Lock mask, move video/image underneath?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I want to mask a particular track with a circle and then move the content while the mask stays stationary. Right now when I try to move something, the mask moves with the image. Help!

Hi
You'll need to create a mask in Photoshop or alike, and put that one track higher than your footage.
Or you can use Video Generators > Shape > Circle and put that one track lower and then select Composite Mode > Travel Matte Luma on the footage that you want to mask.

  • Move an image in a mask in Keynote '09

Is it possible to move an image with in a mask using the build in or the action effect? I want the photo to slowly scale up but stay inside the mask.

Unfortunately, masks are considered part of the image for builds and actions. You would have to construct a graphic with an appropriate "hole" (an old-school mask).

  • Want to move an image and it's keyframed animated mask

I want to move an image and it's keyframed animated mask to a new position.
What steps do I need to undertake to accomplish the seemingly impossible task?
    Thank you.

You should try placing it all inside a movieclip by copying/pasting it into the movieclip timeline.  That way it is completely mobile.

  • Masking a video with shape

Is there a way to mask a movie so I am just showing a part of the screen within a shape. For example, I want to just show the middle portion of the video..almost like cropping.
    Thanks!

the only way to do this in Keynote is to use a full slide sized image that has a hole cut in it. You then lay that over the video and it appears to mask the video. This isn't too hard to do if you can get to the background image of your slide. Take that into Photoshop, make a hole in it and export that as a png file. Then drop that on your slide and put your video behind it.

  • How can I move videos from Revolution phone to mac?

How can i move videos from Verizon Revolution to Mac? My computer is Mac os x version 10.5.8
I have several videos that are too long to send via email, which is how I have been moving pictures and videos. I plugged it in using the USB port. The phone says I'm connected via usb. My mac brought up a box warning that the "cd connected" is not readable.

    Hi ..
You can use the Image Capture app located in your Applications folder to import vidoe content from the phone to your Mac
Instructions here >  Using a camera with your Mac - Apple Support
If you have problems, make sure your Mac's software is up to date.
Open System Preferences > App Store then click:  Check Now

  • IPhoto won't import .mov video from iPhone

I just got my wife a new Mac mini.  It is running the latest versions of Mountain Lion and iPhoto.
She's recorded some short videos of the kids with her iPhone (4s), and wants to organize these in iPhoto alongside pictures of the kids (she's done this before).
However, since getting her new computer, when she tried to import the videos, she got an error message that said the files were an unrecognized format.
We were able to retrieve the videos and copy them to her hard drive using Image Capture; however, she would still like to import them to iPhoto.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

There are many, many posts of this nature in these forums.  See, for example:
    iphoto won’t import mov video
For many, rebuilding the XPC helper cache solves the problem off the bat. In terminal try this, and reboot:
    sudo /usr/libexec/xpchelper --rebuild-cache
The above posted by Andy Ball on a thread related to a similar problem with Aperture:
Re: Import video to Aperture library on Mountain Lion
    Other things to try:
    1. create a fresh iPhoto library and try that.  (hold down opt while launching iPhoto)
    2. create a new OS X user (in system preferences) and try there.
In my case – and many cases – neither of those things work either, which means the problem is system wide.  Again suggesting that the xpc helper solution might work. But for me it did not either.
There are other suggestions that there are conflicts with Perian (on Yosemite) and flip4mac.  In my case uninstalling both of those didn't solve it either.
So maybe one of those solutions will work for you, results apparently vary.  But this is a huge unresolved issue many others are having as well.  I have a case with a senior apple advisor open, still unresolved. His suggestion of course, at this point, is an archive and re-install. I'm not ready to go there yet.
BTW, another thing he had me try was to import the file with Image Capture (which works).  Then open it in QuickTime Player X.  Then try exporting to 480p.  Does QuickTime crash?  It does for me.
    My summary:
    1. Files successfully import with Image Player.
    2. Files play with QuickTime Player X.
    3. QuickTime Player X crashes when exporting to 480p.
    4. Files import with iMove.
    5. Files fail to import with iPhoto (unrecognized format as with OP)
    6. iPhoto import failure/errors are system wide and not specific to a library or a user.
    7. rebuilding xpchelper cache and rebooting in my case does not resolve issue.
    8. same videos import fine in iPhoto on a totally different system (laptop running same versions of OS X 10.10 and iPhoto 9.5.1)

  • CS5.5: Locked Mask bug is still there

Using the Select All command on masks, selects all masks, not all unlocked masks. Here's how to replicate it:
On one layer, create 3 masks
Create a keyframe on all of the masks' paths
Move down the time line a little bit.
    Lock Mask 1
    Select Mask 2
Use the select All command to select Mask 3 ('Select All' may have to be used twice: If you selected Mask 2 in the Comp window, then you'll use it once to select all the vertices of Mask 2 and another time to select Mask 3)
    Move Mask 2 or 3
Result: Mask 1 will also move and create a keyframe on it's mask path even though it's locked.
You don't need to make keyframes or more than 2 masks to display the bug, but it helps show the full brunt of the problem. The fact that not only can a locked mask be moved, but that keyframes for that mask can be created or overwritten, makes Rotoscoping a potential nightmare (on top of the nightmare that is already is.) I discovered this bug about 2 weeks after the launch of CS4 and I've filled out numerous bug reports and feature requests over the past 2 and a half years. I'm very displeased that it wasn't fixed in CS5 or CS5.5. I've replicated it on every Mac and PC that I've tested and I haven't found one yet that didn't do it. CS5.5 (trial) has only been tested on the Mac so far. If anyone else can test and confirm, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is there. I wasn't even aware that this could be an issue, since I always select my masks visually or directly in the timeline, but you have a point.

