Lock iBooks screen rotation?

Is it possible to lock screen rotation in iBooks?

To lock screen rotation, double-click the home button to show the multitasking bar. Scroll to the left end of the bar to the orientation lock control and tap to lock.

  • Can I lock the screen rotation of my itouch?

It's 2 years old so maybe 2nd gen? What a pain the auto rotation is. I just got an iPad and finally some logical sense! No more screen spinning around -- so is there a way to do this with my itouch?

3G and 4G iPods have what is known as known orientation lock, but this feature is not available for the 2G iPod touch.

  • IPhone 5, Is there a way to stop screen rotation for specific apps?

The automatic screen rotation feature is useful - sometimes, and just plain annoying other times.  I prefer to read my e-mail in portrait mode, however the slightest movement or rotation while doing so will cause the screen to rotate (with the phone generally still in portrait position).  I then have to shake the phone to get it to rotate back.  This is very annoying.
I would like to be able to lock the screen rotation for only a single app (e.g. mail) while still keeping it active for the camera, or videos.  Many of the book programs that I use, have this feature built-in, however this question is for apps that do not have this built-in.
The built in rotation lock is all-or-nothing, and is generally a pain to use.  It adds another step to just about everything I do (If I read mail, then want to view a video, I have to go back and unlock it).
Is there a way to lock the screen rotation for a specific app?

I would have expected this function to be available in settings where the application specific settings are located.  (At least for the major applications like e-mail).

  • How to turn off screen rotation on itouch 5

I just upgraded to a 32 bit iTouch 5 and was wanting to know how to turn off the screen rotation when I'm playing music. I have the shake to shuffle off (great feature!) but would like to turn off the screen rotation. I just find that to be annoying (to me anyway)...how do I do this on the 5?

Pull up the Control Center and lock the screen rotation. Tap the arrowed-circled padlock on the right side to toggle

  • How To Stop Screen Rotating When Tilting

    That's the question...
How Do I Stop The Screen Rotating When Tilting?  Drives me nuts!

Try double clicking the Home button and on the bottom row of the screen go completly to the left past the mucic control and tap on the circle arrow.  That will lock the screen rotation.  This works for the 3 and 4 G iPods. There is no rotation lock for the earlier iPods.

  • Screen rotation not available (with rotation of tablet Hp Henvy x2)

Hello, When I turn my screen 90 °, the monitor will not switch. it remains always in landscape mode instead of going in portrait. In Settings> System> Display the "lock the screen rotation" is disabled. Thanks

Well, after searching every where, somewhere (not sure where now) I saw the suggestion to turn off bluetooth and NFC. I turned off both and it *seems* like the issue may be corrected. But what if I want touse a BT device, I guess I am stuck?
As to your questions, I my have changed to a larger mouse cursor, either that or the default cursor.
I think I may have had "mouse trails" clicked, not sure if that it the same as a mouse shadow?  Neither ofthese options seem to make a difference.
I had a standard Windows provided background for use, no personal photos.
Hopefully this partial fix (turning off the other settings) helps someone else. It seems to have fixed the problem for me, at least in the last 3-4 days since switching I have not noted a return of the problem.

I wish I were writing with a fix.  I, too, have a new X2 -- I like it very much.  I have not seen what you describe.
Instead, I have more questions;  I am intrigued.  I wonder if the way in which you have the system set is having an affect on the way it is behaving.
Do you see the problem regardless of which mouse pointer you set?
There are a variety of choices -- I use an extra large white arrow most of the time; sometimes I switch to a black cursor just for grins.  You can change the selectors, too.  Right-Click on the Background Screen and click Personalize ...
Are you using the entirely useless, but oh-so-pretty "mouse shadow"?
I am wondering if changing the pointer has had any effect on the disappearing act.
What about the background?  Are you using a personal photo?  Lots of colors?  Does changing the background make any difference?

  • Regarding Screen Rotate

My phone is the Blackberry Torch 9860, & my question how do I lock the rotating it, & keep it at horizontal. So let  me know & also it ruinng OS 7?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello speedy45,
There is no supported way to lock the screen rotation on the BlackBerry® Torch™ 9860 smartphone. You may want to check the BlackBerry App World™ storefront to see if there is an application that will allow you to do this.
    Hope this helps.

In other words, can I have my screen rotate automatically as I hold my iPad in either portrait or landscape AND hear sounds from my apps at the same time?
Yes, you can. You can configure the Side Switch (above the volume button) either as Mute switch or Rotation lock.
Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: choose what you like the Side Switch to function as.

  • Some how I have locked my Screen and it will not rotate.  I tried to unlock it double taping Home but it didn't unlock it.  I'm sure this an easy fix but I'm a new iPad 2 user.

Some how I have locked the screen on my iPad 2 and can't get it to rotate.  I tried double tapping the Home key but it didn't make a difference.

Double tapping the home button won't unlock your screens orientation.  Double tapp the home button and swipe the bottom row of apps that appear and swipe them to the right all the way until an icon appears on the left side.  It should be either a mute icon, or orientation icon.  Hopefully, since your screen is not rotating, it will be the screen lock.  Touch the icon and that should solve your problem.

You cannot do two different simultaneous VISA writes over a serial bus. There is a single rx line on the pc's com port and a single rx line on the instrument. You only hope is if the instrument allows you to chain commands and the reception of the carriage return triggers the instrument to implement both at the same time. Maybe you can send CTS01 and CTS02 separated by a space or comma. The manual should tell you if that's possible or maybe you need to ask the manufacturer.

See the following for info on the Side Switch settings that can either control Orientation Lock (screen rotation) or Audio Mute.

  • A small symbol has come up on my i phone 4 left hand side of the battery. looks like a small padlock with an arrow going round it. i cannot seem to get rid of it? it was not there originally. i understand its the lock that stops the screen rotating.

A small symbol has come up to the left of the battery symbol. i have found out that this is the screen rotation lock. not sure hoe this has been turned on and i cant seem to turn it off. I read that there is a button above the volume control on the i pad which turns it off, but this does not work on the i phone4?

    Try this:
-double click the Home button: this will make the System Tray appear at the bottom of the screen.
-if you do not see the screen orientation lock button then flick to the right: once you see the screen orientation lock button, just tap it. That will change it back.
    I hope this helps!
