Location services reverts to old address

When I moved from Ontario to Florida it took Location Services a few days to locate my new address. One month later it has reverted to my old address. How can I correct this?

To follow up on Illaass' post, these are all the routers that my iPad and iPod can currently detect and I have no clue which one or ones it is using for location services.  "Express" is the only router that that's providing an Internet connection.
Some of my neighbors turn their routers on and off as needed so a similar photo tomorrow would look different.

    Does location services show your actual address when at home

    I should also mention that my wife got a phone the same time I did. Sometimes her's will show the same problem, and then sometimes her's will work fine while mine is right next to her's and not working. This type of behavior would point to a problem with the device and not the service. But then the fact that mine DOES work at times would indicate a software/service issue. I've heard others say that behavior will change when WiFi is turned on or off or when airplane mode is turned off and on. I haven't really noticed that. It's a hard one to figure out. Hopefully it is something with the software/service that will simply be solved with updates.

  • Moved house - iMac still showing as old house in all location services

    Hi
    I recently moved house. I updated to Yosemite the other day, and was playing around with widgets and said Yes to using my location for weather.
    Funnily enough, it used the location of my old house.
    I the noticed that using maps, it pins me at the old house still, and using Find my iPhone it shows my Mac as being at the old house as well.
    I tried adding home address details to my login contact. I have turned off and on location services.
    How the heck do I get it to update whatever it needs to update to update my location!!

    Well as it tuned out it was a corrupt com.apple.geod.plist file.
    I was searching for info on why my apps were stuck in downloading, and noticed that com.apple.geod in my activity monitor services was 'not responding'. Hmm, geod I though, sounds like geographic. So a bit of googling, and other had noticed it was also not responding on their systems (Not responding processes in Actvity Monitor: callservicesd, coreaudiod, com.apple.geod, identityservicesd, and icloud he…
    So after deleting com.apple.geod.plist from my library/preferences file, all was well and good!!

  • IP address range of Microsoft Location Services API

    Hi,
    I am developing a LOB windows 8.1 application. The windows 8 tablet device we are using needs to be locked down by IP address to the specific services that the application will use. I have not been able to find the IP address range for the Microsoft Location
    Sevices API uses (Windows.Devices.Geolocation namespace).
    Does someone know where on the MS website this sort of information is held as I can't seem to find this information anywhere?
    Thanks

    Probably you can find more information from here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd464636(v=vs.85).aspx
    As I understand system have a location service and when the app calls the service, the service query the location automatically.
    If you still have questions about location service, perhaps ask at desktop forum is a better choice:

  • I just bought an iPhone 4S 3 days ago, but its battery seems to lose 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tuned off some location services, bluetooth, and even siri,  and made its settings similar to my two-year old iPhone 4.  The 4S can last much shorter.

    I am having the exact same problem with my iphone 5.
    I took it back to the Apple store 2 days ago and they gave me a new one, but they told me not to restore it from backup cos if something (an app) is corrupted it will happen again. The only thing they could keep was my contacts cos they did something there that allowed them to transfer them to the new phone. I went home, and downloaded only ONE app (facebook), and guess what - THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURING ON THE BRAND NEW PHONE! It is driving me insane as I cant get through the day without my phone.
    Really hoping someone has a fix that will work

  • How to update the location of my AirPort Network? Find my iPhone shows me in my old address.

    I have a AirPort Extreme 4th gen. and 3 AirPort Express in my home wifi network. I recently moved to a new home, and also moved my Airport Network, but when I have my devices connected to my wifi network, find my iPhone shows then in my old address. How can I chance the location of my network?

    I was afraid that this was going to be the answer...  thanks for getting back on here to let me know!

    bought a new linksys router location services will not work on i-pad hooked old router back up and it started working again linksys was no help

    WiFi iPads determine location through a database of router locations. Your new one is not in the database, give it some time and it will be added.

