Locator auto-defaulting in move orders

hi folks,
even though i stumbled across this functionality in Field Service, i thought this would be the right forum to understand the functionality.
i was testing Spares Management Move Orders functionality, when i discovered that one does not need to populate Source and / or Destination Stock Locators for locator-controlled subinventories while creating a MO. either during Reservation > Allocation, or during Print Picklist, the system automatically determines the correct (at least so far), or one of the correct, Stock Locator(s) associated with Source and / or Destination subinventory.
we have more than one stock locator, within a subinventory, each holding different on-hand quantities for an item (non-unique locator-item relation). the system always seems to pick up one with the highest on-hand. is that the functionality, or is it just picking the first ID record or first row returned? can someone please shed light on exactly how this functionality can be expected to work, before go ahead full steam and create an elaborate business process around it?
much thanks and best regards.

karthik,
the Item Transaction Defaults setup was doing the trick - it was providing the Locator from which a Move Order was picking the item.
thanks and regards.

So we would like to set this payment terms as auto default the momemnt we open the sales order screen. Appreciate if you could advice me the settings or configuration in SAP.

    Hi
Goto VD02 and open the customer master record. In the Billing tab - payment terms field, give the payment terms value and save the changes. Now if you create a sales order for this customer, the payment terms will be defaulted automatically.

  • CJ20N, auto-defaulted storage location at activity level

    Hi all,
we have this problem at CJ20N (PS) screen.
At activity level, componenent overview, if user keys in the material no, a storage location is auto-defaulted
later we found out that if the material is extended to only 1 storage location,  the storage will be auto-defaulted at componenet overwview, is there any setting to prevent the auto-defaulted storage .. pls advice

    Hi,
    Carry out these IMG steps:
    SPRO
    Logistic Execution
    Basic Shipping Functions
Shipping Point and Goods Receiving Point Determination
Set Up Storage-Location Dependent Shipping Point Determination
Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location,,,,,,,,
Put in your combination of Shipping Conditions / Loading Group/ Plant/ Storage Location/ Proposed shipping point
Next time you create a Delivery document,, the system will pick up the above values from the Material/Customer master records and propose a Storage Location at line item number.
I just tried it and it works, let me know if this works.
    Cheers,

  • Auto allocation for a move order with an expired lot doesn't work

    Hello everyone,
We are facing a major problem regarding the use of move orders for issuing expired lots.
    Scenario:
    1. Create a move order. Fill in: Item, Qty, Source Subinv and Lot. Lot is expired.
    2. Approve move order.
    3. Run "Move Order Pick Slip" with "Autoallocate Unallocated lines".
    4. Open Transact Move Order Form. Try to transact.
    Result:
    No allocations were created.
If we check row and push "allocate" button result is still "None".
Only way to finish the process is to open "View/Update Allocations" and pick a locator manually.
We work with a lot of expired lots, and doing that manually is a lousy workaround.
Does anyone know if that is standard functionality? Because documentation does not refer this issue.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • How to add new line in transact move order line

    Hi,
i am able to update locaotr in Transact move order.
But i want to add two locators for the same line.
I tried to insert one more record in data base, but getting error unique index error.
so how can we add new line in transact move order line .
please help to slove this isse.
    Thanks In Advance
    Venu.

    Hi,
the fact that your question is posted in Order Management section, does the move order automatically generated by OM?
nevertheless, i don't think you should (or allowed, in this case) to add a new line in transact move order. Transact move order only queries (not create records) the move order lines eligible to allocate and transact.
So, I don't see why you need to add a new line in transact move order.
You can, however, add a new line in the allocation of the lines, where for instance, you need to have half of the line allocated to one locator, and the other half to another locator
    Thanks

  • Auto GR for PRODUCTION ORDER

    Hi
I want to do auto GR fro production order ... which we have conformed qyt..
whether it is Partially CON  or fully CNF...
    IS IT possible?
    regards
    sesidhar

    Hi,
Auto GR for Production Order is possible by following Customization Setting :
    Go to -> OPKP--> Goods Receipt -
    > Tick the check box of Automatic Goods Receipt.
Other way is You maintain Control Key with Automatic Goods Receipt ( i.e. PP03 / PI03) in Default Values Tab in Work center. Then also you will be able to do Auto GR after Confirmation.
Try above setting so you will be able to do Auto GR after Confirmation.
    Hope it helps.
Reward if useful and revert if any doubt.

  • How to restrict Sales Order LOV in Transact Move Orders

    Hello
We would like to restrict LOV in the Transact Move Orders screen to only those orders that were created in that specific Operating Unit. Also, we would like to control the LOV for Release Rules to a specific OU.
I believe the LOVs for both these screens pull from MTL_SALES_ORDERS. Therefore, I guess we would need to create a Value Set of type Table, value will be SEGMENT1 (Sales Orders) but unsure about the where condition.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Sanjib

    Sanjib
Release Rules: Why don't you use the SRS version if pick releasing rather than the screen. Ofcourse you lose some flexibility to enter order number and customer information. If screen is a must you can take the LOV from the existing form and create a new record group in the new form instance trigger. Add this peice to the lov sql to control the pick release rules result:
    (select 1 from org_organization_definitions cust_org
    where org.organization_id=cust_org.organization_id
    and operating_unit=FND_PROFILE.VALUE('ORG_ID'))
This org is mtl_parmeters table used in LOV.
    2. Transact Move Orders: Instead of changing the LOV and playing with the Sales Order Flexfield, you can use the inventory organization security to control who can do a transaction. This will not change the LOV but definitely will control the access to the records after you have queried. As you know this is inventory or warehouse function not the OE function.
You can try one idea though:
Segment2 is order_type which is OU specific. You can create value set that picks the LOV from the order types table for a specific OU, assign that to the segment2 and create a security rule. This rule will have include and exclude rules. You include all the Order types that are in a specific OU and assign that rule to the resp of that OU where move order is transacted. This will limit the LOV of the order types to only those that are availble for that resp. I have not tried this but give it a shot.
    Thanks

For the error records did you verify the validity of item, sub-inventories, locator_id etc?

  • Payment Term default to Purchase Order

    Dear SAP guru,
We have problem that payment term is not defaulted to Purchase Order if the Purchase Order is converted from Purchase Requisition.
If purchase order is directly created in ME21N, the payment term will be defaulted from vendor master. However we have purchase requisition that is released/converted to purchase order, these POs willl not copy over the paymetn term from vendor master.
Can any one share how to make the PO always default payment term from vendor master eventhough it is converted from purchase requisition?
Thanks a lot in advance for your kind assisstance.
    rgds
    Dahlia

    Hi Rajesh,
Thanks for your quick reply. No, the PR is not referenced to contract. The PR is for external process, therefore the flows is asa follow:
    1. Production order creation; for external process system automatically create purchase requisition.
    2. Purchase requisition will have vendor code defaulted from production order routing. In the routing for external process you can define the vendor code.
    3. Convert the purchase requisition into purchase order.
The problem the purchase order will not have payment term default from vendor master.
    Thks

    Hello,
There is a one - to - many relationship between Move Order Line and Delivery Detail Line when you split lines in delivery.
    select * from mtl_material_transactions t you have source_id.
    select * from WSH_DELIVERABLES_v t you have move_order_id.
