Location to keep .rep files in Report services 10gR2

Dear All,
I have installed Reports and Forms services standalone 10gR2.
I want to know the default directory where to keep report executable files.
Or if i select an other directory where to specify the path so that report server looks for the files from our specified directories.
Thanks, Imran Baig

Hi,
The Path of Reports is defined in reports.sh locale in $ORACLE_HOME/bin. You need set the value em reports.sh and restart the OAS. Other poin is the file of reports to public in server to execute isn't more .rep. Now you developer yours reports and put in your server the files .rdf.

  • Error REP-51002 on Report Services 10.1.2

    Hi
    I installed Oracle Apps Server 10.1.2 and I only pick Form and Report Services to be installed with standard-dates.
    I create a "Standalone" Report-Server, because I want to see the err-log.
    <oarcle_home>\BIN\addNewServerTarget.bat repsrv01
    In "rwservlet.properties" I have changed:
    SERVER_IN_PROCESS =NO
    TRACEOPTS=TRACE_ALL
    TRACEFILIE= rwservlet.trc
    SINGLESIGNON=NO
    SERVER=repsrv01
    In the default from "rwservlet.properties" I read (????):
    OID_ENTITY=%REPORTS_OID_ENTITY%
    But when I test the Report Services : http://host-name:port-number/repdemo, then click : Test a Paper Report. I got this error :

  • [Forum FAQ] How do I export each group data to separated Excel files in Reporting Services?

    Introduction
    There is a scenario that a report grouped by one field for some reasons, then the users want to export each group data to separated Excel files. By default, we can directly export only one file at a time on report server. Is there a way that we can split
    the report based on the group, then export each report to Excel file?
    Solution
    To achieve this requirement, we can add a parameter with the group values to filter the report based on the group, then create a data-driven subscription for the report which get File name and parameter from the group values.
    In the report, create a parameter named Name which use the Name field as Available Values (supposing the group grouped on Name field).
    Add a filter as below in the corresponding tablix:
    Expression: [Name]
    Operator: =
    Value: [@Name]
    Deploy the report. Then create a data-driven subscription with Windows File Share delivery extension for the report in Report Manager.
    During the data-driven subscription, in the step 3, specify a query that returns the Name field with the values as the group in the report.
    In the step 4 (Specify delivery extension settings for Report Server FileShare), below “File name”option, select “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
    Below ‘Render Format’ option, select Excel as the static value.
    In the step 5, we can configure parameter Name “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
    Then specify the subscription execute only one time.

    Thanks,
    Is this a supported scenario, or does it use unsupported features?
    For example, can we call exec [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription', @EventData='b64ce7ec-d598-45cd-bbc2-ea202e0c129d'
    in a supported way?

  • Where is the best target location to put configuration files (.csv), report templates (,dotm) and instructions (.pdf) when building a LabVIEW program and installer?

    I am unsure of the best location to the above type of support files.  I would like the files to be available to all users accounts.  If I place them into something like c:\LabVIEW support files this can create an issue if manual changes are made to any of these files by a user without administrative rights.  I can also place them into public documents.  Any recomendations?
    Related.  I have added a PDF "help" file to the project. and given a path in the VI properties documentation field.  I have then added a custom runtime menu with "Help for This VI".  Running the application on my development machine, it works just fine.  Making this in an application installed on a test machine, results in the application crashing.  The PDF file is in the correct location on the target machine.  Any ideas?

    It seems you want to put the files where just any user can't get to them to edit them. Unfortunately, if the user account can't get to them, I don't think LV will be able to get to them. I could be wrong. To test this out, use a target location somewhere under your user account folder and then have another user try to run the app. if LV finds them then that gives you more options. If not, then you are going to have to have a common location that users are not likely to go to.
    I generally create a dedicated folder structure for LV apps on a target system as shown below.  I also make this the My Documents folder so that the LabView Data folder is created under this structure. Yea, it means that users can get to the files but that's where training needs to be executed.  If you are in a network environment, you can place the templates, config (ini) files, etc on a network location and users are a bit less likely to inadvertently navigate to them.
    I use both for some apps, Local folders for system specific files and Common folders on the network for files that all systems will share.
    Not sure if this will address your location issues but thought I would share it nonetheless.

    Hi Ychinnari,
    According to your description, you found error in log file of reporting services, when you come to rsreportserver.config file, the DSN tag is empty.
    DSN specify the database server that hosts the report server database connection string.  The report server database is created, this value will be encrypted and added to the configuration file. To solve the problem, we need to connect to either an
    existing report server database or create a new one for this instance. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
    Start the Reporting Services Configuration Manager and connect to the report server instance for which you are creating the database.
    On the Database page, click Change Database.
    We can create a new report server database or select an existing database, then click Next.
    Connect to the instance of the Database Engine that you will use to create and host the report server database.
    Specify properties used to create the database.
    Specify the credentials used by the report server to connect to the report server database.
    Review the information on the Summary page to verify the settings are correct, and then click Next.
    Verify the connection by clicking a URL on the Report Server URL page or Report Manager URL page.

  • Where REP files should be placed ?

    Hi All,
    I'm a newbie in Forms & Reports. Now I'm facing a situation. I have a form with the following procedure on button:
    RP2RRO.RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS,'MYREPORT',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,TO_CHAR(NULL),NULL);
    Whenever this button is pressed , a exception raises (Frm-40735: when-button=pressed trigger raise unhandled exception ora-06508). I think that exception is raised due to the location of MYREPORT.rep file. I don't know where it should be placed.
    That's is my question: Where *.rep files must be placed?
    I'm running Oracle Forms & Reports 11g R2 on Windows 7 64 bit.
    Thanks a lot.

