Lock button issue

Recently I have been having trouble with my lock button, at random times I find it really difficult to lock my iphone- I have done a quick search on google and noticed this isn't a unique problem.

Just quickly pointing out that you said "It is NOT a hardware issue", yet, you post this under "iPhone Hardware". Nice!
Check for any and all debrie that could cause such a thing to happen. Other than that, best bet is to backup via iTunes AND iCloud, then do a full restore via iTunes.
Good luck!

Are you still experiencing the issue? Have you tried visiting a Nokia Care Point and have your phone checked by the technicians? This can help us prevent further damage on it & immediate action needed be taken. However, having said that your phone has been updated to the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developer software, your warranty has been voided and charges may apply. • Ad mediator casuing lock button issues?

Hi everyone, i have developed a universal app for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. I have used the ad mediator in the Phone package. Today after my app was certified i discovered an issue, running the app then quitting it will cause the lock button to
not lock the screen again but you can still shut down the phone, also if the screen is locked the you cant unlock it wilth the button or by double tapping, the only way to solve this is by soft-reset. I was able to reproduce it on a Lumia 925 and 520 however
i after a couple of times i failed to reproduce it again. This issue is very similar to the official chive app issue:
Reports of serious power button issue surface after installing theChive app for Windows Phone
My app doesnt display any videos or GIF files, so it is not using any function to keep the screen on like the chive app did.
Both apps (the chive and my app) are universal and both are supported by ads, however i am not sure about what ad control they used.
So my question is: Is this a general bug/issue in XAML universal apps? Is it a bug in the ad mediator? or is it the combination or universal apps and ads that is causing this issue?
Also did you encounter such issue? if so how did you solve it?
    Thank you all

  • 3rd gen iPod touch lock button issues

Recently my 3rd gen iPod touch started giving me problems with the lock button.  If I press the lock button the screen will turn on and off rapidly and then the power off screen will come up.  It will just keep doing this over and over; I've tried to restore it but no luck there.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the switch needs to be replaced. You might try this until you get it serviced.

  • Inconsistent lock button issues?

Has anyone had any problems with their lock button being inconsistent? I've found that I needed to press the lock down multiple times before I can get the screen to lock.  I do have the 6.0.2 update if that means anything.

    anyone?

My lock button has been stuck so i use the assistive touch.  But this afternoon, my iPhone4 shut off randomly.  I tried plugging it into the wall charger and my computer but its not turning back on.  The screen appears to be the charger with an arrow to itunes.  HELP!

  • Lock button issue after update

So I updated my iPhone 5 to the 7.0.2 update this past Sunday and now my lock botton is not responding when I press it. I have to hit it a few times to get it to respond now.
It is NOT a hardware issue since I did not have that issue since ownership. It only started with this issue after I did the update to the 7.0.2 software. 7.0 it was completely fine. (It was an OTA update from 7.0 to 7.0.2)
I have not done the, "erase settings and reset" yet so everything can be reinstalled. But I am wondering if anyone has come across this issue and found a solution without doing the factory reset.

  • Caps lock button issue

I'm very confused by this problem. Every 4-5 shut down and restart cycles, the caps lock light will come on at just before the log in screen. After I log in it stays lit and won't shut off. I've disabled the caps lock key in System Pref. but it still happens. Also when this is taking place I am unable to use the symbol keys that are with the numbers at the top of the keyboard. The only way to get rid of it is to restart it. I know it's not a big deal, but when I need to get stuff done, it's a pain to wait for it to star again. This all started after I installed 10.5.4, I doubt it has anything to do with it, but I guess any info would be helpful.
    Thank

I noticed that some problems don't seem to get attention. I am typing this using a bluetooth keyboard on top of my G4 PowerBook, which is hardly an elegant solution to my caps lock problem. If I spend close to $2000 on a laptop, which is close to the most I spend on any consumer product after a house and car, is it unreasonable to expect that after a mere four years, it can be repaired, rather than simply tossed aside. I am an expat living in a SE Asian country without any Apple Authorised resellers etc. When I make the trip to Thailand to get my machine fixed, I'd like to know that someone there will know what to do to sort this problem, without me being faced with the prospect of having to pay a lot of money to buy a new one or replace hardware that is not in fact needing replaced. That is why I posted on this forum. Was I mistaken in thinking that in the entire Mac using community, there isn't more than one other person having the same issue as me? Is anybody from Apple aware of this problem and do they have any idea how to fix it? I'm not seeking to be antagonistic here, I'd just like to think that somebody, somewhere out there has some idea, what has gone wrong with my PowerBook and can help me get it fixed.
p.s I sorted out the large fuzzy Apple on startup by zapping the PROM, so that doesn't seem to be directly connected to the game of green light tennis I can now play between my caps lock and num lock keys. (My caps lock key is permanently lit and when I try to turn it off, it reduces the volume of my speakers and "types" "rfr" and other such gobbledegook.)

  • IPod lock button issue

I have a 4th generation iPod touch and the volume and sleep/wake buttons have not been working. Recently as of today i have found random times at which they do work. It appears however that they only work when the iPod is cool to the touch, once i pick it up and use it for a few minutes and it gets warmer, the buttons no longer work. I know its not a loose flex cable as ive shook it around while it was still cool and the buttons still worked, only the device warms up does it stop working. Is there anything that could cause this and a way to fix it?

I would take it to an apple store to get it checked out. Is it still under the one year warranty? They may replace it if it meets their defective product specs

Warranty and support is only valid in the country of origin.  The only exception being the EU where a device bought in any EU country can get warranty or service in any EU country.
Warranty is determined by device (serial number), no documentation required.
Apple does not repair devices, they replace them.  For that reason, ensure the device is backed up and any pictures take with the device are copied off the device prior to going in for service.

  • Lock/Power button issue.

When I press my lock button the phone will lock itself then will ocasionally bring up the power down option as if I had held it down.  Also it has started locking itself randomly when I'm using it (except on phone calls).  Is this something wrong with the button itself or are there other issues with the phone.  Everything else works fine with the phone and I have no other issues with it at all.

    Hey mate
Seems to be a issue in the actual phone ....
If you still have warranty you can get a free replacement !!!!! At apple store , authorised service provider and apple care ... If not the replacement price will be a cost of $179.95 + plus 3 months hardware warranty

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