  • Location Service set me in the wrong place

    I recently moved from from LA to Las Vegas, and when I installed my network (3 Airport Express) then my MBP (retina 2012) OS 10.10.2 are keep on telling me that my location is in LA (my previous address). Interesting though is when I am Safari and other browsers, then ads and searches locates me at my correct location. But Maps, Find my phone and Time zone is using my previous location in LA.
    Network is configured as one Airport Express is hardwired to the modem, and the other two act as extended network routers.
    My iPhone 6plus have no problems and same with my iPad both on IOS 8.3.1. Even my MacAir (2012) OS 10.10.2 has no problem with the correct location. -all on same WIFI network as my MBP.
    Any ideas or suggestions

    The location service uses an Apple database of router location and its unique identifier. As of yet nobody here as been able to find a way to update the Apple database. You do not have to connect to a router to use its location, all yo have to do is to be within range.It could be find your previous home location since the database may still have you old location associated with your router (assuming you moved you router to your new location). For the other locations you obtained, they may have be from other routers.

  • Location Services in Reminders - Not Working

    I'm having issues with my Location Services for my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.3. Whenever I try and tell Siri a command such as, "Remind me to grab my checkbook when I get home." Siri always responds, "Before I can do that, you'll need to enable Reminders on your iPhone's Location Services."
    The problem is that I've enabled the Location Services on Reminders over and over and over again, and yet, anytime I try and get Siri to set up a reminder, it always disables the Location Services behind the scenes and gives the same response, "Before I can do that...".
    I can manually input a request with Location Services for Reminders. It's only when I try and use Siri to set up a reminder, that I have any issues.
    Anyone else

    Responding to an old thread here, but this is because of the way applications that use location services also use the data from Skyhook...
    Skyhook is a service that records the MAC addresses of Cell Base stations/towers and wireless access points.
    Google Maps vehicles records the wireless AP data at the same time they get street view images.
    There was some controversy over this - but they effectively record the location and the MAC address of any AP they find as they drive round. This gets sent to a massive database at Skyhook and is used to either locate without GPS or enhance/aid the GPS information. It's also why the location is always the road outside!
    If your location/MAC relationship has not been mapped by Skyhook, Google or others - then the good news is that you can add it - although it can take a month or two at least - to work. The reason is that it depends which database is being used by Skyhook's clients..
    Add your Wireless Access Point (or Wireless Router) here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php
    The main website for Skyhook is here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com
    Hope that helps...!

  • My location service is not working from the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?

    From the day one the response is that (cannot able to determine the location) while using ios5.1 .What can i need to do to see my location in maps and other application even the location services is enabled in the settings?.Which means that is there is any problem in my ipad ? currently running on IOS 6.

    Your location is determined from a location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The database is built and updated by actually driving around and mapping router locations.
    Since you just moved the location of your router has not been updated in the database and when you use Maps you will see your old location.
    If you go outside your house you can be correctly located because your iPod sees other routers which are in the location database. Note that you do not need to be connected to a router for your iPod to see it and obtain its MAC address.

  • Why are my location services always on

    I have an issue with my location services in ios5 with my Iphone 4.
    There is a purple arrow always on for the Seeting Time Zone option (even when in airplane mode).
    It seems to affect the battery even with the recent upgrade.
    If I turn this option off, then over night my clock is set one hour later than the correct time.
    Please let me know if any of you have similar issues, and if you have any solutions!
    Thanks.

    Yes but then as I stated, my clock goes off by at least one hour (usually in the middle of the night leaving me to depend on an old alarm clock). To fix this, I then would have to do a manual set up for the date and time, and then it really starts to feel like a dumb phone rather than a smart phone. Surely, this is a bug that needs to be addressed?

  • HT1975 Location services on an iPod touch

    If an iPod is purchased in Toronto and registers with a Toronto address but then used in another country will it still show the Toronto address in locations services ?

    For location the iPod uses the location nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's data base. You do not have to be connect to the router.
    Thus, if you bring your router with you when you are at home the iPod will show the old location until Apple updates theri database.
    Apple continuously updates their database based on data it obtains from iPhones. No one has found a way to tell apple to correct/add a wifi router to their database.

