Lock button on iphone is in an angle
Hi!
I was just wondering if the silver coloured "lock" button on top of the iphone 3gs is supposed to be in an angle down to the left, towards the SIM card slot? It works fine and all, just wanted to check.

I am having same problem as this one. will warranty fix this problem? In Thailand, they said that the button function is still fine, they cannot do anything with it. I was so upset. I have to push the button really hard all time.

None of us could determine what Apple might do, and they are the ones that make the final decision on warranty issues. You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store and have the device examined. If they determine it is a manufacturing defect, they will replace the device.

Lock button on Iphone 4 is stuck
The lock button on my Iphone 4 is stuck out of a sudden..I did not drop it...nothing happened to it!
I have to press so hard on it for it to lock/unlock the screen.
My warranty is expired and I don't know what to do.
I don't want to buy a new phoneYou have 3 choices:
1) You can do nothing
2) You can bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange for $149.00
3) You can find a 3rd party iPhone repair shop near you and see what they charge. -
Broken lock button on iPhone 5
a few months ago my lock button on my phone stopped working. you can press down on it just fine, like it's not jammed or anything, it just doesn't do anything. i've had my phone for just over a year, a year and a week tomorrow actually. i've read different discussions about broken lock buttons and most of them have said to just take it into apple and they'll most likely replace it. but my problem is, i'm almost positive i don't have a warrenty on it anymore, and even if i did, would they still replacing seeing that they don't sell iPhone 5's anymore.
You should still have a 1 year warranty, but as you are out then you might have to pay the out of warranty cost. Go to apple and see what they will do sense you just are out of warranty.

The steps below can help resolve issues with a non-functional sleep/wake button on your iPhone.
Sleep/Wake button won't lock or unlock iPhone
To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
Try to lock or unlock the phone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

The power button (top right of iPhone) is used to lock the iphone and power it down.
Does the iPhone ever lock?
Does it shut the screen off when you press it?
Press and hold bring up Slide to turn off?
Setttings > Passcode > Require passcode and set to Immediately -

IPhone 5 lock button doesn't work normally!
My iPhone 5 has started to recieve problems with the lock button. It takes about 5-6 times to press the lock button hard on an angle so that it works. I still have it under the one year warranty. I haven't done any physical or water damage. What should I do?

Until you get your Warranty and repair issues sorted, try to protect your Lock Button. Use Assistive Touch when convenient. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap screen white button > Device > Lock Screen. This can even be used to turn iPhone OFF. To turn ON if needed, just connect iPhone to power, charger or USB of computer.

I have an iPhone 4 and my lock button is jammed and I also can not touch anything on the left side of my screen well as any pop ups from the phone itself, so i can not get past the set up stage in reset process...how can i fix it/can it be fixed?

i downloaded ios7 my iphone 4s now isnt working i am unable to slide to unlock my iphone, yet my lock button at the top of my phone is broken and has been for sometime so i have been using the accessibility feature to lock and switch off my iphone i can still click on this button and i can still swipe up and down but i am unable to swipe too unlock and enter my passcode.. so i am thinking somethings wrong with the software? when i try to restore my iphone in itunes i am unable to as ios7 needs for location services to be switched off in iphone but i cant do this cos i cant get into my iphone, can someone please help me,,, please,,,
IF the device does NOT have a cracked screen or liquid damage and is in hardware warrenty.. apple can repair/replace the device for free.
Call apple tech to find out what your croverage is for fixing that button

I have an iphone 5 that ive had for two years. i plugged it in for the night to charge, and when i woke up it had a black screen. i tried to wake it up using the home button since my lock button does not work. ive tried to hold the lock and home button down for a certain amount of time, but it doesnt work, and im not sure if its the lock button or if my phone is just burnt out. please help.

Earlier i meantioned that my lock screen was broken. That was a mistake its my lock button i apologize. But do i still have to pay for my phone bill and activate my AT&T account in order to replace my iPhone 5 at an apple store?? Or not because of the one-year warranty??
The lock button on my iPhone5 has also started acting up. Extremely annoying. I have to get it replaced, but I've dropped my phone once and there is a scratch on the top left corner of the phone, so I'm not sure what the warranty says about this situation.

I purchased my iPhone 5 and the Applecare Protection Plan a little over a year ago at my Sprint store. I was not informed that I needed to register my Applecare Plan, so I didn't. Now, my lock button on my iPhone is broken and I want to get it fixed or receive a new phone. PeachMac told me they would give me a new phone which would be covered under my Applecare Plan. I logged into Apple to make sure I still had time on my plan, but it doesn't even recognize that I purchased one and I no longer have the receipt for the plan, let alone the phone. How can I register my plan without the receipt? I'm feeling kinda of ripped off by Apple. Shouldn't they keep a record of who purchases these plans?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.Did you register the AppleCare+ plan at the time of purchase? If you didn't, even if you had the receipt, it's too late. It must be purchased and activated within 30 days of the initial purchase of the phone (it's usually done at the time of purchase). If Sprint didn't activate it at the time of sale, you can blame them. Apple doesn't control them.