    That would depend on the source directory of your reports server:

  • Workflows 2013 and SQL Report Services: Configure on Independent Servers or Existing App Servers?

    Currently, my SharePoint 2013 Farm has Workflows 2013 and SQL Report Services installed on app servers, along with other applications. Workflows 2013 isn't working correctly (installed prior to my coming on board with the organization), I'm assuming it
    is a configuration issue, but rather than re-configure, I've read that is recommended to be a standalone server. It was also recommended by a MSFT rep that our report services have its own independent server. Currently, Report Services is also installed on
    an app server that runs other applications on the farm.
    Has anyone had any experience with installing Workflows 2013 and/or SQL Report Services on independent vs. existing application servers?
    Additionally, my existing application servers have 24 GB of RAM (I believe the recommendation for SharePoint production environments is 12 GB), should I plan for the potentially new servers (Workflows and Report Services) to also have 24 GB of RAM? Not really
    sure if it will be needed if they have dedicated tasks.
    Thanks for any input you can provide!

    It entirely depends on load. WFM will work just fine installed on servers in the SharePoint farm. SSRS preferably should go on the end-user facing servers for better performance.
    The questions you're asking are all "it depends" :)

  • Reports Services with Oracle9iAS v9.03

    I am using Oracle Application Server9i ver 9.0.3. I want to install Oracle Report Services on it. Can I install Oracle Report Services 10g 9.0.4 on it? If not then plz tell me the exact location where i can download Oracle Report Service 9.0.3.

    No, you can't and you can't.
    I believe AS 9.0.3 is just the Core software: httpd, oc4j and opmn. And "Reports Services" is not packaged stand-alone, but you can download and install Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 9.0.4 (in a separate oracle home), if you don't want the whole BI package.
    Downloads are available in the, eh, downloads section (eg. Oracle AS 10g product center).

    when we are accessing the server for the first time thru the URL, the client browser automatically downloads required jinitiator. If your client browser is facing the problem that you described, then replace the symcjit.dll file that already exists in the machine with symcjit.dll, from the machine, where it is working.
    The same issue was resolved for us by doing so...

  • How to print pdf file in SQL Server Reporting services report using command prompt?

    Is there a way to automatically print a SQL Server Reporting services report on command prompt? For eg: We can save a pdf file using rs.exe utility. I want to print a pdf using rs.exe utility. Is it possible? I don't want to install any 3rd party software.

    Thanks Simon for replying to my question.
    In oracle form, there is oracle command to print the report from command prompt with the help of rwrun.exe
    e.g: rwrun.exe   REPORT="D:\Test\REP_25\MLA.REP" DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER" P_FORMNAME="MLA.FMX" P_SPRACHE="E" P_SPRACHE_NR2="1" P_WHERE_BEDINGUNG="order by land_nr" USERID="test/test.world" PSV_NAME="PSV_DEMO" PSV_JOB_ID="PS$9583" RECURSIVE_LOAD="NO"
    BATCH="YES" NONBLOCKSQL="NO" ARRAYSIZE="1" PARAMFORM="NO" ERRFILE="c:\temp\psv16.tmp"<
    and to save the report we just need to change DESNAME="c:\temp\OC_100001349.pdf" DESTYPE="FILE" in above command instead of DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER".
    DESNAME and DESTYPE are the input parameters of the respective report.
    In SSRS, we can run the file from the command prompt and save it.
    rs -i "C:\Users\pujarswa\Documents\reports\new\LoadReport.rss" -s ww2004760:80/ReportServer_MSSQL -v fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"
    -v reportPath="/TipsReport/LoadListTabular" -t -v format="PDF" -v LandNr=4 -u ap\swati -p test@# -e Exec2005
    But we cannot use same command for printing as you said we need to create another script for printing files.
    I have gone through the links but I dont want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader exe for printing because client it may not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on their machine.
    Also I want to pass a input parameter as type="Printer" to my report which will print directly for me and same I can acheive in command prompt passing type="Printer" fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"

    Hello,
    I get the following errors after new configuration for Froms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.6):
    FRM-41214: Unable to run report
    Or:
    REP-110: File 01RD_MARG_04E. cannot be opened.
    REP-1070: An error occurred while opening or saving a document.
    The Report-Server is in Running state, but Report-Service is not available.
    How can I isolate the error position?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mohammad

    Just out of curiosity, what did you change in opmn.xml?
    Oh, I see in the doc now. That the same thing can be inserted in opmn.xml. But I have never seen
    that done in any production environment I have encounterd.
    I find that document a little bit strange, to be honest. Is that really the way to configure the Reports Service?
    It is so very strange that they do not mention the env-id possibility in the rwserver.conf file.
    The REPORTS_PATH is gotten from either registry, that is, the default for the host if you so like, or envid in the call to reports service via the URL as a parameter, ie. &envid=test. That envid can also hold
    variables like NLS_LANG and such.
    I regard the opmn files as do-not-touch and part of the WLS system structure.
    I seldom touch the reports.bat-file. But maybe that was necessary in this case. I do not know.

    Hi,
    You(The user) need to have access permission to read the mesg files. The DBA installing Reports will be able to run the reports.
    Grant read access to rwus.msb and rwus.msg files on $ORACLE_HOME/reports/mesg/
    Try to run it, should work.
    Thanks,
