Lock 1-pixel Border PNG's for draw9patch

I have CS5 and I'm trying to lock the out pixel border of a png. This png only has one layer. I'm trying to edit a .9.png before it's been compiled. For those that don't know, the PNG will then be placed in a compiled format with the out one pixel border hidden. For now, the outer one pixel border tells where the PNG will stretch and where text will be placed. What I've tried doing so far is reducing the image/canvass size by 1 pixel, making my edits then expanding the PNG by one pixel. That doesn't work because using gradient overlay makes changes to my out black pixel border which must stay black. What I'd like to be able to do is lock the outer border from being edited without having to create another layer. I've attached screenshots below.

As you can see from the edited PNG, the one pixel border was also changed when I did a gradient overlay. The compiler program Android uses, "Draw9patch" will only recognize the outer border if it's black. Since the border was changed when I did a gradient overlay, this won't fly. Any ideas?

Is there a way to lock transparent pixels for more than one layer at a time?

I've tried selecting multiple layers to modify but the lock transparent pixels box becomes greyed out once I've selected more than one layer. Apologies in advance if this is deemed to be a stupid question but it would be greatly appreciated if someone knows of a solution. It would be very handy for some of the projects I'm currently developing.

I have not had a problem in Photoshop CC 2014 as long as I selected a layer with transparency, in my case the gray checkerboard. The button would dim if I selected an adjustment layer.

I recently changed cable providers, so my email changed too. I was able to change my iMac to a new email and reset the password, but I am not able to use that email with my iPod touch. It still has my old email locked in when it asks me for my password. I don't remember the pasword because I tried to modify it when I did my iMac, and can't remember which password and capital letters I used. I am not able to back up my iCloud and am afraid to finally upgrade the software until I have this problem fixed. My secret question answersare wrong, and can't use the old email to reset because I have no access to that email account anymore. Can anyone help? If not I got to pay $19 to Apple support to fix it. Which keyboard layout you were using? German, French ... I suppose your layout is reset to the default: US and you are unable to find the "?" or "/" ...
Please have a look into the keyboard viewer, to see how the layout of your keyboard is actually.

Does anyone know of an app I can use so that I can lock myself out of my phone for a specified time interval? There are times where my phone becomes a distraction and it would be easier to just lock myself out of it for 45 mins than to go to the trouble of putting it somewhere were I won't notice it and it will be too far away from me to just pick it up and start searching social media sites as procrastination.

It's called "SelfControl". It can be a little hard to learn to use but it's worth the effort.

As Ocean20 say, your only shot at recovering the photos and data is to restore from a backup (with iTunes if you took the backup with iTunes, through iCloud if you took the backup through iCloud).
The erasure is to prevent your data from falling into the hands of somebody who takes your phone and eventually guesses your password. If you feel that the inconvenience caused by this feature and your friend outweighs the trouble that somebody could cause if they got possession of your contacts and other data, you can change this behaviour.
Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Erase Data > OFF

No, the pixel bender plugin from cs5 will not work in cs6.

I turned my phone on this morning and instead of the pattern lock that I've been using with this phone since I purchased it, it is now asking for a PIN that I do not know.
I contacted Samsung but they told me that my carrier would be able to reset the PIN for me remotely. I've been trying to find a way to chat with Verizon support but it keeps sending me to self help troubleshooting. It was so easy to get a live person on Samsung support, how do I get a real person on Verizon?

I am installing Adobe Reader 9.0 onto a new windows xp corporate build for my company. We would like to have the Forms Preference "Highlight Color" Show border Hover Color for Fields checkbox unchecked by default for any user that logs onto the workstation. (All new WinXP profiles, and if possible, any existing profiles) Is there a registry entry that can be changed to ensure that this option is unchecked by default on our WinXP build?

I have downloaded the Adobe Reader 9.0 Custom Wizard install creator tool, but it still appears that I will need to know what registry key to change/import into the installer for this preference to be disabled by default for all users of the workstation that Adobe Reader 9.x is installed onto.

This question has been asked many times but none of the answers work. The one link that everything refers to does nothing other than to refresh itself. Where can I really get the Pixel Bender Plug in for CS-5 as I want to use the Oil Paint Filter that it contains. Thank you for any help you may offer.

Hmmm. I think you have a great point there. In my opinion, I
think that there is no png fix for background images. Use jpegs
with background. I do the same.

Thanks for the replies. I like to power down most of the time to save battery so if it's gonna be normal for me not to be able to get to the slider screen before it goes into sleep I guess I will have to accept it. However I'm sure I remember rightly that the first few times I used it after set up it used to stay on screen for several seconds to allow me to slide the button over. Now it never does and to be honest I would expect it to wait after all you don't boot up your PC and then it immediately go into sleep mode unless something was wrong. I thought most things when powered on would let you sign in or whatever before "going to sleep".
Just concerned to do a reset in case the darned thing does erase stuff which would seriously tee me off. Appreciate the feedback guys.
