to say the least very disappointed with such horrible service

    Which service did you subscribe to?  Adobe PDF Pack?
    Once I know the service that you subscribed to, I can move this post to the right forum so that you can get in touch with the folks who can assist you.

  • How do i enable locations services, after originally not allowing?

    how do i enable locations services, after originally not allowing?

    You have to go enable it under RESTRICTIONS first if you chose against it to begin with.... then you can alter it in the other places... So go to restrictions first, enable it, then you can go to the other places... like the icloud menu > share my location > enable it to share where you are.... or Privacy > Location Services > On.
    I think a big problem is you might have it on in one place and then not others and there are different menus for different places instead of just ONE place to enable any and all location settings.  That is what Apple does badly, they have too many settings split up between different menus.... its confusing.

  • Issue with Reminders not working when setting it to arrive or leave a location in iOS7.

    Hi all,
       Tried everything: Called support and reset All setting.  Made sure all "location settings" are set.  Restored via iTunes as a new phone, checked all setting again, set a reminder to remind me to get gas when I leave my home, and it never reminded me.  Also, doesn't remind when I arrive at a location.  I have tried this with my wifes phone (iPhone 5) and my daughters (iPhone 4) all running iOS7 and it doesn't work.  I never had this issue with iOS6. All other locations services like GPS, maps, & weather working fine.  I strongly believe it's a iOS7 bug. Has anyone else experianced this issue?

    In case you haven't seen this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5329723
    Jump to page 5. There is a solution by ben812 that initially worked for me, but after restarting my phone I was back to square one.
    I visited the local Genius Bar, and they claim they have not heard of this problem. Whether that is true or not, they know now. One of the employees confirmed that WiFi would need to be on, as the location service checks it first (before using GPS). Seems like a bug, but for now having WiFi on and leaving Reminders running in the background seems to solve the issue.
    I hope Cupertino addresses this in an upcoming iOS release.

  • Location based reminders not working in IOS8 on iphone 5s, please help?

    Location based reminders are not working when using Siri since upgrading to IOS8. Asking Siri to "remind me when I get home" also turns off reminders in Location Services. Please help

    I have the same issue with Siri turning off the location setting for reminders.  In fact my location based reminders do not work at all. IPhone 5s, ios 8.1, upgraded to 8.1.1 and that did not fix these issues.
    SEems like Apple does not test the location setting every other upgrade to iOS. They break it, then fix it then break it etc...

  • Location reminders not working..?

    Does anyone knows what is happening with location reminders in iOS7?
    As soon as you close the reminders app it just won't work...

    In iOS7, location-based reminders won't fire if the Reminders app is explicitly terminated by the user.
    That is if the user removes an application from the Multi-Tasking application list (brought up with a double-press of the Home button), iOS 7 will conclude that the user doesn't want this app to get any more run-time. That implies that Reminders won't be launched again to display your location-based reminders.
    The following is generally a good starting point to verify that Reminders will be able to fire location-based reminders:
    Settings > Privacy > Location Services
    Verify that the toggle for Reminders is ON and that a purple hollow location arrow is displayed next to it.
    This arrow may be solid if Reminders was provided the device's location within the last minute.
    Give a minute or so to this arow to give you the current location access status of this app.
    If the toggle is ON but you don't see the purple hollow location arrow next to it after one minute:
    - Verify that the following is ON for Reminders:
       Settings > General > Background App Refresh
    - Launch Reminders and keep it in the background by pressing the Home button.