  • Transferring info from old address book to new Mac

    my subtopic ought to be 'writing a subject heading that relates to the question I want to ask'. That question was;
    Can anyone help me?
    My last iMac died and I've got a new one. I've also got the hard drive from the old iMac, but when I try to open things from it, such as the address book, the new version opens and I can't find a way to get at the info that is in my old address book. I want to e-mail friends to tell them that I'm back on-line, but I can't get at their addresses. Advice received with thanks.

    The Address Book data is stored at the following location - Home > Library > Application Support > AddressBook.
    With the Address Book application quit on your new iMac, transfer the AddressBook folder from the old hard drive and place it in the same location on your new hard drive at Home > Library > Application Support.
    This will replace the existing AddressBook folder in this location.
    Launch Address Book and all contacts from the old drive should be completely restored.

  • I had to do a re-install of Thunderbird after a crash. How do I get my old address book into my new one?

    I had to do a re-install of Thunderbird after a crash. How do I get my old address book into my new one? There are only a few of the contacts I had, so there must be a location where the rest are, but not sure where to look. And once I find them (with your help), how do I get them into the address book?

    If you copy abook.mab or history.mab into a profile folder, they will show up as Personal Address Book and Collected Addresses. But if the mab files have names other than abook or history, they can only be imported to TB with the use of [https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html MoreFunctionsForAddressBook].

  • How to invoke a web service asynchronously using ws-addressing model?

    Hi Gurus,
    We are invoking an external web service asynchronously using Oracle Work Flow Business events using the following mechanism -
    1)Created a web service invoker event to invoke the web service.
    2)Created a subscription that invokes the web service (provided the wsdl address, operation info).
    3)Defined a subscription parameter WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT with value pointing to a recieve event.
    4)Created a receive event(parameter value for WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT) and a subscription that directs the response to a custom PL/SQL function to process response.
    so far so good. We were able to invoke the web service and get and process the response.
    Problem: The external web service can take upto 10 hrs to process the request. A time out of 2 hrs is set on the server hosting the external web service. So when the external web service takes more than 2 hrs to process the request and it times out and we get the following error on EBS side -
    'l_error_message:oracle.apps.fnd.wf.bes.InvokerException: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.ContentTypeException: Not a valid SOAP Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'
    Now the external web service providers are suggesting that we are not calling their web service asynchronously and we should use ws-addressing model to do so.
    Is there a way to invoke this web service using ws-addressing model using business events or from PL/SQL or OA middle-tier?

    Bharat,
    You dont need a Business Event setup to invoke a BPEL process from PL/SQL unless you have a special case and you need to process the response from the BPEL process in a separate thread (or in background)..
    For a straight call to BPEL process from PL/SQL, here is a sample script -
    function "MYTEST0" return varchar2 AS
    soap_request varchar2(30000);
    soap_respond varchar2(30000);
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    resp XMLType;
    i integer;
    helpStr varchar2(30000);
    BEGIN
    soap_request:= '<?xml version = ''1.0'' encoding = ''UTF-8''?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:ns0="
    http://xmlns.oracle.com/TestWS">
    <env:Body>
    <ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    <ns0:input>abc</ns0:input>
    </ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    /* the BPEL process name is TestWS */
    http_req:= utl_http.begin_request
    ( 'http://hostname:7777/orabpel/default/TestWS/1.0'
    , 'POST'
    , 'HTTP/1.1'
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml');
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(soap_request));
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', 'process');
    utl_http.write_text(http_req, soap_request);
    http_resp:= utl_http.get_response(http_req);
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, soap_respond);
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp);
    resp:= XMLType.createXML(soap_respond);
    resp:= resp.extract('/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/child::node()',
    'xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"');
    helpStr := '';
    i:=0;
    loop
    helpStr := helpStr || substr(soap_respond,1+ i*255,250);
    i:= i+1;
    if i*250> length(soap_respond)