  • Can anyone help me move video from Sony HDR-XR550 to ipad 3gs via camera connector kit?

Can anyone help me move video from a Sony HDR-XR550 to ipad 3g via camera connector kit?

You can use iPhoto for the import. iLife apps are integrated. From within iMovie you have direct access to iTunes for adding music, and iPhoto for photos and videos in the iPhoto library.
Or you can use the Image Capture application for the import if you prefer placing such imports into manually created folders and not using iPhoto.

  • To move an image behind a part of our "first picture", as if two layers are overlapped !

    Hello,
I'm french, and I already posted a question a few times ago, on this forum and I was very satisfied with your quick answers, so I come ask again a little question...
It's about Photoshop CS6 and I would like to know if it's possible to move an image behind a part of our "first picture", as if two layers are overlapped (the first picture and the picture that I add !) and one layer was partially hidden by the first !
It's quite complicated to understand and explain... I know ... and I'm very sorry ...
Example: If I want to move a book behind furniture (which is located in the center of my "background" or "first picture", surrounded by a nonuniform setting !), so to see only part of the book and the other part is hidden by the furniture ! Like the picture below (where we see that the "Coraya" is behind the desk !!) :
I thank you in advance for all your quick responses and I congratulate you in advance to your understanding and your professionalism about Photoshop !
    Makarsh

    Makarsh,
One easy way to accomplish that look is to add a Layer Mask to the "book" Layer, in the shape of the furniture, that you wish to hide part of the book behind.
That would probably be easier by creating a Selection for that part of the furniture, with the Selection Tool of your choice. I personally like to do such work with the Pen Tool (creates a Path), as it is very exact. However, if one is not comfortable with the Pen Tool and Paths, then the Lasso (perhaps constraining it for straight lines) might be easier. If you do use the Pen Tool, when complete, go to the Paths Panel, and from the little arrow in the top-right, choose Make Selection.
Then, with that Selection still active, go to the book Layer, and click on the Create Layer Mask icon, at the bottom of the Layers Panel.
If necessary, you can do touchup to that Layer Mask, after it has been created.
Good luck, and hope that helps.

  • Locking a movie that is a level under another movie

Hi, I am loading a movie onto a level above another movie,
but the buttons of the movie below are still clickable through the
movie above. Is there anyway I can lock the movie below when I load
    another one over it?
    Cheers!

The only way I think of doing it is by putting a large button
covering the whole movie that is transparent and doesnt do
anything. That would disable the buttons on the level underneath
    from functioning.
There must be a way of creating a layer that doesnt allow
anything underneath it to be clickable?

  • Can't see some of the .MOV videos I took (on my Mac).

    Hi!
When I import every photo and video from my iPhone through Image Capture, I can't see some of the videos I took with my iPhone. I have the iPhone 4. However, I can see them on my iPhone—precisely not on my Mac. They are .MOV video, and nor QuickTime nor VLC can't read them.
    What should I do?
    Thanks a lot.

I'm not near my Mac right now but when I try to open the videos with QuickTime, it says that it doesn't recognise the format—it gives me an error notification. I will try to convert it but I don't think it is going to work since the video seems to be flawed.
    Thanks.

  • T3i Locking Exposure in video mode?

When some one moves an arm on camera I can see the exposure changing on the lcd monitor. Using older lenses I can see exposure changing/flickering as I zoom in or out.
How do you lock exposure in video mode?  Even my several year old HV20 had a not-in-the-manual way of locking exposure.
Any video people here? I know how you lock exposure for still photography. I'd think the answer to this would be out there and not something that even stumped my local camera store.

  • How do I apply AUTO COLOR to an entire 2-hour .mov video?

How do I apply AUTO COLOR to an entire 2-hour .mov video, please?

    Hi,
Image > Auto Color results can be achieved by setting the Auto options of  Curves.
    1. Open .mov file in Photoshop CS6
    2. Click on the Curves icon in the Adjustments panel.
    3. Opt/Alt click on [Auto] button.
    4. Set Algorithms radio button to "Find Dark & Light Colors", then click [OK].
       - (My notes indicate that "Snap Neutral Midtones" should be ON also, but I'm not seeing that to be true.)
Result: The Curves adjustment layer that uses the same algorithms as Auto Color is applied to the entire clip.
The Auto Image adjustments can  be accessed via the Curves' Auto options:
Image > Auto Levels =  Enhance Per Channel Contrast algorithm
Image > Auto Contrast =  Enhance Monochromatic Contrast algorithm
Image > Auto Color = Find Dark & Light Colors + Snap Neutral Midtones ON
    Hope that helps!

  • Viewing Timelapse movies/videos

    Hi,
I am new to this timelapse movies/videos. I have tried capturing a video and wanted to watch the results, however the frame moves pretty fast.
Pausing the video and pressing a bit longer on the frame location reveals more sequence of frames. How can I play it like a normal video?
Also appreciate good links to reading materials to understand more about timelapse videos.

  • Why doesnt the smart filter mask move with the smart object?

OMG Why doesnt the smart filter mask move with the smart object?  Yikes Way PITA

If you look at the other tread about transform Again and smart Object layers you will find I found there seems to be two flavors of Transform and some bazar behaviors when it come to smart object layers. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4611500#4611500
However for this problem here I think I can not show you how to do it.
First target the smart filters Mask.  In fact so you can see what is happening Alt+Click on it so Photoshop displays the mask rather then the the composit image.  Then  use Ctrl+T free transform then just for a test hold down the Ctrl and the Alt keys and drag in a cornor to constrain and srink the Mask thee release the keys and press enter to commit the transform.
Next target the smart object layer then use the short cut Ctrl+Shift+T (Transform Again) on a PC the smart object layer will be transformed to match the filter mask transform.