  • Binding gateway service with List not working properly with expand

    Hi all,
    We have an orderlist with details, we use the splitapp for it, it's working nicely with a gatewayservice. We have now added with expand 2 orderpartners. I see the 2 partners, only is it completly the same data. I checked the oData structure and I see indeed that the 2 partners are the same. This is weird, because when I execute the service, via my browser, I see 2 different partners.
    If I execute the service directly via the read function, I see in the oData that I also have 2 different partners. So my conclusion is that the direct read of the service is working and executing the service via the sap.m.List is not working with the expand.
    Now my question is, does somebody know what's going wrong here, or is it a bug in the sap.m.List? Below you find code snippets how I call the service.
    This call is working:
    oModel.read("/OrderListSet", null, ["$orderby=BegTstmp asc&$filter=Userid eq 'user' and DateFrom eq datetime'2014-04-20T00:00:00' and DateTo eq datetime'2014-04-27T00:00:00'&$expand=OrderPartners"], null, function(oData, oResponse){
      }, null );
    The binding via the sap.m.list is:
    var oList = new sap.m.List("orderList", {
      mode: "{device>/listMode}",
                items: {
            path: "/OrderListSet",
               parameters: {expand: "OrderPartners"},
            template : new sap.m.StandardListItem({
            title: {
                   parts: [
                           {path: "BegTstmp", type: new sap.ui.model.type.DateTime({pattern: "H:mm"})},
                           {path: "DataCol2"}
                   formatter : function(strDate, strDescription) { return strDate + " - " + strDescription; }
            description: {
            parts: [
                          "DataCol3",
                          "DataCol4",
                          "DataCol5",
                          "DataCol6"
            type: sap.m.ListType.Navigation,
            icon: "{icon}",
            customData: [
            new sap.ui.core.CustomData({
            key: "orderId",
            value: "{Orderid}"
            new sap.ui.core.CustomData({
            key: "type",
            value: "{Type}"
            // Sort the list on date and group the list on day
                   sorter: new sap.ui.model.Sorter("BegTstmp", false, oGrouper),
                   // Filter the list, this directly refrenced to the gatewayservice
            filters: [
                     util.Filter.getUserId(),
                     util.Filter.getCurrentWeekFromFilter(),
                     util.Filter.getCurrentWeekToFilter(),

    Fine. If you're trying to bind any attributes of OrderPartners, bind it as OrderPartners/attribute-name. Say if "BegTstmp" an attribute of OrderPartners bind it as OrderPartners/BegTstmp.
    Regards
    Sakthivel

  • HT1975 Some of my apps and iphone info tells me to go to "settings" and in "settings" go to "location services" to enable apps such as a golf app to use gps .  When I go to "settings" there is no option called "location services". Why not?

    Some apps and iphone info tells me to go to "settings" and in "settings" choose "location services".  Under settings on my phone there is no "location services". What's up with that?

  • REST Web Service Output Parameter not working in POST Handler

    I've created a RESTful Web Service in Oracle Apex, using a POST method as "handler".   I've setup 11 input parameters which all work fine, it is my one output parameter that does not return successfully.
    Here is detail on the Output Paramter
    Name:  returns
    Bind Variable Name:  :returns
    Access Method:  OUT
    Source Type: Response
    Parameter Type:  String
    The actual source is a call to a pl/sql package that returns a value that I set :returns equal to (eg :returns := v_result).   I've tried this with Source Type Header and still the same result, 'no output'.
    I see APEX is calling wwv_flow_api.create_restful_param to generate the parameters (for importing), is there any documentation on this procedure?
    How can I get this output parameter to return something in the response?
    The request accepts a Json payload.
    Any help greatly appreciated
    Thanks,
    James

    Solved my own problem :returns does not work needs to be returns

  • Shared services db configuration not working in fusion

    Hi,
    I am trying to install v11. The problem is that the configuration of the db for HSS is not working correctly. The application server is deployed, the openldap service is up and EAS is fine but HSS isn't. Obviously nothing is registering with HSS. When I choose only to figure the db for hss there is no screen to enter the details. It goes straight to configure and then says its done. However, it is still listed as an outstanding task not as a failure. I tried deleting the db I had for hss and recreating it but this made no difference. I have read some docs but the screen I need is not coming up. I believe it did once though when I first went to install fusion.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Actually when I installed version 9, I never got around to configuring shared services and so never had a shared services database in SQL Server to begin with.
    One question about the registry entry you told me to delete: The (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions) which currently exists would be the entry for version 11 which I have installed right? It's the only entry for Hyperion Solutions in the registry.
    After uninstalling versino 9, C:/hyperion still existed on my machine (though it didnt have all the subfolders which it did prior to uninstalling), so I manually deleted it before installing verison 11.
    I wouldn't mind installing it on a compatible version of windows, but the thing is that at this point this is all that is available to me.
    and I don't have any other oracle products.
    thanks....

  • Service Manager is not working anymore - license expired

    Hello guys,
    our Service Manager 2012 R2 is not working since yesterday. We could not connect to the Management Server but via Hyper-V. And then we detected in the logs that the issue is that the SCSM License is expired.
    Have anyone an idea how can I change the license? I have read of the SCSM Change License Tool, but how can I get it? Is there other way to change the license? I would be very pleased to receive your answers.

    How was your SCSM servers installed?  With the trial?  Or did you enter in CD Keys?  I'm on a MS Volume License Agreement so once I enter in my CD Keys, there is no expiration (that I'm aware of!).  If you installed on the trial, there
    *should* be some KB articles on how to enter in your CD Keys.
